Groundwater is one of the important freshwater resources on Earth and is closely related to human activities. As a good biological vector, a more diverse repertory of antibiotic resistance genes in the water environment would have a profound impact on human medical health. Therefore, this study conducted a metagenomic sequencing analysis of water samples from groundwater monitoring points in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to characterize microbial community composition and antibiotic resistance in the groundwater environment. Our results show that different microbial communities and community composition were the driving factors in the groundwater environment, and a diversity of antibiotic resistance genes in the groundwater environment was detected. The main source of antibiotic resistance gene host was determined by correlation tests and analyses. In this study, metagenomics was used for the first time to comprehensively analyze microbial communities in groundwater systems in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River basin. The data obtained from this study serve as an invaluable resource and represent the basic metagenomic characteristics of groundwater microbial communities in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River basin. These findings will be useful tools and provide a basis for future research on water microbial community and quality, greatly expanding the depth and breadth of our understanding of groundwater. Molecular imaging is a non‐invasive imaging method that is widely used for visualization and detection of biological events at cellular or molecular levels. Stimuli‐responsive linkers that can be selectively cleaved by specific biomarkers at desired sites to release or activate imaging agents are appealing tools to improve the specificity, sensitivity, and efficacy of molecular imaging. This review summarizes the recent advances of stimuli‐responsive linkers and their application in molecular imaging, highlighting the potential of these linkers in the design of activatable molecular imaging probes. Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) that exhibit dynamic phase‐transition behavior under external stimuli could have great potential in adsorptive separations. Here we report on a zinc‐based microporous MOF (JNU‐80) and its reversible transformation between two crystalline phases: large pore (JNU‐80‐LP) and narrow pore (JNU‐80‐NP). Specifically, JNU‐80‐LP can undergo a dehydration‐induced cluster consolidation under heat treatment, resulting in JNU‐80‐NP with a reduced channel that allows exclusion of di‐branched hexane isomers while high adsorption of linear and mono‐branched hexane isomers. We further demonstrate the fabrication of MOF‐polymer composite (JNU‐80‐NP‐block) and its application in the purification of di‐branched isomers from liquid‐phase hexane mixtures (98 % di‐branched) at room temperature, affording the di‐branched hexane isomers with 99.5 % purity and close to 90 % recovery rate over ten cycles. Parasitic plants have a heterotrophic lifestyle, in which they withdraw all or part of their nutrients from their host through the haustorium. Despite the release of many draft genomes of parasitic plants, the genome evolution related to the parasitism feature of facultative parasites remains largely unknown. In this study, we present a high‐quality chromosomal‐level genome assembly for the facultative parasite Pedicularis kansuensis (Orobanchaceae), which invades both legume and grass host species in degraded grasslands on the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau. This species has the largest genome size compared with other parasitic species, and expansions of long terminal repeat retrotransposons accounting for 62.37% of the assembly greatly contributed to the genome size expansion of this species. A total of 42,782 genes were annotated, and the patterns of gene loss in P. kansuensis differed from other parasitic species. We also found many mobile mRNAs between P. kansuensis and one of its host species, but these mobile mRNAs could not compensate for the functional losses of missing genes in P. kansuensis. In addition, we identified nine horizontal gene transfer (HGT) events from rosids and monocots, as well as one single‐gene duplication events from HGT genes, which differ distinctly from that of other parasitic species. Furthermore, we found evidence for HGT through transferring genomic fragments from phylogenetically remote host species. Taken together, these findings provide genomic insights into the evolution of facultative parasites and broaden our understanding of the diversified genome evolution in parasitic plants and the molecular mechanisms of plant parasitism. Li‐rich Mn‐based layered oxides (LLO) hold great promise as cathode materials for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) due to their unique oxygen redox (OR) chemistry, which enables additional capacity. However, the LLOs face challenges related to the instability of their OR process due to the weak transition metal (TM)‐oxygen bond, leading to oxygen loss and irreversible phase transition that results in severe capacity and voltage decay. Herein, a synergistic electronic regulation strategy of surface and interior structures to enhance oxygen stability is proposed. In the interior of the materials, the local electrons around TM and O atoms may be delocalized by surrounding Mo atoms, facilitating the formation of stronger TM─O bonds at high voltages. Besides, on the surface, the highly reactive O atoms with lone pairs of electrons are passivated by additional TM atoms, which provides a more stable TM─O framework. Hence, this strategy stabilizes the oxygen and hinders TM migration, which enhances the reversibility in structural evolution, leading to increased capacity and voltage retention. This work presents an efficient approach to enhance the performance of LLOs through surface‐to‐interior electronic structure modulation, while also contributing to a deeper understanding of their redox reaction. Background: Jasmonate ZIM-domain (JAZ) proteins, which act as negative regulators in the jasmonic acid (JA) signalling pathway, have significant implications for plant development and response to abiotic stress. Results: Through a comprehensive genome-wide analysis, a total of 20 members of the JAZ gene family specific to alfalfa were identified in its genome. Phylogenetic analysis divided these 20 MsJAZ genes into five subgroups. Gene structure analysis, protein motif analysis, and 3D protein structure analysis revealed that alfalfa JAZ genes in the same evolutionary branch share similar exon‒intron, motif, and 3D structure compositions. Eight segmental duplication events were identified among these 20 MsJAZ genes through collinearity analysis. Among the 32 chromosomes of the autotetraploid cultivated alfalfa, there were 20 MsJAZ genes distributed on 17 chromosomes. Extensive stress-related cis-acting elements were detected in the upstream sequences of MsJAZ genes, suggesting that their response to stress has an underlying function. Furthermore, the expression levels of MsJAZ genes were examined across various tissues and under the influence of salt stress conditions, revealing tissue-specific expression and regulation by salt stress. Through RT‒qPCR experiments, it was discovered that the relative expression levels of these six MsJAZ genes increased under salt stress. Conclusions: In summary, our study represents the first comprehensive identification and analysis of the JAZ gene family in alfalfa. These results provide important information for exploring the mechanism of JAZ genes in alfalfa salt tolerance and identifying candidate genes for improving the salt tolerance of autotetraploid cultivated alfalfa via genetic engineering in the future. The crossing of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) for conventional anticancer drugs is still a big challenge in treating glioma. The biomimetic nanoparticle delivery system has attracted increasing attention and has a promising future for crossing the BBB. Herein, we construct a multifunctional biomimetic nanoplatform using the erythrocyte membrane (EM) with the tumor-penetrating peptide iRGD (CRGDK/RGPD/EC) as a delivery, and the inner core loaded with the chemotherapeutic drug temozolomide (TMZ). The resulting biomimetic nanoparticle has perfect biocompatibility and stealth ability, which will provide more chances to escape the reticuloendothelial system (RES) entrapment, and increase the opportunity to enter the tumor site. Moreover, the decorated iRGD has been extensively used to actively targeting and deliver therapeutic agents across the BBB into glioma tissue. We show that this biomimetic delivery of TMZ with a diameter of 22 nm efficiently slowed the growth of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and increased the survival rate of the 30 d from 0% to 100%. Herein, we report the self‐assembly of a tubular heterometallic Pd3Cu6L16 capsule that incorporates Pd(II) and CuL1 metalloligands. This capsule undergoes further modification with two tridentate anionic ligands (L2) to afford a bicapped Pd3Cu6L16L22 capsule with an Edshammer polyhedral structure. By employing transition metal ions, acid, and oxidation agents, the bicapped capsule can be converted into an uncapped one. This uncapped form can then revert back to the bicapped structure on the addition of Br− ions and a base. Interestingly, introducing Ag+ ions leads to the removal of one L2 ligand from the bicapped capsule, yielding a mono‐capped Pd3Cu6L16L2 structure. Furthermore, the size of the anions critically influences the precise control over the post‐synthetic modifications of the capsules. Encapsulation of enzymes within porous materials has shown great promise for protecting enzymes from denaturation, increasing their tolerance to harsh environments and promoting their industrialization. However, controlling the conformational freedom of the encapsulated enzymes to enhance their catalytic performance remains a great challenge. To address this issue, herein, following immobilization of GOx and HRP on a thermo-responsive porous poly(styrene-maleic-anhydride-N-isopropylacrylamide) (PSMN) membrane, a GOx–HRP@PSMN@HZIF-8 composite was fabricated by encapsulating GOx–HRP@PSMN in hollow ZIF-8 (HZIF-8) with liposome (L) as the sacrificial template. The improved conformational freedom for enzymes arising from the hollow cavity formed in ZIF-8 through the removal of L enhanced the mass transfer and dramatically promoted the catalytic activity of the composite. Interestingly, at high temperature, the coiled PN moiety in PSMN provided the confinement effect for GOx–HRP, which also significantly boosted the catalytic performance of the composites. Compared to the maximum catalytic reaction rates (Vmax) of GOx–HRP@PSMN@LZIF-8, the free enzyme and GOx–HRP@ZIF-8, the Vmax of the GOx–HRP@PSMN@HZIF-8 composite exhibited an impressive 17.8-fold, 10.8-fold and 6.0-fold enhancement at 37 °C, respectively. The proposed composites successfully demonstrated their potential as catalytic platforms for the colorimetric detection of glucose in a cascade reaction. This study paves a new way for overcoming the current limitations of immobilizing enzymes in porous materials and the use of smart polymers for the potential fabrication of enzyme@polymer@MOF composites with tunable conformational freedom and confinement effect. Metal‐organic cages (MOCs) are supramolecular coordination complexes that have internal cavities for hosting guest molecules and exhibiting various properties. However, the functions of MOCs are limited by the choice of the building blocks. Post‐synthetic modification (PSM) is a technique that can introduce new functional groups and replace existing ones on the MOCs without changing their geometry. Among many PSM methods, covalent PSM is a promising approach to modify MOCs with tailored structures and functions. Covalent PSM can be applied to either the internal cavity or the external surface of the MOCs, depending on the functionality expected to be customized. However, there are still some challenges and limitations in the field of covalent PSM of MOCs, such as the balance between the stability of MOCs and the harshness of organic reactions involved in covalent PSMs. This concept article introduces the organic reaction types involved in covalent PSM of MOCs, their new applications after modification, and summarizes and provides an outlook of this research field. Landsat cloud and cloud shadow detection has a long heritage based on the application of empirical spectral tests to single image pixels, including the Landsat product Fmask algorithm, which uses spectral tests applied to optical and thermal bands to detect clouds and uses the sun-sensor-cloud geometry to detect shadows. Since the Fmask was developed, convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithms, and in particular U-Net algorithms (a type of CNN with a U-shaped network structure), have been developed and are applied to pixels in square patches to take advantage of both spatial and spectral information. The purpose of this study was to develop and assess a new U-Net algorithm that classifies Landsat 8/9 Operational Land Imager (OLI) pixels with higher accuracy than the Fmask algorithm. The algorithm, termed the Learning Attention Network Algorithm (LANA), is a form of U-Net but with an additional attention mechanism (a type of network structure) that, unlike conventional U-Net, uses more spatial pixel information across each image patch. The LANA was trained using 16,861 512 × 512 30 m pixel annotated Landsat 8 OLI patches extracted from 27 images and 69 image subsets that are publicly available and have been used by others for cloud mask algorithm development and assessment. The annotated data were manually refined to improve the annotation and were supplemented with another four annotated images selected to include clear, completely cloudy, and developed land images. The LANA classifies image pixels as either clear, thin cloud, cloud, or cloud shadow. To evaluate the classification accuracy, five annotated Landsat 8 OLI images (composed of >205 million 30 m pixels) were classified, and the results compared with the Fmask and a publicly available U-Net model (U-Net Wieland). The LANA had a 78% overall classification accuracy considering cloud, thin cloud, cloud shadow, and clear classes. As the LANA, Fmask, and U-Net Wieland algorithms have different class legends, their classification results were harmonized to the same three common classes: cloud, cloud shadow, and clear. Considering these three classes, the LANA had the highest (89%) overall accuracy, followed by Fmask (86%), and then U-Net Wieland (85%). The LANA had the highest F1-scores for cloud (0.92), cloud shadow (0.57), and clear (0.89), and the other two algorithms had lower F1-scores, particularly for cloud (Fmask 0.90, U-Net Wieland 0.88) and cloud shadow (Fmask 0.45, U-Net Wieland 0.52). In addition, a time-series evaluation was undertaken to examine the prevalence of undetected clouds and cloud shadows (i.e., omission errors). The band-specific temporal smoothness index (TSIλ) was applied to a year of Landsat 8 OLI surface reflectance observations after discarding pixel observations labelled as cloud or cloud shadow. This was undertaken independently at each gridded pixel location in four 5000 × 5000 30 m pixel Landsat analysis-ready data (ARD) tiles. The TSIλ results broadly reflected the classification accuracy results and indicated that the LANA had the smallest cloud and cloud shadow omission errors, whereas the Fmask had the greatest cloud omission error and the second greatest cloud shadow omission error. Detailed visual examination, true color image examples and classification results are included and confirm these findings. The TSIλ results also highlight the need for algorithm developers to undertake product quality assessment in addition to accuracy assessment. Hollow nanoporous carbon architectures (HNCs) present significant utilitarian value for a wide variety of applications. Facile and efficient preparation of HNCs has long been pursued but still remains challenging. Herein, we for the first time demonstrate that single‐component metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) crystals, rather than the widely reported hybrid ones which necessitate tedious operations for preparation, could enable the facile and versatile syntheses of functional HNCs. By controlling the growth kinetics, the MOFs crystals (STU‐1) are readily engineered into different shapes with designated styles of crystalline inhomogeneity. A subsequent one‐step pyrolysis of these MOFs with intraparticle difference can induce a simultaneous self‐hollowing and carbonization process, thereby producing various functional HNCs including yolk‐shell polyhedrons, hollow microspheres, mesoporous architectures, and superstructures. Superior to the existing methods, this synthetic strategy relies only on the complex nature of single‐component MOFs crystals without involving tedious operations like coating, etching, or ligand exchange, making it convenient, efficient, and easy to scale up. Purpose: To investigate the clinical application value of diagonal earlobe crease (DELC) in patients with chest pain for the diagnosis of coronary heart disease (CHD) and to construct a risk model by multivariate logistic regression. Patients and Methods: Our trial enrolled prospectively and consecutively 706 chest pain patients with suspected CHD between January 2021 to June 2023 from Chengde Central Hospital. According to coronary angiography results, they were categorized into the CHD (n=457) and non-CHD groups (n=249). Results: The trial demonstrated a significant positive relationship between DELC and CHD. Independent risk factors were sex, age, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, LP (a), Cys C, and DELC, whilst HDL-C was a protective factor, for CHD. Patients with-DELC were older than those in the without-DELC arm (P< 0.001) and had a higher proportion of males than females (61.6% vs 50.0%, P=0.026). After multifactorial correction, independent risk factors for CHD included DELC (OR=1.660, 95% CI:1.153 to 2.388, P=0.006), age (OR=1.024, 95% CI:1.002 to 1.045, P=0.030), gender (OR=1.702, 95% CI:1.141 to 2.539, P=0.009), hypertension (OR=1.744, 95% CI:1.226 to 2.482, P=0.002), diabetes mellitus (OR=2.113, 95% CI:1.404 to 3.179, P< 0.001), LP(a) (OR=1.010, 95% CI:1.003 to 1.017, P=0.005), Cys C (OR=3.549, 95% CI:1.605 to 7.846, P=0.002). The Hosmer and Lemeshow (H-L) test (P=0.818) suggests a high goodness of fit, and the area under the ROC curve was calculated to be 0.721 (95% CI:0.682 to 0.760, P< 0.001), which demonstrates that the model has a superior diagnostic value for CHD. Conclusion: DELC is an independent risk factor for CHD after adjusting for sex, age, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, smoking index, LP (a), Cys C, and HDL-C. Purpose: We aimed to explore the effects of the ciliary sulcus angle (CSA) on accurate prediction of the vault after phakic implantable collamer lens (EVO ICL Model V4c) using the KS formula. Methods: Patients were classified according to the size of CSA: group A, narrow angle (CSA < 30°); group B, normal angle (CSA = 30–90°); and group C, wide angle (CSA > 90°). Further, differences between the actual vault dimensions at 3 months postoperatively and the preoperatively predicted vault dimensions in the three groups were analyzed. Results: This study included 223 eyes of 223 individuals. In groups A–C, the difference in the preoperative vault dimensions of the three groups predicted with the KS formula was not statistically significant (P = 0.056). The actual vault dimensions at 3 months postoperatively were significantly different between the three groups (P < 0.001). Moreover, the difference between the actual and predicted vaults by the KS formula was statistically significant (P < 0.001). In the 3 months, after surgery, the percentages of patients with a low vault (< 250 μm) were 0%, 3%, and 29% in groups A, B, and C, respectively. Further, the percentages of patients with an ideal vault (250–750 μm) in the postoperative period were 66%, 84%, and 71% in groups A, B, and C, respectively. Finally, the percentages of patients with a high vault (> 750 μm) in the postoperative period were 34%, 13%, and 0% in groups A, B, and C, respectively. Notably, the distribution of the vault among the three groups was statistically significant (P < 0.001). Conclusion: The size of CSA significantly affects the predictiveness of the vault by the KS formula, with the most pronounced effect on the angles < 30° and > 90°. Introduction: This study aimed to compare the accuracy of seven implantable collamer lens (ICL) implantation vault prediction formulae. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 328 patients (328 eyes) who underwent ICL implantation and the prediction accuracy of seven formulae: NK, KS, WH, Luo, Zhu, Hun, and ZZ were compared. Moreover, the accuracy of the seven formulae for different ICL sizes was compared. The formulae were tested using mean absolute prediction error (MAE), median absolute prediction error (MedAE), prediction error (PE) percentages at ± 50 µm, ± 100 µm, ± 200 µm, and ± 300 µm, and Bland-Altman analysis. Results: The PE of the seven formulae were statistically significant (P < 0.001). The KS (101.00 µm) and WH formulae (116.65 µm) had the smallest MedAE, followed by the Luo (123.62 µm), NK (141.50 µm), Hun (152.68 µm), ZZ (196.00 µm) and Zhu formula (225.98 µm). The highest percentage of PE in the range of ± 300µm was 94.3% and 93% for the KS and WH formulae, respectively. Among the different ICL size groupings, the KS formula predicted the smallest MedAE for 12.1 mm and 12.6 mm, whereas the Luo and WH formulae predicted the smallest MedAE for 13.2 mm and 13.7 mm, respectively. Conclusions: The KS and WH formulae provided better outcomes by predicting the vault with higher accuracy than of the NK, Hun, Luo, ZZ, and Zhu formulae. Trial Registration: ChiCTR2200065501. The development of energy‐saving technology for the efficient separation of olefin and paraffin is highly important for the chemical industry. Herein, we report a self‐assembled Fe4L6 capsule containing a hydrophobic cavity, which can be used to encapsulate and separate propylene/propane. The successful encapsulation of propylene and propane by the Fe4L6 cage in a water solution was documented by NMR spectroscopy. The binding constants K for the Fe4L6 cage toward propylene and propane were determined to be (5.0±0.1)×103 M−1 and (2.1±0.7)×104 M−1 in D2O at 25 °C, respectively. Experiments and theoretical studies revealed that the cage exhibited multiple weak interactions with propylene and propane. The polymer‐grade propylene (>99.5 %) can be obtained from a mixture of propylene and propane by using the Fe4L6 cage as a separation material in a U‐shaped glass tube. The development of energy‐saving technology for the efficient separation of olefin and paraffin is highly important for the chemical industry. Herein, we report a self‐assembled Fe4L6 capsule containing a hydrophobic cavity, which can be used to encapsulate and separate propylene/propane. The successful encapsulation of propylene and propane by the Fe4L6 cage in a water solution was documented by NMR spectroscopy. The binding constants K for the Fe4L6 cage toward propylene and propane were determined to be (5.0±0.1)×103 M−1 and (2.1±0.7)×104 M−1 in D2O at 25 °C, respectively. Experiments and theoretical studies revealed that the cage exhibited multiple weak interactions with propylene and propane. The polymer‐grade propylene (>99.5 %) can be obtained from a mixture of propylene and propane by using the Fe4L6 cage as a separation material in a U‐shaped glass tube. Recently, Barber and Candès laid the theoretical foundation for a general framework for false discovery rate (FDR) control based on the notion of "knockoffs." A closely related FDR control methodology has long been employed in the analysis of mass spectrometry data, referred to there as "target–decoy competition" (TDC). However, any approach that aims to control the FDR, which is defined as the expected value of the false discovery proportion (FDP), suffers from a problem. Specifically, even when successfully controlling the FDR at level α, the FDP in the list of discoveries can significantly exceed α. We offer FDP‐SD, a new procedure that rigorously controls the FDP in the knockoff/TDC competition setup by guaranteeing that the FDP is bounded by α at a desired confidence level. BACKGROUND: Mandarin wine has high added value, which can extend the industry chain of mandarins with excellent economic results. However, innovative fermentation methods are urgently needed to improve the typical taste and flavor characteristics of mandarin wine. In this study, the effect and underlying mechanism of co‐fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Schizosaccharomyces pombe on the characteristics of mandarin wine were investigated based on integrated metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses. RESULTS: In comparison with fermentation with only S. cerevisiae, the mandarin wine produced from co‐fermentation with S. cerevisiae and Sc. pombe had a higher pH value, lower malic acid content, and more abundant free amino acids, resulting in better sensory evaluation scores. The introduction of Sc. pombe extended the stage of alcoholic fermentation and enhanced the richness and diversity of volatile compounds, especially floral and fruity aroma compounds, including ethyl hexanoate, ethyl caprylate, ethyl enanthate, 1‐heptanol, and phenylethyl alcohol. he significantly differential metabolites and varying genes were mainly found in pathways of glycolysis, pyruvate metabolism, the citrate cycle, and amino acid metabolism. CONCLUSION: Co‐fermentation with S. cerevisiae and Sc. pombe showed advantages in producing distinctive taste and flavor of mandarin wine in comparison with fermentation with only S. cerevisiae. Background: Post-radiation nasopharyngeal necrosis (PRNN) is a severe adverse event following re-radiotherapy for patients with locally recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LRNPC) and associated with decreased survival. Biological heterogeneity in recurrent tumors contributes to the different risks of PRNN. Radiomics can be used to mine high-throughput non-invasive image features to predict clinical outcomes and capture underlying biological functions. We aimed to develop a radiogenomic signature for the pre-treatment prediction of PRNN to guide re-radiotherapy in patients with LRNPC. Methods: This multicenter study included 761 re-irradiated patients with LRNPC at four centers in NPC endemic area and divided them into training, internal validation, and external validation cohorts. We built a machine learning (random forest) radiomic signature based on the pre-treatment multiparametric magnetic resonance images for predicting PRNN following re-radiotherapy. We comprehensively assessed the performance of the radiomic signature. Transcriptomic sequencing and gene set enrichment analyses were conducted to identify the associated biological processes. Results: The radiomic signature showed discrimination of 1-year PRNN in the training, internal validation, and external validation cohorts (area under the curve (AUC) 0.713–0.756). Stratified by a cutoff score of 0.735, patients with high-risk signature had higher incidences of PRNN than patients with low-risk signature (1-year PRNN rates 42.2–62.5% vs. 16.3–18.8%, P < 0.001). The signature significantly outperformed the clinical model (P < 0.05) and was generalizable across different centers, imaging parameters, and patient subgroups. The radiomic signature had prognostic value concerning its correlation with PRNN-related deaths (hazard ratio (HR) 3.07–6.75, P < 0.001) and all causes of deaths (HR 1.53–2.30, P < 0.01). Radiogenomics analyses revealed associations between the radiomic signature and signaling pathways involved in tissue fibrosis and vascularity. Conclusions: We present a radiomic signature for the individualized risk assessment of PRNN following re-radiotherapy, which may serve as a noninvasive radio-biomarker of radiation injury-associated processes and a useful clinical tool to personalize treatment recommendations for patients with LANPC. Vision enables both image-forming perception, driven by a contrast-based pathway, and unconscious non-image-forming circadian photoentrainment, driven by an irradiance-based pathway1,2. Although two distinct photoreceptor populations are specialized for each visual task3–6, image-forming photoreceptors can additionally contribute to photoentrainment of the circadian clock in different species7–15. However, it is unknown how the image-forming photoreceptor pathway can functionally implement the segregation of irradiance signals required for circadian photoentrainment from contrast signals required for image perception. Here we report that the Drosophila R8 photoreceptor separates image-forming and irradiance signals by co-transmitting two neurotransmitters, histamine and acetylcholine. This segregation is further established postsynaptically by histamine-receptor-expressing unicolumnar retinotopic neurons and acetylcholine-receptor-expressing multicolumnar integration neurons. The acetylcholine transmission from R8 photoreceptors is sustained by an autocrine negative feedback of the cotransmitted histamine during the light phase of light–dark cycles. At the behavioural level, elimination of histamine and acetylcholine transmission impairs R8-driven motion detection and circadian photoentrainment, respectively. Realizing high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) in the near‐infrared (NIR) region is challenging and valuable for luminescent material, especially for thermally activated delay fluorescence (TADF) material. In this work, we report two achiral cyclic trinuclear Au(I) complexes, Au3(4‐Clpyrazolate)3 and Au3(4‐Brpyrazolate)3 (denoted as Cl−Au and Br−Au), obtained through the reaction of 4‐chloro‐1H‐pyrazole and 4‐bromo‐1H‐pyrazole with Au(I) salts, respectively. Both Cl−Au and Br−Au exhibit TADF with high PLQY (>70 %) in the NIR I (700–900 nm) (λmax = 720 nm) region, exceeding other NIR−TADF emitters in the solid state. Photophysical experiments and theoretical calculations confirmed the efficient NIR−TADF properties of Cl−Au and Br−Au were attributed to the small energy gap ΔE(S1‐T2) (S = singlet, T = triplet) and the large spin‐orbital coupling induced by ligand‐to‐metal‐metal charge transfer of molecular aggregations. In addition, both complexes crystallize in the achiral Pna21 space group (mm2 point group) and are circularly polarized light (CPL) active with maxima luminescent dissymmetry factor |glum| of 3.4 × 10−3 (Cl−Au) and 2.7 × 10−3 (Br−Au) for their crystalline powder samples, respectively. In this work, a large aperture two-dimensional (2D) piezoelectric laser scanner system with an onboard sensor to detect the scanner's deflection angle has been designed and prototyped. The proposed 2D laser scanner is driven using three amplified piezoelectric actuators assembled in an equilateral triangle configuration to provide structural stability and compactness. To overcome the nonlinearity that derives from the hysteresis effect of the piezoelectric actuators, the tip-tilt principle and the control schemes of the 2D scanner are analyzed and compared. Thanks to the combination of onboard sensing of the deflection angle of the scanner with the closed-loop control capability, this 2D scanner's features include a large aperture and high accuracy. The experimental results demonstrate that closed-loop control achieves higher control accuracy than the open-loop control approach, leading to a reduction in the relative error from 2%–4% to ∼0.5%, while the deflection angle tracking accuracy lies approximately within the 40 μrad range. The dissolution rates of alkali-activated fly ash (FA) and alkali-activated slag in hydrochloric acid (HCl) with various pH values were investigated. The geopolymerisation reaction degree of alkali-activated FA/slag (AAFS) can be determined based on the content of hydrochloric-acid-insoluble matter, so X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction and Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy were used to analyse the hydrochloric-acid-insoluble matter of the alkali-activated FA and alkali-activated slag. Acid dissolution tests on the AAFS showed that the addition of slag increased the geopolymerisation degree of FA in most cases. For a certain slag content, the reaction degree of FA decreased with an increase in the modulus of the activator and increased with an increase in the liquid/solid ratio. An increase in activator concentration had a greater effect when the slag content was low. At low activator concentrations, the reaction degree of FA increased with an increase in slag content. Herein, we developed two novel robust metal organic frameworks AlFSIX‐Cu‐TPBDA (ZNU‐8) with znv topology and SIFSIX‐Cu‐TPBDA (ZNU‐9) with wly topology for efficient capture of C2H2 from CO2 and C2H4. Both ZNU‐8 and ZNU‐9 feature multiple anion functionalities and hierarchical porosity. Notably, ZNU‐9 with more anionic binding sites and three distinct cages displays both an extremely large C2H2 capacity (7.94 mmol/g) and a high C2H2/CO2 (10.3) or C2H2/C2H4 (11.6) selectivity. The calculated capacity of C2H2 per anion (4.94 mol/mol at 1 bar) is the highest among all the anion pillared metal organic frameworks. Theoretical calculation indicated that the strong cooperative hydrogen bonds exist between acetylene and the pillared SiF62− anions in the confined cavity, which is further confirmed by in situ IR spectra. The practical separation performance was explicitly demonstrated by dynamic breakthrough experiments with equimolar C2H2/CO2 mixtures and 1/99 C2H2/C2H4 mixtures under various conditions with excellent recyclability and benchmark productivity of pure C2H2 (5.13 mmol/g) or C2H4 (48.57 mmol/g). Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the metastatic patterns of synchronous bone metastasis (SBM) and metachronous bone metastasis (MBM) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Methods: This study included bone metastases in NPC patients from 2005 to 2016 in a Chinese hospital. Cohort 1 was collected from 2005 to 2010 for discovery, and Cohort 2 from 2011 to 2016 for validation. The chi‐squared test, Wilcoxon rank sum test, and Kaplan–Meier technique were used to compare site, time, and survival between cohorts 1 and 2. Prognostic factors were analyzed using univariate or multivariate Cox regression. Results: Cohort 1 had 112 individuals with SBM and 394 with MBM, and cohort 2 had 328 with SBM and 307 with MBM. The thoracic vertebra was the most frequently affected site of metastasis. Patients with SBM more often had metastasis to the cervical vertebrae compared with patients with MBM (34.5% vs. 22.3%, p < 0.05). Patients with SBM had better overall survival (42.2 months, 95% CI: 33.9–50.7) than patients with MBM (24.9 months, 95% CI: 22.2–28.7). Age at bone metastasis detection, metastasis to other organs, and more bone metastasis locations were associated with worse prognosis. The majority of MBMs occurred at 7 to 18 months after NPC diagnosis. Conclusion: Radiotherapy does not modify the metastatic patterns of NPC bone metastases. Patients with SBM tend to have metastasis to the cervical vertebra, which is close to the nasopharynx. Immunotherapy combined with antiangiogenic targeted therapy has improved the treatment of certain solid tumors, but effective regimens remain elusive for refractory recurrent/metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (RM-NPC). We conducted a phase 2 trial to evaluate the safety and activity of camrelizumab plus apatinib in platinum-resistant (cohort 1, NCT04547088) and PD-1 inhibitor resistant NPC (cohort 2, NCT04548271). Here we report on the primary outcome of objective response rate (ORR) and secondary endpoints of safety, duration of response, disease control rate, progression-free survival, and overall survival. The primary endpoint of ORR was met for cohort 1 (65%, 95% CI, 49.6–80.4, n = 40) and cohort 2 (34.3%; 95% CI, 17.0–51.8, n = 32). Grade ≥ 3 treatment-related adverse events (TRAE) were reported in 47 (65.3%) of 72 patients. Results of our predefined exploratory investigation of predictive biomarkers show: B cell markers are the most differentially expressed genes in the tumors of responders versus non-responders in cohort 1 and that tertiary lymphoid structure is associated with higher ORR; Angiogenesis gene expression signatures are strongly associated with ORR in cohort 2. Camrelizumab plus apatinib combination effectiveness is associated with high expression of PD-L1, VEGF Receptor 2 and B-cell-related genes signatures. Camrelizumab plus apatinib shows promising efficacy with a measurable safety profile in RM-NPC patients. Combination of immune checkpoint inhibitors with anti-angiogenic targeted therapy has shown efficacy in some solid tumours. As an economically important legume, Vicia sativa is commonly used as fodder for livestock and in health‐promoting foods for human consumption; however, cold stress is one of the most important limitations to its utilization at high altitudes. The shoot tissues of three cold‐resistant (Lan1, Lan2, and Lan3) and three cold‐sensitive (368, 521, and 538) accessions were collected after cold (4°C) treatment for 0, 6, and 48 h to assess their molecular regulatory mechanisms during cold stress via integrative analyses of their transcriptomes and metabolomes. Our Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis showed that the biosynthesis of phenylpropanoids was the most enriched pathway in the cold stress response of V. sativa. A total of 18 differential metabolites were obtained in the biosynthesis of the phenylpropanoid pathway, and 722 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) showed a significant positive correlation with naringenin and p‐coumaric acid following a weighted gene co‐expression network analysis, while 84 DEGs showed significant negative associations. Moreover, four DEGs were overexpressed in yeast, and it was indicated that their biological function is to confer cold tolerance. These results provide a valuable resource for understanding the underlying molecular mechanism of V. sativa's response to cold stress and furthering the development of breeding research. To develop a simple and general method for improving the circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) performances of materials is of great significance. In this work, two pairs of CPL‐active homochiral metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) P/M‐Et and P/M‐Et(Cd) with eta topology are reported. In comparison to the reported isomorphic Zn‐imidazolate MOFs P‐Me and M‐Me, both luminescence dissymmetry factor (glum) and photoluminescence quantum yields (ΦPL) of P‐Et and M‐Et are largely improved by simply changing the methyl group to an ethyl group of ligands in P‐Et and M‐Et. Furthermore, the |glum| values are significantly amplified up to 0.015 from 0.0057 by introducing the non‐luminescent halogenated aromatics, while an enhanced fluorescence efficiency is observed simultaneously (from 27.2% to 47.3%). The figure of merit value is about 40 times larger than that of P‐Me and M‐Me. Similarly, the CPL performances of P/M‐Et(Cd) are improved by about five times after encapsulating fluorobenzene molecules. The membrane‐tethered protease Tiki antagonizes Wnt3a signaling by cleaving and inactivating Wnt3a in Wnt‐producing cells. Tiki also functions in Wnt‐receiving cells to antagonize Wnt signaling by an unknown mechanism. Here, we demonstrate that Tiki inhibition of Wnt signaling at the cell surface requires Frizzled (FZD) receptors. Tiki associates with the Wnt‐FZD complex and cleaves the N‐terminus of Wnt3a or Wnt5a, preventing the Wnt‐FZD complex from recruiting and activating the coreceptor LRP6 or ROR1/2 without affecting Wnt‐FZD complex stability. Intriguingly, we demonstrate that the N‐terminus of Wnt3a is required for Wnt3a binding to LRP6 and activating β‐catenin signaling, while the N‐terminus of Wnt5a is dispensable for recruiting and phosphorylating ROR1/2. Both Tiki enzymatic activity and its association with the Wnt‐FZD complex contribute to its inhibitory function on Wnt5a. Our study uncovers the mechanism by which Tiki antagonizes Wnt signaling at the cell surface and reveals a negative role of FZDs in Wnt signaling by acting as Tiki cofactors. Our findings also reveal an unexpected role of the Wnt3a N‐terminus in the engagement of the coreceptor LRP6. Accurate and efficient methods for identifying and tracking each animal in a group are needed to study complex behaviors and social interactions. Traditional tracking methods (e.g., marking each animal with dye or surgically implanting microchips) can be invasive and may have an impact on the social behavior being measured. To overcome these shortcomings, video-based methods for tracking unmarked animals, such as fruit flies and zebrafish, have been developed. However, tracking individual mice in a group remains a challenging problem because of their flexible body and complicated interaction patterns. In this study, we report the development of a multi-object tracker for mice that uses the Faster region-based convolutional neural network (R-CNN) deep learning algorithm with geometric transformations in combination with multi-camera/multi-image fusion technology. The system successfully tracked every individual in groups of unmarked mice and was applied to investigate chasing behavior. Background: Salt stress seriously impacts the plantation and productivity of global alfalfa (Medicago sativa). Previously, we genetically defined the M. sativa DROUGHT-INDUCED UNKNOWN PROTEIN 1 (MsDIUP1) as a drought tolerance gene of alfalfa. However, whether it is associated with salt tolerance needs to be explored. Results: In this study, we re-classified MsDIUP1 as a putative novel late embryogenesis abundant protein, and found its promoter activity was strongly induced by salt and ABA treatment. Heterologous overexpression of MsDIUP1 in Arabidopsis led to enhanced salt tolerance and ABA insensitivity, with a higher fresh weight, lateral root number, primary root length, and survival rate compared to the wild-type (WT) plants. Similarly, homologous overexpression of MsDIUP1 also enhanced the salt tolerance of alfalfa over-expression (OE) plants, accompanied by reduced oxidative damage, higher K+/Na+ ratio, increased osmoprotectant accumulation, and improved photosynthetic capacity relative to the WT plants. In reverse, disruption of MsDIUP1 expression caused a salt-hypersensitive phenotype of alfalfa RNA interference (RNAi) plants, with higher oxidative damage, less osmoprotectant accumulation, and lower photosynthetic pigment content than that of the WT. These physiological discoveries were in accordance with differential transcript profiles of the relevant genes associated with stress signaling, antioxidant defense, and osmotic adjustment in the salt-treated alfalfa WT, OE, and RNAi lines. Furthermore, we found that alfalfa OE plants showed no apparent alteration in their forage quality compared with the WT plants. Conclusions: Overall, these results reveal that MsDIUP1 improves plant salt tolerance via regulating stress signaling, antioxidant defense, ion homeostasis, osmotic adjustment, and photosynthesis. Objectives: This study focused on developing and validating a nomogram to predict the overall survival (OS) of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) without distant metastasis based on their clinical characteristics, serum biomarkers, and presence of nasopharyngeal (NP) necrosis. Methods: This study included 9298 patients with NPC. Patients from January 2009 to December 2014 were randomly categorized into the training cohort and validation cohort A. Validation cohort B, whose data were collected from January 2015 to December 2017, was also included. OS was the primary endpoint of this study. Cox regression analysis was used to detect independent risk variables. Decision curve analysis, calibration curve, time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and concordance index (C-index) were used to evaluate the performance of the nomogram model. Results: A total of 267 patients developed NP necrosis after the first routine radiotherapy. After radiotherapy, patients with NP necrosis had significantly lower OS than other patients in all three cohorts (p < 0.001). Eleven factors, including NP necrosis, were involved in the nomogram, which had favorable discrimination and calibration with a C-index of 0.768 in the training cohort, 0.749 in validation cohort A, and 0.739 in validation cohort B. The nomogram exhibited a significantly larger area under the ROC curve for predicting OS than the TNM stage and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Compared with the TNM system and EBV DNA, we established a nomogram model with an accurate prognostic prediction for patients with NPC, which might help with patient management in NPC. Objective To explore the benefit of the pneumoconiosis rehabilitation station for pneumoconiosis patients in both their rehabilitation and reducing the economic burden. Methods The retrospective epidemiological surveys were carried out in October 2018 and October 2019, respectively. The general conditions of pneumoconiosis patients in the pneumoconiosis rehabilitation stations, the number of outpatient visits and hospitalizations, and the costs for these treatments in the past year were investigated, and the direct economic loss of pneumoconiosis patients was analyzed. The subjects included in the 2018 survey were those who had just entered the rehabilitation station and had not yet undergone rehabilitation training, while the subjects included in the 2019 survey were those who had entered the rehabilitation station after October 2018 to carry out rehabilitation training and had completed more than two courses of rehabilitation training. Results A total of 82 male pneumoconiosis patients were investigated in 2018, and 142 male cases were investigated in 2019. In 2019, the median (P25, P75) of the average number of outpatient visits and outpatient expenses, hospitalization times, and hospitalization expenses of pneumoconiosis patients who had received pneumoconiosis rehabilitation training were 4 (2, 6) times and 10 000 (3 000, 13 500) yuan, 4.5 (2, 6) times and 20 000 (9 450,30 000) yuan, respectively. All these were lower than those of the pneumoconiosis patients who did not undergo rehabilitation training in 2018, with the average number of outpatient visits [2 (1, 5) times], outpatient expenses [400 (120, 1 136) yuan], hospitalization expenses [2 (1, 3) times], and hospitalization expenses [3 000 (285, 8 250) yuan], and the difference was significant (P < 0.05). Conclusions The direct economic loss of pneumoconiosis patients is relatively high. Post‐synthetic modification (PSM) is an effective approach for the tailored functionalization of metal‐organic architectures, but its generalizability remains challenging. Herein we report a general covalent PSM strategy to functionalize PdnL2n metal‐organic cages (MOCs, n=2, 12) through an efficient Diels–Alder cycloaddition between peripheral anthracene substituents and various functional motifs bearing a maleimide group. As expected, the solubility of functionalized Pd12L24 in common solvents can be greatly improved. Interestingly, concentration‐dependent circular dichroism and aggregation‐induced emission are achieved with chiral binaphthol (BINOL)‐ and tetraphenylethylene‐modified Pd12L24, respectively. Furthermore, Pd12L24 can be introduced with two different functional groups (e.g. chiral BINOL and achiral pyrene) through a step‐by‐step PSM route to obtain chirality‐induced circularly polarized luminescence. Objective: To accurately achieve distal contact force, a novel temperature-compensated sensor is developed and integrated into an atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation catheter. Methods: A dual elastomer-based dual FBGs structure is used to differentiate the strain on the two FBGs to achieve temperature compensation, and the design is optimized and validated by finite element simulation. Results: The designed sensor has a sensitivity of 90.5 pm/N, resolution of 0.01 N, and root–mean–square error (RMSE) of 0.02 N and 0.04 N for dynamic force loading and temperature compensation, respectively, and can stably measure distal contact forces with temperature disturbances. The prolonged interplay between orographic and climatic changes creates biogeographic barriers, resulting in the allopatric differentiation of plants in the Himalaya–Hengduan Mountains. Such consequences have led us to investigate the long-term Neogene–Quaternary geo-climatic history of the Eastern Himalaya–Hengduan Mountains. Narrowly distributed populations of Koenigia forrestii were sampled (ten populations, 97 individuals) and analysed for their genetic architecture, including phylogenetic reconstruction (based on plastome and plastid DNA/nuclear regions), molecular dating and demography, in combination with niche dynamics. We estimated that K. forrestii (stem age: 11.39 Mya) diverged into three non-overlapping distributed lineages during the Neogene–Quaternary periods (5.84–2.57 Mya), with Eastern Himalaya (EHa) being the first and most diverse lineage. 'Isolation by environment' revealed the existence of genetic structures that were significantly affected by the disparate environment. The presence of demographic events is well supported by the Bayesian skyline plot, indicating recent demographic expansion. Hence, lineage divergence and differentiation were mainly triggered by the heterogeneous environment associated with the biogeographic barriers due to the Tsangpo-Brahmaputra Grand Canyon, Mekong-Salween Divide and local mountain systems. Nevertheless, niche shift and local adaptation are the keys to determining the genetic architecture, demographic dynamics and diversification history of K. forrestii. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
