Background: Glucose metabolic disorder is associated with the risk of heart failure (HF). Adiposity is a comorbidity that is inextricably linked with abnormal glucose metabolism in older individuals. However, the effect of adiposity on the association between glucose metabolic disorder and HF risk, and the underlying mechanism remain unclear. Methods: A total of 13,251 participants aged ≥ 60 years from a cohort study were categorized into euglycemia, prediabetes, uncontrolled diabetes, and well-controlled diabetes. Adiposity was assessed using body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), and visceral fat area (VFA). Adiposity-associated metabolic activities were evaluated using adiponectin-to-leptin ratio (ALR), homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), and triglyceride-glucose index (TyG). The first occurrence of HF served as the outcome during the follow-up period. Results: A total of 1,138 participants developed HF over the course of an average follow-up period of 10.9 years. The rate of incident HF occurrence was higher in prediabetes, uncontrolled diabetes, and well-controlled diabetes participants compared to that in euglycemia participants. However, the high rates were significantly attenuated by BMI, VFA, and WHR. For WHR in particular, the hazard ratio for incident HF was 1.18 (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.03, 1.35, Padj.=0.017) in prediabetes, 1.59 (95% CI: 1.34, 1.90, Padj.<0.001) in uncontrolled diabetes, and 1.10 (95% CI: 0.85, 1.43, Padj.=0.466) in well-controlled diabetes. The population attributable risk percentage for central obesity classified by WHR for incident HF was 30.3% in euglycemia, 50.0% in prediabetes, 48.5% in uncontrolled diabetes, and 54.4% in well-controlled diabetes. Adiposity measures, especially WHR, showed a significant interaction with glucose metabolic disorder in incident HF (all Padj.<0.001). ALR was negatively associated and HOMA-IR and TyG were positively associated with BMI, WHR, VFA, and incident HF (all Padj.<0.05). ALR, HOMA-IR, and TyG mediated the associations for BMI, WHR and VFA with incident HF (all Padj.<0.05). Conclusions: Adiposity attenuated the association of glucose metabolic disorder with incident HF. The results also showed that WHR may be an appropriate indicator for evaluating adiposity in older individuals. Adiposity-associated metabolic activities may have a bridging role in the process of adiposity attenuating the association between glucose metabolic disorder and incident HF. Sulfur doping in carbonaceous anode is a popular method to improve the sodium storing performance. Regulating the C/S bond effect of carbon atom with doped sulfur atom could understand and develop superior carbonaceous anode for sodium‐ion batteries. Therefore, this study designed porous hollow carbon nanocages with synergistically‐doped C/S bonds (C‐S/C = S) by secondary‐sulfidation. The secondary‐sulfidation is conducive to the different bond formation of sulfur atom with carbon skeleton and adjust the structure via removed other groups. Thus, the C‐S/C = S anode with synergistically C‐S and C = S bonds delivered a reversible capacity of 307 mAh g‐1 at 1.0 A g−1 with initial coulomb efficiency of 80.15%, a stable cycle life of 2000 cycles, and a fast charge capability of 186 mAh g−1 at 20.0 A g−1 in sodium‐ion batteries. Through characterization and simulation results, the doped C‐S/C = S bonds creates more active sites and ion diffusion channels in carbon skeleton for enhancing the fast and durable kinetics of sodium‐ion. To determine the influence of pig type (Landrace, Wujin, or Tibetan fragrant) on the quality of Xuanwei ham, we measured the ham pH, color, fat content, and moisture content; used an E-nose (a device intended to detect odors or flavors); and analyzed flavoring substances using headspace solid-phase microextraction–gas chromatography, free amino acids using high-performance liquid chromatography, and microbial diversity using high-throughput sequencing. The ham types differed from each other in these attributes. The moisture and fat contents of Landrace pig ham were significantly lower than those of the other pig types, the brightness values of the Tibetan fragrant pig ham were significantly lower than those of the other pig types, and the redness values of the Landrace and Wujin pig hams were significantly higher than those of the Tibetan fragrant pig ham. The essential amino acid contents, e-wind odor response values, and volatile flavor substances of Wujin pig hams were significantly higher than those of the Tibetan fragrant pig ham, and the relative aldehyde contents of Wujin pig ham were significantly higher than those of the other pig types. The dominant microbial phyla in each ham type were assessed based on the species commonness, composition, and diversity and included taxa such as Actinobacteria and Ascomycetes and thick-walled bacteria such as Orphanomyces, Grass Spirochaetes, and Pseudoalteromonas. The microbial diversity and richness were the greatest in the Wujin pig ham. Of the three pigs, we conclude that the Wujin pig produces the best Xuanwei ham. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Hydrogel-based sensors commonly manifest pronounced swelling in aqueous milieus, a phenomenon that can precipitate deterioration of mechanical performance and distortion in output signals, thereby markedly constraining their expansive applicability. Drawing inspiration from the hierarchical heterogeneous cross-linking architecture inherent in biological tissues, an anti-swelling supramolecular hydrogel with robustness, fast self-recovery, and strain-sensitivity was meticulously engineered through leveraging the principles of multiple dynamic interaction matching. The heterogeneous structure for the hydrogels was constructed by integrating both 'rigid' carboxyl-Zr4+ coordination complexes and 'soft' hydrophobic micro-regions mediated by electrostatic interactions into the system. The synergistic interplay between reversible rigid and flexible cross-linking endowed the supramolecular hydrogels with robust mechanical properties, evidenced by a strength of 3.64 MPa, toughness of 6.83 MJ m−3, and complete self-recovery within 7 minutes, alongside anti-swelling capabilities in various aqueous environments, including acidic, alkaline, and saline solutions. Moreover, the hydrogels developed desirable sensing properties on account of the contribution of dynamic ions (Br−, Cl−, and Zr4+), enabling accurate signal output under diversified frequencies and strains. Consequently, these hydrogels were adapted to construct underwater sensors capable of transmitting information through Morse code. This bio-inspired design strategy achieved the perfect combination of mechanical, anti-swelling, and sensing properties in the hydrogels, offering novel insights into the fabrication of underwater sensors. During the architectural design phase, the decisions made have a crucial impact on developing complex systems. These decisions often limit the performance bounds and steer subsequent research directions. However, the multitude of architectural components and intricate interrelationships cause component combination explosion. Additionally, the diverse requirements of different stakeholders add complexity to determining the weight of indicators, posing challenges to complex system architecture generation and trade-off. This paper proposes a method for exploring the architectural design space in complex systems realisation, which aims to resolve issues related to the formal representation of architectures, selection within the architectural design space, and trade-offs. Firstly, the architectural design space is represented by formulating and mathematically describing a morphological matrix. Then, the construction of the Constraint Satisfaction Problem model aims to achieve a reduction in the scale of the design space. Moreover, through the evolutionary algorithm, the Pareto front is identified. Weight sensitivity analysis and the improved Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution method are combined to assist designers in finding a satisfactory architecture from the design space with many combinations. At present, the challenge of high-performance flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors remains the combination of high sensitivity and a wide monitoring range. The micro-morphological engineering of sensing materials will greatly contribute to the design and development of flexible piezoresistive sensors. Therefore, a flexible piezoresistive sensor based on a multi-layer interlocking "sandwich" structure was developed. The structure is assembled from polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/carbon nanotube (CNT) films with microdome arrays and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)/Ti3C2Tx MXene nanofiber films. The multi-layer interlocking structure not only significantly increases the contact area and sensitivity between layers, but also greatly improves mechanical and electrical stability. The results show that the PDMS/CNT–TPU/MXene pressure sensor has a high sensitivity of 82.17 kPa−1, a wide pressure detection range of 0–25 kPa, an extremely short response and recovery time of 100 ms, and an excellent dynamic cycling stability of more than 2000 cycles. In addition, the sensor has been used to perform comprehensive human motion monitoring, such as joint flexion, gait monitoring, and gesture recognition, demonstrating its potential for applications in health monitoring, wearable devices, and human–computer interaction. Metal sulfides have been regarded as highly competitive anode materials for fast sodium storage due to their excellent redox reversibility and comparatively great electron properties. Nevertheless, metal sulfides suffer from serious structure collapse and capacity attenuation during fast cycling. Herein, the iron-based sulfide polycrystalline phase material grown in situ on hollow carbon nanofibers was synthesized (NHCFs-Fe7S8/FeS2). The construction of the polycrystalline phase is an effective strategy to enhance electron and ion transport, and improve the reaction kinetics of sodium ions. Meanwhile, the construction of a carbon network can effectively alleviate the volume expansion in the process of fast charge/discharge and maintain the stability of the structure. Thanks to these unique characteristics, NHCFs-Fe7S8/FeS2 exhibits a significantly enhanced electrochemical performance, which reveals outstanding long-term cycling stability (595.7 mA h g−1 at 1.0 A g−1 after 1000 cycles) and rate properties (154.7 mA h g−1 at 50.0 A g−1 and 107.0 mA h g−1 at 100.0 A g−1). The structure decoration method of metal sulfides can provide effective guidance for the design of other high-performance electrode materials for fast-charging sodium-ion batteries. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) represents a substantial global health challenge, with its impact on mortality and morbidity rates surpassing that of cancer. The present study was designed to explore the cardioprotective properties of anthocyanin (ACN), a compound derived from black barley, against oxidative stress-induced damage in myocardial cells and to uncover the molecular mechanisms at play. Utilizing both in vitro and in vivo experimental models, our findings indicate that ACN notably reduced cell damage caused by oxidative stress and effectively prevented apoptosis. High-throughput RNA sequencing analysis has shed light on the mechanism by which ACN achieves its antioxidative stress effects, implicating the PTEN-Akt signaling pathway. ACN was found to modulate PTEN expression levels, which in turn influences the Akt pathway, leading to a reduction in apoptotic processes. This novel insight lays the groundwork for the potential clinical utilization of ACN in the management of CVD. While this study has shed light on some of the functions of ACN, it is important to recognize that natural compounds often interact with multiple molecular targets and engage in intricate signaling cascades. Future research endeavors will concentrate on further elucidating the regulatory mechanisms by which ACN influences PTEN expression, with the goal of enhancing our comprehension and expanding the therapeutic potential of ACN in the treatment of cardiovascular conditions. During the service life of flange assembly components, factors such as corrosion and vibration can lead to washer damage and loosening of fastening bolts, resulting in fluid leakage. Traditional inspection methods are not applicable for assessing the extent of washer damage and bolt loosening due to the non-dismantlable nature of flanges and the challenges posed by the working environment. To address these issues, this paper proposes a detection method utilizing phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT). By analyzing the peak and side-lobe states of reflected signals, the extent of washer damage can be determined. A mathematical relationship is established between the depth of washer defects and the peak reflection amplitude, enabling the assessment of washer damage in flange structures. This method facilitates the measurement of the positions of washer damage and bolt loosening in flange structures, providing technical support for practical industrial applications. In order to establish a set of perfect heterojunction designs and characterization schemes, step‐scheme (S‐scheme) BiOBr@Bi2S3 nanoheterojunctions that enable the charge separation and expand the scope of catalytic reactions, aiming to promote the development and improvement of heterojunction engineering is developed. In this kind of heterojunction system, the Fermi levels mediate the formation of the internal electric field at the interface and guide the recombination of the weak redox carriers, while the strong redox carriers are retained. Thus, these high‐energy electrons and holes are able to catalyze a variety of substrates in the tumor microenvironment, such as the reduction of oxygen and carbon dioxide to superoxide radicals and carbon monoxide (CO), and the oxidation of H2O to hydroxyl radicals, thus achieving sonodynamic therapy and CO combined therapy. Mechanistically, the generated reactive oxygen species and CO damage DNA and inhibit cancer cell energy levels, respectively, to synergistically induce tumor cell apoptosis. This study provides new insights into the realization of high efficiency and low toxicity in catalytic therapy from a unique perspective of materials design. Erionite (ERI) zeolite has recently attracted considerable attention for its application prospect in the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3 (NH3‐SCR), provided that the high‐silica (Si/Al > 5.5) analog with improved hydrothermal stability can be facilely synthesized. In this work, ERI zeolites with different Si/Al ratios (4.6, 6.4, and 9.1) are synthesized through an ultrafast route, and in particular, a high‐silica ERI zeolite with a Si/Al ratio of 9.1 is obtained by using faujasite (FAU) as a starting material. The solid‐state 29Si MAS NMR spectroscopic study in combination with a computational simulation allows for figuring out the atomic configurations of the Al species in the three ERI zeolites. It is revealed that the ERI zeolite with the highest Si/Al ratio (ERI‐9.1, where the number indicates the Si/Al ratio) exhibits a biased Al occupancy at T1 site, which is possibly due to the presence of a higher fraction of the residual potassium cations in the can cages. In contrast, the Al siting in ERI‐4.6 and ERI‐6.4 proves to be relatively random. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Rolling mill bearings are prone to wear, erosion, and other damage characteristics due to prolonged exposure to rolling forces. Therefore, regular inspection of rolling mill bearings is necessary. Ultrasonic technology, due to its non-destructive nature, allows for measuring the oil film thickness distribution within the bearing during disassembly. However, during the process of using ultrasonic reflection coefficients to determine the oil film thickness and distribution state of rolling mill bearings, changes in bearing temperature due to prolonged operation can occur. Ultrasonic waves are susceptible to temperature variations, and different temperatures of the measured structure can lead to changes in measurement results, ultimately distorting the results. This paper proposes using density and sound speed compensation methods to address this issue. It simulates and analyzes the oil film reflection coefficients at different temperatures, ultimately confirming the feasibility and effectiveness of this approach. The paper establishes a functional relationship between bearing pressure and reflection coefficients, oil film thickness, and reflection coefficients. This allows for the compensation of reflection coefficients under any pressure conditions, enhancing the accuracy of oil film thickness detection. Underwater object detection is a challenging task in the process of marine exploration and development. Addressing the issue of poor underwater target detection performance in existing algorithms due to problems such as low visibility and color distortion in underwater images, an improved YOLOv7 underwater target detection algorithm is proposed with the aim of improving underwater object detection performance. Firstly, a multi-information flow fusion attention mechanism (spatial group-wise coordinated competitive attention, SGCA) is designed to solve the problem of feature loss caused by the loss of global context information of the image in the convolution process. It improves the detection accuracy of the model in the case of image blur. Additionally, the switchable atrous convolution (SAConv) module is used to replace the 3×3 convolution module in the ELAN structure to enhance the feature extraction capability of the backbone network. Secondly, Wise-IoU is used as the loss function in the prediction part, which obtains more accurate detection results by balancing model training outcomes on images of varying quality. Finally, an underwater image enhancement method based on dark channel prior (DCP) and depth transmission maps is employed to enhance the images in the underwater dataset. Experimental results show that the improved algorithm achieves a mAP of 87.3% on the selfbuilt underwater object detection dataset, which is 3.4 percengtage points higher than that of the original YOLOv7 algorithm. On the enhanced underwater image dataset, mAP is 87.1%, increases 2.1 percentage points. Therefore, the proposed approach exhibits superior performance in underwater object detection tasks. BACKGROUND: The shortage of water resources and the increase of greenhouse gas emissions from soil seriously restrict the sustainable development of agriculture. Under the premise of ensuring a stable yield of winter wheat through a reasonable irrigation scenario, identifying a suitable straw returning method will have a positive effect on agricultural carbon sequestration and emission reduction in North China Plain. RESULTS: Straw burying (SR) and straw mulching (SM) were adopted based on traditional tillage under in the winter wheat growing season of 2020–2021 and 2021–2022. Three irrigation scenarios were used for each straw returning method: no irrigation (I0), irrigation 60 mm at jointing stage (I1), and irrigation of 60 mm each at the jointing and heading stages (I2). Soil moisture, soil respiration rate, cumulative soil CO2 emissions, yield, water use efficiency (WUE) and soil CO2 emission efficiency (CEE) were mainly studied. The results showed that, compared to SM, SR improved the utilization of soil water and enhanced soil carbon sequestration. SR reduced soil respiration rate and cumulative soil CO2 emissions in two winter wheat growing seasons, and increased yield by increasing spike numbers. In addition, with an increase in the amount of irrigation, soil CO2 emissions and yield increased. Under SR‐I1 treatment, WUE and CEE were the highest. SR‐I1 increases crop yields at the same time as reducing soil CO2 emissions. CONCLUSION: The combination of SR and irrigation 60 mm at jointing stage is a suitable straw returning irrigation scenario, which can improve water use and reduce soil CO2 emission in NCP. © 2023 Society of Chemical Industry. In railway signalling systems, trackside equipment and signalling devices are controlled by wayside object controllers (OC). With the application of radio communication to wirelessly transmit command control and signals, the cost of cabling and installation has been significantly reduced. However, for non-electrified regional lines in rural areas, dedicated cables are still installed along the track to drive the wayside object controllers, which increases both capital and operational costs. With the development of renewable energy sources (RES) and wayside energy storage systems (ESS), a concept of smart wayside object controllers (SWOC) is proposed, which are autonomous, off-grid and powered by local renewable energy sources to reduce the related costs. To assist future system development, this work develops methods to not only calculate power and energy demand for system configuration but also estimate the life cycle cost in long-term operation. A case study based on a railway test site in Sweden is performed. This study shows that it is sufficient to use 100% local renewable energy sources to power the SWOC, trackside equipment and signalling devices. Compared with the existing system, the SWOC shows a significant cost saving in long-term operation by removing cabling and installation, reducing trackside maintenance and replacing the power supply with renewable energy power sources for decarbonisation. Therefore, the SWOC shows its significant benefits over the existing system from both economical and environmental aspects. Dairy products are susceptible to modifications in protein oxidation during heat processing, which can lead to changes in protein function, subsequently affecting intestinal health. Despite being a unique nutritional source, yak milk has not been thoroughly examined for the effects of its oxidized proteins on intestinal microbiota and metabolism. Hence, this study employed different heat treatment methods (low-temperature pasteurization, high-temperature pasteurization, and high-temperature sterilization) to induce oxidation in yak milk proteins. The study then assessed the degree of oxidation in these proteins and utilized mice as research subjects. Using metagenomics and metabolomics methods, this study examined the structure of intestinal microbial communities and metabolic products in mice consuming oxidized yak milk. The results showed a decrease in carbonyl and total thiol contents of yak milk proteins after different heat treatments, indicating that heat treatment causes oxidation in yak milk proteins. Metagenomic analysis of mouse intestinal microbiota revealed significant changes in 66 genera. In the high-temperature sterilization group (H), key differential genera included Verrucomicrobiales, Verrucomicrobiae, Akkermansiaceae, and 28 others. The high-temperature pasteurization group (M) mainly consisted of Latilactobacillus, Bacillus, and Romboutsia. The low-temperature pasteurization group (L) primarily comprised of Faecalibacterium, Chaetomium, Paenibacillaceae, Eggerthella, Sordariales, and 33 others. Functionally, compared to the control group (C), the H group upregulated translation and energy metabolism functions, the L group the M group significantly upregulated metabolism of other amino acids, translation, and cell replication and repair functions. Based on metabolomic analysis, differential changes in mouse metabolites could affect multiple metabolic pathways in the body. The most significantly affected metabolic pathways were phenylalanine metabolism, vitamin B6 metabolism, steroid hormone biosynthesis, and pantothenate and CoA biosynthesis. The changes were similar to the functional pathway analysis of mouse metagenomics, affecting amino acid and energy metabolism in mice. In summary, moderate oxidation of yak milk proteins exhibits a positive effect on mouse intestinal microbiota and metabolism. In conclusion, yak milk has a positive effect on mouse intestinal microflora and metabolism, and this study provides a scientific basis for optimizing dairy processing technology and further developing and applying yak milk. Alkaline earth metal cations are ubiquitously present in natural zeolites but less exploited in synthetic zeolites due to their low solubility in water, and hence it remains elusive how they contribute to zeolite formation. Herein, harmotome, a PHI-type zeolite with Ba2+, is readily synthesized from a Ba-containing aluminosilicate glass. This glass-to-zeolite transformation process, in particular the structure-regulating role of Ba2+, is investigated by anomalous X-ray scattering and high-energy X-ray total scattering techniques. The results demonstrate that the steady Ba2+–aluminosilicate interactions not only help prevent the precipitation of barium species under alkaline synthetic conditions, but also dictate the local structures with distinct interatomic distances between the Ba2+ and the surrounding aluminosilicate species throughout the transformation process, which lead to the successful formation of harmotome without detectable impurities. This study highlights the usefulness of the comprehensive X-ray scattering techniques in revealing the formation scheme of the zeolites containing specific metal species. In addition, a promising alternative approach to design and synthesize zeolites with unique compositions and topologies by using well-crafted glasses with suitable metal cation dopants is demonstrated. Background: The WD40 repeat (WDR) domain provides scaffolds for numerous protein–protein interactions in multiple biological processes. WDR domain 76 (WDR76) has complex functionality owing to its diversified interactions; however, its mechanism in LGG has not yet been reported. Methods: Transcriptomic data from public databases were multifariously analyzed to explore the role of WDR76 in LGG pathology and tumor immunity. Laboratory experiments were conducted to confirm these results. Results: The results first confirmed that high expression of WDR76 in LGG was not only positively associated with clinical and molecular features of malignant LGG, but also served as an independent prognostic factor that predicted shorter survival in patients with LGG. Furthermore, high expression of WDR76 resulted in the upregulation of oncogenes, such as PRC1 and NUSAP1, and the activation of oncogenic mechanisms, such as the cell cycle and Notch signaling pathway. Finally, WDR76 was shown to be involved in LGG tumor immunity by promoting the infiltration of immune cells, such as M2 macrophages, and the expression of immune checkpoints, such as PDCD1 (encoding PD-1). Conclusions: This study shows for the first time the diagnostic and prognostic value of WDR76 in LGG and provides a novel personalized biomarker for future targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Background and Aims: Sarcopenia is associated with poor prognosis, but its role in older patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is unclear. We aimed to evaluate the impact of sarcopenia on the prognosis of older patients with ICC undergoing hepatectomy. Methods: A total of 363 patients with ICC following hepatectomy from 2015 to 2021 were retrospectively reviewed at five institutions. Sarcopenia was evaluated using skeletal muscle index by computed tomography images. Patients were divided into four subgroups according to sarcopenia and age. Postoperative outcomes including complication, overall survival (OS) and recurrence‐free survival (RFS) were evaluated. Risk factors were identified through univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses. Results: 302 patients were included in the analysis. The median age was 63 years and there were 128 patients (42.4%) aged over 65 years. 192 patients (63.6%) were diagnosed with sarcopenia, while 180 patients (59.6%) experienced myosteatosis. Older patients experienced a higher incidence of sarcopenia and myosteatosis, and worse postoperative outcomes than younger patients. In the subgroup of patients with sarcopenia, older patients experienced a significant shorter OS than younger patients, which was not observed in patients without sarcopenia. According to the multivariate Cox regression analysis, lymphatic metastasis (p <.001), blood transfusion (p =.004), low serum albumin (p =.051), sarcopenia (p =.024), and myosteatosis (p =.004) were identified as independent risk factors of OS in older patients, meanwhile tumour size (p =.013) and lymphatic metastasis (p <.001) were independent risk factors of RFS. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative disease characterized by cartilage wear and degradation. Ginkgolide K (GK) is a natural compound extracted from Ginkgo biloba leaves and possesses anti‐inflammatory and anti‐apoptotic effects. We found that the biological characteristics of GK were highly consistent with those of OA medications. This study aimed to determine and verify the therapeutic effect of GK on OA and mechanism of its therapeutic effect. For the in vivo experiment, OA rats were regularly injected in the articular cavity with GK, and the curative effects were observed after 4 and 8 weeks. For the in vitro experiment, we treated OA chondrocytes with different concentrations of GK and then detected the related indices of OA. Through the in vivo and in vitro experiments, we found that GK could promote the production of major components of the cartilage extracellular matrix. Transcriptome sequencing revealed that GK may activate hypoxia‐inducible factor 1 alpha via the hypoxia signaling pathway, which, in turn, activates yes‐associated protein and inhibits apoptosis of OA chondrocytes. Soil pollution caused by the residual polyethylene film is a potential threat to agricultural sustainability. Biodegradable films are generally effective alternatives to reduce this pollution. However, soil quality changes responding to continuous biodegradable film mulch are still unclear. To reveal the accumulative effects of biodegradable film mulch on soil quality, we conducted a positioning experiment from 2016 to 2019 in North China Plain (NCP). Four treatments, including transparent polyethylene film mulching (PM), transparent biodegradable film mulching (TM), black biodegradable film mulching (BM), and non-mulching (CK) were employed. The results showed that compared with CK, both BM and TM treatments significantly reduced soil bulk density and increased soil microbial activity and soil enzyme activity; however, BM and TM did not affect soil nutrient content. Compared with CK, BM treatment significantly increased soil quality index (SQI) by 7.2% (in 2019) due to higher soil fertility content and bioactivity; however, TM and PM treatments decreased SQI by 3.2% and 3.8%, respectively. Besides, compared with CK, BM significantly enhanced summer maize grain yield by 30.35%. Microsized‐silicon (µ‐Si, >1 µm) is one of the ideal anodes for lithium‐ion batteries due to its low‐cost, high tap density, and high specific capacity. However, during repeated lithiation/delithiation processes, µ‐Si undergoes huge volume changes. This leads to continued capacity loss during cycling due to severe particle pulverization, separation from the conductive network and uncontrolled growth of an unstable solid‐electrolyte interphase (SEI). Herein, an electrode construction strategy is proposed by carbonization of the slurry‐casting µ‐Si electrode. The organic binder serves as both carbon resource and physical framework, which is carbonized to form a carbon binder that is chemically bonded with the µ‐Si particles and within the electrode. The electrode with carbon binder ensures stable electric channel and promotes formation of a stable and passivating SEI at the interface with a high µ‐Si content up to 82 wt%. The carbon binder offers physical buffer that shield against localized strain and modifies the surface reactivity, which enables a high initial Coulombic efficiency (91.85%) and stable cycle performance at commercial‐level areal capacities (2 mAh cm−2). Purpose: Colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) is the second leading cause of death in the world, and the new incidence rate ranks third among all cancers. Abnormal DNA methylation is related to the occurrence and development of tumors. In this study, we aimed to identify genes associated with abnormal methylation in COAD.Methods: COAD transcriptome data, methylation data and clinical information were downloaded from the TCGA database and GEO database. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and methylated genes (DMGs) were analyzed and identified in COAD. PCA analysis was applied to divide COAD into subtypes, and the survival and immune cell infiltration of each subtype were evaluated. Cox and LASSO analyses were performed to construct COAD risk model. GSEA was used to evaluate the enrichment pathways. The Kaplan–Meier was used to analyze the difference in survival. ROC curve was plotted to evaluate the accuracy of the model, and GSE17536 was used to verify the accuracy of the risk model. The risk model is combined with the clinicopathological characteristics of COAD patients to perform multivariate Cox regression analysis to obtain independent risk factors and draw nomograms.Results: In total, 4564 DEGs and 1093 DMGs were screened, among which 298 were found to be overlapping genes. For 220 of these overlapping genes, the methylation was significantly negatively correlated to expression levels. An optimal signature from 4 methylated biomarkers was identified to construct the prognostic model.Conclusion: Our study identified 4 methylated biomarkers in the COAD. BACKGROUND: Although nonfat milk has been used worldwide in the industrial dairy process, little is known about the effects of fat separation during the manufacturing process on skim milk's structural and digestive properties. This study investigated the effects of the manufacturing process on the structure and in vitro digestion properties of skim goat milk, particularly emphasizing fat separation. RESULTS: Changes in the surface charge and hydrophobicity of milk proteins caused by fat separation resulted in oxidation and aggregation in the subsequent homogenization, heat and spray‐drying processing, which affected its digestibility. Compared with separation by dish separator (DS), skim milk after tubular centrifugal separation (CS) showed a higher initial and final digestibility. The CS samples also had a lower surface hydrophobicity level and higher free sulfhydryl content, ζ‐potential, and average particle size (P < 0.05). Goat milk protein after CS was more readily oxidized and aggregated during the subsequent homogenization and heat treatment, as evidenced by the higher carbonyl content and particle size. Centrifugal separation also converted more β‐sheets to α‐helices, thus promoting the aggregation of oxidized skim milk protein. CONCLUSION: The skim milk after CS and DS demonstrated different structural and digestive properties. Skim goat milk products after CS were more susceptible to oxidant‐induced protein structural changes, resulting in higher protein digestibility. Ultrahigh hydrogen evolution from photocatalytic water splitting using CaTiO3 is difficult due to its low photon-to-electron conversion efficiency. Herein, a facile post-loading strategy was developed for preparing a RuS2@CaTiO3-x heterojunction by anchoring RuS2 on a multi-shelled hollow cube of CaTiO3, which successfully achieved ultrahigh hydrogen evolution through water splitting with the assistance of a photocatalytic biorefinery. After RuS2 anchoring, the utilization of visible light and the separation/migration rate of photo-generated carriers of RuS2@CaTiO3-x enhanced significantly, resulting in a high photon-to-electron conversion efficiency. Correspondingly, the hydrogen evolution rate reached 8140.7 μmol g−1 h−1 in the RuS2@CaTiO3-10 system with the assistance of the photocatalytic selective oxidation of biomass-derived monosaccharides, and it was 45.5- and 4.2-fold greater than those of pristine CaTiO3 and RuS2, respectively. Furthermore, 89.0% yield of lactic acid was obtained in the corresponding system. Electron spin-resonance (ESR) characterization combined with radical capture experiments indicated that ˙OH played a significant role in lactic acid production. Moreover, RuS2@CaTiO3-10 not only exhibits excellent reusability and stability, but also has been successfully used for different biomass-based monosaccharide reforming coupled with water-splitting to co-produce lactic acid and hydrogen. In winter, some freight trains with composite brake blocks experience unexpected long braking distances, which seriously jeopardizes running safety. The reasons for the long braking distances are still not completely understood, and therefore it is difficult to suggest preventive measures. Up to now, it has not really been studied how a layer of ice that is often found between the brake block and the wheel influences the braking process. To investigate whether ice influences the braking distance, a numerical model is built. Ice thickness, ambient temperature, initial speed, and axle load/brake pressure are parameters that can be varied in the model. Results are checked against available on-track tests. The simulation results show that ice significantly influences the braking distance. The impact of ice on the braking distance increases when the ambient temperature, initial speed, and brake pressure are low, which is consistent with available field test reports. The results also show that a conditioning brake, a high brake pressure and a small clearance between the wheel and brake block can efficiently reduce the impact of ice on the braking distance of freight trains with composite brake blocks in winter. Significant wave height (SWH) is a key parameter for monitoring the state of waves. Accurate and long-term SWH forecasting is significant to maritime shipping and coastal engineering. This study proposes a transformer model based on an attention mechanism to achieve the forecasting of SWHs. The transformer model can capture the contextual information and dependencies between sequences and achieves continuous time series forecasting. Wave scale classification is carried out according to the forecasting results, and the results are compared with gated recurrent unit (GRU) and long short-term memory (LSTM) machine-learning models and the key laboratory of MArine Science and NUmerical Modeling (MASNUM) numerical wave model. The results show that the machine-learning models outperform the MASNUM within 72 h, with the transformer being the best model. For continuous 12 h, 24 h, 36 h, 48 h, 72 h, and 96 h forecasting, the average mean absolute errors (MAEs) of the test sets were, respectively, 0.139 m, 0.186 m, 0.223 m, 0.254 m, 0.302 m, and 0.329 m, and the wave scale classification accuracies were, respectively, 91.1%, 99.4%, 86%, 83.3%, 78.9%, and 77.5%. The experimental results validate that the transformer model can achieve continuous and accurate SWH forecasting, as well as accurate wave scale classification and early warning of waves, providing technical support for wave monitoring. Proline and serine–rich coiled-coil 1 (PSRC1) has been reported to function as an oncogene in several cancers by regulating mitosis, while there are few reports on the role of PSRC1 in lower-grade glioma (LGG). Thus, this study collected 22 samples and 1126 samples from our institution and several databases, respectively, to explore the function of PSRC1 in LGG. First, the analysis of clinical characteristics showed that PSRC1 was always highly expressed in more malignant clinical characteristics of LGG, such as higher WHO grade, recurrence type, and IDH wild type. Second, the prognosis analysis revealed that the high expression of PSRC1 was an independent risk factor contributing to the shorter overall survival of LGG patients. Third, the analysis of DNA methylation showed that the expression of PSRC1 was associated with its 8 DNA methylation sites, overall negatively regulated by its DNA methylation level in LGG. Fourth, the analysis of immune correlation revealed that the expression of PSRC1 was positively correlated with the infiltration of 6 immune cells and the expression of 4 well-known immune checkpoints in LGG, respectively. Finally, co-expression analysis and KEGG analysis showed the 10 genes most related to PSRC1 and the signaling pathways involved by PSRC1 in LGG, respectively, such as MAPK signaling pathway and focal adhesion. In conclusion, this study identified the pathogenic role of PSRC1 in the pathological progression of LGG, expanding the molecular understanding of PSRC1, and provided a biomarker and potential immunotherapeutic target for the treatment of LGG. The corrosion behavior of D-class sucker rod in the production well of CO2 flooding in Xinjiang oilfield is investigated by using weight-loss methods and surface analysis technology. The main sensitive factor affecting the D-class sucker rod is determined and the novel safe service life model is established to predict the finite service life of D-class sucker rod. The results show that the temperature and Cl− content is the main sensitive of the steel. D-class sucker rod must be replaced in time after 2 years to prevent the sucker rod from breaking. The casual discharge of dyes from industrial settings has seriously polluted global water systems. Owing to the abundance of biomass resources, preparing photocatalysts for photocatalytic degradation of dyes is significant; however, it still remains challenging. In this work, a cuprous oxide/copper oxide composite was interpenetrated onto carbon nanosheets of cellulose-based flexible carbon aerogels (Cu2O/CuO@CAx) via a simple freeze-drying-calcination method. The introduction of the carbon aerogel effectively prevents the aggregation of the cuprous oxide/copper oxide composite. In addition, Cu2O/CuO@CA0.2 has a larger specific surface area, stronger charge transfer capacity, and lower recombination rate of photogenerated carriers than copper oxide. Moreover, Cu2O/CuO@CA0.2 exhibited high photocatalytic activity in decomposing methylene blue, with a degradation rate reaching up to 99.09% in 60 min. The active oxidation species in the photocatalytic degradation process were systematically investigated by electron spin resonance characterization and poisoning experiments, among which singlet oxygen played a major role. In conclusion, this work provides an effective method for preparing photocatalysts using biomass resources in combination with different metal oxides. Developing conductive polymer composites (CPCs) with high stretchability and high resistance response is a challenge in the field of flexible sensing. In this study, porous CPCs with a microdome array on the surface are prepared based on thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). TPU/CNT composites are designed to be strain sensors and pressure sensors capable of monitoring external strain and pressure stimuli. Due to the excellent electrical properties of carbon nanotubes, the synergistic effect of composite surface microstructure, and an internal porous structure, the sensor has greatly improved the detection range and sensitivity of traditional sensors. The sensing properties of CPC materials in terms of strain and pressure monitoring are perfectly balanced. The detection ranges of the strain sensor and pressure sensor are 0–160% and 0–55 kPa, respectively, and the highest sensitivity is gauge factor (GF) = 12.88 (90–160%) and sensitivity S = 0.08 (0–6.5 kPa), respectively. Based on the reversible change of the CNT conductive network under tensile/compression loading, the sensor has excellent stability and durability during cyclic loading. In addition, the TPU/CNT composite sensors can monitor human movements, bending of composite components, and pressure positions, showing great application prospects in electronic skin, wearable smart devices, and human–computer interaction. Background: It is unclear whether excessive salt intake accelerates the progression of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). The major objective of this study was to investigate the harmful effect of excessive salt intake on the progression of CSVD in older individuals. Methods: Between May 2007 and November 2010, 423 community-dwelling individuals aged 60 years and older were recruited from the Shandong area, China. Salt intake was estimated using 24-hour urine collection for 7 consecutive days at baseline. Participants were classified into low, mild, moderate and high groups according to the salt intake estimation. CSVD including white matter hyperintensities (WMHs), lacunes, microbleeds and an enlarged perivascular space (EPVS) were determined using brain magnetic resonance imaging. Results: During an average of five years of follow-up, the WMH volume and WMH-to-intracranial ratio were increased in the four groups. However, the increasing trends in the WMH volume and WMH-to-intracranial ratio were significantly faster in the higher salt intake groups compared with the lower salt intake groups (Padjusted < 0.001). The cumulative hazard ratios of new-incident WMHs (defined as those with Fazekas scale scores ≥ 2), new-incident lacunes, microbleeds or an EPVS, as well as composites of CSVD, were respectively 2.47, 2.50, 3.33, 2.70 and 2.89 for the mild group; 3.72, 3.74, 4.66, 4.01 and 4.49 for the moderate group; and 7.39, 5.82, 7.00, 6.40 and 6.61 for the high group, compared with the low group after adjustment for confounders (Padjusted < 0.001). The risk of new-incident WMHs, lacunes, microbleeds or an EPVS, and composites of CSVD was significantly increased with each 1-standard-deviation increment in salt intake (Padjusted < 0.001). The selective photocatalytic C–C bond cleavage of biomass coupling with H–O bond cleavage of water for co-producing chemicals and H2 is of great significance, but limited successes have been reported. In this study, a RuS2@CN-x photocatalyst with only exposed crystal face (200) was prepared by anchoring RuS2 nanoparticles on carbon nitride (CN) nanosheets and successfully used in photocatalytic C–C bond cleavage of biomass-based sugars coupling with water splitting to co-generate lactic acid and hydrogen. Interestingly, the RuS2 (200) crystal face combined with the interfacial synergism between CN and RuS2 in RuS2@CN-x effectively improved visible light absorption and enhanced the transfer/separation efficiency of photo-generated carriers. The RuS2@CN-2 exhibited superior photocatalytic activity towards synchronous water splitting and biomass conversion to co-produce hydrogen (8698.3 μmol g−1 h−1) and lactic acid (91.5%). Furthermore, the experimental and DFT calculation results indicated that the exposed crystal face (200) of RuS2 significantly enhanced the photocatalytic activity of RuS2@CN-2. Moreover, this reaction system not only has excellent recyclability but also displays excellent universality for small molecule biomass-derived monosaccharides and macromolecular xylan. We proposed a novel approach to evolve LSTM networks utilizing intelligent optimization algorithms and address time-series classification problems in EdgeIoT. Meanwhile, a new optimizer called cultural society and civilization (CSC) algorithm is proposed to reduce the probability of stagnated in the local optima and increase the convergence speed. Knee arthrofibrosis is one of the most serious complications of knee surgery; however, its pathogenesis is unclear, and current treatment methods have not achieved satisfactory results. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have good anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic properties, and studies have reported that human infrapatellar fat pad-derived MSCs (IPFSCs) have the advantages of strong proliferative and differentiating ability, ease of acquisition, and minimal harm to the donor. Increasing evidence has shown that MSCs function through their paracrine extracellular vesicles (EVs). Our study is aimed at exploring the effects of human IPFSC-derived EVs (IPFSC-EVs) on knee arthrofibrosis and the underlying mechanisms in vivo and in vitro. In the in vivo study, injecting IPFSC-EVs into the knee joint cavity effectively reduced surgery-induced knee arthrofibrosis in rats. In the in vitro study, IPFSC-EVs were found to inhibit the proliferation of fibroblasts in the inflammatory environment. Additionally, we screened a potential IPFSC-EV molecular target, metallothionein 2A (MT2A), using RNA sequencing. We found that silencing MT2A partially reversed the inhibitory effect of IPFSC-EVs on fibroblast proliferation in the inflammatory environment. High-efficiency visible-light-driven biomass conversion, coupled with water splitting, has attracted considerable attention, but the achievements have been rather limited. Herein, the ternary RuP2/Ti4P6O23@TiO2-7 photocatalyst was successfully constructed for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and high selectivity biomass conversion simultaneously. A series of nanospheres were uniformly arranged on the surface of RuP2/Ti4P6O23@TiO2-7, and it exhibited a fast photo-generated carrier rate and wide visible light absorption range due to the in situ incorporated RuP2 and Ti4P6O23 to form the heterojunction. The hydrogen evolution achieved 16.3 mmol g−1 h−1 accompanied by lactic acid production that reached 2.41 mmol g−1 h−1. Moreover, the RuP2/Ti4P6O23@TiO2-7 photocatalytic system is suitable for different biomass-derived monosaccharides and macromolecule xylan, in which the pentoses are more active than hexoses. For xylan, lactic acid production reached 0.63 g gxylan−1. Notably, this work shows an efficient utilization of water splitting and biomass conversion via RuP2/Ti4P6O23@TiO2-7 photocatalysis and provides new insight into biomass reforming and water splitting. Objective. To investigate the effect of IFN-α-2b in preventing postoperative arthrofibrosis in rats, its antiproliferation effect on fibroblasts in vitro, and its molecular mechanism. Methods. The rat model of arthrofibrosis was established and treated with different concentrations of drugs. Knee specimens were collected for histological and immunohistochemical staining to observe the effect of IFN-α-2b on arthrofibrosis in rats. The biological information was further mined according to the database data, and the possible regulatory mechanism of IFN-α-2b on fibroblasts was analyzed. The inhibitory effect of IFN-α-2b on fibroblast proliferation and migration in vitro was detected by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), immunofluorescence analysis, cell cycle test, EdU assay, wound healing test, and Transwell method, and the analysis results were verified by Western blotting method. Results. The test results of rat knee joint specimens showed that IFN-α-2b significantly inhibited the degree of fibrosis after knee joint surgery, the number of fibroblasts in the operation area was less than that of the control group, and the expression of collagen and proliferation-related proteins decreased. In vitro experimental results show that IFN-α-2b can inhibit the proliferation and migration of fibroblasts. According to the results of database analysis, it is suggested that the STAT1/P21 pathway may be involved, and it has been verified and confirmed by Western blotting and other related methods. A dynamic model based on rotor dynamics was proposed to analyze the effect of workpiece-tool system vibration on the cutting accuracy of commercially pure titanium TA2. Out-of-round (OOR) wheel often happens to trains, which can cause abnormal vibration. To develop effective countermeasures to minimize the abnormal vibration, it is necessary to study how the wheel OOR wear affects the vehicle vibration. This paper performs an experimental study on the abnormal vibration characteristics of metro trains with out-of-round wheels. The vibration characteristics is identified by the general survey of wheel roughness from special tests. The statistic wheel wear values of all the vehicles in an operating metro lines are studied to investigate the relationship between the wheel wear and the operating mileage. Several re-profiling strategies are implemented to eliminate the abnormal vibration caused by wheel OOR. The results show that the root cause of the abnormal vibration and deterioration of ride comfort is the car-body flexible resonance excited by the wheel OOR wear. Wheel re-profiling is the most effective measure for reducing the vehicle abnormal vibration. The structure from motion (SfM) method has achieved great success in 3D sparse reconstruction, but it still faces serious challenges in large-scale scenes. Existing hybrid SfM methods usually do not fully consider the compactness between images and the connectivity between subclusters, resulting in a loose spatial distribution of images within subclusters, unbalanced connectivity between subclusters, and poor robustness in the merging stage. In this paper, an efficient and robust hybrid SfM method is proposed. First, the multifactor joint scene partition measure and the preassignment balanced image expansion algorithm among subclusters are constructed, which effectively solves the loose spatial distribution of images in subclusters problem and improves the degree of connection among subclusters. Second, the global GlobalACSfM method is used to complete the local sparse reconstruction of the subclusters under the cluster parallel framework. Then, a decentralized dynamic merging rule considering the connectivity of subclusters is proposed to realize robust merging among subclusters. Finally, public datasets and oblique photography datasets are used for experimental verification.
