SUMMARY: Rhus chinensis Mill., an economically valuable Anacardiaceae species, is parasitized by the galling aphid Schlechtendalia chinensis, resulting in the formation of the Chinese gallnut (CG). Here, we report a chromosomal‐level genome assembly of R. chinensis, with a total size of 389.40 Mb and scaffold N50 of 23.02 Mb. Comparative genomic and transcriptome analysis revealed that the enhanced structure of CG and nutritional metabolism contribute to improving the adaptability of R. chinensis to S. chinensis by supporting CG and galling aphid growth. CG was observed to be abundant in hydrolysable tannins (HT), particularly gallotannin and its isomers. Tandem repeat clusters of dehydroquinate dehydratase/shikimate dehydrogenase (DQD/SDH) and serine carboxypeptidase‐like (SCPL) and their homologs involved in HT production were determined as specific to HT‐rich species. The functional differentiation of DQD/SDH tandem duplicate genes and the significant contraction in the phenylalanine ammonia‐lyase (PAL) gene family contributed to the accumulation of gallic acid and HT while minimizing the production of shikimic acid, flavonoids, and condensed tannins in CG. Furthermore, we identified one UDP glucosyltransferase (UGT84A), three carboxylesterase (CXE), and six SCPL genes from conserved tandem repeat clusters that are involved in gallotannin biosynthesis and hydrolysis in CG. We then constructed a regulatory network of these genes based on co‐expression and transcription factor motif analysis. Our findings provide a genomic resource for the exploration of the underlying mechanisms of plant‐galling insect interaction and highlight the importance of the functional divergence of tandem duplicate genes in the accumulation of secondary metabolites. Summary: Community-acquired bacterial meningitis (CABM) is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in children. The epidemiology of CABM is regional and highly dynamic. To clarify the diagnostic status and epidemiological characteristics of children with CABM in this region, and pay attention to the disease burden, so as to provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of CABM. By retrospective case analysis, the clinical data of 918 CABM cases in children aged 0–14 years in Zhejiang Province from January, 2019 to December, 2020 were collected. The etiological diagnosis rate of CABM in children was 23.1%, the annual incidence rate 4.42–6.15/100,000, the annual mortality rate 0.06–0.09/100,000,the cure and improvement rate 94.4%, and the case fatality rate 1.4%. The total incidence of neuroimaging abnormalities was 20.6%. The median length of stay for CABM children was 20(16) days, with an average cost of 21,531(24,835) yuan. In addition, the incidence rate was decreased with age. Escherichia coli(E.coli) and group B Streptococcus agalactiae(GBS) were the principal pathogens in CABM infant<3 months(43.3%, 34.1%), and Streptococcus pneumoniae(S. pneumoniae) was the most common pathogen in children ≥ 3 months(33.9%). In conclusion, the annual incidence and mortality of CABM in children aged 0–14 years in Zhejiang Province are at intermediate and low level. Background: Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a rare autosomal dominant disease with high penetrance caused by a germline variant of TP53 gene. We report the first case of endometrial cancer after yolk sac tumor with LFS. Case presentation: The presented female patient underwent right adnexectomy at age 23 because of a yolk sac tumor of the ovary. At the age of 27, the patient was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma, received cytoreductive surgery and chemotherapy. Given that her personal cancer history along with a strong family history of cancer, her father passing away from lung cancer at age 48 and her grandmother dying of ovarian cancer at age 50, the patient was referred for genetic counseling and testing. Genetic screening revealed a heterozygous pathogenic TP53 c.844C > T, p.(R282 W) with NM_000546.5 variant, a class 5 (C5) variant. This is the first reported case of a yolk sac tumor accompanied by subsequent endometrial cancer that is associated with LFS. Conclusions: We reported a first case of an endometrial cancer after yolk sac tumor patient with a tumor family history of harboring the germline TP53 pathogenic variation which expanded types of tumor that can be presented in patients with LFS. This case highlights the importance of genetic testing for patients with malignant tumors, as well as patients with a family history of malignant tumors. Two new cyclotrypyamine alkaloids equisetinines A and B, as well as three known alkaloids (3–5) were isolated from the stems of Ephedra equisetina Bunge. Their structures were characterized by spectroscopic methods, and the absolute configurations of the new compounds were determined by interpretation of their electronic circular dichroism. Objective: To investigate the common pathogens of viral encephalitis (VE) in children, and to provide guidance for the empirical diagnosis and treatment of patients with VE. Methods: A total of 227 cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples were collected from pediatric patients with VE in Zhejiang province from January 2018 to December 2019. The samples were tested using multiplex and singleplex Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) with primers specific to enterovirus (EV), varicella-zoster virus (VZV), mumps virus (MuV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1)/type 2 (HSV-2), Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), and human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6). The data of the two analyses were compared and then verified using Sanger sequencing. Results: Of the 227 CSF samples, 90 were shown to be positive for multiplex RT-PCR with a positivity rate of 39.65% and a 95% confidence interval (33.2%, 46.1%). EV was the most common cause of VE, followed by EBV, HHV-6, MuV, CMV, VZV, and HSV-1. Most included cases occurred in summer, accounting for 49.78% of all cases. For EV, EBV, and HSV-2, multiplex RT-PCR showed a positivity rate of 34.36%, which was not statistically different from that of 30.4% shown by singleplex RT-PCR. The sequences of EV, EBV, VZV, MuV, CMV, HSV-1, HHV-6, and HSV-2 were confirmed by sequencing the PCR products obtained from multiplex and singleplex PCR. To investigate the role of miR-BART4-3p in EBV-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) and its regulation of cell proliferation, apoptosis, and migration by targeting AXL in GC. Quantitative real-time PCR and western blot were used to detect the expression of AXL. The methylation status of AXL gene promoter region was determined by bisulfite sequencing PCR. Luciferase reporter assay was used to detect whether miR-BART4-3p targets AXL. The key molecules of EMT and PI3K/AKT pathway were used to examine by western blot. CCK8, Transwell, and flow cytometry were used to detect the phenotypic gastric cancer cells after interference with AXL and miR-BART4-3p. EBV infection inhibited the expression of AXL in GC cells and the inhibition was not caused by the change of promoter methylation status. MiR-BART4-3p directly targeted AXL. Moreover, both inhibition of miR-BART4-3p and AXL inhibited cell proliferation and migration and promoted cell apoptosis. In addition, E-cadherin, Vimentin, ZEB1, and p-AKT were found to be the downstream molecules of the miR-BART4-3p/AXL pathway. The change of promoter methylation status was not the reason for the downregulation of AXL expression in EBV-positive cells. Spatial variations in grain size parameters can reflect river sediment transport patterns and depositional dynamics. Therefore, 22 surficial sediment samples taken from the Heihe River and its cascade reservoirs were analyzed to better understand the impact of cascade reservoir construction on sediment transport patterns in inland rivers in China. The results showed that the longitudinal distribution of sediment grain size in the Heihe River was significantly affected by the influence of the cascade reservoirs. The retention rate in the cascade reservoir of the Heihe River reached 79% (193.53 Mt/year), which caused most of the fine sand to accumulate in the reservoir, and the sediment fining degree reached approximately 50%. However, the water discharged from the dam caused serious erosion of the riverbed and coarsening of the sediment, and the coarsening degree was approximately 500%. The backwater zone of the reservoir was influenced by both backwater and released water, and the coarsening degree of sediment was approximately 101%. Sedimentary environmental analysis revealed that the characteristics of the sediment grain size in an upstream tributary of the Heihe River were more influenced by source material than by hydrodynamic conditions, while the grain size characteristics of the mainstream sediments were controlled mainly by hydrodynamic conditions. The characteristics of sediment transport in different reaches of the Heihe River were studied, and the results may provide references for the operation of cascade reservoirs and the sediment control of reservoirs. The Heihe River is a typical inland river under increasing anthropogenic pressure. To explore the characteristics of the macrobenthic assemblages and their relationships with environmental factors in the upstream and midstream regions of this basin, abiotic conditions and macrobenthic assemblages were investigated in the summers of 2018 and 2019. A total of 50 species were collected, and Arthropoda and mollusks were the dominant groups. A significant increase in standing stock was observed from the upstream to midstream, and predators (PR) were the main functional feeding group. A one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that the Shannon-Wiener index and Margalef's index values significantly differed at the spatial scale (P < 0.05). A redundancy analysis (RDA) and Pearson correlation analysis showed that the spatial heterogeneity of the macrobenthos was influenced by the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), water temperature (WT), total nitrogen (TN), salinity, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen (DO), and potassium permanganate index (CODMn) (P < 0.05). Aim: Cervical cancer is a common malignant carcinoma of the gynecological tract with high morbidity and mortality. Therefore, it is crucial to elucidate the pathogenesis, prevention, diagnosis and prognosis of cervical cancer by searching for the involved key genes.Method: In this study, the alternative splicing (AS) events of 253 patients with cervical cancer were analyzed, and 41,766 AS events were detected in 9961 genes. Univariate analysis was performed to screen prognostic AS events. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis was used to identify the pathways in which these AS events were involved.Results: We found that exon skip (ES) is the main AS event in patients with cervical cancer. There was pronounced consistency between the genes involved in overall survival and those involved in recurrence. At the same time, we found that a gene may exhibit several different types of AS events, and these different AS events may be related to prognosis. Four characteristic genes, HSPA14, SDHAF2, CAMKK2 and TM9SF1, that can be used as prognostic markers for cervical cancer were selected.Conclusion: The importance of AS events in the development of cervical cancer and prediction of prognosis was revealed by a large amount of data at the whole genome level, which may provide a potential target for cervical cancer treatment. Spermatogenesis is a complicated process that is tightly regulated by the well-coordinated expression of a series of genes in the testes. Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 49 (ANKRD49), an evolutionarily conserved protein highly expressed in the testes, is mainly found in spermatogonia, spermatocytes, and round spermatids. However, the exact function of ANKRD49 in spermatogenesis has remained elusive. In this study, we sought to investigate the role of ANKRD49 in apoptosis and determine the mechanism underlying this process in male germ cell-derived GC-1 cells. Nuclear staining with Hoechst 33258 and annexin V-FITC/PI, as well as analysis of caspase 3 activity, mitochondrial membrane potential, and apoptotic protein expression, showed that etoposide-induced apoptosis was attenuated by ANKRD49 overexpression but promoted by RNA interference-induced ANKRD49 knockdown. Furthermore, assessment of the levels of caspase 9, caspase 8, and proteins of the Bcl-2 family revealed ANKRD49 to be involved in an intrinsic apoptosis pathway. Examination of the subcellular distribution of the NF-κB p65 subunit after treatment with an NF-κB signaling inhibitor or p65 small interfering RNA demonstrated that ANKRD49 modulated etoposide-induced GC-1 cell apoptosis via the NF-κB pathway. Background: Ovarian cancer is one of the three major malignant tumors of the female reproductive system, and the mortality associated with ovarian cancer ranks first among gynecologic malignant tumors. The pathogenesis of ovarian cancer is not yet clearly defined but elucidating this process would be of great significance for clinical diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. For this study, we used bioinformatics to identify the key pathogenic genes and reveal the potential molecular mechanisms of ovarian cancer; we used immunohistochemistry to validate them. Methods: We analyzed and integrated four gene expression profiles (GSE14407, GSE18520, GSE26712, and GSE54388), which were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, with the aim of obtaining a common differentially expressed gene (DEG). Then, we performed Gene Ontology (GO) analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Gene and Genome (KEGG) pathway analysis using the Database for Annotation, Visualization, and Integrated Discovery (DAVID). We then established a protein–protein interaction (PPI) network of the DEGs through the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes (STRING) database and selected hub genes. Finally, survival analysis of the hub genes was performed using a Kmplotter online tool. Results: A total of 226 DEGs were detected after the analysis of the four gene expression profiles; of these, 87 were upregulated genes and 139 were downregulated. GO analysis results showed that DEGs were significantly enriched in biological processes including the G2/M transition of the mitotic cell cycle, the apoptotic process, cell proliferation, blood coagulation, and positive regulation of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. KEGG analysis results showed that DEGs were particularly enriched in the cell cycle, the p53 signaling pathway, the Wnt signaling pathway, the Ras signaling pathway, the Rap1 signaling pathway, and tyrosine metabolism. We selected 50 hub genes from the PPI network, which had 147 nodes and 655 edges, and 30 of them were associated with the prognosis of ovarian cancer. We performed immunohistochemistry on phosphoserine aminotransferase 1 (PSAT1). PSAT1 was highly expressed in cancer tissues, and its expression level was related to clinical stage and tissue differentiation in ovarian cancer. A Cox proportional risk model suggested that high expression of PSAT1 and late clinical stage were independent risk factors for survival and prognosis of ovarian cancer patients. Conclusion: The detection of DEGs using bioinformatics analysis might be crucial to understanding the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer, especially the molecular mechanisms of its development. The association between PSAT1 expression and the occurrence, development, and prognosis of ovarian cancer was further verified by immunohistochemistry. The PSAT1 expression can be used as a prognostic marker to provide a potential target for the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer. We used bioinformatics methods to integrate multiple ovarian cancer data sets in the Gene Expression Omnibus database to find core genes involved in the development of ovarian cancer. The Kaplan–Meier plotter and Oncomine databases were used to verify the prognosis and expression of the research gene phosphoserine aminotransferase 1 (PSAT1). The expression of PSAT1 in ovarian cancer was further verified by immunohistochemistry and its relationships with clinical pathological parameters and survival prognosis of ovarian cancer were analyzed. PSAT1 expression associates with distinct patterns of genomic alterations and biological process were performed to explore the possible mechanisms of PSAT1 in tumorigenesis. Background: Transmembrane protein with epidermal growth factor-like and two follistatin-like domains 1 (TMEFF1) has an anticarcinogenic effect in brain tumors. However, little is known about the role of TMEFF1 in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Materials and methods: TMEFF1 expression in EOC was detected by immunohistochemistry; its relationship with clinical pathological parameters and its influence on prognosis were analyzed. The MTT, scratch, Transwell assays, and flow cytometry were used to assess the malignant behavior of ovarian cancer cell. Changes in node proteins in MAPK and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways and the expression of epithelial–mesenchymal transformation markers were measured by Western blot. The regulatory effect of p53 on TMEFF1 was verified by chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay and Western blot. Results: TMEFF1 expression was higher in the EOC group than in the borderline and benign tumor groups and normal ovary group; its high expression was significantly related to International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage (P=0.024) and independently predicted shorter overall survival (P<0.01). TMEFF1 overexpression in ovarian cancer cells induced increased cellular proliferation, migration, and invasion but reduced apoptosis. In addition, the percentage of phosphorylated node proteins in MAPK and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways increased significantly. The expression of E-cadherin decreased but that of vimentin and N-cadherin increased. After the addition of MAPK (PD98059) and PI3K (GDC-0941) pathway inhibitors, ovarian cancer cells overexpressing TMEFF1 showed suppressed malignant behavior. TMEFF1 protein expression in an ovarian cancer cell lines (CAOV3 and ES-2) was downregulated after the inhibition of TP53. The transcription factor, p53, bound the promoter region of the TMEFF1 gene according to ChIP. Conclusion: TMEFF1 is a carcinogenic gene in ovarian cancer and can be regulated by p53 transcription. Through MAPK and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways, TMEFF1 promotes the malignant behavior in EOC. Therefore, TMEFF1 may be considered as a potential therapeutic target for ovarian cancer. Aim: The aim of this study was to explore the expression of peroxiredoxin1 (PRDX1) in epithelial ovarian cancer, analyze the relationship between PRDX1 and clinicopathologic parameters of patients with ovarian cancer, including their prognosis, and describe changes and the mechanisms involved in malignant biologic behavior of ovarian cancer cells when PRDX1 expression is inhibited. Methods: The expression of PRDX1 was detected immunohistochemically in 15 samples of normal ovarian tissue, 21 benign, 11 borderline, and 101 malignant epithelial ovarian tumors. Changes in ovarian cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis before and after inhibiting PRDX1 expression were assessed by cell function assay. Additionally, gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) of PRDX1 was performed by the Cancer Genome Atlas database. A protein–protein interaction network was then constructed and a pathway function analysis of the genes in the network was conducted. Results: PRDX1 expression was mainly localized to the cytoplasm, as well as the nucleus of cells. The expression rate of PRDX1 in epithelial ovarian malignant tissues (96.04%) was sig-nificantly higher than that in borderline (72.72%) and benign (57.14%) epithelial ovarian tumors, and normal ovarian tissue (20%; all P,0.05). Cox multivariate regression analysis indicated that advanced clinical stage, low tissue differentiation, and high expression of PRDX1 were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer (all P,0.05). Cell function assay verified that the decreased expression of PRDX1 inhibited ovarian cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis. GSEA analysis indicated that PRDX1 was significantly related to the Wnt signaling pathway. Western blot analysis confirmed that PRDX1 could regulate the expression of β-catenin in the Wnt pathway. Conclusion: Decreased expression of PRDX1 can attenuate cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis of ovarian cancer cells. The amide derivatives were synthesized from isopimaric acid and characterized by spectroscopy. These amides were examined in vitro for their cytotoxic activity against four cancer cell lines. The majority of the screened compounds displayed better inhibitory activity than isopimaric acid, and many amides displayed promising cytotoxic activity against hepatocarcinoma (HepG-2), breast carcinoma (MDA-MB-231), and prostate adenocarcinoma (PC-3). It was found that the substituent type, number, and position in the benzene and heterocyclic rings have an important influence on cytotoxicity against the three tested cancer cell lines. Thiazinogeldanamycin (2) was identified fromStreptomyces hygroscopicus17997 at the late stage of the fermentation. The pH was firstly proposed as an important factor in the biosynthesis of it. It was verified that2was produced by direct chemical reactions between geldanamycin (1,GDM) and cysteine or aminoethanethiol hydrochloride at pH > 7in vitro. The proposed synthesis pathway for compound2was also discussed. Eleven new C-19-modified GDM derivatives, including five stable hydroquinone form derivatives, were synthesized, most of which exhibited desirable properties such as lower cytotoxicity, increased water solubility, and potent antitumor activity. Toxoplasma gondii is a ubiquitous protozoan parasite that can infect all warm-blooded animals, including both mammals and birds. Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) localises to the surface of T. gondii tachyzoites and modulates the interactions between parasite and host cells. In this study, the protective efficacy of recombinant T. gondii PDI (rTgPDI) as a vaccine candidate against T. gondii infection in BALB/c mice was evaluated. rTgPDI was expressed and purified from Escherichia coli. Five groups of animals (10 animals/group) were immunised with 10, 20, 30, 40 μg of rTgPDI per mouse or with PBS as a control group. All immunisations were performed via the nasal route at 1, 14 and 21 days. Two weeks after the last immunisation, the immune responses were evaluated by lymphoproliferative assays and by cytokine and antibody measurements. The immunised mice were challenged with tachyzoites of the virulent T. gondii RH strain on the 14th day after the last immunisation. Following the challenge, the tachyzoite loads in tissues were assessed, and animal survival time was recorded. Our results showed that the group immunised with 30 μg rTgPDI showed significantly higher levels of specific antibodies against the recombinant protein, a strong lymphoproliferative response and significantly higher levels of IgG2a, IFN-gamma (IFN-γ), IL-2 and IL-4 production compared with other doses and control groups. While no changes in IL-10 levels were detected. After being challenged with T. gondii tachyzoites, the numbers of tachyzoites in brain and liver tissues from the rTgPDI group were significantly reduced compared with those of the control group, and the survival time of the mice in the rTgPDI group was longer than that of mice in the control group. Our results showed that immunisation with rTgPDI elicited a protective immune reaction and suggested that rTgPDI might represent a promising vaccine candidate for combating toxoplasmosis. Objective The aim of the present study is to examine the relationship between obesity and depressive symptoms and to test the 'Jolly Fat' hypothesis among older Chinese. Methods A total of 736 rural Chinese aged 60 years and older participated in this cross-sectional study. Body mass index (BMI = kg/m2) was calculated from the subjects' measured weight (kg) and height (meter). Depressive symptoms were assessed using the 30-item Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-30), with a cut-off point of 11. Results Among 736 total participants, the prevalence of depressive symptoms was 24.1% in men and 27.9% in women. A trend about depressive symptoms decreased with increasing BMI was found in men ( χ2 trend = 5.74, df = 1, p = 0.01). A weak inverse linear trend between obesity and depressive symptoms was observed among subjects. In men, obese group was less likely to suffer from depressive symptoms compared with normal weight group before or after adjustment for confounders, with odds ratios of 0.32 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.12-0.85) and 0.28 (95% CI: 0.09-0.85), respectively. However, the association between BMI and depressive symptoms in women showed no significant differences. Conclusions Our results supported the 'Jolly Fat' hypothesis only in rural older Chinese men, but not in women. Gender differences existed in the relationship between obesity and depressive symptoms. This study investigated the expression of miRNA-221 in asthmatics in order to determine whether miRNA-221 plays a role in the development of asthma. Real-time PCR was used to detect the miRNA-221 in both asthmatic and control subjects. In addition, airway inflammation was evaluated by cell counting and tissue biopsy in the OVA-induced murine asthma model. miRNA-221 was differentially expressed in asthmatics and control subjects, and miRNA-221 blockade resulted in a reduction of airway inflammation in the OVA-induced murine asthma model. Polyurethane/epoxy resin (PU/EP)/dimethyl sulfoxide modified kaolin (PU/EP/K-DMSO) interpenetrating network composites were prepared by in situ intercalation method. FT-IR showed that hydrogen bonding existed between kaolin and PU/EP matrix. The structure of composites was characterized by XRD, SEM and TEM. The result indicated that: K-DMSO by a nanometer size and homodisperse in the PU/EP matrix. The analysis of images obtained by polarizing microscope showed that bubble diameter has decreased with the K-DMSO added. Mechanical test results indicated that: the tensile and compression strength of the PU/EP/K-DMSO composites are superior to those of the PU/EP IPNs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) on drug resistance and its underlying mechanisms. The associations among proteins were detected by immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence assays. Then, stably transfected cell lines CAOV3-HE4-L and CAOV3-A2-L expressing HE4 short hairpin (sh)RNAs and ANXA2 shRNAs, respectively, were constructed. MTT assay, immunocytochemistry, western blotting, reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) and flow cytometry were employed to examine drug sensitivity, as well as the expression and activity of P-glycoprotein (P-gp). HE4 and P-gp in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues were assessed via immunohistochemistry. MicroRNAs that targeted the P-gp gene, ABCB1, were predicted using bioinformatics methods, and their expression was evaluated by RT-qPCR. The common signaling pathways shared by HE4, ANXA2 and P-gp were selected by Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA). The interaction of HE4, ANXA2 and P-gp were confirmed. P-gp expression was positively associated with HE4 and ANXA2 expression, respectively. Moreover, it was observed that there was no significant rescue of P-gp expression in CAOV3-A2-L cells following the administration of active HE4 protein. In addition, the expression of HE4 and P-gp in ovarian cancer tissues of drug-resistant patients were higher compared with that of the drug-sensitive group (P<0.05). Furthermore, the results revealed that hsa-miR-129-5p was significantly increased accompanied by decreased HE4 or ANXA2 expression and P-gp expression in CAOV3-HE4-L and CAOV3-A2-L cells. GSEA analyses disclosed that HE4, ANXA2 and P-gp genes were commonly enriched in the signaling pathway involved in regulating the actin cytoskeleton. These results indicated that HE4 promotes P-gp-mediated drug resistance in ovarian cancer cells through the interactions with ANXA2, and the underlying mechanism may be associated with decreased expression of hsa-miR-129-5p and dysregulation of the actin cytoskeleton signaling pathway. The purpose of this study was to improve the solubility of vortioxetine by crystal engineering principles. In this paper, three C2-C4 straight-chain dicarboxylic acid salt hydrates of vortioxetine (VOT-OA, VOT-MA-H2O, and VOT-SUA-H2O, VOT = vortioxetine, OA = Oxalic acid, MA = malonic acid, SUA = succinic acid) were synthesized and characterized by single X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, and differential scanning calorimetry. The single crystal structure of three salts reveals that vortioxetine has torsional flexibility, which can encourage VOT to allow combination with aliphatic dicarboxylic acids through N+-H···O hydrogen bonds. The solubility of all salts exhibits a dramatic increase in distilled water, especially for VOT-MA-H2O salt, where it shows the highest solubility, by 96-fold higher compared with pure vortioxetine. The magnetic and iron vacancy orders in superconducting (Tl,Rb)2Fe4Se5 single-crystals are investigated by using a high-pressure neutron diffraction technique. Similar to the temperature effect, the block antiferromagnetic order gradually decreases upon increasing pressure while the Fe vacancy superstructural order remains intact before its precipitous disappearance at the critical pressure Pc = 8.3 GPa. Combined with previously determined Pc for superconductivity, our phase diagram under pressure reveals the concurrence of the block AFM order, the √5 × √5 iron vacancy order and superconductivity for the 245 superconductor.
