Cloud computing provides computing resources on demand of users without their direct management. In this cloud paradigm, scheduling the tasks and allocating the resources become major aspect for cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS). There are more existing algorithms and techniques suggested for task allocation problem. Still there is challenging research on efficient scheduling. To address this issue, many researches are in progress and all of them having their own drawbacks. In this paper, we are proposing a queue-based scheduling strategy with load balancing called as IQSLB and an extended IQSLB also proposed for dealing with critical situations. The proposed strategy calculates the placement value of the tasks in queue with the current status of the virtual machine (VM) in cluster and reshuffles the task accordingly. The extended IQSLB deals with handling deadlock situation where VM cannot adopt task for execution and task will be reshuffled with another task in another queue. The proposed strategy is compared with few existing systems, and the performance evaluation proves that IQSLB schedules tasks more efficiently than other systems. Our proposed IQSLB takes 75 s to allocate 1000 tasks by using 55 virtual machines which is much lesser than existing techniques. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article suggests an open-ended coplanar waveguide band-pass filter using stepped-impedance resonators (SIR) and complementary split-ring resonators (CSRR) that operates at a wider bandwidth with higher band selectivity at 4G—LTE applications. The filter described here is collimated to work in the frequency range of 2.23–4.2 GHz. SIR is used to provide improved selectivity at 2.6 GHz and 3.5 GHz with a return loss of − 30 dB and an insertion loss of − 0.2 dB. Similarly, including CSRR in the design aided in attaining broader bandwidth by ensuring a low ripple value across the bandwidth. The fractional bandwidth of 61.3 percent and a 2 GHz broad band coverage is accomplished with a small footprint of (16 × 16 × 0.8) mm3. The decreased dimensions of the filter result in a group delay of 0.5 ns for maximum filter performance. By loading CSRR into the structure, it established double negative property in the simulated frequency range of interest. A vector network analyzer is used to evaluate system characteristics such as operational bandwidth, return loss, and insertion loss (VNA). Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is an infra-structure less multi-hop network where the mobile nodes are moved randomly. An interference and collision is a significant problem to be solved in MANET. Handling both interference and collision on route path remained open issues which increases the energy usage and reduces the throughput of MANET. In order to overcome such limitations, Statistical Markov Model Based Natural Inspired Glowworm Multi-objective Optimization (SMM-NIGMO) technique is proposed. The SMM-NIGMO technique at first proposes a Statistical Markov Model to determine the interference level of each mobile node in MANET at the time" and reduces the interference level. After that, SMM-NIGMO Technique designs a Natural Inspired Glowworm Swarm Multi-Objective Optimization (NIGSMO) algorithm to carry out the optimal node selection process in MANET. Then, Request-To-Send (RTS) and Clear-To-Send (CTS) mechanism are used in SMM-NIGMO technique for selecting route path and minimizing the collision during the data transmission. With the reduction of interference and collision on the route path, SMM-NIGMO technique enhances the throughput and also lessens the energy as compared to existing works. The performance of the proposed technique validated using following parameters such as energy consumption, throughput, End-to-End delay, Packet delivery ratio and Packet loss rate. The simulation result depicts that the SMM-NIGMO Technique is able to improve the throughput and also reduces the energy consumption, End-to-End delay of data transmission in MANET as compared to state-of-the-art works.
