Selayar Island is one of the islands in South Sulawesi Province. This island is about 40 km from the island of Sulawesi. On this island, there are about 88500 people who live as farmers and fishermen. Even though they live as farmers and fishermen, they use electrical energy as an energy source for their daily needs. Currently, electrical energy comes from Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) with a nominal capacity of 13.19 MW, where the PLTD burns diesel oil every day. Currently, there is a policy from the Government that will stop the use of diesel oil so that the PLTD on Selayar Island will be replaced with a 20 MW Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG). Selayar Island is an island that has great tourism potential, so it is necessary to think about providing clean and continuous electrical energy. Another alternative besides PLTMG is the use of 20 kV submarine cable networks. The use of the network will integrate the South Sulawesi electricity system and the Selayar Island electricity system. 20 kV submarine cable network as an alternative that Selayar Island does not have to build a thermal type power plant. The operation of a university is strongly influenced by the availability of electrical energy. So that currently, electrical energy is one of the absolute and unavoidable basic needs of universities such as Hasanuddin University (Unhas). This is because at Unhas, there are modern learning and practicum facilities, both for the learning process, academic administration needs, and teaching media that generally use electrical energy-based equipment. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, Unhas's electricity consumption was relatively high. From 2018 to 2019, the average amount of electrical energy consumption was 14.3 GWh per year. Since entering 2020, the consumption of electrical energy has decreased to an average of 4.3 GWh. The decrease in usage is because at Unhas, there is often a policy of working from home for employees and lecturers, and studying at home for students. The decrease of 4.3 GWh was due to the absence of student activities at Unhas. So that it can be illustrated that the use of electrical energy of 4.3 GWh is an academic administrative activity. Vegetable oil is an alternative to power transformer oil. One of the vegetable oils is Rice Bran Oil (RBO). The material is abundant in Indonesia and has great benefits. This paper discusses the effect of nanofluids on RBO to improve dielectric properties by utilizing several different types of nanoparticles (NP) such type conductive as magnetite (Fe3O4) and type semi-conductive as titanium dioxide (TiO2). Each study sample had 0.05% mg. The sample was compared with Mineral Oil (MT) and tested for chemical, physical, and electrical properties. The physical properties testing includes the viscosity and density tests, while the chemical properties include the water and acid level. Electrical properties testing involves Breakdown Voltage with VDE 370 electrode from IEC 60156 standard under repeated heating conditions from room temperature 30°C - 60°C. From the results of the analysis of modified RBO samples, it was identified that conductive nanoparticles such as Fe3O4 and semiconductive types such as suspended TiO2 were superior to MT. This is indicated in the results that have been summarized that all the values of viscosity and density modification of RBO do not match SPLN 49-1 because of the high intermolecular value compared to MT. Increased resistance to breakdown stress of RBO, including long-chain fatty acids that are not erosive, the acid number and humidity data or water content meet SPLN 49-1 standard and ASTM D6871 standard so that even though there is aging on the RBO compared to organic acids with stress chains owned by MT, the increase is very little. From the test results, it is known that the nanoparticles used in the experiment have unique characteristics that inhibit thermal dispersion through the agolmerated nanoparticles surface which in the future can be good candidates for the development of RBO for dielectric applications. This study is to determine how the influence of pollutants on the performance of an insulator, in this case looking at the flashover voltage value parameter that occurs. The pollution used is artificial pollution such as NaCl, CaCO3 and Carbon with each of three concentration levels. The material test in this study is a post type epoxy resin polymer insulator, porcelain and glass insulators with suspension type. This flashover test refers to the IEC 60060 standard and to determine the level of pollutants on the insulator surface refers to the IEC 60815 standard. The results show that the flashover voltage value will decrease as the ESDD value increases. Comparison of flashover voltage between porcelain, glass and polymer insulators in clean and polluted conditions shown that porcelain insulators and glass insulators are very susceptible to pollutants with the largest percentages of 31.58% and 35.26% while the percentage of polymer insulators is 7.46%. Reduced flashover on silicone rubber polymer insulators due to its hydrophobic properties and can transfer hydrophobic properties to a polluted layer so that it is difficult to form a continuous layer of water. Capacitor Banks provide reactive power to improve voltage levels and will minimize power losses in the electric power system. In the South Sulawesi electric power system there are variations of buses so that the capacitor installed really needs to optimize the location and capacity of the capacitor. The Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) method is used in determining the location and magnitude of the compensator (capacitor bank) on the 150 kV high voltage transmission system in South Sulawesi. The purpose of this use is to determine the ability of ABC as a solution to the optimization method for improving voltage levels and minimizing power losses in high voltage transmissions. There are 7 scenarios carried out in this research, scenarios 2, 3, and 4 using conventional methods, scenarios 5 to 7 applying the ABC method. The results of these 6 scenarios are an increase in the voltage on the bus and the minimization of power losses in the South Sulawesi system. Power plant in Indonesia is still dominated by thermal plant from diesel fuel, gas and coal which cannot be renewed. The renewable energy potential in Indonesia is highly able to develop such as photovoltaic, wind turbine and micro hydro plant. Hybrid power plant system is a method of combining two or more plants in order to obtain the synergy which give a positive impact in technical (reliability supply system) and economic advantage. The main purpose of this research is to construct a controlling system of hybrid plant renewable energy to maintain the load supply by utilizing microcontroller ATMega2560 as the central of the control. The finding of this research is hybrid system which has constructed is well function with battery voltage value equal to 10 Volt as relay parameter to switch one power plant to another. If a conductor given voltage, then there will be electric field and magnetic field along the conductor, as a result of sinusoidal waves which change with time. Besides, it will cause the power loss along the conductor, especially for long lines and has a high voltage. The main purpose of this study was to determine power loss that occurs in the 150 kV overhead. One of effective method to calculate the power loss in the transmission line is the Poynting vector theorem is analyzed based on the amount of the electric field and magnetic field intensity generated. Based on the results of the analysis conducted in this study found that the magnitude of power loss at lines 150 kV with a routes SUTT Bakarul-Pinrang-Tuppu, Pinrang — Pare-pare, Pare-pare — barru-Pangkep, and Pangkep-Bosowa-Tello amounted to 5.4505 MW with a total transmission line length of 230.138 km.
