Information about several topics discussed at the 2009 International Seminar on the History of the Atlantic World, 1500-1825 at Harvard University is presented. The article reviews the conference and seeks to define and clarify terms used in the seminar, such as Atlantic science. It addresses the theme of the conference, whose focus was the role of North America in the development of European science and medicine, as well as the influence of transoceanic movement on knowledge.
