Single-turn coil (STC) is a destructive pulse magnet aiming at a 100–300 T ultra-high magnetic field. A transient discharge circuit model considering the coupling of electromagnetic diffusion and conductor deformation is proposed, and the transient coil impedance characteristics are investigated. The results show that the coil resistance first decreases and then increases due to electromagnetic diffusion and temperature rise, respectively, while the coil inductance always increases because of the conductor's outward motion. By comparison, the simulation results are consistent with the experimental data, and the correctness of the model is validated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
