This article from the editors of the "Academy of Management Review" states that a rejection of a theory-only paper doesn't imply that the effort was in vain, as the content can be repurposed into other publication formats including literature reviews, structured theory articles, inductive and abductive studies, or deductive and hypothesis-testing research. These alternative formats address common challenges faced by theory paper authors, potentially increasing the impact and preserving core ideas of the original work. Authors are encouraged to utilize developmental feedback and resources to improve their manuscripts and explore different formats to advance their theoretical contributions, whether their initial submissions are successful or not.

The mid-and later nineteenth century saw the creation and enrichment of some major international museum collections alongside the development of connoisseurship. In this process, Milan was an important hub for the supply of major works of art. This essay offers new insights into Milan's art market of the period through the methodical examination of export documents; analysis of the unpublished manuscripts of two great exponents of international connoisseurship of this period, Giovanni Battista Cavalcaselle and Joseph Archer Crowe; and new sources from the archives of the National Gallery in London. A number of case-studies are presented in chronological order, focusing on examples of works of art imported from Milan by the National Gallery, the Musée du Louvre in Paris, the Royal Museums in Berlin and the Imperial Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg. Background: Serious adverse events (SAEs) are common in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Reporting of SAEs in randomised clinical trials (RCTs) varies why underreporting is likely. We aim to describe the reporting of SAEs from 2020 onwards and to illustrate the recent reporting of SAEs published in major medical journals. Methods: We will conduct a methodological study assessing pharmacological interventions in RCTs including adult ICU patients. We will search 10 general medical and critical care journals in PubMed. We will include all RCTs published from 2020 onwards. The primary research question is how many RCTs report SAEs in the primary publication. Secondary research questions include how SAEs are reported in the primary publication either as (1) proportion of patients experiencing one or more SAE, (2) all single events occurred, or (3) both strategies combined. We will assess the association between the proportion of patients with reported SAEs and the following trial characteristics: multicentred versus single‐centre RCTs, industry‐sponsored versus academic‐sponsored, published trial protocol versus unpublished work, blinding, trials sample size, and RCTs focusing on COVID‐19 patients versus other populations. Background: Nepal established the health partner coordination for COVID-19 response based on national and international plans and framework to support information-sharing for decision- making and course correction. This paper aims to assess the performance of COVID-19 Health Partner Coordination response in Nepal by adopting coordination best practices and tools from the international humanitarian cluster system. Methods: Secondary data from unpublished documents on health partner coordination for COVID-19 response in Nepal was collected and analysed from April 2023 to May 2023. The secondary data were from the review of the health partner coordination meetings conducted for COVID-19 response using a researcher-developed document review tool, responses of health partners on a survey tool adapted from the cluster coordination performance monitoring tool from the Global Health Cluster, and transcript of Focused Group Discussion among health partners. Descriptive analysis of quantitative information and thematic analysis with predefined themes of qualitative information were performed using MS Excel and MS Word respectively. A written approval from the Ministry of Health and Population and an ethical clearance from the Nepal Health Research Council was obtained before conducting the study. Results: More than three-fifths of the meetings showed good results in conduction, process, participation, and documentation of meeting action points with improvement required for follow-up (22.2%). Assessment of health partner coordination subfunctions resulted in either 'good' (>75.0%) or 'satisfactory' (50.1%-75.0%) except for prioritization based on analyses, which was 'unsatisfactory' (<50%). Partners admired good practices of health partner coordination, pointed out some issues, and provided recommendations. Conclusion: COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of effective coordination of health sector for response to a pandemic. Continuation of this practice after addressing the areas for improvement will contribute to health preparedness and readiness for future disasters or public health emergencies. We consider the theories, where \mathsf {CH} stands for the Continuum Hypothesis, \begin{gather*} \mathsf {ZFC} + \mathsf {CH} + \text {"There is an \omega _1-dense ideal on \omega _1.''}\\ \mathsf {ZF}+{\mathsf {AD}}_{\mathbb {R}} + \text {"\Theta is a regular cardinal.''}\end{gather*} The main result of this paper is that the first theory given above implies the existence of a class model of the second theory given above. Woodin, in unpublished work, showed that the consistency of the second equation given above implies the consistency of the first equation given above. We will also give a proof of this result, which, together with our main theorem, establish the equiconsistency of both the equations given above. As a consequence, this resolves part of question 12 of W. Hugh Woodin [ The axiom of determinacy, forcing axioms, and the nonstationary ideal , Walter de Gruyter & Co., Berlin, 1999], in particular, it shows that the theories (b) and (c) in question 12 of W. Hugh Woodin [ The axiom of determinacy, forcing axioms, and the nonstationary ideal , Walter de Gruyter & Co., Berlin, 1999] are equiconsistent. Thus, our work completes the work that was started by Woodin and Ketchersid in [ Toward AD(\mathbb {R}) from the continuum hypothesis and an \omega _1-dense ideal , ProQuest LLC, Ann Arbor, MI, 2000] some 25 years ago. We also establish other theorems of similar nature in this paper, showing the equiconsistency of the second equation given above and the statement that the non-stationary ideal on {\wp }_{\omega _1}(\mathbb {R}) is strong and pseudo-homogeneous. Taraba State, located in the north-eastern part of Nigeria harbours some of the hyper endemic onchocerciasis sites in the country. The distribution of simuliids larvae along the river contiguous with these sites has been documented but unpublished. Larval sampling was conducted along the tributaries adjoining the hyper-endemic focus in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State, between December 2006 and January 2007. This study therefore presents the distribution of simuliid species and physico-chemical parameters of the breeding sites along the tributaries of the endemic foci in Gashaka LGA of Taraba State. The physico-chemical parameters of breeding sites were measured using standardized equipment, and larvae of various Simulium species were collected, fixed in Carnoy's solution and subsequently identified in the laboratory. Eleven tributaries were examined, with only 3(25.0%) serving as breeding sites during the collection period. A total of 552 simuliids larvae were identified; Simulium damnosum, 490 (86.96%); S. medusaeforme hargreavesi, 51(9.24%); S. colas belcouri, 11(1.99%); S. vorax, 7(1.27%) and S. bovis, 3(0.54%). S. damnosum were the most predominant, collected from all breeding sites, with 95.95% (284/296) in Ngam Ngam, 100% (90/90) in Kam, and 63.86% (106/166) in Mayo Selbe. The physico-chemical parameters of the tributaries range from 6.6-6.9 for pH, 45-82µs/cm for conductivity, 140-157m/s for water velocity, 20-22oC for temperature, 146-246m for river width, 185-455m for altitude and clear turbidity across the sampling sites. Larvae of S. damnosum, S. medusaeforme, S. colas, S. vorax, and S. bovis had strong positive correlations (r2 = 0.5-1.0) with pH and altitude parameters of breeding sites. This study provides baseline data on the identity and abundance of simuliid larvae, which are useful for comparative assessments with recent entomological surveys across breeding sites in the focus. In this review, the author assesses Denis Brylov's monograph, The Unknown Islam in the Territories of Ukraine: The History of Islam in Ukraine from the Late 19th to the Early 21st Century (2023). This work investigates the development of Muslim communities and institutions in modern Ukraine, distinguishing itself from previous studies by tracing the continuity of these communities across centuries using a wide range of primary sources, including unpublished materials. The review highlights Brylov's comprehensive knowledge of Ukrainian Islamic studies and his clear theoretical framework, addressing several key debates, such as the distinction between "high" and "low" Islam. While the book primarily focuses on the 19th to 21st centuries, it also provides valuable historical context by discussing Islam's presence before this period. The author critiques the notion of the absence of Muslim communities during the Soviet era, demonstrating their existence and registration through archival evidence. Additionally, the review notes the descriptive approach used in discussing contemporary Islamic institutions, contrasting it with analytical insights into transnational Islamic movements. Poverty and gross unemployment among most Nigerian youths have necessitated this paper which shows how art is used as an entrepreneurial tool in contemporary Nigerian society. It borrows insight from the context of artistic practices in pre-colonial African societies, to alleviate the prevailing poverty and joblessness among the youths today. Focusing on the utilitarian sculptures of Ugorji Ndukzve Godswill, a young informally trained wood sculptor based in Nsukka, southeastern Nigeria, I describe the history, materials, techniques, forms, and styles associated with his studio production of side stools, minor stands, reclining chair (Oche Ndabe), wine bars, dining table/chairs, coffee tables, and television stands using processed and unprocessed timber. Of interest is also how the visual poetry held by some species of naturally configured curvilinear wood has become the central focus of Ugorji's utilitarian artworks. Based on a critical and qualitative analysis of data gathered from field situations, participant observation, interviews, and published and unpublished literary materials on the subject matter. I argue that Ugorji's studio practice shows how a return to pre-colonial African art practices and processes can be reconfigured into a veritable entrepreneurial channel for our creative youth today. Many of the Jews who were expelled from Iberia in the fifteenth century settled in North Africa. More than 400 years later, Moroccan Sephardic Jews in Fes would engage with Spain again. In this article, I present an unpublished document of historical interest: a letter written in Judeo-Arabic in 1905 by the Jewish community of Fes and addressed to the Spanish king, Alfonso XIII, asking for financial support to build a Spanish school in the mellāḥ of the city. Sephardic Jews in the region had preserved Spanish traditions, claimed to be part of that culture, and, perhaps more importantly, demanded to be protected by it. I take this letter, whose edition, translation, and images are included, as a vantage point for exploring the linguistic, social, and political situation of Sephardic Jews in Fes at the turn of the last century. Although the iconicity of reduplication has been addressed by many researchers, not enough attention has been paid to the distinct character of modified reduplication in opposition to full reduplication. Modified reduplication is here defined as the juxtaposition of two similar but not identical phonological forms which differ in vowel quality (e.g. English chit-chat, Lhasa Tibetan zam zom 'careless work', Tshangla napanopo 'silly') or in initial consonant (e.g. English hotchpotch, Lhasa Tibetan 'a la ma la 'confused, unconnected, irregular'). This paper describes the uses of modified reduplication in five languages spoken in the Himalayas: Central Tibetan (bod), Denjongke (sip, Tibetic), Lhomi (lhm, Tibetic), Tshangla (tsj, Sino-Tibetan, Bodish) and Duhumbi (cvg, Kho-Bwa). The data, which come both from published sources (Bodt 2020, Naga & Rigzin 1994, Yliniemi 2021, Nitartha online dictionary of Tibetan) and heretofore unpublished material, show that modified reduplication in the aforementioned languages is associated with four types of iconicity: (1) duality/plurality of similar but not identical sounds (e.g. Denjongke tʽaŋtʽiŋ 'cling clang'), (2) duality/plurality of similar but not identical items (e.g. Denjongke dakdok 'occurring as an assortment of small items of various sizes'), (3) duality/plurality of similar but not identical locations (e.g. Tibetan thar thor 'scattered'), also suggesting motion between locations (e.g. Tibetan lang ling 'drifting, swinging'), and (4) nonnormativity arising from the comparison of two similar but non-identical forms (e.g. Tshangla thapathopo 'slow-witted', zhalangzholong 'shapeless; useless [of people]'). Background: This protocol outlines a scoping review with the objective of identifying and exploring planetary health considerations within existing health guidelines and health technology assessments (HTA). The insights gained from this review will serve as a basis for shaping future Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations (GRADE) guidance on planetary health. Methods: We will adhere to the JBI methodology for scoping reviews. We will conduct a comprehensive search and screening of results in all languages across various databases including MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, Global Health, Health Systems Evidence, Greenfile, and Environmental Issues. Additionally, we will supplement this search with resources such as the GIN library, BIGG database, Epistemonikos, GRADE guidelines repository, GRADEpro Guideline Development Tool Database, MAGICapp, NICE website, WHO websites, and a manual exploration of unpublished relevant documents using Google incognito mode. Two independent reviewers will screen and assess the full texts of identified documents according to the eligibility criteria. The following information from each full text will be extracted: document title; first author's name; publication year; language; document type; document as a guideline or HTA; the topic/discipline; document purpose/study objective; developing/sponsoring organization; the country in which the study/guideline/HTA report was conducted; definition of planetary health or related concept provided; types of planetary health experts engaged; study methods; suggested methods to assess planetary health; use of secondary data on planetary health outcomes; description for use of life cycle assessment; description for assessing the quality of life cycle; population/intended audience; interventions; category; applicable planetary health boundaries; consideration of social justice/global equity; phase of intervention in life cycle related to planetary health addressed; the measure of planetary health impact; impact on biodiversity/land use; one health/animal welfare mention; funding; and conflict of interest. Data analysis will involve a combination of descriptive statistics and directed content analysis, with results presented in a narrative format and displayed in tables and graphs. This article presents a unique chapter in the history of Romanian-Dutch relations. During the 19th century, the hinterland at the mouth of the Danube was an important centre for the supply of grain to European warehouses, and from the 1880s onwards, international trading houses became increasingly interested in placing the main commodity of Moldo-Wallachian production structures on the markets of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Due to its entrepreneurial and infrastructural connections with Germany, the port of Rotterdam became a transit and temporary storage point for grain dedicated to the Rhine-Ruhr industrial region. During the extermination process of the Armenians of the Ottoman Empire in the World War I, there were two related, but dynamically different forms of violence at work. The first of these can be termed "top-down" violence, in the form of government policies put into practice by the ruling Union and Progress Party through the decisions of its Central Committee. The other form, "bottom-up" violence, was perpetrated by local forces who took advantage of the possibilities and opportunities created by wartime conditions and central government decisions. The target of both types was the population of Ottoman Christians, and the Armenians, first and foremost. The origins of the "top-down" violence are to be found in the century of "accumulated experience" of the Ottoman regime in dealing with various Christian populations within its European territories and their demands for greater economic, social, and political rights, as well as the Great Power intervention on their behalf. Against this background, the Armenian genocide can be seen as a "preventive measure". Its main purpose was the search for "permanent security", and in this sense the article acts as a case study based on the theses found in Dirk Moses' book The Problems of Genocide. As for the phenomenon of "bottom-up" violence, the article also presents a number of previously unpublished documents that give hints as to the role played by different groups—especially the Kurds in the Armenian genocide. Background: This systematic review aims to compare the prognosis of treatment transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with sorafenib and TACE-alone in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with Barcelona clinic liver cancer-stage C (BCLC-C). Materials and methods: A systematic search was conducted on five electronic databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, Cochrane, Embase, and Scopus. Studies were included if they compared overall survival (OS) of TACE-Sorafenib to TACE-alone in patients with HCC BCLC-C within the 2019–2023 timeframe. We excluded studies consisting of conference abstracts, letters, editorials, guidelines, case reports, animal studies, trial registries, and unpublished work. The selected articles were evaluated from August 2023 to September 2023. The journal's quality was assessed with NOS for a non-randomized controlled trial. Results: This systematic review included four studies following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis (PRISMA). All four studies compared the OS of 401 patients with TACE-sorafenib to TACE-alone. Two studies compared time-to-progression (TTP), one study compared progression-free survival (PFS), and two studies compared disease control rate (DCR). There were various population criteria, TACE techniques used, risk factors, follow-up time, and adverse events. The collected evidence generally suggested that the combination of TACE-sorafenib is superior compared to TACE-alone. Due to a lack of essential data for the included study, a meta-analysis couldn't be performed. Conclusion: The results of this systematic review suggested that TACE-sorafenib combination therapy in patients with HCC BCLC-C improves OS superior compared to TACE-alone, without a notable increase in adverse events. Janina Hosiasson-Lindenbaum is a known figure in philosophy of probability of the 1930s. A previously unpublished manuscript fills in the blanks in the full picture of her work on inductive reasoning by analogy, until now only accessible through a single publication. In this paper, I present Hosiasson's work on analogical reasoning, bringing together her early publications that were never translated from Polish, and the recently discovered unpublished work. I then show how her late work relates to Rudolf Carnap's approach to "analogy by similarity" developed in the 1960s. Hosiasson turns out to be a predecessor of the line of research that models analogical influence as inductive relevance. A translation of Hosiasson's manuscript concludes the paper. This research explores the factors contributing to information sensitivity in debt markets, focusing on the potential influences of uncertainty, economic performance, and journalist-dependent language. Building upon the foundational work of Dang et al. (Ignorance, debt and financial crises. Yale University Unpublished Working Paper, 2018), we analyze the mechanisms underlying the transition from information-insensitive to information-sensitive states—a shift with implications for potential financial crises. Leveraging machine learning techniques and daily data on variables such as default probability, information acquisition, and newspaper articles, we discern specific narrative triggers embedded within the news. Our analysis underscores the pivotal role of economic states and journalist language in inducing information sensitivity—a phenomenon intricately tied to different psychological thinking processes. Unpublished texts come in many forms: rejected submissions, lost manuscripts, unfinished, sometimes fabled, books. Our present moment, in which archival practices have made unpublished material widely accessible and the internet has frayed the binary un/published distinction, offers a perspective from which to view the unpublished within US literary history. Attending to the various circumstances in which writing went unpublished draws out the contingencies and inequities of publication and the transgressive allure of writing that, in one way or another, was not supposed to be read. F. Scott's Fitzgerald's lost short stories gain value from at first being rejected; Claude McKay's novel was lost to the structural racism that thwarted the careers of mid–twentieth-century Black writers; and Eileen Myles' various lost poems and notebooks suggest, perhaps, a casualization of attitudes toward getting work published. An awareness of the unpublished structures and illuminates our engagement with published writing. It is now possible to see the rigid un/published binary in its historical moment.... What can we learn about unpublished literature—and literature as such—by studying rejected literature? Each of the article's four sections connects an archival document or set of documents to a topic in literary history and theory. In the first, a ledger tracking submissions to Charles Scribner's Sons in 1882 leads to a discussion about recovery projects. In the second, a century of Houghton Mifflin reader reports leads to a discussion about evaluation. In the third, a novel submitted to Sylvia Beach at Shakespeare and Company in 1930 leads to a discussion about historical counterfactuals. In the fourth, correspondence from the archives of Amiri Baraka and his agent, Ronald Hobbs, from the 1970s leads to a discussion about taste. Together, these sections introduce a resource and exemplify a method: how attention to small, practical decisions can illuminate large, abstract processes. By attending to editorial debates about poetry, we can understand what artistic value meant to specific people in specific contexts—and thus what it might mean in general. This essay examines two peculiar examples of the unpublished from two eccentric authors: Joe Gould's fragmentary Oral History (probably commenced in the 1910s) and Arthur Inman's Diary (the 17 million words of which run from the 1920s to Inman's death in 1963). Neither of these works can be fully published in any conventional way, and the essay examines the reasons why, looking at the history and myths surrounding Gould's supposedly multimillion-word narrative, the paucity of extant parts of it, and how its nature and nonappearance have been interpreted by Joseph Mitchell and Jill Lepore, amongst others. This contrasts with the all-too-abundant size of the Diary of Inman, a wealthy valetudinarian whose voluminous writings describe in minute detail his prejudices and absurdities, as well as the stories of the many people he paid to be part of his dysfunctional household and to entertain him. This essay considers how rejections and the idea of the unpublished fragment might shape poetic form, how practical decisions might turn into aesthetic ones. Both Hart Crane and Jack Spicer had careers among magazines, the experiments of their writing entwined with ephemeral publishing cultures and communities. This essay explores how, through their own distinct experiments with splintered forms of the long poem, magazine rejections also created opportunities in Crane's and Spicer's poetry. Background: The transition from childhood to adolescence is associated with an increase in rates of some psychiatric disorders, including major depressive disorder, a debilitating mood disorder. The aim of this systematic review is to update the evidence on the benefits and harms of screening for depression in primary care and non-mental health clinic settings among children and adolescents. Methods: This review is an update of a previous systematic review, for which the last search was conducted in 2017. We searched Ovid MEDLINE® ALL, Embase Classic+Embase, PsycINFO, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and CINAHL on November 4, 2019, and updated on February 19, 2021. If no randomized controlled trials were found, we planned to conduct an additional search for non-randomized trials with a comparator group. For non-randomized trials, we applied a non-randomized controlled trial filter and searched the same databases except for Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials from January 2015 to February 2021. We also conducted a targeted search of the gray literature for unpublished documents. Title and abstract, and full-text screening were completed independently by pairs of reviewers. Results: In this review update, we were unable to find any randomized controlled studies that satisfied our eligibility criteria and evaluated the potential benefits and harms of screening for depression in children and adolescents. Additionally, a search for non-randomized trials yielded no studies that met the inclusion criteria. Conclusions: The findings of this review indicate a lack of available evidence regarding the potential benefits and harms of screening for depression in children and adolescents. This absence of evidence emphasizes the necessity for well-conducted clinical trials to evaluate the effectiveness of depression screening among children and adolescents in primary care and non-mental health clinic settings. The paper focuses on the concept of man in the thought of Pietro Galatino in the light of two unpublished works contained in the manuscript Vat. lat. 5577. The works place the thinker within the lively debates that raged in the Renaissance. The concepts of soul and microcosm are the cornerstones around which the idea of the centrality of man in the cosmos is illustrated. In this work we will reconstruct, through unpublished documents preserved in the historical archive of the Accademia dei Lincei, a part of Giuseppe Schirò's life, precisely the period between 1939 and 1944. In these years he worked as secretary of the Centro di Studi per l'Albania, organ of the Reale Accademia d'Italia, and here he had the important task of coordinating and maintaining contacts with Albanian, Arbëreshë and Italian scholars who dealt with Albanian issues and who, without his contribution, would hardly have been able to build that which until then, and for a long time to follow, was the greatest cultural collaboration between Italy and Albania in all fields of knowledge. Suzanne Davit (Paris, 1897-Barcelona, 1973) is little known and studied, despite the relevancy of her legacy to the Catalan botanical illustration of the early and mid-20th century. Great botanists such as Pius Font i Quer greatly valued her unique way of capturing nature. As a woman and an artist who was passionate about nature and who was also scientifically very curious, her representation of plants was different from the typical work of the time. Her innovations are interpreted as an alternative artistic discourse to the dominant patriarchal dialogue and a manifestation of the female touch. Access to unpublished documents - Davit's correspondence with a friend - has made it possible to reconstruct some of the key aspects of her work, involving the crossroads between the aesthetic exaltation of flowers and a gender perspective. By examining unpublished documents, including Francisco Limiñana’s detailed planning of the pilgrimage, the study highlights the complexity of colonial and post-colonial relationships, blending cooperation and power dynamics. The analysis underscores the intertwining of Spain’s internal policies with its external posture, aiming to bolster national identity and Franco’s legitimacy. The findings challenge oversimplified narratives, offering a nuanced view of Western-Arab-Islamic interactions, essential for understanding contemporary challenges and fostering intercultural dialogue. Significantly, Limiñana's role transitioned from organizing the pilgrimage to becoming Spain’s first ambassador to Saudi Arabia in 1956, illustrating the evolution of Spanish-Arab relations. This essay examines the metamorphic nature of Franz Kafka's writing. I focus in particular on the unpublished manuscripts Kafka left behind, which reveal the structural instability of his texts and the stories they tell. These stories were malleable and adaptive, meaning they changed depending on the writing environment and the materials Kafka used to compose his texts. Max Brod's influential edition of Kafka's manuscripts, however, literally erased Kafka's metamorphic writing style and replaced it with a canonical body of work authorized by "Kafka." This "Kafka," I demonstrate in this essay, is a chimera invented by Brod. Instead of a stable origin or final authority, "Kafka" is better understood, I argue, as shorthand for the long adaptation history, started by Brod himself, of the unpublished metamorphic texts Kafka left behind. In order to illustrate that Kafka's texts are always already a product of their own adaptation history, the essay studies the opening paragraph of The Castle (1926) through the lens of a dozen visual adaptations of this text. The essay is dedicated to a close reading of Olivier Deprez's magnificent adaptation Le Château. D'après Franz Kafka (1999). Overall, I make three interconnected arguments. First, that adaptations are essential to "Kafka," not derivative or secondary in any sense. Second, that visual adaptations in particular echo and expose the metamorphic nature of Kafka's own writings.
