Background: To investigate the effects of Isoorientin on the apoptosis, proliferation, invasion, and migration of human gastric cancer cells (HGC27 cells). Methods: We used network pharmacology to predict the targets of drugs and diseases. The CCK-8 assay was used to determine the effects of Isoorientin on the proliferation of HGC27 cells. Flow cytometry was employed to analyze the effects of Isoorientin on cell apoptosis and cell cycle distribution of HGC27 cells. Scratch test and transwell chamber test were conducted to assess the effects of Isoorientin on invasion and migration, respectively. Additionally, qPCR and western blot were performed to examine the impact of Isoorientin on apoptosis-related genes and protein expression, respectively. Results: The Isoorientin significantly inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of HGC27 cells compared to the control group. Furthermore, Isoorientin induced apoptosis in HGC27 cells by upregulating the relative expression of Bax and caspase-3 while downregulating the relative expression of p-PI3K, p-AKT, and Bcl-2 proteins. Background: Visceral fat accumulation and obesity-induced chronic inflammation have been proposed as early markers for multiple disease states, especially in women. Nevertheless, the potential impact of fat distribution on α1-acid glycoprotein(AGP), a marker of inflammation, remains unclear. This research was conducted to investigate the relationships among obesity, fat distribution, and AGP levels. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was performed using blood samples from adult females recruited through the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2015 to 2018. Serum levels of AGP were measured using the Tina-quant α-1-Acid Glycoprotein Gen.2 assay. Based on the fat distribution data obtained from dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry assessments, body mass index (BMI), total percent fat (TPF), android percent fat (APF), gynoid percent fat (GPF), android fat/gynoid fat ratio (AGR), visceral percent fat (VPF), subcutaneous percent fat (SPF), visceral fat/subcutaneous fat ratio (VSR) were used as dependent variables. To investigate the link between fat distribution and AGP, multivariate linear regression analysis was utilized. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis was also performed. Results: The present study included 2,295 participants. After adjusting for covariates, BMI, TPF, APF, GPF, VPF, and SPF were found to be positively correlated with AGP levels (BMI: β = 23.65 95%CI:20.90–26.40; TPF: β = 25.91 95%CI:23.02–28.80; APF: β = 25.21 95%CI:22.49–27.93; GPF: β = 19.65 95%CI:16.96–22.34; VPF: β = 12.49 95%CI:9.08–15.90; SPF: β = 5.69, 95%CI:2.89–8.49; AGR: β = 21.14 95%CI:18.16–24.12; VSR: β = 9.35 95%CI:6.11–12.59, all P < 0.0001). All the above indicators exhibited a positive dose–response relationship with AGP. In terms of fat distribution, both AGR and VSR showed positive associations with AGP (P for trend < 0.0001). In particular, when compared to individuals in tertile 1 of AGR, participants in tertiles 2 and 3 had 13.42 mg/dL (95% CI 10.66–16.18) and 21.14 mg/dL (95% CI 18.16–24.12) higher AGP levels, respectively. Participants in the highest tertile of VSR were more likely to exhibit a 9.35 mg/dL increase in AGP compared to those in the lowest tertile (95% CI 6.11–12.59). Conclusions: Overall, this study revealed a positive dose-dependent relationship between fat proportion/distribution and AGP levels in women. Understanding the distribution, dispersal, and correlation of modern pollen with vegetation in mountainous regions is essential for establishing accurate modern analogs for fossil pollen records. This study, conducted in Leigong Mountain on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau of southwestern China, involved the collection of 35 surface soil samples from diverse vegetation communities along an elevational gradient ranging from 1210 to 1875 meters. The results reveal a close correspondence between modern pollen assemblages and vegetation zones. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) results indicate that pollen assemblages can effectively distinguish between subtropical montane evergreen broad-leaved forest (SEBF) and subtropical montane deciduous broad-leaved forest (SDBF). However, both SEBF and SDBF show significant overlap with subtropical montane evergreen-deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest (SEMF). Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DCA) results clearly distinguish the three vegetation zones, and the first axis of DCA shows a significant positive correlation with elevation (p<0.01, R=0.48). Discriminant Analysis (DA) successfully assigns 94.4% of the modern pollen samples to their respective vegetation zones. Pollen taxa such as Impatiens, Aster-type, and Rosaceae exhibit significant indicative capabilities for the SEBF zone, effectively distinguishing this vegetation zone from others. Pinus and Alnus display overrepresentation in the Leigong Mountain region, while Quercus (D, deciduous-type) and Poaceae exhibit high representation in the SEBF zone. In the SEBF zone, both pollen diversity and richness are the lowest. Our study reveals the complex relationship between the richness and diversity of pollen and vegetation. The diversity and richness of tree and shrub pollen are found to be lower than those of the corresponding plants. The pollen-vegetation relationship elucidated in this study serves as a critical reference for reconstructing ancient environments from fossil pollen retrieved in this region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Superhydrophobic surfaces have broad application prospects in various fields due to their special surface wettability. However, most artificial superhydrophobic surfaces are fabricated on rigid substrates or flexible substrates with low deformability, and their performance is difficult to guarantee when a large deformation occurs, hindering further application. Here, a superhydrophobic ultra‐stretchable (SU) film is fabricated by simple template replication and low surface energy modification method using the mixture of vulcanized natural latex (VNR) and silicone emulsion as raw material. The prepared SU film exhibits excellent elasticity and wettability stability and can maintain good superhydrophobicity even after 500% tensile strain. Moreover, droplets dropped on the SU film are bounced in time without any residue, avoiding the accumulation of droplets on the film. Finally, a magnetoelectric generator composed of a SU film and an electromagnetic system are developed to realize the efficient utilization and conversion of droplet energy via droplet impacting and bouncing behavior. Resistance to chemotherapy has been a major hurdle that limits therapeutic benefits for many types of cancer. Here we systematically identify genetic drivers underlying chemoresistance by performing 30 genome-scale CRISPR knockout screens for seven chemotherapeutic agents in multiple cancer cells. Chemoresistance genes vary between conditions primarily due to distinct genetic background and mechanism of action of drugs, manifesting heterogeneous and multiplexed routes towards chemoresistance. By focusing on oxaliplatin and irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer, we unravel that evolutionarily distinct chemoresistance can share consensus vulnerabilities identified by 26 second-round CRISPR screens with druggable gene library. We further pinpoint PLK4 as a therapeutic target to overcome oxaliplatin resistance in various models via genetic ablation or pharmacological inhibition, highlighting a single-agent strategy to antagonize evolutionarily distinct chemoresistance. Our study not only provides resources and insights into the molecular basis of chemoresistance, but also proposes potential biomarkers and therapeutic strategies against such resistance. Developing seawater‐based high‐performance oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) electrocatalysts is meaningful to renewable energy storage and conversion, and the Fe‐based derivatives encapsulated by nitrogen (N) doped carbon are the typical representative. Nevertheless, unrevealing the mechanism of N configuration to ORR activity and chlorine resistance is still a great challenge. In this work, a feasible strategy is developed to prepare controllable pyridinic/pyrrolic‐N doped carbon‐coated Fe‐based electrocatalysts (FexN‐NC). Drawing support from the H3PO4 blocking based in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) test and density‐functional theory (DFT) calculation, the tandem effect of pyridinic‐N and pyrrolic‐N on ORR is proved. Additionally, the low hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) yield and 4e− pathway of FexN‐NC demonstrate that N doping effectively reduces the adsorption of Cl−, which is consistent with the low Cl− adsorption energy of DFT. The half‐wave potential (E1/2) of FexN‐NC for ORR reaches 0.874 V in alkaline seawater, and ZABs assembled with FexN‐NC as the air cathode deliver a remarkable power density (162 mW cm−2), along with excellent long‐term durability (>400 h). Wheat powdery mildew is an important fungal disease that seriously jeopardizes wheat production, which poses a serious threat to food safety. SJ106 is a high-quality, disease-resistant spring wheat variety; this disease resistance is derived from Wheat-wheatgrass 33. In this study, the powdery mildew resistance genes in SJ106 were located at the end of chromosome 6DS, a new disease resistance locus tentatively named PmSJ106 locus. This interval was composed of a nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat (NLR) gene cluster containing 19 NLR genes. Five NLRs were tandem duplicated genes, and one of them (a coiled coil domain–nucleotide binding site–leucine-rich repeat (CC-NBS-LRR; CNL) type gene, TaRGA5-like) expressed 69–836-fold in SJ106 compared with the susceptible control. The genome DNA and cDNA sequences of TaRGA5-like were amplified from SJ106, which contain several nucleotide polymorphisms in LRR regions compared with susceptible individuals and Chinese Spring. Overexpression of TaRGA5-like significantly increased resistance to powdery mildew in susceptible receptor wheat Jinqiang5. However, Virus induced gene silence (VIGS) of TaRGA5-like resulted in only a small decrease of SJ106 in disease resistance, presumably compensated by other NLR duplicated genes. The results suggested that TaRGA5-like confers partial powdery mildew resistance in SJ106. As a member of the PmSJ106 locus, TaRGA5-like functioned together with other NLR duplicated genes to improve wheat resistance to powdery mildew. Carbon fiber-reinforced composites (CFRCs) have been widely used in automotive, aerospace, sports equipment, and other industrial fields, due to the higher strength-to-weight ratio and modulus compared with metals and alloys. Innovations in additive-manufactured CFRCs have opened up new avenues for designing and manufacturing high-performance, low-cost complex composite structures. According to the structure and substrate type of carbon fiber, this paper firstly reviews the existing feasible technologies as well as their key elements and focuses on the research of additive manufactured CFRCs by fused deposition molding (FDM) and selective laser sintering (SLS). Furthermore, the typical applications and envisions of additive manufactured CFRCs were elaborated. Moreover, the existing challenges and problems are summarized from the aspects of materials, equipment, and software. In the future, more interdisciplinary research is needed on advanced materials, multiple processes, advanced equipment, and structural design, and there will be a broader research space for robot-assisted additive manufacturing and green manufacturing methods. Background: Macrophage activation may play a crucial role in the increased susceptibility of obese individuals to acute lung injury (ALI). Dysregulation of miRNA, which is involved in various inflammatory diseases, is often observed in obesity. This study aimed to investigate the role of miR-192 in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI in obese mice and its mechanism of dysregulation in obesity. Methods: Human lung tissues were obtained from obese patients (BMI ≥ 30.0 kg/m2) and control patients (BMI 18.5–24.9 kg/m2). An obese mouse model was established by feeding a high-fat diet (HFD), followed by intratracheal instillation of LPS to induce ALI. Pulmonary macrophages of obese mice were depleted through intratracheal instillation of clodronate liposomes. The expression of miR-192 was examined in lung tissues, primary alveolar macrophages (AMs), and the mouse alveolar macrophage cell line (MH-S) using RT-qPCR. m6A quantification and RIP assays helped determine the cause of miR-192 dysregulation. miR-192 agomir and antagomir were used to investigate its function in mice and MH-S cells. Bioinformatics and dual-luciferase reporter gene assays were used to explore the downstream targets of miR-192. Results: In obese mice, depletion of macrophages significantly alleviated lung tissue inflammation and injury, regardless of LPS challenge. miR-192 expression in lung tissues and alveolar macrophages was diminished during obesity and further decreased with LPS stimulation. Obesity-induced overexpression of FTO decreased the m6A modification of pri-miR-192, inhibiting the generation of miR-192. In vitro, inhibition of miR-192 enhanced LPS-induced polarization of M1 macrophages and activation of the AKT/ NF-κB inflammatory pathway, while overexpression of miR-192 suppressed these reactions. BIG1 was confirmed as a target gene of miR-192, and its overexpression offset the protective effects of miR-192. In vivo, when miR-192 was overexpressed in obese mice, the activation of pulmonary macrophages and the extent of lung injury were significantly improved upon LPS challenge. Conclusions: Our study indicates that obesity-induced downregulation of miR-192 expression exacerbates LPS-induced ALI by promoting macrophage activation. To achieve this objective, it is critical to design strong electron‐deficient building blocks with simple structure and easy synthesis, which are essential for the development of n‐type polymer semiconductors. Herein, we synthesized two cyano‐functionalized highly electron‐deficient building blocks, namely 3,6‐dibromopyrazine‐2‐carbonitrile (CNPz) and 3,6‐Dibromopyrazine‐2,5‐dicarbonitrile (DCNPz), which feature simple structures and facile synthesis. CNPz and DCNPz can be obtained via only one‐step reaction and three‐step reactions from cheap raw materials, respectively. Based on CNPz and DCNPz, two acceptor–acceptor (A–A) polymers, P(DPP‐CNPz) and P(DPP‐DCNPz) are successfully developed, featuring deep‐positioned lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels, which are beneficial to n‐type organic thin‐film transistors (OTFTs) and OTEs performance. An optimal unipolar electron mobility of 0.85 and 1.85 cm2 V−1 s−1 is obtained for P(DPP‐CNPz) and P(DPP‐DCNPz), respectively. When doped with N‐DMBI, P(DPP‐CNPz) and P(DPP‐DCNPz) show high n‐type electrical conductivities/power factors of 25.3 S cm−1/41.4 μW m−1 K−2, and 33.9 S cm−1/30.4 μW m−1 K−2, respectively. Objective: To prospectively evaluate the prognosis of fetuses diagnosed with micrognathia using prenatal ultrasound screening. Methods: Between January 2019 and December 2022, a normal range of IFA to evaluate the facial profile in fetuses with micrognathia in a Chinese population between 11 and 20 gestational weeks was established, and the pregnancy outcomes of fetal micrognathia were described. The medical records of these pregnancies were collected, including family history, maternal demographics, sonographic findings, genetic testing results, and pregnancy outcomes. Results: Ultrasound identified 25 patients with fetal micrognathia, with a mean IFA value of 43.6°. All cases of isolated fetal micrognathia in the initial scans were non‐isolated in the following scans. A total of 78.9% (15/19) cases had a genetic cause confirmed, including 12 with chromosomal abnormalities and 3 with monogenic disorders. Monogenic disorders were all known causes of micrognathia, including two cases of campomelic dysplasia affected by SOX9 mutations and one case of mandibulofacial dysostosis with an EFTUD2 mutation. In the end, 19 cases were terminated, 1 live birth was diagnosed as Pierre Robin syndrome, and 5 cases were lost to follow‐up. Conclusion: IFA is a useful indicator and three‐dimensional ultrasound is a significant support technique for fetal micrognathia prenatal diagnosis. Repeat ultrasound monitoring and genetic testing are crucial, with CMA recommended and Whole exome sequencing performed when normal arrays are reported. Proper differentiation of corneal epithelial cells (CECs) from limbal stem/progenitor cells (LSCs) is required for maintenance of ocular homeostasis and clear vision. Here, using a single-cell transcriptomic atlas, we delineate the comprehensive and refined molecular regulatory dynamics during human CEC development and differentiation. We find that RORA is a CEC-specific molecular switch that initiates and drives LSCs to differentiate into mature CECs by activating PITX1. RORA dictates CEC differentiation by establishing CEC-specific enhancers and chromatin interactions between CEC gene promoters and distal regulatory elements. Conversely, RORA silences LSC-specific promoters and disrupts promoter-anchored chromatin loops to turn off LSC genes. We challenge the prevailing view that the end‐Permian extinction impeded the Triassic evolution of sponges. Here, we report a deep‐water community dominated by abundant keratose sponges in the lowest Triassic strata from Southwest China. The sponge fossils occur as dark elliptical imprints in mudstone with distinct oscula on their tops. The structure of preserved fibers suggests closest affinity with the extant Dictyoceratida, an aspiculate demosponge. The exceptional preservation plays a crucial role in retaining their exquisite structures. Sedimentary, taphonomic, pyrite framboid, and trace elemental analyses indicate that the sponges proliferated in an oxygen‐poor habitat, demonstrating the high tolerance of sponges to severe conditions. Sponge proliferation is a signal of environmental upheaval but they also stabilized the ecosystem, driving the first phase of biotic recovery after the end‐Permian extinction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The development of an electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in a seawater electrolyte is the key to realizing the utilization of marine resources and application of Zn–air batteries (ZABs). Exploring the adsorption and desorption behavior of oxygen can guide the design of catalysts fundamentally and improve the catalytic performance. On this basis, WC and Co on nitrogen‐doped carbon (WC‐Co@NC) with an interfacial built‐in electric field (BEF) is designed as an ORR catalyst. The theoretical calculation certifies that the BEF of W─C─Co connections promote charge separation and directional migration, thus realizing the oxygen adsorption equilibrium and speeding up the process of ORR. These give WC‐Co@NC a high half‐wave potential of 0.872 V, and the alkaline seawater‐based ZAB with WC‐Co@NC as the air cathode has a peak power density of 188.8 mW cm−2 and excellent stability. This work can provide a basis for the rational design of the cathode of alkaline seawater‐based ZAB, and can also give a new direction for the utilization of seawater resources. Objective: To investigate whether expanded access to Veterans Affairs (VA)‐purchased care increased overall utilization or induced a shift from other payers to VA for emergency care among VA enrollees. Data Sources and Study Setting: This study included all emergency department (ED) encounters in 2019 from hospitals in the state of New York. Study Design: We conducted a difference‐in‐differences analysis comparing VA enrollees to the general population before and after the implementation of the Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks (MISSION) Act in June 2019. Data Collection/Extraction Methods: We included all ED visits with individuals aged 30 or older at the time of the encounter. Individuals were considered eligible for the policy change if they were enrolled with VA at the beginning of 2019. Principal Findings: Of the 5,577,199 ED visits in the sample, 4.9% (n = 253,799) were made by VA enrollees. Of these, 44.9% of visits were paid by Medicare, 32.8% occurred in VA facilities, and 7% were paid by private health insurance. There was a 6.4% (2.91 percentage points; std. error = 0.18; p < 0.01) decrease in the proportion of ED visits paid by Medicare among VA enrollees relative to the general population after the implementation of the MISSION Act in June 2019. This decrease was larger for ED visits with a subsequent inpatient admission (−8.4%; 4.87 percentage points; std. error = 0.33; p < 0.01). There was no statistically significant change in the total volume of ED visits (0.06%; std. error = 0.08; p = 0.45). Conclusions: Leveraging a novel dataset, we demonstrate that MISSION Act implementation coincided with a shift in the financing of non‐VA ED visits from Medicare to VA without any increase in overall ED utilization. SiC ceramic lattice structures (CLSs) via additive manufacturing (AM) have been recognized as potential candidates in engineering fields owing to their various merits. Compared with traditional SiC CLSs, SiC triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) CLSs could possess more outstanding properties, making them more promising for wider applications. Since SiC CLSs are hard to be fabricated through stereolithography techniques because of inferior light performance, the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process via selective sintering is an effective method to prepare near‐net‐shaped SiC TPMS lattices. As the mechanical performances of lattice structures are the foundation for future practical applications, it is of great significance to optimize the preparation process, thus improving the mechanical properties of SiC TPMS structures. In this work, the optimal printing parameters of the LPBF and liquid silicon infiltration process for SiC ceramic TPMS CLSs with three different volume fractions were systematically illustrated and analyzed. The effects of the printing parameters and carbon densities on the fabrication accuracy, microstructure, and mechanical performance of SiC TPMS CLSs were defined. The mechanism of the reactive sintering process for the SiC TPMS lattice structure was revealed. The results reveal that Si/SiC TPMS CLSs with optimum preparation have superior manufacturing accuracy (most less than 6%), relatively high bulk densities (about 2.75 g/cm3), low residual Si content (6.01%), and excellent mechanical properties (5.67, 15.4, and 44.0 MPa for Si/SiC TPMS CLSs with 25%, 40%, and 55% volume fractions, respectively). Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is crucial to metastasis by increasing cancer cell migration and invasion. At the cellular level, EMT-related morphological and functional changes are well established. At the molecular level, critical signaling pathways able to drive EMT have been described. Yet, the translation of EMT into efficient diagnostic methods and anti-metastatic therapies is still missing. This highlights a gap in our understanding of the precise mechanisms governing EMT. Here, we discuss evidence suggesting that overcoming this limitation requires the integration of multiple omics, a hitherto neglected strategy in the EMT field. More specifically, this work summarizes results that were independently obtained through epigenomics/transcriptomics while comprehensively reviewing the achievements of proteomics in cancer research. Additionally, we prospect gains to be obtained by applying spatio-temporal multiomics in the investigation of EMT-driven metastasis. Along with the development of more sensitive technologies, the integration of currently available omics, and a look at dynamic alterations that regulate EMT at the subcellular level will lead to a deeper understanding of this process. Further, considering the significance of EMT to cancer progression, this integrative strategy may enable the development of new and improved biomarkers and therapeutics capable of increasing the survival and quality of life of cancer patients. The aim of this evaluation was to assess caregiver experience and burden during their first year in a geriatric home-based primary care (HBPC) program with qualitative interviews and surveys. HBPC included in-home visits for homebound, older adult patients. Seventeen caregivers, with varied amount of experience with HBPC, participated in semi-structured interviews. Change in caregiver burden from baseline was captured for 44 caregivers at 3 months post-enrollment, 27 caregivers at 6 months, and 22 caregivers at 12 months. Satisfaction survey was administered at these timepoints, but the last response of 48 caregivers was analyzed. Caregiver interviews revealed three themes: caregiving stressors, reliance on HBPC in relation to other medical care, and healthcare in the home. Surveyed caregivers were highly satisfied, but burden did not change substantially over the 1 year intervention. Caregivers appreciated HBPC reduced patient transportation and provided satisfactory primary care, but additional research is needed to tailor this care to reduce caregiver burden. Transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) is a multifunctional cytokine, and its signalling responses are exerted via integrated intracellular pathways and complex regulatory mechanisms. Due to its high potency, TGFβ signalling is tightly controlled under normal circumstances, while its dysregulation in cancer favours metastasis. The recognised potential of TGFβ as a therapeutic target led to emerging development of anti-TGFβ reagents with preclinical success, yet these therapeutics failed to recapitulate their efficacy in experimental settings. In this review, possible reasons for this inconsistency are discussed, addressing the knowledge gap between theoretical and actual behaviours of TGFβ signalling. Previous studies on oncogenic cells have demonstrated the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of TGFβ signalling intensity. Under feedback mechanisms and exosomal ligand recycling, cancer cells may achieve cyclic TGFβ signalling to facilitate dissemination and colonisation. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of epidural analgesia (EA) on maternal and fetal hemodynamics. Methods: A prospective single‐center observational study was conducted from March 2022 to May 2022 on low‐risk singleton pregnancies who received prenatal care at 37–40 weeks and delivered at our hospital. Pre‐ and post‐EA, maternal and fetal hemodynamics, including maternal parameters of mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR) and saturation of pulse oxygen (SPO2), fetal heart rate (FHR), Doppler flow parameters of umbilical artery (UA), middle cerebral artery (MCA), and uterine artery (UtA) during labor were measured before epidural insertion (T0), and 15 (T1), 30 (T2), and 60 (T3) minutes after. Computational analysis was performed using a one‐way ANOVA test. Results: In total, 100 singleton pregnant women were enrolled. After EA, maternal MAP, HR, and SPO2 were significantly lower than baseline values at all times except for HR in T3 and remained lower for the study's duration (P <.05). As for FHR, there was no significant difference between pre‐ and post‐epidural. The mean UtA‐PI (pulsatility index), UA‐PI, UA‐RI (resistance index), and UA‐S/D (systolic/diastolic ratio) were not significantly modified after EA. Nevertheless, MCA‐PI and RI significantly decreased in 15 minutes after initiating EA compared with T0 values (P <.05), and MCA‐PSV (resistance index and peak systolic velocities) was significantly increased compared with T0 at all times (P <.05). The above changes were all within the normal range. Conclusion: Although maternal MAP, HR, and SPO2 significantly decreased after EA, fetal hemodynamics remained relatively stable. Objective: We aim to evaluate the effect of right lateral position on fetal hemodynamics (including umbilical artery [UA] and middle cerebral artery (MCA) blood flow‐velocity waveform). Methods: In total, 150 low‐risk singleton full‐term pregnant women were included in the study from November 2021 to January 2022. Doppler flow velocity waveforms of the fetal UA and MCA tested by ultrasound were collected in gestation of 37–40 weeks. Computational analysis was performed using the one‐way ANOVA test. Results: Compared with the maternal left lateral position, there was a significant increase in Doppler indices of UA‐RI (P =.033), UA‐S/D (P =.019) and MCA‐PSV (P =.021) and a significant decrease in MCA‐RI (P =.030) in the supine position group. There was no statistical significance in all Doppler indices between the left and right lateral position (P >.05). Among the Doppler indices of three different maternal positions, there was no significance in both UA‐PI and MCA‐PI (P >.05). Conclusion: There were no significant differences on changes of the fetal hemodynamics between left and right lateral positions. Pixel Offset Tracking (POT) for optical imagery is a widely used method for extracting large-scale ground deformation. However, the influence of imaging parameters on the measurement accuracy of POT is still unclear. In this study, based on 16 pairs of Sentinel-2 images covering the period before and after the Ms6.9 Menyuan earthquake in 2022, we quantitatively assessed the effects of imaging bands, time intervals between image pairs, and differences in solar zenith angles on the measurement accuracy of optical POT. The results showed that the quality of ground deformation extracted using the near-infrared band was superior to other bands. The accuracy of optical POT measurements exhibited a negative correlation with both the time interval between image pairs and the differences in solar zenith angles. The maximum difference in optical POT measurement accuracy for the near-infrared band between image pairs with different time intervals (5/10/15 days) reached 30.3%, while the maximum difference in deformation measurement accuracy for pairs with different solar zenith angle differences was 30.56%. Utilizing the optimal POT image pair, the accuracy of co-seismic deformation measurement for the Menyuan earthquake improved by 48.3% compared to the worst image pair. Background: Despite mammography-based screening for breast cancer has been conducted in many countries, there are still little data on participation and diagnostic yield in population-based breast cancer screening in China. Methods: We enrolled 151,973 eligible women from four cities in Hebei Province within the period 2013–2021 and followed up until December 31, 2021. Participants aged 40–74 who assessed as high risk were invited to undergo breast ultrasound and mammography examination. Overall and group-specific participation rates were calculated. Multivariable analyses were used to estimate the factors associated with participation rates. The diagnostic yield of both screening and no screening groups was calculated. We further analyzed the stage distribution and molecular subtype of breast cancer cases by different modes of cancer detection. Results: A total of 42,547 participants were evaluated to be high risk of breast cancer. Among them, 23,009 subjects undertook screening services, with participation rate of 54.08%. Multivariable logistic regression model showed that aged 45–64, high education level, postmenopausal, current smoking, alcohol consumption, family history of breast cancer, and benign breast disease were associated with increased participation of screening. After median follow-up of 3.79 years, there were 456 breast cancer diagnoses of which 65 were screen-detected breast cancers (SBCs), 27 were interval breast cancers (IBCs), 68 were no screening cancers, and 296 were cancers detected outside the screening program. Among them, 92 participants in the screening group (0.40%) and 364 in the non-screening group (0.28%) had breast cancer detected, which resulted in an odds ratio of 1.42 (95% CI 1.13–1.78; P = 0.003). We observed a higher detection rate of breast cancer in the screening group, with ORs of 2.42 (95% CI 1.72–3.41) for early stage (stages 0–I) and 2.12 (95% CI 1.26–3.54) for luminal A subtype. SBCs had higher proportion of early stage (71.93%) and luminal A subtype (47.22%) than other groups. Conclusions: The significant differences in breast cancer diagnosis between the screening and non-screening group imply an urgent need for increased breast cancer awareness and early detection in China. Striatin‐interacting phosphatases and kinases (STRIPAKs) are evolutionarily conserved supramolecular complexes that control various important cellular processes such as signal transduction and development. However, the role of the STRIPAK complex in pathogenic fungi remains elusive. In this study, the components and function of the STRIPAK complex were investigated in Fusarium graminearum, an important plant‐pathogenic fungus. The results obtained from bioinformatic analyses and the protein–protein interactome suggested that the fungal STRIPAK complex consisted of six proteins: Ham2, Ham3, Ham4, PP2Aa, Ppg1, and Mob3. Deletion mutations of individual components of the STRIPAK complex were created, and observed to cause a significant reduction in fungal vegetative growth and sexual development, and dramatically attenuae virulence, excluding the essential gene PP2Aa. Further results revealed that the STRIPAK complex interacted with the mitogen‐activated protein kinase Mgv1, a key component in the cell wall integrity pathway, subsequently regulating the phosphorylation level and nuclear accumulation of Mgv1 to control the fungal stress response and virulence. Our results also suggested that the STRIPAK complex was interconnected with the target of rapamycin pathway through Tap42‐PP2A cascade. Taken together, our findings revealed that the STRIPAK complex orchestrates cell wall integrity signalling to govern the fungal development and virulence of F. graminearum and highlighted the importance of the STRIPAK complex in fungal virulence. This study aimed to explore sex differences in the relationship between thyroid function indicators and suicide attempts in first-episode and drug-naïve young major depressive disorder (MDD) patients with comorbid anxiety (MDA). A total of 917 MDD patients (aged 18–35 years) were recruited. The Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD-17), Hamilton anxiety rating scale (HAMA), positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS) positive subscale and clinical global impression of severity scale (CGI-S) were used. 467 patients were classified as MDA. The prevalence of suicide attempts was 31.3% in MDA patients, which was significantly higher than that (7.3%) in MDD patients without anxiety. Compared with MDA patients without suicide attempts, MDA patients with suicide attempts were older, had a later age of onset, higher HAMD-17, HAMA, and PANSS positive symptom subscale scores, as well as higher TSH, TgAb and TPOAb levels. For male patients, TSH and TPOAb levels were independently associated with suicide attempts. For female patients, HAMA, PANSS positive symptom scores, CGI-S score and TPOAb levels were independently associated with suicide attempts. Background: Recent studies have reported that psychotic symptoms are common in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). However, few studies have reported the relationship between thyroid function, lipid metabolism and clinical profiles in female MDD patients. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the prevalence of psychotic depression (PD) and its risk factors in first-episode and drug naive (FEDN) depression among the female population in China. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study involving a representative probability sample of 1,130 FEDN female outpatients with MDD (aged 18 years or older) in China. We collected information relating to socio-demographic characteristics, clinical data and blood samples. The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale 17-item version (HAMD-17), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale 14-item version (HAMA-14), and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) were used to evaluate depressive, anxiety, and psychotic symptoms. Results: The prevalence of psychotic symptoms in female MDD patients was 10.97%. The findings revealed significant differences between MDD female patients with psychotic symptoms and non-PD female patients in the following areas: higher HAMD scores, higher HAMA scores, more severe anxiety and an increased risk of suicide attempts. Further logistic regression analysis showed that psychotic symptoms were associated with higher thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels and an odds ratio of 1.168. Conclusions: Our findings supported the hypothesis that higher TSH levels were correlated with psychotic symptoms in female MDD patients. Therefore, serum TSH levels may be a potential biomarker of PD in female MDD patients. For the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) by carbonylation of methyl nitrite (MN), the lack of efficient and stable catalysts is a crucial factor limiting the application of this technology. It is well known that the physical structure and surface physicochemical properties of a support affect the sintering resistance, catalytic activity and selectivity of a catalyst. Hence, the catalytic performance of the catalyst can be effectively improved by modifying the support. Herein, a series of starch-coated catalysts (Pd–Cu/AC@SX, X = 3, 4, and 5) were prepared and applied for the synthesis of DMC. Among them, the catalyst modified with a concentration of 4 wt% of starch (Pd–Cu/AC@S4) performed the best with a weight time yield of DMC (WTYDMC) of 1450 g kgcat−1 h−1, the DMC selectivity based on CO (SDMC/CO) up to 100%, and the CO conversion to DMC (CCO) of 53.5%, which improved by nearly 40% compared to the original catalyst. The characterization results showed that the increase in Lewis acidity and the content of Cu2+ helped in maintaining the long-term presence of Pd2+, the active center of the reaction, which was a key factor for improving the stability. Besides, the increase in the specific surface area and effective pore volume of the micropores of the support improves the selectivity of the catalyst and the dispersion of the metals (Pd2+ and Cu2+), which is the main reason for the increase in catalytic activity. Eventually, the starch-coated catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic performance. Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is a highly structured risk-prevention management process that improves the reliability and safety of a system. This article investigates one of the most critical issues in FMEA practice: Clustering failure modes based on their risks. In the failure mode clustering problem, all identified failure modes need to be assigned to several predefined and risk-ordered categories to manage their risks. We model the clustering of failure modes through multi-expert multiple criteria decision making with an additive value function, and call it the additive N -clustering problem. We begin by proposing six axioms that describe an ideal clustering method in the additive N -clustering problem, and find that the EXogenous Clustering Method (EXCM), where category thresholds can be exogenously provided, is ideal (Exogenous Possibility Theorem), whereas any endogenous clustering method, where the clustering is determined endogenously in the given method, cannot satisfy all six axioms simultaneously (Endogenous Impossibility Theorem). In practice, endogenous clustering methods are important, due to the difficulty in providing accurate and reasonable category thresholds of the EXCM. Therefore, we propose the Consensus-based ENdogenous Clustering Method (CENCM) and discuss its axiomatic properties. We also apply the CENCM to the SARS-CoV-2 prevention case and justify the CENCM through axiomatic comparisons and a detailed simulation experiment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The low utilization of solar energy due to the narrow response spectra limits the performance of current photocatalysts. Utilizing up-conversion photoluminescence is one of the effective methods to enhance photocatalytic ability. A new photocatalyst, NaYF4: Yb, Tm nanoparticles (NYT) embedded in NH2-MIL-125(Ti) (NYT@NH2-MIL-125(Ti)), was constructed aiming to efficiently degrade pollutant under full-spectrum illumination. The characterization certified that NYT had been successfully embedded in NH2-MIL-125(Ti). The photocatalytic activity of NYT@NH2-MIL-125(Ti) was tested by degrading Rhodamine B (RhB). The NYT@NH2-MIL-125(Ti) showed significantly enhanced photocatalytic activity compared with NH2-MIL-125(Ti), whose degradation kinetic constant of RhB was 3.73 times that of NH2-MIL-125(Ti). The enhanced photocatalytic performance should be attributed to the expanded response light spectra. Under illumination, NYT absorbs near-infrared (NIR) light and emits visible light, which stimulates NH2-MIL-125(Ti) to produce photo-generated electrons–holes. Free radical trapping experiments certified that holes(h+) plays a major role in the photocatalytic process. This work deepens the understanding of construction of high-efficiency photocatalyst with a broad spectrum response and promotes the application of photocatalysis in water pollution control. Background: Disease stage at diagnosis and molecular subtypes are the main determinants of breast cancer treatment strategies and prognosis. We aimed at examining the disparities and factors associated with the stage at diagnosis among the molecular subtypes in breast cancer patients in China. Methods: We identified patients with first primary breast cancer diagnosed between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2017, from 23 hospitals in 12 provinces in China. We analyzed the proportion of non‐early‐stage (stages II–IV) breast cancer cases based on the family history of breast cancer, body mass index (BMI), insurance status, and molecular subtypes. Multivariable analyses were used to estimate the factors associated with non‐early‐stage diagnosis among the molecular subtypes. We further compared these estimates with that in the United States using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. Results: A total of 9398 Chinese were identified with first primary invasive breast cancer. Of the 8767 patients with known stages, the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)‐enriched subtype had the highest proportion of stages II–IV (76.6%) patients, followed by triple‐negative breast cancer (73.2%), luminal B (69.9%), and luminal A (62.3%). The percentage of non‐early‐stage patients was higher in women with overweight or obesity than in those with a body mass index (BMI) <25 kg/m2 (adjusted odds ratio [OR] 1.3, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.1–1.4). Patients with a family history of breast cancer had a higher likelihood of early‐stage (adjusted OR 0.7, 0.5–0.8) breast cancer. Patients with rural insurance had a substantially higher risk of non‐early‐stage disease than those with urban insurance (adjusted OR 1.8, 1.4–2.2). Regarding the subtype, being overweight/obese only increased the risk of non‐early‐stage in luminal A breast cancer. Compared with the United States, China had a higher proportion of non‐early‐stage breast cancer for all subtypes, with the largest gap in luminal A (adjusted OR 2.2, 95% CI 2.0–2.4). Ecological vulnerability is the main index to evaluate areal environmental stability and monitor the development of ecological environment. Longdong area is a typical Loess Plateau area with complex terrain, serious soil erosion, mineral resource development, and other human activities leading to the ecological vulnerability evolution of the area, but the monitoring of its ecological status and the determination of its factors are still lacking. Based on the ecological characteristics of Longdong area, this study constructed an ecological vulnerability system including natural, social, and economic data and used the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) to study the temporal and spatial evolution of ecological vulnerability from 2006 to 2018. A model for quantitative analysis of the evolution of ecological vulnerability and correlation of influencing factors was ultimately developed. The results showed that (1) from 2006 to 2018, the ecological vulnerability index (EVI) had a minimum value of 0.232 and a maximum value of 0.695. EVI was high in the northeast and southwest of Longdong area and low in the central region. (2) At the same time, the areas of potential vulnerability and mild vulnerability increased, and the areas of slight vulnerability, moderate vulnerability, and severe vulnerability decreased. (3) The correlation coefficient between average annual temperature and EVI exceeded 0.5 in four years, and the correlation coefficient between population density and per capita arable land area and EVI exceeded 0.5 in two years showed significant correlation. The results reflect the spatial pattern and influencing factors of ecological vulnerability in typical arid areas of northern China. Background: The clinical significance and immune correlation of CD103+ cells in prostate cancer (PCa) remain explored. Methods: In total, 1080 patients with PCa underwent radical prostatectomy from three cohorts were enrolled for retrospective analysis. Tumour microarrays were constructed and fresh tumour samples were analysed by flow cytometry. Results: High CD103+ cell infiltration correlated with reduced biochemical recurrence (BCR)-free survival in PCa. Adjuvant hormone therapy (HT) prolonged the BCR-free survival for high-risk node-negative diseases with CD103+ cell abundance. CD103+ cell infiltration correlated with less cytotoxic expression and increased infiltration of CD8+ and CD4+ T cells, M1 macrophages and mast cells in PCa. Intratumoral CD8+ T cell was the predominant source of CD103, and the CD103+ subset of CD8+ T cells was featured with high IL-10, PD-1 and CTLA-4 expression. Tumour-infiltrating CD103+ CD8+ T cells exerted anti-tumour function when treated with HT ex vivo. Discussion: CD103+ cell infiltration predicted BCR-free survival and response to adjuvant HT in PCa. CD103+ cell infiltration correlated with an enriched but immune-evasive immune landscape. The study supported a model that CD103 expression conferred negative prognostic impact and immunosuppressive function to tumour-infiltrating CD8+ T cells, while the CD103+ CD8+ T cells exhibited a powerful anti-tumour immunity with response to HT. Modulating the traction converters produces current harmonics at the switching frequencies and their multiples. These harmonics should be minimized to meet the network specifications. The LC‐trapped filters, tuned to these frequencies, can easily meet this requirement, but the existing applicable trap filters have not been studied with the traditional traction system topologies. Thus, this paper presents a trapped LCL filter with an LC resonator on the converter side, called a fully integrated T‐LCL filter, for the traction power supply system. The model and analysis reported in this research demonstrate that the presented filter has several advantages, which can be summarized by: reducing the size by winding many coils through magnetic integration, attenuating the switching frequency and its multiple harmonics that reduce the current total harmonic distortion, assuring durability against the filter parameters differences, and preserving system stability under transient conditions. The proposed filter can become a promising trap filter based on these advantages. Simulation models of an ac/dc single‐phase traction rectifier with the proposed filter were created and tested in MATLAB/Simulink, verifying its superiority. The underlying mechanism for sustaining the high productivity of coral reefs in nutrient deplete water, known as the Darwin Paradox, has long been debated. The input of new nitrogen, for example, derived from N2 fixation, and efficient nitrogen recycling are hypothesized as two critical factors in resolving the paradox. However, the source of new nitrogen and its connection to nitrogen recycling in the coral reef system remain poorly understood. We measured N2 fixation rates and investigated the diazotroph community in different components of a tropical coral reef system. Our results show that the reef‐building crustose coralline algae demonstrate a significantly higher N2 fixation rate than the overlying water or the coral holobiont, representing a large source of N2 fixation to the system. The associated diazotroph community was dominated by the non‐cyanobacterial Rhizobiales. 15N2‐based pulse‐chase incubation experiments revealed ~ 50% of the diazotroph‐derived nitrogen was released from the crustose coralline algae holobiont to the overlying water and coral holobiont within 48 h, which was five fold higher than the fraction of nitrogen released from nitrate‐based assimilation by crustose coralline algae. Furthermore, the released diazotroph‐derived nitrogen was rapidly transferred to the coral holobiont through grazing and was subsequently released back to the overlying water as dissolved organic nitrogen, revealing an efficient pathway that connects the new nitrogen input with the nitrogen recycling in the coral reef ecosystem. Our results provide new insights into the sources and fates of new nitrogen in the coral reefs, helping to resolve the Darwin Paradox in this unique ecosystem. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: Research examining emergency department (ED) admission practices within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is limited. This study investigates facility‐level variation in risk‐standardized admission rates (RSARs) for emergency care–sensitive conditions (ECSCs) among older (≥65 years) and younger (<65 years) Veterans across VA EDs. Methods: Veterans presenting to a VA ED for an ECSC between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2019 were identified and the 10 most common ECSCs established. ECSC‐specific RSARs were calculated using hierarchical generalized linear models, adjusting for Veteran and encounter characteristics. The interquartile range ratio (IQR ratio) and coefficient of variation were measures of dispersion for each condition and were stratified by age group. Associations with facility characteristics were also examined in condition‐specific multivariable models. Results: The overall cohort included 651,336 ED visits across 110 VA facilities for the 10 most common ECSCs—chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, pneumonia, volume depletion, tachyarrhythmias, acute diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, asthma, sepsis, and myocardial infarction (MI). After adjusting for case mix, the ECSCs with the greatest variation (IQR ratio, coefficient of variation) in RSARs were asthma (1.43, 32.12), COPD (1.39, 24.64), volume depletion (1.38, 23.67), and acute diabetes mellitus (1.28, 17.52), whereas those with the least variation were MI (1.01, 0.87) and sepsis (1.02, 2.41). Condition‐specific RSARs were not qualitatively different between age subgroups. Association with facility characteristics varied across ECSCs and within condition‐specific age subgroups. Conclusions: We identified unexplained facility‐level variation in RSARs for Veterans presenting with the 10 most common ECSCs to VA EDs. The magnitude of variation did not appear to be qualitatively different between older and younger Veteran subgroups. The carbon emission trading policy (CETP) is a market-based environmental instrument to reduce carbon emissions and address climate change. It can further have an impact on companies' green innovation (GI). In this regard, we innovatively propose the internal and external theoretical mechanisms of the impact of CETP on the GI of companies and use the financial data and patent data of Chinese listed companies from a micro perspective to empirically verify them. The findings demonstrate that the CETP has an inducing effect on the GI of companies, which is particularly evident in nonstate-owned companies, large companies, and the cleaning industry. The impact of CETP on companies GI is mainly achieved through internal incentive mechanisms, while the role of external influence mechanisms is not obvious. In terms of internal incentives, cost compliance effects and innovation compensation effects are the main channels for promoting GI. In terms of external effects, the carbon market's efficacy has not contributed to boosting GI for companies; the coordination effect of carbon policy and government intervention on companies' GI is also limited. Background: There are a few studies on the chromosomal aberration of Ultrasound soft markers (USMs). The aim of this study was to determine the detection rate of clinically significant chromosomal abnormalities (CSCA) in fetuses with different USMs. Methods: This study included fetuses with USMs who underwent invasive prenatal diagnosis for karyotype and/or chromosomal microarray (CMA) by categorizing into two groups: a single USM (SUSM) and multiple USMs (MUSMs). Results: Of the 358 cases with USMs, CSCA occurred in 3.09% (8/259) and 8.08% (8/99) of the SUSM and MUSM groups, respectively (P < 0.05). Of 16 cases identified with CSCA, theoretically 68.75% (11/16) could be detected by karyotype, while 31.25% (5/16) could be recognized only by CMA. Among CSCA cases, the most frequent USM was an absent or hypoplastic nasal bone (62.5%, 10/16). In cases with negative karyotypes and/or CMA, follow-up results were available in 307 cases, including 292 term deliveries, 6 preterm deliveries, 8 terminations of pregnancy due to USMs, and 1 still birth. Conclusion: MUSMs increased the risk of chromosomal abnormalities. An absent or hypoplastic nasal bone was the most clinically significant marker either alone or in combination with other USMs. Most of SUSM had a good prognosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Swimmers that can convert external energy to dynamic movement have shown great potential in different fields; however, their applications are restrained due to the demerits of high cost, environmental pollution, and low efficiency in exiting propelling methods. Herein, droplets are proposed to use whose motions are restricted to fixed positions or specified areas to propel a superhydrophobic swimmer with a superhydrophilic wedge‐shaped pattern effectively. This propelling method by restricted droplets can more effectively convert droplet surface energy to kinetic energy of the superhydrophobic swimmer, thereby achieving high‐efficient propulsion of the swimmer. The propelling mechanism and propelling force are analyzed in detail, and the movement of the swimmer can be controlled by parameters including wedge angle, droplet volume, and needle size. Based on the propelling phenomenon, an accelerator is further developed to promote the hanging droplets to move along specific tracks, and thereby achieve rapid movement of superhydrophobic swimmers on the water surface. In addition, superhydrophobic swimmers capable of reciprocating and precise movement control including position and direction are also designed, which may provide new strategy for movement control of microdevices in intelligent systems. To achieve efficient delivery and precise release of chemotherapy drugs at tumor sites, an active targeting multi-responsive drug delivery platform was developed. Here, doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) was loaded onto polydopamine (PDA), which were coated by the cystamine-modified hyaluronic acid (HA-Cys), designated as DOX@PDA-HA (PDH). The combination of PDA and HA-Cys endowed the nanoplatform photothermal conversion, tumor-targeting, and pH/redox/NIR sensitive drug release capacity. Moreover, HA could be degraded by the excess hyaluronidase (HAase) in the tumor microenvironment (TME), promoting DOX release, and further enhancing the effect of chemotherapy. Experimental results demonstrated PDH good biocompatibility, high loading rate, targeted drug delivery, and efficient tumor cell killing ability. Rational design and synthesis of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts with high activity and stability are key challenges in the development of rechargeable Zn-air batteries (ZABs). In this paper, tungsten carbide (WC) and Co7Fe3 embedded in N,P co-doped hierarchical carbon (WC/Co7Fe3-NPHC) was prepared by using zeolite imidazolate frameworks as precursor. Density functional theory demonstrates that the mutual adjustment among the WC, Co7Fe3, and N,P co-doped carbon at the three-phase heterojunction interface makes the catalyst possess moderate adsorption strength, and greatly improves the conductivity and electron transfer rate of the catalyst. As a result, the WC/Co7Fe3-NPHC exhibits a low overall oxygen redox potential difference of 0.72 V, while the ZAB assembled by WC/Co7Fe3-NPHC as an air cathode exhibits ultra-long cycle stability of over 550 h. Futhermore, WC/Co7Fe3-NPHC can keep good charge and discharge stability at different bending angles when applied to flexible solid ZAB. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Phubbing is a social exclusion, which indicates a person being phubbed can feel neglected during a face-to-face conversation. The present study examined how parental phubbing is related to adolescent Internet gaming disorder (IGD), and the role of self-esteem and maladaptive cognition. We recruited 813 Chinese adolescents to participate in the current study. Participants completed measures of parental phubbing, self-esteem, maladaptive cognitions, and IGD. Results indicated that maladaptive cognition mediated the relationship between parental phubbing and IGD. Our studies also found out the sequential mediation effect of self-esteem and maladaptive cognition on the relationship between parental phubbing and IGD. Surprisingly, unlike what was predicted, our findings didn't support the moderator role of self-esteem. This unanticipated orientation and other results are discussed. The findings contributed to the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of adolescent IGD and its possible association with parental phubbing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Kansas City, Missouri, became one of the major United States hotspots for COVID-19 due to an increase in the rate of positive COVID-19 test results. Despite the large numbers of positive cases in Kansas City, MO, the spatial-temporal analysis of data has been less investigated. However, it is critical to detect emerging clusters of COVID-19 and enforce control and preventive policies within those clusters. We conducted a prospective Poisson spatial-temporal analysis of Kansas City, MO data to detect significant space-time clusters of COVID-19 positive cases at the zip code level in Kansas City, MO. The analysis focused on daily infected cases in four equal periods of 3 months. We detected temporal patterns of emerging and re-emerging space-time clusters between March 2020 and February 2021. Three statistically significant clusters emerged in the first period, mainly concentrated in downtown. It increased to seven clusters in the second period, spreading across a broader region in downtown and north of Kansas City. In the third period, nine clusters covered large areas of north and downtown Kansas City, MO. Ten clusters were present in the last period, further extending the infection along the State Line Road. The statistical results were communicated with local health officials and provided the necessary guidance for decision-making and allocating resources (e.g. vaccines and testing sites). As more data become available, statistical clustering can be used as a COVID-19 surveillance tool to measure the effects of vaccination. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
