Big Data platforms store vast amounts of information, necessitating robust security measures, including risk-based approaches. Risk assessment, a key part of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), involves evaluating threats, vulnerabilities, and documenting risks through risk registers. Organizations face the challenge of allocating resources effectively to implement controls that mitigate these risks. This involves calculating risk scores before and after control implementation and prioritizing them—an NP-Complete (Nondeterministic Polynomial-time Complete) problem. This paper presents a mathematical model for solving this using the Z3 Satisfiability Modulo Theories (SMT) solver. The model enables risk-based planning for security implementation in big data platforms. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the approach, with the system processing up to 11 risks (almost 40 million permutations) efficiently, compared to brute force methods, which struggle beyond six risks (720 permutations). Background: Mobile health (mHealth) applications have been utilized in chronic diseases to improve medication adherence, though factors driving engagement remain understudied. We previously demonstrated the benefits of mHealth app utilization in increasing adherence to hydroxyurea. In the "Integration of mHealth into Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Care to Increase Hydroxyurea Utilization" (meSH) study, greater engagement with the InCharge Health app increased the percentage of days covered (PDC) for hydroxyurea. However, factors influencing app engagement were not investigated. This study aimed to identify patient-level factors associated with mHealth engagement during and post-study among adolescents and adults with SCD. Methods: All meSH participants were included. The InCharge Health app use was measured for 24 weeks (study period) and 12 weeks (post-study period). Baseline demographics and validated measures of self-efficacy, financial hardship, and pain severity, impact, and frequency were evaluated as predictors of app engagement during the study period and post-study using linear models. Results: Complete app use data were obtained from 284 of 293 participants, including 150 (52.8%) females and 240 (84.8%) who were HbSS/HbSβ0-thalassemia with a median age of 27 years. During the study period, 232 (81.7%) used InCharge Health at least once (median use excluding zeros: 26 days; IQR: 7–72 days). During the post-study period, 132 (46.5%) participants used the app at least once (median use excluding zeros: 16 days; IQR: 3–44 days). During the study period, the HbSS genotype, age > 25 years, higher education, higher self-efficacy score, and lower pain severity were associated with greater app engagement. Only age (p = 0.0032) and financial hardship (p = 0.0125) were significant in a multivariable model after backward elimination. During the post-study period, older age (p = 0.035), lower pain severity (p = 0.021) and lower frequency of pain (p = 0.033) predicted mHealth engagement. All three remained significant in a multivariable model after backward elimination. Conclusions: Older age, lower financial hardship, lower pain severity, and greater self-efficacy were associated with increased engagement with a mHealth intervention for improving medication adherence among people living with SCD. This research can shift future app development from focusing on factors that drive patient interaction with mHealth targeting modifiable factors influencing app engagement. Sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) has received substantial attention for its potential to improve the electrochemical behavior and thermomechanical capabilities of direct methanol fuel cells. This study examines how the integration by solution casting of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) and 2,3-dialdehyde cellulose (DAC) onto highly sulfonated PEEK (with a sulfonation degree of 80%) affects its physicochemical properties and morphological structures. The mechanical attributes and proton conductivity of the polymer matrix are impacted by MCC and DAC inclusion into SPEEK membrane. The maximum proton conductivity was seen in the SPEEK/MCC membranes at 70 °C (up to 0.1 S cm−1). A circular reinforced concrete (RC) bridge column with two layers of longitudinal and spiral reinforcements is becoming a common structural form in high-seismic regions because they are expected to have improved seismic performance compared to conventional bridge piers. In seismic hazard zones, a large amount of transverse reinforcement is commonly required to satisfy the so-called antibuckling requirements. Accordingly, the double-confined steel (DCS) RC bridge pier is a simple and effective way to achieve high ductility levels and postyield stiffness for bridge piers in seismic regions. In DCS, the longitudinal steel rebars are well distributed inside the cross section; at the same time, the two layers of transverse reinforcement outline different levels of confinement for concrete, including unconfined (cover), singly confined (positioned between two spiral layers), and doubly confined (found inside the inner spiral layer or the core). The adopted reinforcement details, layout, and scale were unprecedented for lateral testing of large-scale DCS. Therefore, this experimental program investigated the effectiveness of DCS as an alternative to typical RC bridge piers. The behavior of large-scale DCS was compared with the performance of conventional RC bridge pier. During the quasi-static cyclic lateral displacement-controlled loading, the onset of cracking, concrete cover spalling, damage progression, plastic hinge length development, lateral load–displacement relationship, and strain in the steel reinforcements were observed. Overall, the curvature, stiffness degradation, and energy dissipation capacity all revealed that the DCS could significantly enhance the seismic performance of a bridge pier. A fiber-based finite-element model was generated to predict the experimental response of the piers under cyclic loading. Charts depicting the relationship between the ratio of elastic stiffness and axial load were developed to serve as a valuable design resource for bridge piers. The charts were created by conducting moment–curvature (M−Φ) analyses on DCS sections. These analyses involved varying the longitudinal reinforcement ratios, reinforcement layouts, and other parameters while also considering different axial load ratios. Subsequently, the performance-based design (PBD) approach was employed to assess the extent of damage relative to engineering demand parameters. Furthermore, a comprehensive example was provided to showcase the design of DCS within the framework of PBD. The findings revealed that DCS successfully met the performance objectives outlined in the PBD guidelines, making it an attractive design option for conventional RC bridge piers. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of subsurface layers for infrastructure development using geophysical and geotechnical studies. Six seismic refraction and six 2D geoelectic profiles were conducted in the study area to analyze the geotechnical characteristics of the subsoil in order to assess its suitability for construction projects. According to the geophysical investigation, there are two main geoelectric strata, each with a different lithology and thickness. The first layer has high resistivity values of more than 200 (Ωm) and its thickness is between 3.5 and 6.3 m. The second layer's resistivity ranges from 0.3 to 200 (Ωm). The findings indicate that the near-surface area of the study site is composed of two layers in addition to the surface layer, which consists of semi-consolidated wadi fill deposits of gravel, sand, and silt with rock fragments. The first layer comprises fractured limestone with clay intercalation, followed by a second layer of marly limestone, which transitions into marl and clay. Both compressional (P) and shear (S) waves were detected and analyzed. The shallow seismic refraction technique indicates that the velocity waves (Vp) in the first and second layers range from 133 to 770 and 790 to 3100 m/s respectively. Various engineering parameters for the second layer were determined, including elastic moduli (bulk modulus, Poisson's ratio, rigidity modulus, and Young's modulus), competence scales (stress ratio, concentration index, material index and density gradient), and bearing capacity (ultimate and allowable). The average Poisson ratio for the first and second layers is 0.235. The ultimate bearing capacity (Qu) of the first layer ranges from 379.1 to 1031.2 gm/cm2 and between 1040.8 and 1548.5 gm/cm2 of the second layer. Allowable bearing capacity (Qall) for the first layer is between 126.4 and 343.7 gm/cm2, and for the second layer, it is between 346.9 and 516.2 gm/cm2. According to the geotechnical investigation's findings, the range of liquid limit (LL) values is between 41.20 and 86.30%, the range of plastic limit (PL) values is between 18 and 35.25%, the range of plasticity index (PI) values is between 14.17 and 51.45%, and the range of free swelling values is between 60 and 170%. However, the study identified high-risk areas in the study area. These zones are located in the first and second layers represented by strongly swelling clay layers and strongly fractured limestone, which will have a major impact on the road and buildings. Ethylene is an important phytohormone that orchestrates a multitude of physiological and biochemical processes regulating fruit ripening, from early maturation to post-harvest. This review offers a comprehensive analysis of ethylene's multifaceted roles in climacteric fruit ripening, characterized by a pronounced increase in ethylene production and respiration rates. It explores potential genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying ethylene's action, focusing on key transcription factors, biosynthetic pathway genes, and signal transduction elements crucial for the expression of ripening-related genes. The varied sensitivity and dependency of ripening traits on ethylene are elucidated through studies employing genetic mutations and ethylene inhibitors such as AVG and 1-MCP. Additionally, the modulation of ripening traits by ethylene is influenced by its interaction with other phytohormones, including auxins, abscisic acid, gibberellins, jasmonates, brassinosteroids, and salicylic acid. Pre-harvest fruit drop is intricately linked to ethylene, which triggers enzyme activity in the abscission zone, leading to cell wall degradation and fruit detachment. This review also highlights the potential for applying ethylene-related knowledge in commercial contexts to enhance fruit quality, control pre-harvest drop, and extend shelf life. Future research directions are proposed, advocating for the integration of physiological, genetic, biochemical, and transcriptional insights to further elucidate ethylene's role in fruit ripening and its interaction with other hormonal pathways. Bone tissue is constantly regenerated and repaired through a finely balanced process known as bone remodeling. Many miRNAs act as regulators of the signaling pathways involved in bone metabolic processes to maintain tissue homeostasis. This study aimed to assess the circulating levels of MIR21, MIR34a, and MIR155 in human serum and their bone expression, and the expression of bone turnover-related genes which can reflect the bone quality. This prospective study was conducted on 60 patients (30 males and 30 females) indicated for surgical interventions for neural decompression +/- fixation. Relative quantification of expression of MIR21, miR34a, and MIR155 and bone related genes was assayed using PCR. The serum levels of osteocalcin and Serum Bone Alkaline Phosphatase (sBAP) were assayed using a human ELISA kit. The main finding of the present work was the strong positive association between the circulating levels of only miR21 and MIR155 and their bone expression in the population under study and with bone markers and target genes Also, a positive association was found between both bone expression and circulating MIR21 levels with age and sBAP. The significance of groundwater is largely shaped by the quality of wastewater from industrial, agricultural, and municipal sources. Understanding the controlling factors is essential to prevent the spread of contamination in groundwater. These factors could be divided into physical defenses, such as grouting and slurry walls, and hydrodynamic factors, such as injection and pumping wells. In this study, the groundwater transport model (MT3D) and the flow model (MODFLOW) were used to simulate four scenarios for groundwater protection. The first and second scenarios involve grouting and constructing slurry walls to change their depth, permeability, and thickness. The third and fourth scenarios involve injection and pumping wells changing the rate of flow, screen length, and the number of wells. The results show that increasing the thickness of the grouted soil and increasing the grouting depth help to control the level of contamination. Furthermore, multi-slurry walls upstream or downstream of the contamination source are sufficient for preventing the spread of contaminants. The results also reveal that rising rates of injection or pumping wells allow for minimal contamination propagation. The growing number of wells provided greater control over the injection rather than pumping wells. Background: Long noncoding ribonucleic acids (lncRNAs), small noncoding RNAs known as microRNAs (miRNAs) as well as some cytokines are recently thought to have a role in many inflammatory and autoimmune disorders including Behçet's disease (BD). This chronic multisystem disease lacks the particular histological or laboratory findings that might aid in its diagnosis. Therefore, any association with such molecules may have an impact on understanding the disease pathogenesis and/or management. The current study compared the levels of NEAT1, miR-21 and IL17 levels in sera of Egyptian BD patients and healthy individuals. The expression levels of these molecules were further investigated for their association with BD manifestations and activity aiming to explore their potential application in disease management. Results: NEAT1 & miR-21 showed down-regulation while IL-17 showed up-regulation among BD patients as compared to controls. IL-17 had significant correlation with major vessels involvement and cyclophosphamide intake. NEAT1 showed a significant negative correlation with colchicine intake. Disease activity did not correlate significantly with any of NEAT1, miR-21 or IL-17. Conclusion: NEAT1, miR-21 and IL17 might have a role in Behçet's disease pathogenesis, so more research is needed to unveil that role and their potential usage as biomarkers for the diagnosis or therapeutic targets. Five novel complexes of nickel (II)(1), zinc (II)(2), zirconium (IV)(3), lanthanum (III)(4), thorium (IV)(5), with the dithranol (Dithr) ligand and glycine (Gly) were synthesized and characterized. Their structures were investigated using elemental analysis, molar conductance (Λ), magnetic studies (μeff), spectroscopic methods (FT‐IR, UV–Vis., 1H NMR, XRD), mass spectrometry, TG/DTG and DTA. Findings revealed that Dithr was chelated via two hydroxyl oxygen atoms and carbonyl group while, Gly chelated through carboxylic oxygen and nitrogen atom. All complexes appeared with molar ratio 1:1:1 (M:Dithr:Gly) and were electrolytes with 1:1 for (1), (2) and (3) complexes, 1:2 for (4) complex, and 1:3 for (5) complex according to elemental analysis and molar conductivity data. All metal‐chelates, except Th (IV)‐complex, were confirmed to have lattice water molecules based on their thermal behavior. Average crystalline size of all compounds was calculated using XRD analysis and found in the range 35.50–55.57 nm, indicating the compounds existed as nanocrystalline structure, except zirconium (IV) complex. Then, we studied cytotoxic effects of our synthetic drugs on the survival of an aggressive‐breast‐cancer‐histotype"66cl‐4." Given its involvement in cancer‐metastasis, matrix‐metalloproteinase‐(MMP)‐9 protein expression was evaluated using western‐blotting‐assays. Th(IV)‐complex emerged as the most effective option in inhibiting cancer‐cells‐proliferation (IC50: 9.39 μM), and suppressed expression MMP‐9 levels by 86%, at 25 μM dose, and drug‐binding‐affinity was interpreted via molecular modeling. MRSA, a resistant bacteria causing severe infections, is targeted by researchers developing new anti-resistance compounds. The study aimed to investigate the MRSA inhibitory activity of two series of benzofuran-pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines 1 and 2, attached to arene units via methylene or azo linkage, respectively. The desired products were prepared, in 82–92% yields, by reacting benzofuran-based enaminone 4 with the appropriate 1H-pyrazole-3,5-diamines 5 in pyridine at reflux for 5–6 h. The new hybrids showed a wide spectrum of antibacterial activity against different ATCC strains. Products with azo linkage and para-substituted arene units with electron-releasing groups demonstrated higher antibacterial activity. 3-((4-Methoxyphenyl)diazenyl)-linked pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine 2e demonstrates activity that exceeded the reference ciprofloxacin with MIC/MBC values of 1.8/3.6 µM against S. aureus and E. coli strains. Also, it demonstrated more effective MRSA inhibitory activity than the reference linezolid, with MIC/MBC values of 3.6/14.4 and 1.8/7.2 µM against MRSA ATCC:33591 and ATCC:43300 strains, respectively. Seismic activity in Aswan is influenced by the complex interactions of tectonic plates, the accumulation of stress, and the presence of geological fault systems. It revealed that epicenters are well distributed along four fault segments in a conjugate pattern, indicating a prominent E-W compressional stress. This research aims to explore the characteristics of seismicity and seismotectonics, with a focus on assessing their implications for risk reduction and disaster management in this densely populated region. A data review from the Egyptian National Seismological Network (ENSN) identified 464 earthquakes occurred between 2000 and 2021, with local magnitudes ranging from 0.3 to 4.4, and depths up to 25 km. The calculated Gutenberg-Richter b-value is approximately 0.87 ± 0.05, indicating a gradual stress accumulation. The current analysis shows a more consistent level of moderate seismic activity, unlike previous studies in Aswan region that reported a wide range of b-values from 0.554 to 1.07. This suggests that while earlier research captured a wider range of seismic behaviors, recent data indicates a stabilization in earthquake frequency and intensity. Additionally, the fractal dimension (Dc) calculated at 1.57 ± 0.04 shows an intermediate level of complexity and reflecting a clustering pattern of earthquakes. The variations in the b-value with different magnitudes and depths signify the involvement of active smaller faults, responsible for earthquakes up to magnitude 2.2, which then transition to fractured zones inducing earthquakes up to magnitude 2.5. This transition is followed by a decline in seismic activity, indicating regions that are potentially more likely to experience larger earthquakes. Moreover, stress disparities at various depths contribute to smaller earthquakes within the 5-10 km depth range. Return period analysis suggests that the earthquakes of magnitude 3.7 or higher are expected to occur approximately once every decade in Aswan. Limited research in Saudi Arabia has devolved into the prevalence and genetic diversity of begomoviruses. Utilizing Illumina MiSeq sequencing, we obtained 21 full-length begomovirus sequences (2.7–2.8 kb) from eight cucumber plants grown in fields and greenhouses. We found that two complete begomovirus genomes were variants of the Boushehr strain of tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) with nucleotide (nt) sequence identities of 94.7-95.9%. Another fulllength genome was a variant of TYLCV-Iran with 94.6% identity. Five full-length sequences closely matched the DNA-A of watermelon chlorotic stunt virus (WmCSV) isolates with 97.9-98.7% nt sequence identities, while five sequences had their highest nt sequence identities (95.8-96.3%) with the DNA-B of WmCSV isolates. Simultaneously, four sequences were 99.1-99.6% identical to the DNA-A of tomato leaf curl Palampur virus (ToLCPalV). Four sequences matched the DNA-B of ToLCPalV reported from Iran and Saudi Arabia with identities ranging from 96.2-100%. Four plants showed a mixed infection of these begomoviruses. Most ORFs showed evidence of negative selection pressure, suggesting that purifying selection plays a crucial role in shaping the diversity of these begomoviruses. Additionally, potential intra- and interspecies recombination events were detected in the TYLCV and WmCSV DNA-B genomic regions. The ToLCPalV isolates identified in this study formed a cluster with the other ToLCPalV isolates reported from Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq, representing a unique lineage distinct from ToLCPalV reported from Southeast Asia. High mutation rate and robust selection facilitated the independent evolution of ToLCPalV without recombination. Purpose: This is a retrospective study of one-stage anterior sagittal sphincter saving anorectoplasty (ASSSARP) for repairing rectovestibular fistula (RVF) including operative details and postoperative complications, functional and cosmetic outcome. Patients and methods: Records of 41 cases of RVF, managed between April 2010 and September 2019 by one-stage ASSSARP, were reviewed. Preoperative preparation, both early and late postoperative care & complications, hospital stay, and functional & cosmetic outcomes were reported. Results: The mean age was 6.6 months. Vaginal tear occurred in 5/41 cases, and distal rectal tears in 4/41 cases. Thirteen patients suffered mild superficial wound inflammation; while Skin dehiscence; occurred in five patients. No colostomy or redo was needed. The mean hospital stay was 6.1 days. Mean follow-up was 43.13 months; (Range; 24–100 months). Subclinical anal stricture was detected in six patients. Constipation occurred in 14 cases. Soiling grade I occurred in five patients. Thirty-two patients reached past the age of three years; two of whom showed cough/diarrhea incontinence. Conclusion: One-stage ASSSARP is safe and gives functional and cosmetic results comparable to other techniques. It provides better access during RVF repair. The avoidance of muscle incision protects against muscle breakdown, if infection sets in, and thus against incontinence. Water coloring has the properties of resistance to mutagenic, toxic, aggressive, carcinogenic, destructive, strong light and unstable oxidation and air pollution and has serious effects on environmental systems and human health. Because of its severe toxicity, methylene blue (MB) can cause cancer, mutagenesis, and teratogenic consequences in people as well as enter the food chain. The main objective of this investigation is to study the modeling and the optimization parameters of MB adsorption using a low‐cost adsorbent Fe3O4. The parameters evaluated for adsorption are the adsorbent dosage, pH, contact time, and temperature using the response surface methodology. The principal variables affecting MB removal were pH (3–11), catalyst dosage (0.01–0.3 g), contact duration (10–180 min), and temperature (25–55 °C). To select an experimental domain, a preliminary study was performed first. The results showed that at pH 10, 1.4 g L−1 Fe3O4‐nanoparticles (NPs) had the highest removal efficiency of cationic dye MB (20 ppm) from aqueous solutions by batch adsorption technique. The pseudo‐second‐order (PSO) kinetic models and the Langmuir isotherm provided the best fit for the adoption of MB. The adsorption process was exothermic and spontaneous, according to thermodynamics studies. To determine the effect of the investigated variables and their interaction on the adsorption process, a Box–Behnken design was used. A second‐order polynomial equation was used to model the experimental results. The experimental findings were consistent with the suggested model as demonstrated by the high value of the determination coefficient. The performance of the model equation verified the experimental observation with just a slight divergence, and the values acquired from the experiment and model predictions were found to be in suitable agreement. According to the numerical optimization, 98.61 % is the optimal elimination efficiency for MB adsorption. Movement is a central behavior of daily living; thus lost or compromised movement due to disease, injury, or amputation causes enormous loss of productivity and quality of life. While prosthetics have evolved enormously over the years, restoring natural sensorimotor (SM) control via a prosthesis is a difficult problem which neuroengineering has yet to solve. With a focus on upper limb prosthetics, this perspective article discusses the neurophysiology of motor control under healthy conditions and after amputation, the development of upper limb prostheses from early generations to current state-of-the art sensorimotor neuroprostheses, and how postinjury changes could complicate prosthetic control. This investigation examines fractional higher-order evolution and fundamental wave equations, namely the third- and fifth-order fractional Korteweg-de Vries (KdV)-type equations, which regulate diverse nonlinear physical processes, especially those occurring in fluids and plasmas. For this purpose, the Aboodh/Laplace residual power series method (ARPSM) and the Aboodh/Laplace transform iterative method (ATIM) are carried out to derive high-accurate approximations. These methods are applied in conjunction with the Caputo operator, which effectively handles the fractional derivatives. The results illustrate the efficacy of both ARPSM and ATIM in analyzing third- and fifth-order time fractional KdV-type equations, providing valuable insights and potential applications in fractional calculus and its applications to complicated physical and engineering issues. The derived approximations are investigated graphically and numerically to understand the effect of the fractional parameter on the properties of the nonlinear phenomena characterized by this family. Furthermore, the precision and efficacy of the suggested techniques are verified by comparing the derived approximations to the exact solutions for the integer-order cases. The findings of this investigation have the potential to benefit a wide range of researchers who are interested in optical physics, fluid physics, and plasma physics. Recently, there has been an increased interest in developing new antibacterial agents that target the MurB inhibition, which is necessary for bacterial survival. We developed a two-step tandem protocol to synthesize 15 new bis(pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines), which are attached to alkane cores by amide linkages. The protocol involved reacting the appropriate bis(2-cyanoacetamides) with dimethylformamide-dimethylacetal in toluene at 80 °C for 3-4 h. The crude bis(2-cyano-3-(dimethylamino)acrylamides) was collected, then reacted with 3,5-diamino-1H-pyrazoles. The reaction gave the desired products in 82-92% yields after 5-6 h of heating at reflux in pyridine. Bis(2,7-diamino-3-(4-methoxybenzyl)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxamides) demonstrated comparable efficacy to ciprofloxacin. Their MIC and MBC ranged from 2.8-3.0 and 5.7-6.0 µM, respectively, against S. aureus and E. coli. Bacterial infections, particularly those associated with methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin‐resistant Enterococcus (VRE), threaten public health and economies, with rising antibiotic resistance resulting in more deaths yearly. In this study, we investigated the bacterial inhibitory activity of some new 1,3,4‐oxadiazoles prepared, in good yields, using a two‐step tandem protocol. Therefore, the appropriate N‐benzoylhydrazones were prepared first, then, without isolation, underwent oxidative‐cyclization in the presence of chloramine trihydrate. More 4‐acyloxyphenyl‐linked 1,3,4‐oxadiazoles were prepared by the pyridine‐mediated acylation of 2‐(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐1,3,4‐oxadiazoles with the appropriate acyl chlorides. Some new products demonstrated good activity, particularly against S. aureus and Enterococcus faecalis strains. The 4‐(5‐(furan‐2‐yl)‐1,3,4‐oxadiazol‐2‐yl)phenyl acetate showed comparable antibacterial activity to ciprofloxacin, with MIC/MBC values up to 3.6/7.2 µM against the previous strains. Moreover, it demonstrated good inhibitory activity against different MRSA and VRE strains when compared to linezolid. Neuroinflammation is important in the pathophysiology of several degenerative brain disorders. This study looked at the potential neuroprotective benefits of cilostazol, a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, against LPS‐induced hippocampus damage in rodents and the principal molecular involvement of AKT/GSK3β/CREB signaling pathways. Behavioral tests revealed that cilostazol successfully corrected LPS‐induced neurobehavioral impairments. Furthermore, cilostazol therapy lowered hippocampal levels of amyloid beta 1–42 (Aβ1‐42) and p‐tau protein, both of which are critical pathological indicators of neurodegenerative disorders. Furthermore, cilostazol administration suppressed LPS‐induced rises in hippocampus caspase‐3 and NF‐κB levels while elevating rat B‐cell/lymphoma 2 (BCL2) and brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels, which are implicated in neuronal survival and synaptic plasticity. Cilostazol treatment also restored the decreased phosphorylation of protein kinase B (p‐AKT) and reduced the elevated levels of phosphorylated glycogen synthase kinase‐3 beta (p‐GSK3β) and cAMP response element‐binding protein (CREB) in the hippocampus of LPS‐treated rats. Histopathological examination revealed that cilostazol ameliorated LPS‐induced brain damage with reduced neuronal loss and gliosis. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed a decrease in Iba‐1 expression, indicating a reduction in microglial activation in the cilostazol‐treated group compared to the LPS group. The findings advocate that cilostazol exerts neuroprotective effects against LPS‐induced hippocampal injury by modulating the AKT/GSK3β/CREB pathway and curbing neuroinflammation. Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of using different types of metallic and non-metallic telescopic crown attachment materials on wear resistance and surface tomography changes in implant-retained mandibular overdentures. Materials and methods: Completely edentulous mandibular epoxy models were fabricated, in which two implants were placed in the canine region and retained to the implants with three different material combinations used for the construction of telescopic attachments. Thirty-three identical mandibular overdentures were fabricated using the conventional standardized technique. The study groups were divided into three categories according to the material used for the construction of the secondary copings. The primary copings in all the study groups were constructed of PEEK, while the secondary coping in group I was PEEK, group II was ZrO2 and CoCr for group III. Primary copings were cemented on a ready-made abutment. Secondary copings were placed over the primary copings in the desired path of insertion, then picked up into the intaglio surface of the overdentures. A cyclic loading machine was used to apply repeated insertion-removal cycles simulating nearly 10 years of clinical use. Stereomicroscope with a built-in camera was used to monitor the reduction in width of the primary copings to evaluate the wear resistance of each material combination. Results: There was highly statistically significant difference between the study groups after the application of 1.000, 5.000 and 10.000 cycles. The highest level of wear resistance was recorded for the PEEK/PEEK combination, whereas PEEK/ZrO2 and PEEK/CoCr showed no significant differences. Conclusions: Implant retained overdenture with PEEK-PEEK telescopic crown attachment is associated with the highest wear resistance among all the study groups. PEEK-PEEK combination may be the treatment of choice for fabrication of telescopic attachment in implant retained overdenture as it provides better resistance to wear. It offers the advantages for geriatric patients as it decreases the possibility for repeated repair and replacement of attachment, increase long-term patient satisfaction and shelf life of prosthesis. Compressive sensing (CS) has been widely used to sense the wideband spectrum with fewer measurements by taking advantage of radio spectrum underutilization. As new smart devices, such as IoT devices, smart home devices, and wearables, use batteries and have limited memory, more research is needed to reduce the overuse of cognitive radio (CR) resources through spectrum sensing. To reduce the number of compressive measurements required for spectrum recovery, researchers proposed approaches like weighted and sequential compressive sensing. In this paper, we estimate the primary user's (PU) behavior statistics and use the estimated information in a novel weighted sequential compressive spectrum sensing approach. Our proposed approach can reduce and adapt the number of measurements and the sensing time to the changing number of active channels in a dynamically changing wideband spectrum. Biofilms currently represent the most prevalent bacterial lifestyle, enabling them to resist environmental stress and antibacterial drugs. Natural antibacterial agents could be a safe solution for controlling bacterial biofilms in food industries without affecting human health and environmental safety. A methanolic extract of Azadirachta indica (neem) leaves was prepared and analyzed using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry for the identification of its phytochemical constituents. Four food-borne bacterial pathogens (Bacillus cereus, Novosphingobium aromaticivorans, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Serratia marcescens) were tested for biofilm formation qualitatively and quantitatively. The antibacterial and antibiofilm properties of the extract were estimated using liquid cultures and a microtiter plate assay. The biofilm inhibition mechanisms were investigated using a light microscope and molecular docking technique. The methanolic extract contained 45 identified compounds, including fatty acids, ester, phenols, flavonoids, terpenes, steroids, and antioxidants with antimicrobial, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. Substantial antibacterial activity in relation to the extract was recorded, especially at 100 μg/mL against K. pneumoniae and S. marcescens. The extract inhibited biofilm formation at 100 μg/mL by 83.83% (S. marcescens), 73.12% (K. pneumoniae), and 54.4% (N. aromaticivorans). The results indicate efficient biofilm formation by the Gram-negative bacteria S. marcescens, K. pneumoniae, and N. aromaticivorans, giving 0.74, 0.292, and 0.219 OD at 595 nm, respectively, while B. cereus was found to have a low biofilm formation potential, i.e., 0.14 OD at 595 nm. The light microscope technique shows the antibiofilm activities with the biofilm almost disappearing at 75 μg/mL and 100 μg/mL concentrations. Load balancing is critical for container-based cloud computing environments for several reasons. A lack of appropriate load balancing techniques could result in a decrease in performance and possible service interruptions as some nodes get overloaded, while others are left underutilized. Cloud service providers can reduce latency and boost system performance by strategically placing containers using clustering algorithms. These techniques aid in efficiently using resources and load balancing by clustering related containers together according to their shared attributes. Clustering strategies are effective in allocating and controlling resources to meet the demands of a changing workload. Algorithms for clustering combine related workloads or containers into clusters, improving performance isolation and maximizing resource usage. One popular methodology for data clustering is the K-Medoid Clustering Algorithm. It is especially helpful when working with categorical data or when the dataset contains outliers. K-medoids is an unsupervised clustering approach where the core of the cluster is made up of data points known as “medoids.” A medoid is a location in the cluster whose total distance to every object in the cluster—also known as its dissimilarity—is as small as possible. Any appropriate distance function may be used, such as the Manhattan distance, the Euclidean distance, or another one. Thus, by choosing K medoids from our data sample, the K-medoids method splits the data into K clusters. This work presents the K-Medoid clustering technique for containers, which can enhance load balancing, decrease resource execution times, and increase resource utilization rates all at the same time. The results of the experiment show that the proposed method outperforms MACO and FCFS in terms of throughput by about 70% when number of cloudlets increased. The red palm weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus, poses a significant threat to date palms globally, heavily relying on symbiotic microbes for various physiological and behavioral functions. This comprehensive study delves into the intricate dynamics of RPW gut microbiota, revealing a diverse microbial community consisting of seven genera and eight species from Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Actinobacteria. The stability of gut bacteria across different life stages was observed, with notable impacts on larval metabolism attributed to shifts in bacterial composition. Bacillus subtilis emerged as a key player, producing a spectrum of metabolic enzymes. Furthermore, the gut bacteria exhibited remarkable pesticide degradation capabilities, suggesting a potential role in the host's resistance to pesticides. The Arthrobacter sp. was identified as a promising candidate for eco-friendly pest biocontrol and biodegradation strategies. Investigating the influence of thermal stress on two groups of RPW larvae (conventional-fed and antibiotic-fed) at varying temperatures (15, 27, and 35 °C) unveiled potential survival implications. This study highlights the pivotal role of bacterial symbionts in enabling larvae adaptation and thermal stress tolerance. This study investigated the potential enhancement of proton conductivity in Nafion membranes through the incorporation of sulfo ethyl cellulose (SEC) at varying weight ratios (5 and 10 wt.%). Results indicated that increasing the weight ratio of SEC led to improvements in water absorption, activation energy, and proton conductivity within the composite membranes. Specifically, the composite membrane exhibited a significant increase in proton conductivity, reaching up to 170 mS cm−1, in contrast to the pristine Nafion membrane which recorded 40.08 mS cm−1, particularly at temperatures exceeding 120°C. At the sub‐molecular level, Fourier transfer inferred spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis of Nafion/SEC membranes unveiled cross‐linking interactions occurring between the sulfo acid groups of Nafion chains and the hydroxyls within the SEC matrix. Moreover, X‐ray diffraction (XRD) findings of the composite membranes were instrumental in identifying crystalline phases, orientation, and structural features. The results indicated variations in atomic radius and alterations in lattice parameters at the nanoscale, induced by heightened surface forces resulting from the inclusion of SEC in the Nafion matrix. This phenomenon leads to a reduction in crystallite size, accompanied by an increase in peak broadening and surface area within the composite membranes. Such changes signify a clear interaction between SEC and Nafion, as confirmed by both scanning electron microscopy and thermal gravimetry analyses. This retrospective study was performed to evaluate plan quality and treatment delivery parameters of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for prostate cancer. The study utilized different isocentric modulated techniques: intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) using 6 MV flattening filter (FF) and 10 MV flattening filter-free beams (FFF). Fifteen retrospective prostate cancer patients were selected for this study. Sixty plans were created with an SBRT-prescribed dose of 36.25 Gy delivered in five fractions. Planning target volume (PTV) coverage, plan quality indices, doses delivered to organs at risk (OARs), and treatment delivery parameters were compared for all plans. It turned out that VMAT plans, particularly those using the FFF beam, provided superior target conformality and a steeper dose gradient as compared to IMRT plans. Additionally, VMAT plans showed better OARs sparing compared to IMRT plans. However, IMRT plans delivered a lower maximum dose to the target than VMAT plans. Importantly, the VMAT plans resulted in reduced treatment delivery parameters, including beam on time (BOT), monitor unit (MU), and modulation factor (MF), compared to IMRT plans. Furthermore, a statistically significant difference was observed in BOT and mean body dose between FF and FFF beams, with FFF beams showing superior performance. Considering all results, VMAT using 10 MV (FFF) is suggested for treating prostate cancer patients with SBRT. This offers the fastest delivery in addition to maintaining the highest plan quality. Persistent inward currents (PICs) and persistent outward currents (POCs) regulate the excitability and firing behaviours of spinal motoneurons (MNs). Given their potential role in MN excitability dysfunction in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), PICs have been previously studied in superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1)‐G93A mice (the standard animal model of ALS); however, conflicting results have been reported on how the net PIC changes during disease progression. Also, individual PICs and POCs have never been examined before in symptomatic ALS. To fill this gap, we measured the net and individual PIC and POC components of wild‐type (WT) and SOD MNs in current clamp and voltage clamp during disease progression (assessed by neuroscores). We show that SOD MNs of symptomatic mice experience a much larger net PIC, relative to WT cells from age‐matched littermates. Specifically, the Na+ and Ca2+ PICs are larger, whereas the lasting SK‐mediated (SKL) POC is smaller than WT (Na+ PIC is the largest and SKL POC is the smallest components in SOD MNs). We also show that PIC dysregulation is present at symptom onset, is sustained throughout advanced disease stages and is proportional to SOD MN cell size (largest dysregulation is in the largest SOD cells, the most vulnerable in ALS). Additionally, we show that studying disease progression using neuroscores is more accurate than using SOD mouse age, which could lead to misleading statistics and age‐based trends. Collectively, this study contributes novel PIC and POC data, reveals ionic mechanisms contributing to the vulnerability differential among MN types/sizes, and provides insights on the roles PIC and POC mechanisms play in MN excitability dysfunction in ALS. Purpose: A wide range of cytokines has been demonstrated to be involved in the etiology of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Gene polymorphisms may potentially contribute to a hereditary predisposition toward circulating cytokine levels as (high, intermediate, or low) since they can affect cytokine production or function. The aim of this study was to investigate the roles of cytokine levels and the association of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within cytokine genes with T1DM in Saudi children. Methods: Totals of 91 well-characterized T1DM patients and 91 T1DM-free control subjects were enrolled in this study. Results: The levels of 3 circulating cytokines (transforming growth factor [TGF]-β1, interleukin [IL]-10, and IL-6) and 6 SNPs in 3 cytokine genes (TGF-β1 [rs1800470 and rs1800471], IL-10 [rs1800896, rs1800871, and rs1800872], and IL-6 [rs1800795]) that contribute to genetic susceptibility were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and polymerase chain reaction with sequence-specific primers. Our fn dings show that TGF-β1 serum levels were signifcantly lower in the children with T1DM than in the control participants. The TGF-β1 genotypes with a high-production phenotype were signifcantly less frequent and those with a lowproduction phenotype were signifcantly more frequent in the children with T1DM compared to the control participants. respectively. Furthermore, the IL-6 genotype frequency with low level of IL-6 production were signifcantly increased in the T1DM group compared to the control group. Moreover, our data demonstrated no appreciable diferences in circulating serum level or genotype and phenotype of IL- 10 between the patients and controls. During the pandemic, Favipiravir (FVP) and Molnupiravir (MPV) have been widely used for COVID‐19 treatment, leading to their presence in the environment. A green synchronous spectrofluorimetric method was developed to simultaneously detect them in environmental water, human plasma, and binary mixtures. Maximum fluorescence intensity was achieved at pH 8, with MPV exhibiting two peaks at 300 and 430 nm, and FVP showing one peak at 430 nm. A fluorescence subtraction method effectively removed interference, enabling direct determination of MPV at 300 nm and FVP at 430 nm. The method showed linearity within 2–13 ng/mL for FVP and 50–600 ng/mL for MPV, with recoveries of 100.35% and 100.12%, respectively. Limits of detection and quantification were 0.19 and 0.57 ng/mL for FVP and 10.52 and 31.88 ng/mL for MPV. Validation according to ICH and FDA guidelines yielded acceptable results. The method demonstrated good recoveries of FVP and MPV in pharmaceuticals, tap water and Nile water (99.62% ± 0.96% and 99.69% ± 0.64%) as per ICH guidelines and spiked human plasma (94.87% ± 2.111% and 94.79% ± 1.605%) following FDA guidelines, respectively. This study aims to employ the extended direct algebraic method (EDAM) to generate and evaluate soliton solutions to the nonlinear, space-time conformable Estevez Mansfield-Clarkson equation (CEMCE), which is utilized to simulate shallow water waves. The proposed method entails transforming nonlinear fractional partial differential equations (NFPDEs) into nonlinear ordinary differential equations (NODEs) under the assumption of a finite series solution by utilizing Riccati ordinary differential equations. Various mathematical structures/solutions for the current model are derived in the form of rational, exponential, trigonometric, and hyperbolic functions. The wide range of obtained solutions allows for a thorough analysis of their actual wave characteristics. The 3D and 2D graphs are used to illustrate that these behaviors consistently manifest as periodic, dark, and bright kink solitons. Notably, the produced soliton solutions offer new and critical insights into the intricate behaviors of the CEMCE by illuminating the basic mechanics of the wave's interaction and propagation. By analyzing these solutions, academics can better understand the model's behavior in various settings. Purpose of Review: As society continues to advance in technology, it is important to address how this advancement can impact and enhance patient care. The purpose of this review is to identify patient-centered technology currently available for adult and pediatric patients with and those having survived hematologic malignancies. Given that patients with hematologic malignancies often have to adhere to strenuous medication regimens, coordinate care with many different providers, manage symptoms associated with treatment, and manage late effects associated with survivorship, they would benefit greatly from patient-centered technology aimed at decreasing these burdens. Recent Findings: This review found various available digital interventions for this patient population and focuses on an overview of commercially available smartphone applications, patient portals, and technology for remote monitoring. Summary: In summary, many digital interventions exist for use in the medical care of oncology patients. The incorporation of these interventions can allow for more personalized medical care, better organization of treatment plans by caregivers at home, and easy delivery of accurate medical information. (1) Background: The electroencephalogram (EEG) is frequently corrupted by ocular artifacts such as saccades and blinks. Methods for correcting these artifacts include independent component analysis (ICA) and recursive-least-squares (RLS) adaptive filtering (-AF). Here, we introduce a new method, AFFiNE, that applies Bayesian adaptive regression spline (BARS) fitting to the adaptive filter's reference noise input to address the known limitations of both ICA and RLS-AF, and then compare the performance of all three methods. (2) Methods: Artifact-corrected P300 morphologies, topographies, and measurements were compared between the three methods, and to known truth conditions, where possible, using real and simulated blink-corrupted event-related potential (ERP) datasets. (3) Results: In both simulated and real datasets, AFFiNE was successful at removing the blink artifact while preserving the underlying P300 signal in all situations where RLS-AF failed. Compared to ICA, AFFiNE resulted in either a practically or an observably comparable error. (4) Conclusions: AFFiNE is an ocular artifact correction technique that is implementable in online analyses; it can adapt to being non-stationarity and is independent of channel density and recording duration. Muscle force is modulated by sequential recruitment and firing rates of motor units (MUs). However, discrepancies exist in the literature regarding the relationship between MU firing rates and their recruitment, presenting two contrasting firing-recruitment schemes. The first firing scheme, known as "onion skin," exhibits low-threshold MUs firing faster than high-threshold MUs, forming separate layers akin to an onion. This contradicts the other firing scheme, known as "reverse onion skin" or "afterhyperpolarization (AHP)," with low-threshold MUs firing slower than high-threshold MUs. To study this apparent dichotomy, we used a high-fidelity computational model that prioritizes physiological fidelity and heterogeneity, allowing versatility in the recruitment of different motoneuron types. Our simulations indicate that these two schemes are not mutually exclusive but rather coexist. The likelihood of observing each scheme depends on factors such as the motoneuron pool activation level, synaptic input activation rates, and MU type. The onion skin scheme does not universally govern the encoding rates of MUs but tends to emerge in unsaturated motoneurons (cells firing < their fusion frequency that generates peak force), whereas the AHP scheme prevails in saturated MUs (cells firing at their fusion frequency), which is highly probable for slow (S)-type MUs. When unsaturated, fast fatigable (FF)-type MUs always show the onion skin scheme, whereas S-type MUs do not show either one. Fast fatigue-resistant (FR)-type MUs are generally similar but show weaker onion skin behaviors than FF-type MUs. Our results offer an explanation for the longstanding dichotomy regarding MU firing patterns, shedding light on the factors influencing the firing-recruitment schemes. The goal of the current study was to determine how the products QZ Toss and Biocure may affect the Nile tilapia's (Oreochromis niloticus) growth, and health feature. Six of the seven fish groups that received the QZ Toss for 35 days either on feed or in water were kept on a control diet. Growth and histopathological intestinal assessment significantly increased with the addition of oregano and/or probiotic mixture. Regardless of the amount of biocure and / or QZ TOSS utilized, the histological analysis showed that the groups treated with them both had better intestinal epithelial state than the other groups. Additionally, the length of the intestinal villi increased. Therefore, as an effective way to accomplish practical and sustainable fish production, we may advise adding Biocure to aqua-feed in addition to applying QZ Toss to feed and rearing water. Objectives: The author discusses current otolaryngological procedures employing the palatopharyngeus muscle, based on the surgical anatomy of the muscle and its neural supply. These techniques should be deeply revised for more conservative, anatomically-based maneuvers. Methods: Revision of anatomical and surgical research and comments with the provision of a primary concept. Results: The palatopharyngeus muscle is innervated by the pharyngeal plexus (the vagus and the accessory nerves) with additional fibers from the lesser palatine nerves. The innervation enters the muscle mainly through its lateral border. Conclusions: The palatopharyngeus muscle has a fundamental role in swallowing and speech. The muscle helps other dilators to maintain upper airway patency. Sphincter pharyngoplasty should be revised as regards its role as a sphincter. Palatopharyngeal procedures for OSA employing the palatopharyngeus muscle should follow the conservative, anatomically-based, and non-neural ablation concept. Level of evidence: 4. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) stands as the most prevalent form of primary liver cancer, predominantly affecting patients with chronic liver diseases such as hepatitis B or C-induced cirrhosis. Diagnosis typically involves blood tests (assessing liver functions and HCC biomarkers), imaging procedures such as Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and liver biopsies requiring the removal of liver tissue for laboratory analysis. However, these diagnostic methods either entail lengthy lab processes, require expensive imaging equipment, or involve invasive techniques like liver biopsies. Hence, there exists a crucial need for rapid, cost-effective, and noninvasive techniques to characterize HCC, whether in serum or tissue samples. In this study, we developed a spiral sensor implemented on a printed circuit board (PCB) technology that utilizes impedance spectroscopy and applied it to 24 tissues and sera samples as proof of concept. This newly devised circuit has successfully characterized HCC and normal tissue and serum samples. Utilizing the distinct dielectric properties between HCC cells and serum samples versus the normal samples across a specific frequency range, the differentiation between normal and HCC samples is achieved. Moreover, the sensor effectively characterizes two HCC grades and distinguishes cirrhotic/non-cirrhotic samples from tissue specimens. In addition, the sensor distinguishes cirrhotic/non-cirrhotic samples from serum specimens. This pioneering study introduces Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) spiral sensor for diagnosing HCC and liver cirrhosis in clinical serum—an innovative, low-cost, rapid (< 2 min), and precise PCB-based technology without elaborate sample preparation, offering a novel non-labeled screening approach for disease staging and liver conditions. Shared mobility services furnish convenient transportation alternatives for individuals without vehicle ownership or a preference against driving. Shared mobility could benefit developing countries by providing a cost-effective alternative, enhancing accessibility, reducing congestion, and creating multiple job opportunities. In this study, a comprehensive analysis to assess shared mobility options as an avenue to sustainable transportation in Amman, Jordan, is presented. The study employs a multifaceted methodology, including a survey questionnaire, preliminary analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and Structural Equation Model (SEM). The data were collected from a diverse group of Amman residents using a survey composed of 29 questions. The survey included demographic information, travel behavior, willingness to adopt shared mobility, perceived benefits, and possible barriers. These data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), providing an in-depth understanding of the interrelationships among the variables studied. This study concludes by contributing to the ongoing discussion on sustainable urban transportation in Jordan and providing a road map for policymakers, urban planners, and transportation service providers. The presented findings provide an empirical basis for guiding future strategies and interventions toward sustainable urban development in Amman and potentially other urban contexts with comparable characteristics. Key findings reveal a significant potential for shared mobility to enhance urban transportation sustainability. Specifically, a notable positive perception among Amman residents was observed, with an average willingness to switch to shared mobility for daily commuting scoring 4.68 on a 7-point Likert scale. Moreover, a statistical analysis indicates that factors such as reduced costs, improved service reliability, and better environmental sustainability, notably influence the adoption of shared mobility services. Veterinary drug residues in food have emerged as an urgent threat to consumer safety. Herein, we present the first square wave voltammetric method for the trace-level detection of cinnarizine residues, a recently used antischistosomal drug, in bovine food samples. The method depends on the electrochemical oxidation after modification of the carbon paste sensor with recycled Al2O3-NPs functionalized multi-walled carbon nanoparticles. The produced sensor (Al2O3-NPs/ MWCNTs/CPE) was characterized using the transmission electron microscope, scanning electron microscope, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, energy-dispersive spectrometer, and X-ray diffractometer that confirm the successful incorporation of the Al2O3-NPs/MWCNTs composite into the modified electrode. As expected, the active surface area and electron transfer processes were accelerated by the modification, which was evidenced by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometric studies, scan rate studies, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Compared to previous techniques, this facile sensor demonstrated enhancements across critical analytical criteria including the detection limit of 0.17 nM, linear response across 5–100 nM (r2 = 0.998), accuracy ranging from 96.5 to 103.2%, precision below 0.81% relative standard deviation, reproducibility within 0.36% range, 20 s response time and applicability in spiked food matrices. In addition, five different greenness and whiteness tools quantified exceptional environmental friendliness, economic feasibility and waste reduction of 63%–93%, reaffirming alignment with sustainability paradigms. These advantages support practical adoption in quality control especially laboratories lacking expensive instrumentation. Overall, the ingenious sensor reconciles nanotechnology innovation with the circular economy ethos to tackle an urgent food safety challenge, guided holistically by sustainability metrics. Cytochrome P450 1B1 (CYP1B1) has been widely associated with the development of cardiac pathologies due to its ability to produce cardiotoxic metabolites like midchain hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acids (HETEs) from arachidonic acid (AA) through an allylic oxidation reaction. 16-HETE is a subterminal HETE that is also produced by CYP-mediated AA metabolism. 19-HETE is another subterminal HETE that was found to inhibit CYP1B1 activity, lower midchain HETEs, and have cardioprotective effects. However, the effect of 16-HETE enantiomers on CYP1B1 has not yet been investigated. We hypothesized that 16(R/S)-HETE could alter the activity of CYP1B1 and other CYP enzymes. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate the modulatory effect of 16-HETE enantiomers on CYP1B1 enzyme activity, and to examine the mechanisms by which they exert these modulatory effects. To investigate whether these effects are specific to CYP1B1, we also investigated 16-HETE modulatory effects on CYP1A2. Our results showed that 16-HETE enantiomers significantly increased CYP1B1 activity in RL-14 cells, recombinant human CYP1B1, and human liver microsomes, as seen by the significant increase in 7-ethoxyresorufin deethylation rate. On the contrary, 16-HETE enantiomers significantly inhibited CYP1A2 catalytic activity mediated by the recombinant human CYP1A2 and human liver microsomes. 16R-HETE showed stronger effects than 16S-HETE. The sigmoidal binding mode of the enzyme kinetics data demonstrated that CYP1B1 activation and CYP1A2 inhibition occurred through allosteric regulation. In this work, the Extended Direct Algebraic Method (EDAM) is utilized to analyze and solve the fractional (2+1)-dimensional Conformable Broer-Kaup-Kupershmit System (CBKKS) and investigate different types of traveling wave solutions and study the soliton like-solutions. Using the suggested method, the fractional nonlinear partial differential equation (FNPDE) is primarily reduced to an integer-order nonlinear ordinary differential equation (NODE) under the traveling wave transformation, yielding an algebraic system of nonlinear equations. The ensuing algebraic systems are then solved to construct some families of soliton-like solutions and many other physical solutions. Some derived solutions are numerically analyzed using suitable values for the related parameters. The discovered soliton solutions grasp vital importance in fluid mechanics as they offer significant insight into the nonlinear behavior of the targeted model, opening the way for a deeper comprehension of complex physical phenomena and offering valuable applications in the associated areas. Oral dispersible films have received broad interest due to fast drug absorption and no first-path metabolism, leading to high bioavailability and better patient compliance. Saxagliptin (SXG) is an antidiabetic drug that undergoes first-path metabolism, resulting in a less active metabolite, so the development of SXG oral dispersible films (SXG-ODFs) improves SXG bioavailability. The formula optimisation included a response surface experimental design and the impact of three formulation factors, the type and concentration of polymer and plasticiser concentration on in-vitro disintegration time and folding endurance. Two optimised SXG-ODFs prepared using either polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or hydroxypropyl methylcellulose were investigated. SXG-ODFs prepared with PVA demonstrated a superior rapid disintegration time, ranging from 17 to 890 s, with the fastest disintegration time recorded at 17 s. These short durations can be attributed to the hydrophilic nature of PVA, facilitating rapid hydration and disintegration upon contact with saliva. Additionally, PVA-based films displayed remarkable folding endurance, surpassing 200 folds without rupture, indicating flexibility and stability. The high tensile strength of PVA-based films further underscores their robust mechanical properties, with tensile strength values reaching up to 4.53 MPa. SXG exhibits a UV absorption wavelength of around 212 nm, posing challenges for traditional quantitative spectrophotometric analysis, so a polyaniline nanoparticles-based solid-contact screen-printed ion-selective electrode (SP-ISE) was employed for the determination of SXG release profile effectively in comparison to HPLC. SP-ISE showed a better real-time release profile of SXG-ODFs, and the optimised formula showed lower blood glucose levels than commercial tablets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a condition in which intracranial pressure (ICP) increases without an apparent cause. Typically, patients present with headaches, dizziness, pulsatile tinnitus, visual disturbances, blurred vision, diplopia, photophobia, visual field defects, and papilledema on fundoscopy. The association between IIH, spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea, and arachnoid cysts has been discussed in the literature; however, there is no clear explanation for this association. We aimed to present a series of four patients with a confirmed diagnosis of IIH with atypical presentations, discuss the management of each case, and provide an explanation for this association to alert clinicians to the atypical presentation of IIH and facilitate early diagnosis and proper treatment of this condition by CSF diversion. This was a retrospective case series of all patients who were diagnosed with IIH and showed improvement after ventriculoperitoneal shunt insertion after failure of at least one operative intervention resulting from primary radiological and clinical findings in 2001 to 2022. Data on demographics, clinical presentation, radiological findings, surgical management, and diagnostic criteria for IIH were recorded. We identified four patients with a confirmed diagnosis of IIH who presented with atypical presentations as follows: intracranial arachnoid cyst, cervical spine arachnoid cyst, giant Virchow perivascular space, and spontaneous CSF (CSF) rhinorrhea. All patients responded to CSF diversion after failure of surgical treatment targeting the primary pathology. IIH should be suspected after the failure of primary surgical treatment in cases of spontaneous CSF rhinorrhea, spinal and cranial arachnoid cysts, and symptomatic ventriculoperitoneal shunt.
