Goal: The purpose of this study is to identify how do risk management processes and critical success factors (CSFs) impact organizational results. Design / Methodology/Approach: Aqualitative research approach was applied, using a multiple case study, involving six organizations in public and private sectors of the Brazilian economy. Results: The support given by top management, the existence of a corporate governance structure, the integration of risk management across all organizational functions and the importance of stakeholder participation, both in public and private organizations, presented aspects that impact organizational outcomes, such as the preservation of reputation, increase in market value, and the creation of competitive advantage. Limitations of investigation: The present research considered only Brazilian organizations, which is a limiting factor for a possible generalization of the findings. The research can be extended to other organizations and countries, so that other contexts can be discussed and analyzed. Practical implications: Based on the findings, we designed an Organizational Results Matrix (ORM), which aims to support managers dealing with factors conditioning the company's results. Originality/Value: The original value of the research lies in the presentation of ORM. This matrix may enrich the quality and rigor of the actions carried out in public and private sectors, providing to managers an insight into the main dimensions of CSFs and risk management process and their influence on the expected results. This article evaluates the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility practices on organizational results. Although this relationship has been widely studied, there are no previous studies that analyze the role played by the characteristics of different company cultures. Although there are many publications on this topic, it is still not clear if and how such cultural characteristics influence the practice within the scope of operations management. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), organizational results and these cultural characteristics in Brazilian cosmetic companies. A survey was used to gather responses from 102 companies in the Brazilian cosmetic sector, and the data were examined using Correspondence Analysis, analyzing the patterns of associations. The results indicate an association between the most flexible internal cultural practices and a positive perception of the returns from the CSR and organizational results. Therefore, companies interested in enhancing their results should promote the internalization of flexible cultural principles, such as: privileging gender equality; providing employees direct access to their managers; fostering collective practices and interests; creating a free environment to question superiors and creating spaces to listen to employees. Purpose – This study aims to explore the impact of the availability of work life balance (WLB) practices on organisational outcomes in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) mediated by the existence of a culture that supports WLB. Design/methodology/approach – An empirical study was performed with a sample of 229 SMEs representing the metal industry sector of Southeast Spain. Findings – The findings show that a WLB supportive culture mediates the effect of the availability of WLB practices on organisational performance. Research limitations/implications – Among the limitations of this study the authors highlight the transverse nature of the research and the data collection based on self-reports. Practical implications – Companies interested in increasing organisational outcomes should introduce WLB practices. Moreover, practitioners should enhance an organisational culture positive towards employees' balance, communicating their support towards WLB initiatives. Social implications – The availability of WLB initiatives in the organisations generates not only positive outcomes for employees (e.g. reduction of inter-role conflict, higher satisfaction, etc.), but also increases the organisational results for employers. This study analyses the relationships between the technologies of Industry 4.0, continuous improvement, and the business results. To carry out this study, 109 questionnaires to companies of different sectors were collected, but an indispensable condition to take into account was the fact that these companies develop themselves their logistics management. The analysis of the results obtained through the Partial Least Squares (PLS) methodology argues that there is a positive relationship between 4.0 Industry and continuous improvement processes, as well as between continuous improvement processes and organizational results, although it cannot be concluded that a direct relationship between 4.0 Industry and organizational results exists, which means that there are other variables, such as continuous improvement, mediating between them. With this work, there is already an accredited reference of the relationship, which has been verified to exist, between the Industry 4.0, the continuous improvement, and the business results.
