Summary: Pure Na0.23TiO2 nanofibers were fabricated by a two‐step hydrothermal method after a series of experiments. Na0.23TiO2 is a direct bandgap semiconductor and exhibits a strong photodegradative ability for RhB, which is difficult to be degraded. The photodegradative activity is much enhanced after loaded noble metal Au or Ag nanoparticles on Na0.23TiO2 nanofibers by a chemical bath deposition method. Hot electrons are generated in metal nanoparticles through a localized surface plasmon (LSP) process under light illumination and then diffuse to a semiconductor and reduce the surface potential, which is detected directly by a scanning Kelvin probe microscopy (SKPM). The high electromagnetic field induced by the LSP resonance and strong coupling between noble metal and Na0.23TiO2 are beneficial for the utilization of visible light, electron produce, charge transportation, and separation, as a result, promoting the activity of semiconductor‐based photocatalysts. A synthetic aperture is an effective approach to enhancement of the resolution of telescopes. In this paper, a new method to improve the resolution by using a pair of gratings is proposed. It allows collection of parts of the light diffracted from the object which could not previously reach the imaging device. This method improves the resolution and light energy utilization ratio of telescopes without introducing new chromatic aberration. Recording with both parallel and orthogonal linearly polarized lights, polarization holographic storage in genetic mutant BR-D96N film is reported with both transmission type geometry and reflection type geometry. Polarization properties of diffraction light and scattering light are discussed for two different cases, parallel polarization recording and orthogonal polarization recording. It shows that, compared with recording with parallel polarization lights, orthogonal polarization holography can separate the diffraction light from the scattering noise, therefore improving the signal-to-noise ratio. It also shows that, compared with reconstruction with reference light, reconstruction with phase conjugated wave of the reference light can improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the reconstructed diffraction image, and also the wave-front aberration of the object light introduced by irregular phase object in the optical pass-way can also be corrected effectively, which ensures that the reconstructed diffraction image has a better fidelity. The preliminary angle-multiplexed volume holographic storage multiplexed by transmission type geometry and reflection type geometry is demonstrated in the BR-D96N film. Based on the equation satisfied by optical pulse that is a slowly varying function, the higher-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) including Raman gain and self-steepening effect is deduced in detail, and a new Raman gain function is defined. By using the split-step Fourier method, the influence of the combined effect between Raman gain and self-steepening on the propagation characteristic of dark solitons is simulated in the isotropic fiber. The results show that gray solitons can be symmetrically formed by high order dark soliton, however self-steepening effect will inhibit the formation mechanism through the phenomenon that gray solitons are produced only in the trailing edge of the central black soliton. Meanwhile, the Raman gain changes the propagation characteristic of optical soliton and inhibits the self-steepening effect, resulting in the broadening of pulse width and the decreasing of pulse offset.
