An analytical method was established for the simultaneous determination of residual quantity of 55 solvent compounds in disposable infusion sets by headspace-gas chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). The headspace injection was used to screen the residual quantity of 55 solvent compounds in the infusion set, and the samples were separated on a TG-624Sil MS (60 mx0.25 mmx1.4 pm) column, and the residual quantity of 55 solvent compounds in the infusion set were screened in selected reaction monitoring (SRM) mode, and the 55 solvent compounds were effectively separated within 36 min. The linearities were good in the respective concentration ranges, and the average spiked recoveries were 81.7%~111.7%, with the relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 0.37%~8.66% (n=6), and the limits of detection (LODs) were in the range of 0.1~0.2 µg/L. The method is simple, fast, accurate and efficient, and it can be used for the determination of the residual quantity of the 55 solvent compounds in disposable infusion sets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
