Vanadium oxide cathode materials with stable crystal structure and fast Zn2+ storage capabilities are extremely important to achieving outstanding electrochemical performance in aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. In this work, a one‐step hydrothermal method was used to manipulate the bimetallic ion intercalation into the interlayer of vanadium oxide. The pre‐intercalated Cu ions act as pillars to pin the vanadium oxide (V‐O) layers, establishing stabilized two‐dimensional channels for fast Zn2+ diffusion. The occupation of Mn ions between V‐O interlayer further expands the layer spacing and increases the concentration of oxygen defects (Od), which boosts the Zn2+ diffusion kinetics. As a result, as‐prepared Cu0.17Mn0.03V2O5−□·2.16H2O cathode shows outstanding Zn‐storage capabilities under room‐ and low‐temperature environments (e.g., 440.3 mAh g−1 at room temperature and 294.3 mAh g−1 at −60°C). Importantly, it shows a long cycling life and high capacity retention of 93.4% over 2500 cycles at 2 A g−1 at −60°C. Furthermore, the reversible intercalation chemistry mechanisms during discharging/charging processes were revealed via operando X‐ray powder diffraction and ex situ Raman characterizations. The complex in-cylinder gas state and flow significantly affect fuel-air mixture, combustion efficiency and emissions. However, the scavenging CFD model of large bore marine engines in digital twin system requires substantial computational resources. Therefore, a fast-run phenomenological model of the scavenging process is built in this study. The model simulates the thermal states and flow dynamics of inlet and exhaust gas based on the energy and momentum conservation principles, considering the ideal in-cylinder swirl velocity profile with effects of air mass loss, wall friction, and swirl shear. The model's accuracy is confirmed by comparing it with CFD simulations on different engines, showing an average relative error less than 3.5%. It also analyzes the impacts of intake pressure. The model provides accurate boundary conditions for subsequent fuel spray, combustion, and emission simulations and can be combined with these models in the future, thereby applied to engine design, diagnostics, and control. In large-bore two-stroke diesel/nature gas dual-fuel marine engines, a certain quantity of diesel is injected into the cylinder to satisfy the full-power output engine rated power of the gas mixture. However, the ignition and flame propagation process based on the injection strategy of diesel direct injection combined with diesel jet flame on the ignition and combustion of natural gas is unclear, which directly affects the power and the thermal efficiency of engine and emissions. Therefore, this work numerically investigates the flame propagation characteristic under the strategy of the main and pilot diesel modes. The influence of the injection timing and proportion of diesel on combustion and emission performance are further analyzed. The results show that the influence of the injection timing of main diesel (MDIT) on the combustion process and emission performance is more obvious than that of the injection timing of pilot diesel (PDIT). The results indicate that the MDIT increased from −2°CA to −8°CA, the power increased by 316 kW, and the thermal efficiency improved by 1.5%. However, the CO2 emissions increased by 10.5 g/kWh, and the NOx emissions increased by 0.7 g/kWh. Additionally, an early PDIT is not conducive to the rapid organization of combustion, resulting in decreased engine power and thermal efficiency. Furthermore, it was found that the power improved by 50 kW and the thermal efficiency improved by 0.6%, with a decrease in the main diesel ratio (MDR) from 100% to 90%. Purpose: The correlation between spironolactone usage and cancer risk has sparked interest. The objective of this study is to examine the association between spironolactone use and the incidence of urinary tract cancer in the general population. Methods: We conducted a matched population-based cohort study. The study population was obtained from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database (TNHIRD) during the period from 2000 to 2016. The multivariate Cox proportional hazard model was performed to examine the impact of spironolactone use on the risk of urinary tract cancer. A total of 8,608 individuals exposed to spironolactone were exact matched by 1:1 ratio with unexposed controls on factors including age, gender, comorbidities, CCI scores and socioeconomic status. The incidences of urinary tract cancer, including prostate, renal and bladder cancer, were estimated in both spironolactone exposed and non-exposed cohorts. Results: After adjusting for confounding variables, the multivariate Cox regression analysis showed no significant association between spironolactone exposure and urinary tract cancer incidence, including bladder (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR] = 1.19, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.72–1.96, p = 0.50), renal (aHR = 1.75, 95% CI = 0.99–3.07, p = 0.053), and prostate cancer (aHR = 0.67, 95% CI = 0.43–1.04, p = 0.07). When the population was stratified into low (cumulative dose < = 29,300 mg) and high (cumulative dose >29,300 mg) dose of spironolactone, only high dose of spironolactone use was significantly associated with a reduced risk of prostate cancer (aHR = 0.45, 95% CI = 0.23–0.89, p = 0.02), while being associated with an elevated risk of renal cancer (aHR = 2.09, 95% CI = 1.07–4.08, p = 0.03). However, no clear cumulative dose-response relationship was observed in theses associations. Conclusions: High cumulative dose of spironolactone may be potentially associated with a decreased incidence of prostate cancer and an increased incidence of renal cancer, while no significant association was observed with bladder cancer incidence. However, given the lack of support from the dose-response pattern, the available evidence is inconclusive to establish a definitive association between spironolactone use and urinary tract cancer. Simple Summary: We proposed a deep learning algorithm to detect lymph nodes and classify them in the head and neck region on computed tomography. We further analyzed the inference result from the model and found that the size of the lymph nodes may be a characteristic for the model to classify them. This finding is consistent with current clinical aspects. We will deploy the model in clinical practice and hope to assist clinicians in finding out the lesions more correctly and efficiently. Background: Head and neck cancer is highly prevalent in Taiwan. Its treatment mainly relies on clinical staging, usually diagnosed from images. A major part of the diagnosis is whether lymph nodes are involved in the tumor. We present an algorithm for analyzing clinical images that integrates a deep learning model with image processing and attempt to analyze the features it uses to classify lymph nodes. Methods: We retrospectively collected pretreatment computed tomography images and surgery pathological reports for 271 patients diagnosed with, and subsequently treated for, naïve oral cavity, oropharynx, hypopharynx, and larynx cancer between 2008 and 2018. We chose a 3D UNet model trained for semantic segmentation, which was evaluated for inference in a test dataset of 29 patients. Results: We annotated 2527 lymph nodes. The detection rate of all lymph nodes was 80%, and Dice score was 0.71. The model has a better detection rate at larger lymph nodes. For those identified lymph nodes, we found a trend where the shorter the short axis, the more negative the lymph nodes. This is consistent with clinical observations. Background: Based on the molecular expression of cancer cells, molecular subtypes of breast cancer have been applied to classify patients for predicting clinical outcomes and prognosis. However, further evidence is needed regarding the influence of molecular subtypes on the efficacy of radiotherapy (RT) after breast-conserving surgery (BCS), particularly in a population-based context. Hence, the present study employed a propensity-score-matched cohort design to investigate the potential role of molecular subtypes in stratifying patient outcomes for post-BCS RT and to identify the specific clinical benefits that may emerge. Methods: From 2006 to 2019, the present study included 59,502 breast cancer patients who underwent BCS from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. Propensity scores were utilized to match confounding variables between patients with and without RT within each subtype of breast cancer, namely luminal A, luminal B/HER2-negative, luminal B/HER2-positive, basal-like, and HER2-enriched ones. Several clinical outcomes were assessed, in terms of local recurrence (LR), regional recurrence (RR), distant metastasis (DM), disease-free survival (DFS), and overall survival (OS). Results: After post-BCS RT, patients with luminal A and luminal B/HER2-positive breast cancers exhibited a decrease in LR (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR] = 0.18, p < 0.0001; and, 0.24, p = 0.0049, respectively). Furthermore, reduced RR and improved DFS were observed in patients with luminal A (aHR = 0.15, p = 0.0004; and 0.29, p < 0.0001), luminal B/HER2-negative (aHR = 0.06, p = 0.0093; and, 0.46, p = 0.028), and luminal B/HER2-positive (aHR = 0.14, p = 0.01; and, 0.38, p < 0.0001) breast cancers. Notably, OS benefits were found in patients with luminal A (aHR = 0.62, p = 0.002), luminal B/HER2-negative (aHR = 0.30, p < 0.0001), basal-like (aHR = 0.40, p < 0.0001), and HER2-enriched (aHR = 0.50, p = 0.03), but not luminal B/HER2-positive diseases. Remarkably, when considering DM, luminal A patients who received RT demonstrated a lower cumulative incidence of DM than those without RT (p = 0.02). Conclusion: In patients with luminal A breast cancer who undergo BCS, RT could decrease the likelihood of tumor metastasis. After RT, the tumor's hormone receptor status may predict tumor control regarding LR, RR, and DFS. Besides, the HER2 status of luminal breast cancer patients may serve as an additional predictor of OS after post-BCS RT. However, further prospective studies are required to validate these findings. Anti-PD-1 monotherapy had limited clinical efficacy in relapsed/refractory (r/r) AML patients with higher PD-1 and PD-L1 expression. Hence, we investigated the efficacy and safety of PD-1 inhibitor with DNA hypomethylating agent (HMA) + CAG regimen in patients who had failed prior AML therapy. In this phase 2, single-arm study, r/r AML patients received azacitidine or decitabine plus CAG regimen with tislelizumab. Primary endpoints were efficacy (objective response rate [ORR]) and safety. Secondary endpoints included overall survival (OS), event-free survival (EFS) and duration of response (DOR). Statistical analyses were performed using Stata 14.0 and SPSS 20.0 software where P < 0.05 denoted significance. Twenty-seven patients were enrolled patients and completed 1 cycle, and 14 (51.9%) and 4 (14.8%) patients completed 2 and 3 cycles, respectively. ORR was 63% (14: complete remission [CR]/CR with incomplete hematologic recovery [CRi], 3: partial remission (PR), 10: no response [NR]). Median OS (mOS) and EFS were 9.7 and 9.2 months, respectively. With a median follow-up of 8.2 months (1.1–26.9), the mOS was not reached in responders (CR/CRi/PR) while it was 2.4 months (0.0–5.4) in nonresponders (P = 0.002). Grade 2–3 immune-related adverse events (irAEs) were observed in 4 (14.8%) patients and 3 nonresponders died of lung infection after treatment. Tislelizumab + HMA + CAG regimen showed improved outcomes in r/r AML patients with lower pretherapy leukemia burden. irAEs were mild and low-grade and higher pretherapy bone marrow CD4+ CD127+ PD-1+ T cells might serve as a predictor of treatment response. Purpose: To analyze the clinical characteristics and prognosis of patients hospitalized with non-severe, severe pneumonia and death in Omicron COVID-19.Patients and Methods: We collected clinical data from 118 patients with COVID-19 in China from 18 December, 2022 and 5 February, 2023. According to the outcome, the patients were divided into non-severe group, severe group and death group. Subsequently, we statistically analyzed the general condition, clinical manifestations, laboratory parameters, NLR, MLR, PLR and HALP of these groups. We also retrospectively analyzed the possible factors affecting the prognostic regression of patients with COVID-19.Results: A total of 118 COVID-19 patients were enrolled in this study, including 64 non-severe patients, 38 severe patients and 16 death patients. Compared with the non-severe group, T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, Th1, Th2, Th17, Treg cells, IgA, IgG, IgM in the severe and death groups decreased more significantly (P< 0.05). The levels of myocardial markers, ALT, AST, BUN, Cr, D-dimer, fibrinogen, NLR, MLR and PLR in the severe and death groups were significantly higher than those in the non-severe group (P< 0.05). The level of HALP was significantly lower than that of non-severe group (P< 0.05). MLR is not only an independent risk factor for the transition from non-severe to severe disease, but also an independent risk factor for predicting the possibility of death in COVID-19 patients.Conclusion: The analysis of COVID-19 patients in China showed that severe patients were older, more likely to have related complications, lower lymphocyte count, liver and kidney function disorder, glucose and lipid metabolism disorders, myocardial injury, and abnormal coagulation function, suggesting the need for early anticoagulant therapy. Purpose: Severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) leads to acute coma and may result in prolonged disorder of consciousness (pDOC). We aimed to determine whether right median nerve electrical stimulation is a safe and effective treatment for accelerating emergence from coma after TBI. Methods: This randomised controlled trial was performed in 22 centres in China. Participants with acute coma at 7–14 days after TBI were randomly assigned (1:1) to either routine therapy and right median nerve electrical stimulation (RMNS group) or routine treatment (control group). The RMNS group received 20 mA, 300 μs, 40 Hz stimulation pulses, lasting 20 s per minutes, 8 h per day, for 2 weeks. The primary outcome was the proportion of patients who regained consciousness 6 months post-injury. The secondary endpoints were Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), Full Outline of Unresponsiveness scale (FOUR), Coma Recovery Scale-Revised (CRS-R), Disability Rating Scale (DRS) and Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended (GOSE) scores reported as medians on day 28, 3 months and 6 months after injury, and GCS and FOUR scores on day 1 and day 7 during stimulation. Primary analyses were based on the intention-to-treat set. Results: Between March 26, 2016, and October 18, 2020, 329 participants were recruited, of whom 167 were randomised to the RMNS group and 162 to the control group. At 6 months post-injury, a higher proportion of patients in the RMNS group regained consciousness compared with the control group (72.5%, n = 121, 95% confidence interval (CI) 65.2–78.7% vs. 56.8%, n = 92, 95% CI 49.1–64.2%, p = 0.004). GOSE at 3 months and 6 months (5 [interquartile range (IQR) 3–7] vs. 4 [IQR 2–6], p = 0.002; 6 [IQR 3–7] vs. 4 [IQR 2–7], p = 0.0005) and FOUR at 28 days (15 [IQR 13–16] vs. 13 [interquartile range (IQR) 11–16], p = 0.002) were significantly increased in the RMNS group compared with the control group. Trajectory analysis showed that significantly more patients in the RMNS group had faster GCS, CRS-R and DRS improvement (p = 0.01, 0.004 and 0.04, respectively). Adverse events were similar in both groups. No serious adverse events were associated with the stimulation device. Conclusion: Right median nerve electrical stimulation is a possible effective treatment for patients with acute traumatic coma, that will require validation in a confirmatory trial. Purpose: The construction of digital supply chains to integrate internal and external resources is becoming an important path for manufacturing enterprises to gain competitiveness. However, at present, research on the internal mechanisms of digital supply chain capabilities (DSCC) and enterprise sustainable competitive performance (ESCP) has not been sufficiently studied. Based on contextual ambidexterity theory, this study investigates whether DSCC could enable the realization of supply chain ambidexterity and further explains the mediating role of supply chain ambidexterity on DSCC and ESCP, and the boundary conditions of supply chain governance on supply chain ambidexterity and ESCP. Design/methodology/approach: With a survey data set of 232 Chinese manufacturing enterprises from different industries, the study empirically tests a moderated mediating model and conducts hierarchical linear modeling and bootstrap to test the study's hypotheses. Findings: The results demonstrate that: (1) DSCC positively enhance ESCP; (2) supply chain ambidexterity, which can be regarded as a synergic ability of supply chain alignment and adaptability, partially mediates the positive relationship between DSCC and ESCP; and (3) supply chain governance such as incentive governance positively moderates the association between supply chain ambidexterity and ESCP, but there is no evidence that relational governance moderates their relationship. Originality/value: This paper proposes a new interpretive perspective to understand digital supply chains. More importantly, it reveals the importance of DSCC in contributing toward supply chain ambidexterity and ESCP, and demonstrates the differential regulating action of incentive and relational governance on the association between supply chain ambidexterity and ESCP, with implications for both academics and practitioners. Quenching has been demonstrated to have great effects on the electrical properties of piezoelectric materials. Conceivably, it inevitably influences the piezocatalytic performance, however, no research on this has been reported. Herein, we studied the influence of quenching on piezocatalytic performance and elucidated the underlying regulatory mechanism. BaTiO3 (BTO) particles were calcined and quenched using different modes, including furnace cooling, air cooling, and water cooling. The results revealed that accelerating the cooling rate and reducing the concentration of oxygen vacancies (COV) enhanced the piezoelectric and ferroelectric performances. Under the synergetic effect of a low COV and high cooling rate, the air-cooled BTO exhibited significantly enhanced piezocatalytic degradation activity, with a large degradation rate constant k of 0.077 min−1, which is almost 15.40, 6.16, and 3.35 times that of the pristine, furnace-cooled, and water-cooled ones, respectively. Additionally, the air-cooled BTO displayed an optimal piezocatalytic H2 evolution rate of 1.43 mmol h−1 g−1 with methanol as the sacrificial agent. The piezoelectricity, ferroelectricity, carrier characteristics, and adsorption ability of the samples were systematically investigated to unveil the underlying enhancement mechanism. HPDI natural gas (HPDI-NA) engines can improve nitrogen oxides and PM emissions while getting better in-cylinder combustion in the comparison of the conventional engines fueled with diesel. In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) of a HPDI natural gas marine engine is set up. The influence of geometry parameters on mixture flow, combustion, and emissions were presented and discussed. The geometry parameters include scavenging port angle (SPA) and three combustion chamber geometries (shallow-basin-shaped (SBC), shallow-ω-shaped (SWC), and deep-pit-shaped combustion chamber (DPC)). The results show that increasing the SPA can significantly swell the swirl ratio, but too large the swirl ratio is not conducive to improving the scavenging effect. As SPA is varied from 30° to 60°, a richer-than-flammable region gets greater, and the penetration distance is shortened by the larger vortex. Then, the mixing and combustion process get worse. With the increase of the SPA, the emissions of soot, carbonic oxide (CO), and unburned hydrocarbons (HC) can be optimized. Also, a larger scavenge port angle is not conducive to improving nitrogen oxides emission and the fuel consumption efficiency. The combustion chamber geometries have fewer effects on the mixture flow and the pressure profiles and temperature than that of SPA. The CO/HC and soot emissions of the three tested combustion chamber geometries are similar. The effect of the shallow basin-shaped combustion chamber (SBC) is much better than that of the other combustion chamber geometries with respect to NOx emission. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Piezoelectric materials are sensitive to lattice strain, which is always related with their macroscopic properties. Therefore, it is of scientific significance to improve piezocatalytic performance by strain engineering and clarify the underlying mechanism. Herein, BaTiO3 (BTO) powder is fabricated by a solid‐state reaction and ball‐milling is employed to induce lattice strain in BTO. By prolonging ball‐milling time, the lattice strain increases, leading to an enhancement of tetragonality and piezocatalytic performance of BTO. The strain‐engineered BTO exhibited an excellent piezocatalytic activity, with a degradation rate constant k of ∼0.03 min−1 and a H2 evolution rate of 0.899 mmol g−1 h−1, which are 3 and 3.52 times those of the strain‐free one, respectively. The enhanced piezocatalytic performance can be ascribed to the improved piezoelectricity, piezoelectric polarization and adsorption activities for O2, OH and H of the strain‐engineered BTO. The poor electrode kinetics and low conductivity of the LiMn0.8Fe0.2PO4 cathode seriously impede its practical application. Here, an effective strategy of boron‐catalyzed graphitization carbon coating layer is proposed to stabilize the nanostructure and improve the kinetic properties and Li‐storage capability of LiMn0.8Fe0.2PO4 nanocrystals for rechargeable lithium‐ion batteries. The graphite‐like BC3 is derived from B‐catalyzed graphitization coating layers, which can not only effectively maintain the dynamic stability of the LiMn0.8Fe0.2PO4 nanostructure during cycling, but also plays an important role in enhancing the conductivity and Li+ migration kinetics of LiMn0.8Fe0.2PO4@B‐C. The optimized LiMn0.8Fe0.2PO4@B‐C exhibits the fastest intercalation/deintercalation kinetics, highest electrical conductivity (8.41 × 10−2 S cm−1), Li+ diffusion coefficient (6.17 × 10−12 cm2 s−1), and Li‐storage performance among three comparison samples (B‐C0, B‐C6, and B‐C9). The highly reversible properties and structural stability of LiMn0.8Fe0.2PO4@B‐C are further proved by operando XRD analysis. The B‐catalyzed graphitization carbon coating strategy is expected to be an effective pathway to overcome the inherent drawbacks of the high‐energy density LiMn0.8Fe0.2PO4 cathode and to improve other cathode materials with low‐conductivity and poor electrode kinetics for rechargeable second batteries. Simple Summary: Long-term low-dose aspirin use was associated with a reduced risk of primary cancer in survivors of ischemic cardiac or cerebrovascular disease. Thus, in contrast to the situation for the general population (for which the anticancer effects of aspirin are still controversial), long-term low-dose aspirin use in these patients, though originally employed for the secondary prevention of ischemic attack, also has extra anticancer benefits. Ischemic cardiac or cerebrovascular disease (ICCD) survivors represent a subpopulation with a high cancer risk. Antiplatelet medications, such as aspirin, remain a fundamental therapy for the secondary prevention of ischemic attack in these patients. We conducted a population-based cohort study to investigate the association of long-term low-dose aspirin use with the risk of primary cancer in ICCD survivors. Patients aged ≥20 years with newly diagnosed ICCD (n = 98,519) between January 2000 and December 2013 were identified from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. The aspirin user and nonuser groups (each n = 24,030) were propensity-matched (1:1) for age, sex, comorbidities, prior medications, ICCD diagnosis year, and year of index dates. The incidence rate of primary cancer was significantly lower in the user group (6.49/1000 person-years) than in the nonuser group (14.04/1000 person-years). Multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated that aspirin use was an independent factor associated with a reduced risk of primary cancer (aHR (95% confidence interval) = 0.42 (0.38–0.45)) after adjustment. Kaplan–Meier curve analysis revealed that the cumulative incidence rate of primary cancer was significantly lower (p < 0.0001) in the user group than in the nonuser group over the 14-year follow-up period. Subgroup analyses demonstrated that this anticancer effect increased with duration of treatment and with similar estimates in women and men. In addition, aspirin use was associated with a reduced risk for seven out of the ten most common cancers in Taiwan. These findings suggest the anticancer effect of aspirin in ICCD survivors and provide information for assessing the benefit-to-risk profile of aspirin as an antiplatelet medication in these patients. It is proven that the so-called Weyl function uniquely determines the potentials. Furthermore, we pay attention to the inverse problem of recovering the potentials from the spectral data, which consists of the eigenvalues and weight matrices, and present a constructive algorithm. Objective: To investigate the relationship between different standing postures and surgical outcomes of K-Line (-) ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) patients after laminoplasty with a titanium basket. There is a lack of data evaluating the relationship between the postoperative satisfaction of K-Line (-) patients and their standing postures.Methods: OPLL patients enrolled in the study were divided into a K-Line (+) group (Group A) and a K-Line (- group (Group B) in natural and relaxed standing positions. We compared the postoperative outcomes after cervical laminoplasty with titanium basket surgery using the Japanese Orthopaedic Association score (JOA), recovery rate and the degree of improvement in the six JOA score items. The degree of satisfaction with the outcome was assessed at the 1-year follow-up using a 7-point numerical rating scale.Results: A total of 34 K-Line (+) patients with OPLL (age 61.9 ± 2.9 years) in Group A and 40 K-Line (-)patients with OPLL (age 60.4 ± 3.5 years) in Group B in natural and relaxed standing positions were recruited. In Group A, the mean preoperative and postoperative JOA scores were 10.1 ± 1.4 and 13.1 ± 0.8 points, respectively, and in Group B, the mean preoperative and postoperative JOA scores were 9.7 ± 1.3 and 11.1 ± 0.9 points, respectively. A significant improvement in the JOA score was seen in both groups postoperatively, but the recovery rate of the patients' JOA scores was significantly lower in Group B. In Group A, significant improvements were seen in all JOA score items, but in Group B, improvements were seen only in upper- and lower-extremity sensory functions.Conclusion: Different standing postures are risk factors in the treatment of K-Line (-) patients, and therefore, natural and relaxed standing positions should be given more attention before devising the surgical plan. This article investigates the attitude tracking control problem for a rigid spacecraft without angular velocity feedback, in which external disturbances, parametric uncertainties, and input saturation are considered. Initially, an angular velocity observer is developed incorporated with adaptive technique, which could tackle the unmeasurable angular velocity and system uncertainties simultaneously. By introducing adaptive updating law into the proposed observer, the synchronized uncertainties are handled such that robustness of the observer is enhanced, even in the presence of external disturbances. Further, for solving the input constraints problem, command filter and backstepping method are utilized; thus, a bounded attitude tracking control law is derived. Purpose: Breast-conserving surgery (BCS) followed by whole breast radiation therapy (BCS-WBRT) or total mastectomy without WBRT (TM-no-WBRT) is the primary treatment for early stage breast cancer patients. Our study aimed to identify which early stage breast cancer treatment strategies had a subsequent lower incidence rate of mood disorder over a period of 10 years after the primary treatment. Methods: This retrospective cohort study consisted of newly diagnosed early stage breast cancer patients in Taiwan from 2000 to 2013 using the National Health Insurance Research Database in Taiwan. We used a 1:1 propensity score matching by age to enrol patients into the BCS-WBRT and TM-no-WBRT groups. Statistical analyses were performed to calculate the hazard ratio and cumulative incidence rate. Results: Our study consisted of 876 BCS-WBRT patients and 1949 TM-no-WBRT patients. After propensity score matching, each study group included 876 patients. The results showed that the mood disorder incidence rate was lower in the BCS-WBRT group than in the TM-no-WBRT group. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that the BCS-WBRT group had a decreased risk of developing mood disorder (adjusted hazard ratio 0.69, 95% CI 0.53–0.90, p < 0.01). Furthermore, the Kaplan–Meier analysis showed that the BCS-WBRT group had a lower cumulative incidence rate of mood disorder, especially depression, after undergoing 10 years of primary treatment (p = 0.004). Conclusion: Our results indicated that BCS-WBRT was associated with a lower risk of development of mood disorder over a 10-year period compared to TM-no-WBRT in early stage breast cancer patients. Background: Neuropathic pain is a common and severely disabling state that affects millions of people worldwide. Microglial activation in the spinal cord plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of neuropathic pain. However, the mechanisms underlying spinal microglial activation during neuropathic pain remain incompletely understood. Here, we investigated the role of Dickkopf (DKK) 3 and its interplay with microglial activation in the spinal cord in neuropathic pain.Methods: In this study, we investigated the effects of intrathecal injection of recombinant DKK3 (rDKK3) on mechanical allodynia and microglial activation in the spinal cord after spared nerve injury (SNI) in rats by western blot (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results: We found that SNI induced a significant decrease in the levels of DKK3, Kremen-1 and Dishevelled-1 (DVL-1) and up-regulated the expression of phosphorylated apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (p-ASK1), phosphorylated c-JUN N-terminal kinase (p-JNK), phosphorylated p38 (p-p38) in the spinal cord. Moreover, our results showed that exogenous intrathecal administration of rDKK3 inhibited expression of p-ASK1, p-JNK, p-p38, promoted the transformation of microglia from M1 type to M2 type, and decreased the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines compared to the rats of SNI + Vehicle. However, these effects were reversed by intrathecal administration of Kremen-1 siRNA or Dishevelled-1 (DVL-1) siRNA.Conclusions: These results suggest that DKK3 ameliorates neuropathic pain via inhibiting ASK-1/JNK/p-38-mediated microglia polarization and neuroinflammation, at least partly, by the Kremen-1 and DVL-1 pathways. Chronic pain remains an unresolved problem. Current treatments have limited efficacy. Thus, novel therapeutic targets are urgently required for the development of more effective analgesics. An increasing number of studies have proved that sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) agonists can relieve chronic pain. In this review, we summarize recent progress in understanding the roles and mechanisms of SIRT1 in mediating chronic pain associated with peripheral nerve injury, chemotherapy‐induced peripheral neuropathy, spinal cord injury, bone cancer, and complete Freund's adjuvant injection. Emerging studies have indicated that SIRT1 activation may exert positive effects on chronic pain relief by regulating inflammation, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction. To explore the efficacy and safety of G-SCF-mobilized donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) for treatment of relapse of hematologic malignancies after allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation, we performed a retrospective analysis in a cohort of patients with morphologic (n = 36) or molecular (n = 22) relapse post transplantation. The 3-year post-DLI survival rates for therapeutic and preemptive DLI recipients were 16.7% and 33.3%, respectively. The occurrence of DLI-associated acute graft-versus-host disease predicted longer survival, whereas diagnosis of T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma or myelodysplastic syndromes or early relapse after transplant (< 6 months) predicted shorter survival after therapeutic DLI. Cumulative incidence of progression to hematologic relapse and non-relapse mortality after preemptive DLI were 46.8% and 29.1%, respectively. Active disease prior to transplant and early molecular relapse after transplant (< 4 months) were the strongest predictors of non-relapse mortality after preemptive DLI. In conclusion, although therapeutic DLI had limited efficacy against T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma or myelodysplastic syndromes or early post-transplant relapse, patients who developed DLI-associated acute graft-versus-host disease would benefit from this procedure in the setting of G-SCF-mobilized DLI. Z-ligustilide (or ligustilide) is found in Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels and may exert potential benefits in cancer treatment. Previous research has reported that ligustilide has anti-cancer effects on several types of cancer cells. However, studies of ligustilide on oral cancer cells have not been reported, especially under hypoxic conditions. This study focuses on the molecular mechanism of ligustilide-induced apoptosis in hypoxic oral cancer cells. We found that in hypoxic TW2.6 cells, ligustilide inhibited cell migration and induced caspase-dependent apoptosis. Accumulation of c-Myc accompanied by BH3-only members suggests that ligustilide may induce c-Myc-dependent apoptosis. In addition, we reported that ligustilide has an effect on ER-stress signaling. By using inhibitors of c-Myc, IRE1α, and ER-stress inhibitors, we found that cell morphologies or cell viability were rescued to some degree. Moreover, ligustilide is able to increase the expression of γ-H2AX and enhance the occurrence of DNA damage in oral cancer cells after radiation treatment. This result suggests that ligustilide has potential as a radiation sensitizer. Considering the trade-off relationship between brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC), combustion noise (CN) and NOx emission, it is a difficult task to optimize them simultaneously in a marine diesel engine. In order to overcome this problem, a novel genetic algorithm and improved chicken swarm optimization (GA-ICSO) hybrid algorithm was proposed, where the enhanced Levy flight and adaptive self-learning factor were introduced in this algorithm. Computational comparisons between GA-ICSO and other effective optimization algorithms were performed using four standard test functions, validating the improvements in both accuracy and stability for GA-ICSO. Furthermore, a predictive engine model based on a phenomenological approach was developed and validated. This model coupled the proposed algorithm for the optimization of a marine diesel engine. In the optimization process, five control parameters were selected as design variables, including injection timing (IT), intake cam phasing (ICP), intake valve closing (IVC), intake temperature and pressure. Results show that, a lower objective value can be obtained by GA-ICSO than other widely used optimization algorithms for all the operating conditions. Besides, by comparing the results between the optimal generations and baselines, it could be found that, under the condition of 50%, 75% and 100%load, CN is reduced by 10.7%, 4.9% and 3.9%, NOx is decreased by 15%, 31% and 33%, and BSFC is suppressed by 10.8%, 13.3% and 9.5%, respectively. Finally, heat release rates, noise spectrums, cylinder pressures and temperatures were all employed to discuss the optimization results of a marine diesel engine under different working conditions. T cell receptor (TCR)–based therapy has the potential to induce durable clinical responses in patients with cancer by targeting intracellular tumor antigens with high sensitivity and by promoting T cell survival. However, the need for TCRs specific for shared oncogenic antigens and the need for manufacturing protocols able to redirect T cell specificity while preserving T cell fitness remain limiting factors. By longitudinal monitoring of T cell functionality and dynamics in 15 healthy donors, we isolated 19 TCRs specific for Wilms' tumor antigen 1 (WT1), which is overexpressed by several tumor types. TCRs recognized several peptides restricted by common human leukocyte antigen (HLA) alleles and displayed a wide range of functional avidities. We selected five high-avidity HLA-A*02:01–restricted TCRs, three that were specific to the less explored immunodominant WT137–45 and two that were specific to the noncanonical WT1−78–64 epitopes, both naturally processed by primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts. With CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing tools, we combined TCR-targeted integration into the TCR α constant (TRAC) locus with TCR β constant (TRBC) knockout, thus avoiding TCRαβ mispairing and maximizing TCR expression and function. The engineered lymphocytes were enriched in memory stem T cells. A unique WT137–45-specific TCR showed antigen-specific responses and efficiently killed AML blasts, acute lymphoblastic leukemia blasts, and glioblastoma cells in vitro and in vivo in the absence of off-tumor toxicity. T cells engineered to express this receptor are being advanced into clinical development for AML immunotherapy and represent a candidate therapy for other WT1-expressing tumors. Alternative WT1 targets: Adoptive cell therapy using T cell receptor (TCR)–modified T cells has shown clinical success. However, it remains a challenge to find TCRs that respond to shared tumor antigens presented in common human leukocyte antigen molecules. To that end, Ruggiero et al. and Lahman et al. identified and tested TCR constructs targeting alternative epitopes in the Wilms' tumor antigen 1 (WT1) protein. Ruggiero and colleagues identified WT137–45 as a candidate peptide for TCR-based therapies and used CRISPR-Cas9 editing to target WT137–45-specific TCR sequences to the TRAC locus. Lahman and colleagues showed that, whereas a TCR-targeted WT1 epitope was lost because of immunoproteasome down-regulation, WT137–45 retains its expression and could be targeted by T cells expressing TCRs specific to that epitope, even in cancer cells that lose immunoproteasome activity. In both cases, T cells expressing WT137–45-specific TCRs controlled tumor burden in murine models. In this work, we reconstruct the unknown potential of the heat eqnarray on a three-edge compact star graph from observations of its vertices. By separation of variables, the problem is reduced to the related inverse Sturm–Liouville problems. To extract the spectral data from finite time observations, we shall use Kramer’s sampling theorem and a result of Boumenir and Tuan. IEEE 802.11e utilizes the Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) protocol to provide quality of service (QoS) support over WLANs. However, under EDCA, all video data are allocated to the same access category (AC) queue, irrespective of their coding importance. Consequently, the quality of the transmitted video may be severely degraded under heavy traffic load conditions. The literature contains several queue mapping mechanisms based on the settings of the AC queues, such as contention window size, for improving the video transmission quality over IEEE 802.11e WLANs. However, these mechanisms fail to consider the effect of the dequeuing time on the video delivery performance. Accordingly, the present study proposes a new queue mapping algorithm, designated as the throughput-based mapping algorithm (TMA), for improving the video transmission quality and reducing the video delay by dynamically allocating the video data packets to different AC queues based on their length and throughput such that the probability of the dequeuing time being reduced is increased. In implementing the proposed approach, the throughputs of the AC queues are analyzed using two Markov chain models. The simulation results show that TMA outperforms previously proposed static and dynamic queue mapping schemes in terms of a reduced AC queue length, an improved PSNR (peak signal-to-noise ratio), and a shorter transmission delay. To understand the protective effect of NF-κB signaling pathway inhibitor pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (PDTC) on mice with chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG). Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection combined with high-salt diet was used to construct the CAG mouse model, and 100 or 200 mg/kg/day PDTC was intragastrically treated for 8 weeks. Then, hematoxylin and eosin (HE) and Alcian blue-periodic acid-Schiff (AB-PAS) staining were used to observe the pathology of gastric mucosa, while immunohistochemistry, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay (ELISA) and western blotting were determined to detect the expression of related molecules. The nuclear content of NF-κB p65 in the gastric mucosa of the CAG mice was increased accompanying by the structural disorder of the gastric mucosal epithelium, inflammatory cell infiltration, intestinal metaplasia, and increased MUC2 expression, but the symptoms were alleviated after PDTC treatment. In addition, the expressions of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and COX2 in the gastric mucosa and serum of CAG mice were higher than those control mice, which were reduced in CAG mice treated with either 100 or 200 mg/kg PDTC. Furthermore, 100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg PDTC treatments reduced the serum PGE2 in CAG mice with the decreased PCNA and Ki-67 expression in gastric mucosa. The therapeutic effect of 200 mg/kg PDTC was significantly better than that of 100 mg/kg PDTC. The consensus recommendations in 2018 from The Chinese Society of Hematology (CSH) on indications, conditioning regimens and donor selection for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) facilitated the standardization of clinical practices of allo-HSCT in China and progressive integration with the world. There have been new developments since the initial publication. To integrate recent developments and further improve the consensus, a panel of experts from the CSH recently updated the consensus recommendations, which are summarized as follows: (1) there is a new algorithm for selecting appropriate donors for allo-HSCT candidates. Haploidentical donors (HIDs) are the preferred donor choice over matched sibling donors (MSDs) for patients with high-risk leukemia or elderly patients with young offspring donors in experienced centers. This replaces the previous algorithm for donor selection, which favored MSDs over HIDs. (2) Patients with refractory/relapsed lymphoblastic malignancies are now encouraged to undergo salvage treatment with novel immunotherapies prior to HSCT. (3) The consensus has been updated to reflect additional evidence for the application of allo-HSCT in specific groups of patients with hematological malignancies (intermediate-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML), favorable-risk AML with positive minimal residual disease, and standard-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia). (4) The consensus has been updated to reflect additional evidence for the application of HSCT in patients with nonmalignant diseases, such as severe aplastic anemia and inherited diseases. P2-layered metal oxide cathodes exhibit great promise for use in sodium ion batteries due to their unique two-dimensional tunnel structure, high energy density and high redox potential, etc. However, the inferior structural stability and irreversible phase change of P2-layered cathodes inhibit their development. The best effective strategies to improve their structural stability and sodium storage properties are via the optimization of the P2-layered tunnel structure and morphology by adjusting the Na+ contents, lithium substitution and rational element doping. Herein, the first sub-group element (Cu2+, Ag+ and Au+) doped Na0.5Li0.07Mn0.61Co0.16Ni0.16O2 cathodes were successfully prepared and systematically studied using operando X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Rietveld refinement with corresponding Fourier electron cloud maps and the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT). These data indicate that the lattice parameters (a/b, c and V), energy barrier, and Na+ diffraction coefficient of sub-group element-doped Na0.5Li0.07Mn0.61Co0.16Ni0.16O2 cathodes are gradually improved in line with an increase in the sub-group element radii, which facilitate the kinetics of Na+ migration due to the synergistic effect between the valence and radius. Additionally, the structural stability and sodium storage mechanism of the optimized hybrid Na0.5Li0.07Mn0.6Co0.16Ni0.16Au0.01O2 electrode was revealed via operando XRD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper is devoted to some inverse spectral problems for Dirac operators on a star graph with mixed boundary conditions in boundary vertices. By making use of Rouché's theorem, we derive the eigenvalue asymptotics of these operators. Besides, we show that for each of these operators, if the potentials are known a priori for all but one edge on the graph, then the potential on the remaining edge is uniquely determined by part of the potential on this edge and part of its spectrum. The morphology and crystallinity of electrode materials have a major effect on their charge carrier storage properties when applied in rechargeable batteries. While nanosizing electrode particles (with larger surface area) and maintaining electrode integrity are both good for performance enhancement, they seem to contradict each other and are challenging to balanced. Herein, electrode particles consisting of numerous nanograins with uniform crystalline orientation are designed to guarantee both high surface area and high structural integrity, allowing the significant improvement of Li+ storage kinetics and performance. Applying this "mesocrystallizing" strategy to an NiCo2O4‐based anode, results in various degrees of pseudocapacitance response, the long‐term cyclability and rate performance of this material are also significantly enhanced. Impressively, the mesocrystalline NiCo2O4 electrode exhibits a high specific capacity of 1403 mAh g–1 after 200 cycles at 1.6 A g–1 (a rate of 1.8 C). The growth mechanism of mesocrystalline materials with different morphologies is identified to be a topotactic structural transition process featuring a gradual edge‐to‐core corrosion process. This work presents an important synthetic clue to balance the morphology and crystallinity of battery electrode materials for their performance optimization and is expected to inspire future structural design for battery materials beyond the one prototyped here. In order to solve the shortage of xylanase substrate and screen the xylanase which could be used for the enzymatic preparation of xylo-oligosaccharides, firstly, the xylanase activity was detected by replacing the substrate specified in GB/T 23874 -- 2009 Determination of xylanase activity in feed additives with xylanase derived from bagasse and beech. At the same time, The xylanase of trichoderma and pichia pastoris was used to hydrolyze different xylan substrates and corncob xylan by enzyme. The components of the enzymatic hydrolysates were analyzed by HPLC, and the enzymatic hydrolysis conditions of corncob xylan were preliminarily optimized. The results showed that compared with the detection results of the substrate specified in GB/T 23874 -- 2009 Determination of xylanase activity in feed additives, the detection results of beech xylan (Megazyme) were basically consistent with that of the original substrate. The results of bagasse xylan were higher, but the stability was good. Both of them could replace the original substrate for the detection of xylanase activity. By the analysis of HPLC, compared with trichoderma xylanase, the content of xylobiose was higher in the hydrolysis of different substrates by pichia pastoris xylanase, while the content of xylose was opposite. Three kinds of xylanase were used to hydrolyze corncob xylan simultaneously. More than 90% of the products of corncob xylan hydrolyzed by pichia pastoris xylanase were xylo-oligosaccharide, 72. 54% and 17. 86% of which was respectively xylobiose and xylotriose. being close to the proportion of xylo-oligosaccharide in the products hydrolyzed by Shearzyme 500L xylanase and higher than that by trichoderma xylanase, indicating that it had the application potential in the preparation of xylo-oligosaccharide. The optimal conditions for the hydrolysis of corncob xylan by pichia pastoris xylanase were as follows: reaction temperature of 60°C, pH of 4. 8, the concentration of corncob substrate of 0. 10 g · mL-1 and hydrolysis time of 24 h. Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress occurs when protein folding or maturation is disrupted. A malfunction in the ER stress response can lead to cell death and has been observed in many neurological diseases. However, how the ER stress response is regulated in neuronal cells remains largely unclear. Here, we studied an E3 ubiquitin ligase named neural precursor cell expressed developmentally down‐regulated protein 4‐like (Nedd4‐2). Nedd4‐2 is highly expressed in the brain and has a high affinity toward ubiquitinating membrane‐bound proteins. We first utilized unbiased proteomic profiling with ultra‐performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC–MS/MS) of isolated membrane fractions from mouse whole brains to identify novel targets of Nedd4‐2. Through this screen, we found that the expression and ubiquitination of ribosomal proteins are regulated by Nedd4‐2 and we confirmed an association between Nedd4‐2 and ribosomes through ribosome sedimentation and polysome profiling. Further, we utilized immunoprecipitation and western blotting to show that induction of ER stress promotes an association between Nedd4‐2 and ribosomal proteins, which is mediated through dephosphorylation of Nedd4‐2 at serine‐342. This increased interaction between Nedd4‐2 and ribosomal proteins in turn mediates ER stress‐associated translational suppression. In summary, the results of this study demonstrate a novel regulatory mechanism underlying the ER stress response and a novel function of Nedd4‐2 in translational control. The decomposition reaction of phosphate rock under the action of microwave plasma was investigated. Phosphate rock and its decomposition products were characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS), and chemical analysis. The measurements of electron temperature (Te) and electron density (Ne) of plasma plume under atmospheric pressure were carried out using optical emission spectroscopy(OES). The electron temperature (Te) was determined based on the calculation of the relative intensity of the O II (301.91 nm) and O II (347.49 nm) spectral lines. Correspondingly, electron densities were obtained using the Saha ionization equation which was based on the C I (247.86 nm) line and the C II (296.62 nm) line under the assumption of local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE). The relationship between the relative intensity of the active components and the gas output was studied by the spectrometer. Finally the reaction mechanism of the decomposition of the phosphate rock under the action of the atmospheric pressure microwave plasma was proposed. The results showed that with the increase of CO flow and microwave power, the electron temperature and electron density in the plasma show a decreasing and increasing trend.
