Abstract

The article discusses a study that evaluates the effect of azithromycin use on cardiovascular risk of death. It states that the subjects were excluded from the study if they had history of any illness. Results showed that the risk of cardiovascular death was more with azithromycin as compared to amoxicillin and with ciprofloxacin. It also presents commentary and states that risk of azithromycin in this study contradicted findings from prior randomised trials.
