Abstract: Nucleophilic trifluoromethylation of aromatic N-tosylaldimines has been achieved using trifluoromethyltrimethylsilane (TMSCF
3 ) in the presence of the in situ generated N-heterocyclic carbene catalysts. Aromatic N-tosylaldimines with electron-withdrawing as well as electron-donating groups on the aryl ring afforded the corresponding trifluoromethylated sulfonamides in moderate to good yields.Graphical Abstract:[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
