The sublayer thickness of superlattices, as a key factor affecting lattice integrity, interface defects, and strain, deserves in-depth studies about its impact on improving ferroelectric properties. This study described and analyzed the performance of HfO2/ZrO2 superlattices with various sublayer thicknesses. It can be concluded that the structure of the thicker layers will guide the trend of the phase composition of the entire device: when ZrO2 layers are thicker, the superlattices will exhibit antiferroelectricity due to the higher content of the tetragonal phase (t-phase); when HfO2 layers become thicker, the fraction of the monoclinic phase (m-phase) will increase, leading to a decrease in ferroelectricity and an increase in leakage current. In this way, the device with a 1:1 HfO2/ZrO2 thickness ratio was optimized to have the largest remanent polarization and the lowest leakage current. Maintaining the same thickness ratio of the HfO2/ZrO2 superlattices, it was found that HfO2/ZrO2 superlattices with thinner sublayers exhibited a larger remanent polarization (Pr) value due to increased interlayer distortion. Previous studies have demonstrated that when the cyclin D2 (CCND2), a cell-cycle regulatory protein, is overexpressed in human-induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs), cardiomyocytes (CMs) differentiated from these CCND2-overexpressing hiPSCs can proliferate after transplantation into infarcted hearts, which significantly improves the cells' potency for myocardial regeneration. However, persistent CM proliferation could lead to tumor growth or the development of arrhythmogenic complications; thus, the goal of the current study was to generate a line of hiPSCs in which CCND2 overexpression could be tightly controlled. First, we transfected hiPSCs with vectors coding for a doxycycline-inducible Tet-On transactivator and S. pyogenes dCas9 fused to the VPR activation domain; then, the same hiPSCs were engineered to express guide RNAs targeting the CCND2 promotor. Thus, treatment with doxycycline (dox) activated dCas9-VPR expression, and the guide RNAs directed dCas9-VPR to the CCND2 promoter, which activated CCND2 expression. Subsequent experiments confirmed that CCND2 expression was dox-dependent in this newly engineered line of hiPSCs (doxCCND2-hiPSCs): CCND2 protein was abundantly expressed after 48 h of treatment with dox and declined to near baseline level ~96 h after dox treatment was discontinued. Ultrasound is widely applied in diverse domains, such as medical imaging, non-destructive evaluation, and acoustic communication. Piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducers (PMUTs) capable of generating and receiving ultrasonic signals at the micrometer level have become a prominent technology in the field of ultrasound. It is important to enrich the models of the PMUTs to meet the varied applications. In this study, a series of PMUT devices featured with various top electrode configurations, square, circular, and doughnut, were designed to assess the influence of shape on the emission efficacy. It was demonstrated that the PMUTs with a circular top electrode were outperformed, which was calculated from the external acoustic pressure produced by the PMUTs operating in the fundamental resonant mode at a specified distance. Furthermore, the superior performance of PMUT arrays were exhibited through computational simulations for the circular top electrode geometries. Conventional microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) techniques were used to fabricate an array of PMUTs based on aluminum nitride (AlN) films. These findings make great contributions for enhancing the signal transmission sensitivity and bandwidth of PMUTs, which have significant potential in non-destructive testing and medical imaging applications. Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of image-based artificial intelligence (AI) studies in predicting muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). (2) To assess the reporting quality and methodological quality of these studies by Checklist for Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging (CLAIM), Radiomics Quality Score (RQS), and Prediction model Risk of Bias Assessment Tool (PROBAST). Materials and methods: We searched Medline, Embase, Web of Science, and The Cochrane Library databases up to October 30, 2023. The eligible studies were evaluated using CLAIM, RQS, and PROBAST. Pooled sensitivity, specificity, and the diagnostic performances of these models for MIBC were also calculated. Results: Twenty-one studies containing 4256 patients were included, of which 17 studies were employed for the quantitative statistical analysis. The CLAIM study adherence rate ranged from 52.5% to 75%, with a median of 64.1%. The RQS points of each study ranged from 2.78% to 50% points, with a median of 30.56% points. All models were rated as high overall ROB. The pooled area under the curve was 0.85 (95% confidence interval (CI) 0.81–0.88) for computed tomography, 0.92 (95% CI 0.89–0.94) for MRI, 0.89 (95% CI 0.86–0.92) for radiomics and 0.91 (95% CI 0.88–0.93) for deep learning, respectively. Conclusion: Although AI-powered muscle-invasive bladder cancer-predictive models showed promising performance in the meta-analysis, the reporting quality and the methodological quality were generally low, with a high risk of bias. Critical relevance statement: Artificial intelligence might improve the management of patients with bladder cancer. Multiple models for muscle-invasive bladder cancer prediction were developed. A strained triple nanohoop with a shared central benzene unit is synthesized using a threefold intramolecular ring‐closing approach. Among the five possible constitutional isomers, the isomer with the highest D3h symmetry is isolated, the structure of which contains three nanohoop blades and a central hexaphenylbenzene unit. The structure is elucidated using NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The optical and electrochemical properties are investigated, revealing a moderate fluorescence quantum yield of 40 %. A water‐soluble nanomaterial is prepared using a nanoparticle encapsulation method, and a fluorescence quantum yield of 10 % is retained, which demonstrates the potential of the nanomaterial in biological systems. The complex and varied climatic conditions, short duration and high intensity of rainfall, and complex subsurface properties of semi-humid and semi-arid watersheds pose challenges for sub-daily flood forecasting. Previous studies have revealed that lumped models are insufficient because they do not effectively account for the spatial variability in hydrological processes. Extending the lumped model to a distributed modeling framework is a reliable approach for runoff simulation purposes. However, existing distributed models do not adequately characterize the high spatiotemporal variability in sub-daily hydrological processes. To address the above concerns, a distributed modeling framework was proposed that is extended from a lumped model and accounts for the effects of time-varying rainfall intensity and reservoir regulation on hydrological processes. The results indicated that the proposed distributed model could simulate sub-daily flood events with mean values of the NSE, BIAS, RPE, and PTE evaluation metrics of 0.80, 9.2%, 13.0%, and 1.05, respectively, which are superior to those of the lumped model. Furthermore, to evaluate the difference between the proposed and existing distributed models, the proposed distributed model was compared with the variable infiltration capacity (VIC) model at various time steps. The proposed distributed model could better capture the flooding processes at shorter time steps, especially at 3 h. Objective: Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the most aggressive brain tumors and often leads to poor outcomes. Studies have indicated that glycan levels are significantly correlated with the pathogenesis and development of cancers. However, whether glycan levels can serve as diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers in GBM remains unclear. Methods: We obtained glycomic profiles in tissue and serum samples from 55 individuals with GBM using a well‐established lectin biochip platform probing with 11 specific lectins. Results: Our univariate analysis showed that 5 out of the 11 lectin‐probed glycans (LPGs) were significantly higher in GBM tissues than in peri‐tumoral tissues. After logistic regression analyses, only the Jacalin‐probed T‐antigen difference between the two groups remained significant (p = 0.037). Moreover, survival‐related analyses showed that the level of Jacalin‐probed T‐antigen was significantly associated with the progression‐free survival (p = 0.038) of patients. However, none of the LPG levels were correlated with the overall survival or the chemosensitivity to temozolomide therapy. The correlation coefficient analysis showed a moderate‐to‐strong correlation in the Jacalin‐probed T‐antigen levels between GBM tissues and serum samples, indicating its potential usefulness as a non‐invasive GBM progression biomarker. Interpretation: Glycomics analyses can be helpful in the prediction of GBM recurrences and may provide information useful for GBM glycan‐based target therapies or vaccine development. Neural stem cells (NSCs) transplantation is an attractive and promising treatment strategy for spinal cord injury (SCI). Various pathological processes including the severe inflammatory cascade and difficulty in stable proliferation and differentiation of NSCs limit its application and translation. Here, a novel physico‐chemical bifunctional neural stem cells delivery system containing magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs and methylprednisolone (MP) is designed to repair SCI, the former regulates NSCs differentiation through magnetic mechanical stimulation in the chronic phase, while the latter alleviates inflammatory response in the acute phase. The delivery system releases MP to promote microglial M2 polarization, inhibit M1 polarization, and reduce neuronal apoptosis. Meanwhile, NSCs tend to differentiate into functional neurons with magnetic mechanical stimulation generated by MNPs in the static magnetic field, which is related to the activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. SCI mice achieve better functional recovery after receiving NSCs transplantation via physico‐chemical bifunctional delivery system, which has milder inflammation, higher number of M2 microglia, more functional neurons, and axonal regeneration. Together, this bifunctional NSCs delivery system combined physical mechanical stimulation and chemical drug therapy is demonstrated to be effective, which provides new treatment insights into clinical transformation of SCI repair. The TOR1B gene is known to play a pivotal role in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to endoplasmic reticulum stress. However, its involvement in cancer remains relatively understudied. This study seeks to explore the prognostic implications of TOR1B across various cancers, with a specific focus on Basal-like Breast Cancer (BLBC) and its underlying cellular mechanisms. Through comprehensive analysis of data from TCGA, TARGET, GEO, and GTEx, we investigated TOR1B expression and its correlation with patient outcomes. Furthermore, in vitro experiments conducted on BLBC cell lines examined the impact of TOR1B modulation on cell viability, apoptosis, and metabolic activity under varying oxygen levels. Our statistical analysis encompassed differential expression analysis, survival analysis, and multivariate Cox regression. Our findings indicate that TOR1B is overexpressed in BLBC and other cancers, consistently correlating with poorer prognosis. Elevated TOR1B levels were significantly associated with reduced overall and disease-free survival in BLBC patients. In vitro experiments further revealed that TOR1B knockdown augmented apoptosis and influenced metabolic activity, particularly under hypoxic conditions, highlighting its potential role in cancer cell adaptation to stress. Overall, our study underscores the importance of TOR1B in cancer progression, particularly in BLBC, where it serves as a notable prognostic indicator. The interaction between TOR1B and metabolic pathways, as well as its regulation by HIF-1α, suggests its significance in adapting to hypoxia, thereby positioning TOR1B as a promising therapeutic target for aggressive breast cancer subtypes. Aims: Synaptic dysfunction is a hallmark pathology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and is strongly associated with cognitive impairment. Abnormal phagocytosis by the microglia is one of the main causes of synapse loss in AD. Previous studies have shown that the absence of melanoma 2 (AIM2) inflammasome activity is increased in the hippocampus of APP/PS1 mice, but the role of AIM2 in AD remains unclear. Methods: Injection of Aβ1‐42 into the bilateral hippocampal CA1 was used to mimic an AD mouse model (AD mice). C57BL/6 mice injected with AIM2 overexpression lentivirus and conditional knockout of microglial AIM2 mice were used to confirm the function of AIM2 in AD. Cognitive functions were assessed with novel object recognition and Morris water maze tests. The protein and mRNA expression levels were evaluated by western blotting, immunofluorescence staining, and qRT‐PCR. Synaptic structure and function were detected by Golgi staining and electrophysiology. Results: The expression level of AIM2 was increased in AD mice, and overexpression of AIM2 induced synaptic and cognitive impairments in C57BL/6 mice, similar to AD mice. Elevated expression levels of AIM2 occurred in microglia in AD mice. Conditional knockout of microglial AIM2 rescued cognitive and synaptic dysfunction in AD mice. Excessive microglial phagocytosis activity of synapses was decreased after knockout of microglial AIM2, which was associated with inhibiting complement activation. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that microglial AIM2 plays a critical role in regulating synaptic plasticity and memory deficits associated with AD, providing a new direction for developing novel preventative and therapeutic interventions for this disease. Background: Cytology and high‐risk human papilloma virus (hrHPV) cotesting is the mainstay in the detection of cervical carcinoma. Methods: Endocervical adenocarcinoma (EAC) is divided into HPV‐associated adenocarcinoma (HPVA) and HPV‐independent adenocarcinoma (HPVI) by the World Health Organization classification (2020). The detection effect of cotesting is suggested to be different among EAC subtypes and precursors, but has not well‐documented yet. In this study, the authors retrospectively analyzed cotesting among adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS), HPVA, and HPVI. The cohort included 569 AIS and 498 EAC consisting of 371 (74.5%) HPVA, 111 (22.3%) HPVI, and 16 (3.2%) adenocarcinoma, not otherwise specified. Results: The authors found that AIS patients were significantly younger than HPVA and HPVI (mean ± SD, years: 40.7 ± 8.6; HPVA, 44.8 ± 9.3; HPVI, 50.0 ± 11.3; p <.001) and had a higher prevalence of concurrent squamous intraepithelial lesions (75.5%, HPVA, 37.2%; HPVI, 12.6%; p <.001). The detection rate of hrHPV test or cytology was substantially higher in AIS and HPVA than in HPVI (97.7% and 90.2% vs. 16.5%, p <.001, or 71.1% and 71.9% vs. 60.7%, p =.042, respectively). Cytology and hrHPV cotesting was superior to a single test in the detection of EAC and AIS. The detection rate of cotesting amounted to 100% in AIS and 94.3% in HPVA but was substantially lower in HPVI (72.2%) (p <.001). Conclusions: The authors conclude that cytology and hrHPV cotesting can maximize the detection effect for HPVA and AIS but is not optimal for HPVI. The detection efficacy of cytology and high‐risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) cotesting has been analyzed in a large cohort of patients with cervical glandular lesions. Multifunctional conductive hydrogels are widely used as promising candidates for flexible sensors. For these applications, gels with integrated multiple performances, particularly the combination of high mechanical strength and recyclability, are highly desirable but can be rarely achieved in one gel. Here, a MXene-composited organohydrogel is prepared by a facile freezing–thawing process with the incorporation of tannic acid-modified MXene (TA@MXene) into a poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) network in glycerol/water solvent. The introduction of TA can largely improve the stability of MXene in aqueous solution, and meanwhile induces the formation of abundant hydrogen bonds between PVA chains and TA@MXene. The obtained organohydrogel exhibits high tensile strength (3.55 MPa), ultrahigh toughness (9.93 MJ m−3), superior anti-freezing ability (−40 °C), good long-term stability (≥20 days), and remarkable ultraviolet (UV) light filtering capabilities. Interestingly, owing to the reversibility of non-covalent crosslinked structures, the organohydrogel can be recycled and reused by a hot melting–cooling process. Moreover, the organohydrogel-based wearable sensors show high strain sensitivity in a large strain range, which can be used to monitor various human movements and physiological activities, even under harsh conditions or after recycling. The COVID-19 pandemic has made assessing vaccine efficacy more challenging. Besides neutralizing antibody assays, systems vaccinology studies use omics technology to reveal immune response mechanisms and identify gene signatures in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). However, due to their low proportion in PBMCs, profiling the immune response signatures of dendritic cells (DCs) is difficult. Here, we develop a predictive model for evaluating early immune responses in dendritic cells. We establish a THP-1-derived dendritic cell (TDDC) model and stimulate their maturation in vitro with an optimal dose of attenuated yellow fever 17D (YF-17D). Transcriptomic analysis reveals that type I interferon (IFN-I)-induced immunity plays a key role in dendritic cells. IFN-I regulatory biomarkers (IRF7, SIGLEC1) and IFN-I-inducible biomarkers (IFI27, IFI44, IFIT1, IFIT3, ISG15, MX1, OAS2, OAS3) are identified and validated in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, we apply this TDDC approach to various types of vaccines, providing novel insights into their early immune response signatures and their heterogeneity in vaccine recipients. Our findings suggest that a standardizable TDDC model is a promising predictive approach to assessing early immunity in DCs. Synergistic catalytic effects and metal node modulation are pivotal to the performance of multifunctional catalysts.We present a versatile strategy for constructing bimetallic M1M2 cluster catalysts (polyoxometalates (POMs)/Zr‐based metal‐organic frameworks (Zr‐MOF); M1 = Zr; M2 = W, V, Mo) by a microwave‐assisted in‐situ precoordination‐postmodification approach, which consisted of the grafting of POM single clusters onto Zr–O clusters of hierarchical porous composites (defective Zr‐MOF (HUiO‐66x)) and the modulation of metal nodes in Zr‐MOF. Hierarchical porosity and double active centers in the POMs/Zr‐MOF result in greater accessibility to catalytic sites and adjustable acid–base properties, thus providing opportunities for the catalytic transfer hydrogenation of biomass‐derived aldehydes/ketones. The synergistic acid–base couple sites (W6+–O2−–Zr4+) not only bridge hydrogen donors into the reaction system but also promote the dissociation of α‐C(sp3)‐H from isopropanol and subsequent hydrogen transfer to the activated carbonyl in furfural. Enhanced substrate adsorption and decreased activation barrier of the rate‐determining step are keys for the direct hydrogen transfer from carbonyl compounds to near‐quantitative corresponding alcohols via an eight‐membered‐ring transition state to achieving unprecedented low‐temperature catalytic performance over bimetallic Zr–W clusters. Replacement of liquid electrolytes with polymer gel electrolytes is recognized as a general and effective way of solving safety problems and achieving high flexibility in wearable batteries1–6. However, the poor interface between polymer gel electrolyte and electrode, caused by insufficient wetting, produces much poorer electrochemical properties, especially during the deformation of the battery7–9. Here we report a strategy for designing channel structures in electrodes to incorporate polymer gel electrolytes and to form intimate and stable interfaces for high-performance wearable batteries. As a demonstration, multiple electrode fibres were rotated together to form aligned channels, while the surface of each electrode fibre was designed with networked channels. The monomer solution was effectively infiltrated first along the aligned channels and then into the networked channels. The monomers were then polymerized to produce a gel electrolyte and form intimate and stable interfaces with the electrodes. The resulting fibre lithium-ion battery (FLB) showed high electrochemical performances (for example, an energy density of about 128 Wh kg−1). This strategy also enabled the production of FLBs with a high rate of 3,600 m h−1 per winding unit. The continuous FLBs were woven into a 50 cm × 30 cm textile to provide an output capacity of 2,975 mAh. The FLB textiles worked safely under extreme conditions, such as temperatures of −40 °C and 80 °C and a vacuum of −0.08 MPa. The FLBs show promise for applications in firefighting and space exploration.A fibre lithium-ion battery that can potentially be woven into textiles shows enhanced battery performance and safety compared with liquid electrolytes. The olympicenyl radical (OR) has long been a fascinating spin doublet hydrocarbon radical that evoked theoretical and experimental research interests, but the chemistry of olympicenyl was limited by its inherent instability. Recently, this field was revived by the advent of stable, multi‐substituted ORs and the isolation of them in the crystalline phase. In this minireview, we summarize the early studies on the pristine OR, as well as the recent advances on the substituted OR derivatives, heteroatom‐containing OR derivatives, and OR‐based diradicals and polyradicals. The synthetic chemistry, stabilization strategies, self‐association behaviors, reactivities, and applications in the biological field of the abovementioned compounds were discussed. Asphaltenes and waxes are the primary factors affecting the cold flow properties of crude oil. In this paper, based on the binary polymer of acrylate‐maleic anhydride (PM22‐MA), different third polar groups of acrylamide, N‐(hydroxymethyl) acrylamide, N‐phenylacrylamide (NPA), and styrene (SM) were introduced to synthesize a series of ternary pour point depressants (PPDs) to explore the effect of asphaltene on the cold flow properties of Xijiang (XJ) crude oil. Thereinto, PM22‐MA‐NPA containing amide group and benzene ring exhibited the best depressive effect, which decreased pour point by 14°C at 1500 ppm. The mechanism of interaction of the polar groups in PPDs with asphaltene was studied. The polar groups could form stronger hydrogen bonds with asphaltene, delaying the asphaltene macromolecule bonding, allowing the synergistic effect of PPDs and asphaltene to be better utilized to improve the cold flow properties of crude oil. Furthermore, the dipole moment magnitude and electron cloud density were calculated with Gaussian. It was found that the polar group with a dipole moment magnitude of 3.2244 debye and an electron cloud density ranging from −1.6364 to 1.9944 eV was the most suitable third polar monomer for the PPDs of XJ crude oil. Background: Olfactory dysfunction occurs frequently in Parkinson's disease (PD). In this study, we aimed to explore the potential biomarkers and underlying molecular pathways of nicotine for the treatment of olfactory dysfunction in 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1, 2, 3, 6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced PD mice. Methods: MPTP was introduced into C57BL/6 male mice to generate a PD model. Regarding in vivo experiments, we performed behavioral tests to estimate the protective effects of nicotine in MPTP-induced PD mice. RNA sequencing and traditional molecular methods were used to identify molecules, pathways, and biological processes in the olfactory bulb of PD mouse models. Then, in vitro experiments were conducted to evaluate whether nicotine can activate the prok2R/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway in both HEK293T cell lines and primary olfactory neurons treated with 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium (MPP+). Next, prok2R overexpression (prok2R+) and knockdown (prok2R−) were introduced with lentivirus, and the Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway was further explored. Finally, the damaging effects of MPP+ were evaluated in prok2R overexpression (prok2R+) HEK293T cell lines. Results: Nicotine intervention significantly alleviated olfactory and motor dysfunctions in mice with PD. The prok2R/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway was activated after nicotine treatment. Consequently, apoptosis of olfactory sensory neurons was significantly reduced. Furthermore, prok2R+ and prok2R− HEK293T cell lines exhibited upregulation and downregulation of the Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway, respectively. Additionally, prok2R+ HEK293T cells were resistant to MPP+-induced apoptosis. Conclusions: This study showed the effectiveness and underlying mechanisms of nicotine in improving hyposmia in PD mice. These improvements were correlated with reduced apoptosis of olfactory sensory neurons via activated prok2R/Akt/FoxO3a axis. Accurate and rapid detection of nucleic acid sequences is of utmost importance in various fields, including disease monitoring, clinical treatment, gene analysis and drug discovery. In this study, we developed a "turn-on" fluorescence biosensor that enables simple and highly efficient detection of nucleic acid biomarkers. Our approach involves the utilization of 6-carboxyfluorescein modified single-stranded DNA (FAM-ssDNA) as molecular recognition element, along with polydopamine-functionalized dendritic fibrous nanosilica (DFNS). FAM-ssDNA serves as both specific molecular recognition element for the target analyte and reporter capable of transducing a detectable signal through Watson–Crick base pairing. The polydopamine-functionalized DFNS (DFNS@DA) exhibits strong binding to FAM-ssDNA via polyvalent metal mediated coordination leading to effective quenching by fluorescence resonance energy transfer. In the presence of a complementary target sequence, FAM-ssDNA forms hybridized structure and detaches from DFNS@DA, which causes an increased fluorescence emission. The analytical system based on FAM-ssDNA and DFNS@DA demonstrates exceptional sensitivity, selectivity, and rapid response for the detection of nucleic acid sequences, leveraging the high adsorption and quenching properties of DFNS@DA. For the first proof of concept, we demonstrated the successful detection of microRNA (miR-21) in cancer cells using the FAM-ssDNA/DFNS@DA system. Our results highlight the promising capabilities of DFNS@DA and nucleic acid-based biosensors, offering a generic and cost-effective solution for the detection of nucleic acid-related biomarkers. Background: The clinical manifestations of nonclassical 11beta-hydroxylase deficiency are very similar to those of non-classical 21-hydroxylase deficiency. For this study, we investigated the relationship between the clinical and molecular features of congenital adrenal hyperplasia caused by 11beta-hydroxylase deficiency and reviewed the related literature, which are expected to provide assistance for the clinical diagnosis and analysis of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Methods: Clinical data for 10 Chinese patients diagnosed with congenital adrenal hyperplasia in our hospital from 2018 to 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. We examined the effects of gene mutations on protease activity and constructed three-dimensional structure prediction models of proteins. Results: We describe 10 patients with 11beta-hydroxylase gene mutations (n = 5, 46,XY; n = 5, 46,XX), with 10 novel mutations were reported. Female patients received treatment at an early stage, with an average age of 2.08 ± 1.66 years, whereas male patients received treatment significantly later, at an average age of 9.77 ± 3.62 years. The most common CYP11B1 pathogenic variant in the Chinese population was found to be c.1360C > T. All mutations lead to spatial conformational changes that affect protein stability. Conclusions: Our study found that there was no significant correlation between each specific mutation and the severity of clinical manifestations. Different patients with the same gene pathogenic variant may have mild or severe clinical manifestations. The correlation between genotype and phenotype needs further study. Wide bandgap semiconductor gallium oxide (β -Ga2O3) has emerged as a prominent material in the field of high-power microelectronics and optoelectronics, due to its excellent and stable performance. However, the lack of high-quality p-type β -Ga2O3 hinders the realization of its full potential. Here, we initially summarize the origins of p-type doping limitation in β -Ga2O3, followed by proposing four potential design strategies to enhance the p-type conductivity of β -Ga2O3. (i) Lowering the formation energy of acceptors to enhance its effective doping concentration. (ii) Reducing the ionization energy of acceptors to increase the concentration of free holes in the valence band maximum (VBM). (iii) Increasing the VBM of β -Ga2O3 to decrease the ionization energy of acceptors. (iv) Intrinsic defect engineering and nanotechnology of β -Ga2O3. For each strategy, we illustrate the design principles based on fundamental physical theories along with specific examples. Autonomous mobile robots play a vital role in the mechanized production of orchards, where human-following is a crucial collaborative function. In unstructured orchard environments, obstacles often obscure the path, and personnel may overlap, leading to significant disruptions to human-following. This paper introduces the KCF-YOLO fusion visual tracking method to ensure stable tracking in interference environments. The YOLO algorithm provides the main framework, and the KCF algorithm intervenes in assistant tracking. A three-dimensional binocular-vision reconstruction method was used to acquire personnel positions, achieving stabilized visual tracking in disturbed environments. The robot was guided by fitting the personnel's trajectory using an unscented Kalman filter algorithm. The experimental results show that, with 30 trials in multi-person scenarios, the average tracking success rate is 96.66%, with an average frame rate of 8 FPS. Additionally, the mobile robot is capable of maintaining a stable following speed with the target individuals. Across three human-following experiments, the horizontal offset Error Y does not exceed 1.03 m. The proposed KCF-YOLO tracking method significantly bolsters the stability and robustness of the mobile robot for human-following in intricate orchard scenarios, offering an effective solution for tracking tasks. Background. Emergency department (ED) overcrowding is influenced by several factors including the hospital's capacity, staff, patient discharges, and community resources. The number of annual ED visits has increased, with patients' medical needs exceeding emergency capacity, resulting in a widespread concern about emergency room overcrowding. Nonemergency patients tend to use large amounts of emergency medical resources, which is one reason for ED overcrowding. Most patients consider their medical cases urgent, whereas medical professionals consider many cases to be nonemergency. Only a few studies have examined self-rated health among nonemergency patients. Methods. This cross-sectional study was conducted in the ED of a tertiary hospital in China using the European Quality of Life Five-Dimensional Questionnaire to investigate the health status of nonemergency patients. Results. Among the 545 respondents, 246 (45.14%) self-assessed their health as excellent, 186 (34.13%) as very good, 70 (12.84%) as good, 32 (5.87%) as average, and 11 (2.02%) as poor. Problems related to pain/discomfort were reported by 317 (58.17%) participants, 214 (39.27%) responded that they had problems related to daily activities, 212 (38.90%) responded that they felt anxious or depressed, 211 (38.35%) responded that they had problems related to self-care, and some or extreme problems related to mobility were stated by 193 people (35.41%). Conclusions. Nonemergency patients generally reported good health. Pain/discomfort was the most significant factor affecting the health of nonemergency patients, followed by limitation of daily activities. The duration of illness onset and self-rated health status were common factors influencing the health status of nonemergency patients. This trial is registered with ChiCTR1900023578. Construction of S‐scheme heterojunction offers a promising way to enhance the photocatalytic performance of photocatalysts for converting solar energy into chemical energy. However, the photocatalytic H2 production in pure water without sacrificial agents is still a challenge. Herein, the IEF‐11 with the best photocatalytic H2 production performance in MOFs and suitable band structure was selected and firstly constructed with g‐C3N4 to obtain a S‐scheme heterojunction for photocatalytic H2 production from pure water. As a result, the novel IEF‐11/g‐C3N4 heterojunction photocatalysts exhibited significantly improved photocatalytic H2 production performance in pure water without any sacrificial agent, with a rate of 576 μmol/g/h, which is about 8 times than that of g‐C3N4 and 23 times of IEF‐11. The novel IEF‐11/g‐C3N4 photocatalysts also had a photocatalytic H2 production rate of up to 92 μmol/g/h under visible light and a good photocatalytic stability. The improved performance can be attributed to the efficient separation of photogenerated charge carriers, faster charge transfer efficiency and longer photogenerated carrier lifetimes, which comes from the forming of S‐scheme heterojunction in the IEF‐11/g‐C3N4 photocatalyst. Galvanostatic oxidation of them affords radical cation salts (3SEt)5(TTFMPB)3, (3SeEt)5(TTFMPB)3, (3SEt)4PMA, and (3SeEt)4PMA, where PMA is Keggin‐type phosphomolybdate and TTFMPB is tetrakis[3,5‐bis(trifluoromethyl)‐phenyl]borate. In these salts, 3SEt/3SeEt are partially charged and show distinct conformation change with the site charge and counter anions. In TTFMPB salts, (TTFMPB)− forms hexagonal channels that accommodate the packing columns of 3SEt/3SeEt. In particular, (3SEt)5(TTFMPB)3 adopts the R3c space group and is a polar crystal with the columns of 3SEt all in the up‐bowl direction. The PMA salts of 3SEt/3SeEt are polar crystals (C2 space group) with 3SEt/3SeEt being planar and forming columnar stacks. Background: Developmental and epileptic encephalopathy-50 (DEE-50) is a rare clinical condition believed to be caused by a mutation in the CAD gene and is associated with a bleak prognosis. CAD-related diseases have a wide range of clinical manifestations and other symptoms that may be easily overlooked. Like other rare diseases, the clinical manifestations and the treatment of DEE-50 necessitate further investigation. Case presentation: A 1-year-old male patient presented with developmental delay, seizures, and anaemia at 3 months of age. He further developed refractory status epilepticus (SE), rapid deterioration of cognitive and motor function, and even became comatose at 5 months of age. Whole-exome sequencing of trios (WES-trios) revealed a compound heterozygous variant in the CAD gene, with one locus inherited from his father (c.1252C>T: p.Q418* nonsense mutation) and one from his mother (c.6628G>A: p.G2210S, missense mutation). This compound heterozygous CAD variant was unreported in the Human Gene Mutation Database. After uridine treatment, his cognitive faculties dramatically improved and he remained seizure-free. Forty two cases with CAD gene mutation reported in the literatures were reviewed. Among them, 90% had onset before 3 years of age, with average of 1.6±1.8 years old. The average age of diagnosis was 7.7 ± 10 years. The mortality rate was approximately 9.5%, with all reported deaths occurring in patients without uridine treatment. The clinical entity could be improved dramatically when the patient treated with uridine. Conclusions: We present a boy with DEE 50 caused by novel CAD gene mutations and reviewed the clinical features of 42 patients reported previously. DEE 50 has early onset, refractory seizures, even status epilepticus leading to death, with favorable response to treatment with oral uridine. Early uridine treatment is recommended if CAD defect is suspected or genetically diagnosed. This study enhances the knowledge of DEE 50 and expands the spectrum of CAD gene mutations. Network embedding can effectively dig out potentially useful information and discover the relationships and rules which exist in the data, that has attracted increasing attention in many real-world applications. The goal of network embedding is to map high-dimensional and sparse networks into low-dimensional and dense vector representations. In this paper, we propose a network embedding method based on high-degree penalty and adaptive negative sampling (NEPS). First, we analyze the problem of imbalanced node training in random walk and propose an indicator base on high-degree penalty, which can control the random walk and avoid over-sampling high-degree neighbor node. Then, we propose a two-stage adaptive negative sampling strategy, which can dynamically obtain negative samples suitable for the current training according to the training stage to improve training effect. By comparing with seven well-known network embedding algorithms on eight real-world data sets, experiments show that the NEPS has good performance in node classification, network reconstruction and link prediction. Background: Patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) are often co-morbid with unprovoked seizures, making clinical diagnosis and management difficult. Although it has an important role in both AD and epilepsy, abnormal γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)ergic transmission is recognized only as a compensative change for glutamatergic damage. Neuregulin 1 (NRG1)-ErbB4 signaling can promote GABA release and suppress epileptogenesis, but its effects on cognition in AD are still controversial. Methods: Four-month-old APPswe/PS1dE9 mice (APP mice) were used as animal models in the early stage of AD in this study. Acute/chronic chemical-kindling epilepsy models were established with pentylenetetrazol. Electroencephalogram and Racine scores were performed to assess seizures. Behavioral tests were used to assess cognition and emotion. Electrophysiology, western blot and immunofluorescence were performed to detect the alterations in synapses, GABAergic system components and NRG1-ErbB4 signaling. Furthermore, NRG1 was administrated intracerebroventricularly into APP mice and then its antiepileptic and cognitive effects were evaluated. Results: APP mice had increased susceptibility to epilepsy and resulting hippocampal synaptic damage and cognitive impairment. Electrophysiological analysis revealed decreased GABAergic transmission in the hippocampus. This abnormal GABAergic transmission involved a reduction in the number of parvalbumin interneurons (PV+ Ins) and decreased levels of GABA synthesis and transport. We also found impaired NRG1-ErbB4 signaling which mediated by PV+ Ins loss. And NRG1 administration could effectively reduce seizures and improve cognition in four-month-old APP mice. Conclusion: Our results indicated that abnormal GABAergic transmission mediated hippocampal hyperexcitability, further excitation/inhibition imbalance, and promoted epileptogenesis in the early stage of AD. Appropriate NRG1 administration could down-regulate seizure susceptibility and rescue cognitive function. In optical systems for communication, sensing, and imaging, integrating optoelectronic and electronic components on-chip to develop optoelectronic applications has become the focus of future research. Among these components, photodetectors (PDs) capable of converting optical signals into electrical signals are one of the fundamental elements. Two-dimensional materials (2DMs), with atomic-level thickness, unique optoelectronic properties, wide effective absorption range, and ease of integration, are excellent light-absorbing materials for PDs, offering possibilities for improving their performance, reducing their cost, and expanding their applications. More importantly, integrating 2DMs with on-chip waveguide structures can enhance the interaction between light and materials, and their fabrication processes are compatible with complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor technology, enabling the development of numerous on-chip optoelectronic integrated applications. Presently, on-chip 2DM-based waveguide-integrated PDs are rapidly developing, and thus summarizing the latest advancements in these devices and discussing their broad application prospects are both necessary and important to guide future research in this field. In this review, we provide a comprehensive analysis of the fundamental concepts and core principles of 2DMs and their PDs, especially the integration of 2DM-based PDs utilizing various types of on-chip waveguide structures such as rectangular waveguides, slot waveguides, surface plasmon polariton waveguides, photonic crystal waveguides, and micro-ring resonators. Furthermore, their specific application prospects are briefly introduced. Diarylethene molecular photoswitches hold great fascination as optical information materials due to their unique bistability and exceptional reversible photoswitching properties. Conventional diarylethenes, however, rely on UV light for ring‐closure reactions, typically with modest yields. For practical application, diarylethenes driven by visible lights are preferred but achieving high ring‐closure reaction yield remains a significant challenge. Herein, we synthesized a novel all‐visible‐light‐driven photoswitch, TPAP−DTE, by facilely endcapping the dithienylethene (DTE) core with triphenylamine phenyl (TPAP) groups. Owing to the electron‐donating conjugation effect of TPAP, the open‐form TPAP−DTE responds strongly to short‐wavelength visible lights with considerable photocyclization quantum yields and molar absorption coefficient. Upon 405 nm visible‐light irradiation, TPAP−DTE achieves a ring‐closure reaction yield exceeding 96.3 % (confirmed by both nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and high‐performance liquid chromatography). Its ring‐opening reaction yield is 100 % upon irradiation with long‐wavelength visible light. TPAP−DTE could be regarded as a bidirectional "quasi"‐quantitative conversion molecular switch. Furthermore, TPAP−DTE exhibits robust fatigue resistance over 100 full photoswitching cycles and great anti‐aging property under 85 °C and 85 % humidity for at least 1000 h. Consequently, its rewritable QR‐code, multilevel data storage, and anti‐counterfeiting/encryption applications are successfully demonstrated exclusively using visible lights, positioning TPAP−DTE as a highly promising medium for information recording. Calcium–oxygen (Ca–O2) batteries can theoretically afford high capacity by the reduction of O2 to calcium oxide compounds (CaOx) at low cost1–5. Yet, a rechargeable Ca–O2 battery that operates at room temperature has not been achieved because the CaOx/O2 chemistry typically involves inert discharge products and few electrolytes can accommodate both a highly reductive Ca metal anode and O2. Here we report a Ca–O2 battery that is rechargeable for 700 cycles at room temperature. Our battery relies on a highly reversible two-electron redox to form chemically reactive calcium peroxide (CaO2) as the discharge product. Using a durable ionic liquid-based electrolyte, this two-electron reaction is enabled by the facilitated Ca plating–stripping in the Ca metal anode at room temperature and improved CaO2/O2 redox in the air cathode. Atherosclerosis is one of the major causes of death worldwide, and it is closely related to many cardiovascular diseases, such as stroke, myocardial infraction and angina. Although traditional surgical and pharmacological interventions can effectively retard or slow down the progression of atherosclerosis, it is very difficult to prevent or even reverse this disease. In recent years, with the rapid development of nanotechnology, various nanoagents have been designed and applied to different diseases including atherosclerosis. The unique atherosclerotic microenvironment with signature biological components allows nanoplatforms to distinguish atherosclerotic lesions from normal tissue and to approach plaques specifically. Based on the process of atherosclerotic plaque formation, this review summarises the nanodrug delivery strategies for atherosclerotic therapy, trying to provide help for researchers to understand the existing atherosclerosis management approaches as well as challenges and to reasonably design anti-atherosclerotic nanoplatforms. Aims: This study aimed to better characterize the clinical and molecular features in invasive stratified mucin‐producing carcinoma (ISMC), an uncommon aggressive subtype of endocervical adenocarcinoma (EAC). Methods and Results: We recruited 59 ISMC for clinicopathological analysis, immunohistochemistry (n = 56), and targeted next‐generation sequencing (n = 17). Our cases contained 29 pure and 30 mixed‐type ISMC. Five patients developed local recurrence at 6–32 months (median: 13 months), and died of disease at 16–55 months (median: 16 months). Pure and mixed‐type ISMC showed no significant difference in overall survival and tumour relapse (P > 0.05) except larger tumour size in the pure‐type (P = 0.009). Compared to the usual‐type EAC (n = 217), ISMsC were more frequently associated with large tumour size (P = 0.003), advanced FIGO stage (P = 0.017), lymph node metastasis (P = 0.022), Silva pattern C (P < 0.001), and poor overall survival and short tumour recurrence. SOX2 expression was observed in 82.1% (46/56) ISMC, substantially higher than p63 expression (P < 0.001), while positive SOX17 was present in 3.6% (2/56) cases. PD‐L1 was positive in 41/56 ISMC (73.21%) (combined positive score: range: 1–92, median: 22). Three ISMC patients (17.65%) had PIK3CA mutations, while one each (5.88%) patient harboured an ERBB2, TP53, STK11, and PTEN mutation, respectively. Conclusion: We conclude that ISMC is clinically more aggressive than the usual‐type EAC. ISMC may originate from cervical reserve cells with bidirectional differentiation. PD‐L1 overexpression and the molecular profiles raise the possibility that a subset of ISMC patients may benefit from anti‐PD‐L1 immunotherapy and other targeted therapy, such as mTOR inhibitor and T‐DM1. In recent years, the problem of unbalanced and insufficient development in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region has become increasingly prominent, posing higher requirements for regional coordinated development. Based on elucidating the connotations of the balanced development of regional coordination, this article constructed an evaluation index system for the balanced development of regional coordination in the YRD region in 12 dimensions, such as people's living standards, basic public services, and beautiful ecology. It attempted to quantitatively reveal the level of balanced development of regional coordination in the YRD region in 2020 and develop optimization strategies using mathematical models such as the entropy method, spatial autocorrelation, and the Gini coefficient, which have important value for clarifying the inherent contradictions in the balanced development of regional coordination in this region and promoting regional sustainable development. The main conclusions are as follows: (1) At the provincial level, Jiangsu Province won in two sub-categories, coordination and integration; Zhejiang won in the balance sub-category; and Anhui performed better in the integration sub-category. (2) The main reasons for the significant differences between the cities were the public basic services in the equilibrium index, the industrial coordination and human–nature coordination in the coordination index, and the market unity sub-item in the integration index. (3) Based on the coordinated and balanced development level in each city's regions, four types of regulatory areas were further divided, namely, key development areas, optimized development areas, relatively underdeveloped areas, and important safety barrier areas. Navigation map generation based on remote sensing images is crucial in fields such as autonomous driving and geographic surveying. Style transfer is an effective method for obtaining a navigation map of the current environment. However, there is lack of robustness of the map-style transfer model, resulting in unsatisfactory quality of the generated navigation maps. To address these challenges, we average the parameters of generators sampled from different iterations with a dense sampling strategy in the Generative Adversarial Network (CycleGAN). The results demonstrate that the training efficiency of our method on the MNIST and generation quality on the Google Map dataset are significantly superior to traditional style transfer methods. Moreover, it performs well in multi-environment hybrid mapping. Our method improves the generalization ability of the model and converts existing navigation maps to other styles of maps precisely. Geocells have recently been widely used to reinforce subgrade/foundation soil beds. The honeycomb-shaped cells can significantly improve the apparent cohesion and stiffness of soil due to the lateral limitation. This paper aims to predict the subgrade modulus of geocell-reinforced sand beds according to the unreinforced soil and the properties of geocells. Numerical technology was adopted to obtain the original data used for building the predicted model. A laboratory plate load test was initially cited to validate the calculated results obtained using FLAC3D. The validated model was subsequently extended to the baseline model of geocell-reinforced sand beds. The influence of reinforced parameters on bearing capacity and subgrade modulus was discussed deeply. The results revealed that only sufficient lateral deformation could increase the passive resistance of geocells. Based on this, the predicted model was proposed by considering the applied load, unreinforced soil, and geocell parameters. Furthermore, a modified equation was also built to suit all sand with different relative densities. The comparison results showed the suitability and accuracy of this model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Context Fusion oncogenes, especially those involving RET or NTRK, are known drivers of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). They are prevalent in pediatric patients and correlate with aggressive tumor behavior. Objective We explored the age dependence of fusion oncogenes and aggressive tumor behavior in young adult PTC patients. Experimental Design We examined 150 tumors from 142 PTC patients aged between 17∼35 years old with established tumor-node-metastasis stages. Oncogenic drivers and the thyroid differentiation score (TDS) were determined by DNA and RNA sequencing of a target panel. Transcriptome analysis was performed in PTCs with RET fusions. Results Among 150 PTCs, we detected BRAF V600E (n = 105), RET fusions (n = 15), NTRK3 fusions (n = 8), and BRAF fusions (n = 4). We found that fusion oncogenes were associated with nodal metastasis when age was tiered into 3 groups: <25 years, 25∼29 years, and 30∼35 years. Patients under 25 years old showed a marginal increase in tumor stage compared to those over 25 years (75.00% vs 21.74%, P =.0646). Risk of lateral lymph node metastasis increased with younger age (75.00% vs 27.27% vs 8.33%, P =.0369). As with advanced tumor and node stage, patients harboring fusion oncogenes and aged under 25 years showed the lowest TDS; genes associated with immunoglobulin production and production of molecular mediators of the immune response were significantly upregulated. Conclusions Adult PTC patients under 25 years with fusion oncogenes showed a tendency toward advanced tumor stage and lower thyroid differentiation. Studies regarding age‐related erectile dysfunction (ED) based on naturally aging models are limited by their high costs, especially for the acquisition of primary cells from the corpus cavernosum. Herein, d‐galactose (d‐gal) was employed to accelerate cell senescence, and the underlying mechanism was explored. As predominant functional cells involved in the erectile response, corpus cavernosum smooth muscle cells (CCSMCs) were isolated from 2‐month‐old rats. Following this, d‐gal was introduced to induce cell senescence, which was verified via β‐galactosidase staining. The effects of d‐gal on CCSMCs were evaluated by terminal deoxynucleoitidyl transferase dUTP nick‐end labeling (TUNEL), immunofluorescence staining, flow cytometry, western blot, and quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction (qRT‐PCR). Furthermore, RNA interference (RNAi) was carried out for rescue experiments. Subsequently, the influence of senescence on the corpus cavernosum was determined via scanning electron microscopy, qRT‐PCR, immunohistochemistry, TUNEL, and Masson stainings. The results revealed that the accelerated senescence of CCSMCs was promoted by d‐gal. Simultaneously, smooth muscle alpha‐actin (alpha‐SMA) expression was inhibited, while that of osteopontin (OPN) and Krüppel‐like factor 4 (KLF4), as well as fibrotic and apoptotic levels, were elevated. After knocking down KLF4 expression in d‐gal‐induced CCSMCs by RNAi, the expression level of cellular alpha‐SMA increased. Contrastingly, the OPN expression, apoptotic and fibrotic levels declined. In addition, cellular senescence acquired partial remission. Accordingly, in the aged corpus cavernosum, the fibrotic and apoptotic rates were increased, followed by downregulation in the expression of alpha‐SMA and the concurrent upregulation in the expression of OPN and KLF4. Overall, our results signaled that d‐gal‐induced accelerated senescence of CCSMCs could trigger fibrosis, apoptosis and phenotypic switch to the synthetic state, potentially attributed to the upregulation of KLF4 expression, which may be a multipotential therapeutic target of age‐related ED. Background: Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a cerebrovascular disorder characterized by progressive unilateral or bilateral stenosis of the distal internal carotid artery. As hemodynamic features in MMD patients alter, the comorbidity of intracranial aneurysm (IA) is sometimes observed clinically. We aim to investigate clinical characteristics and therapeutic strategies for the comorbidity of Moyamoya disease with intracranial aneurysms (MMD-IA). Methods: A total of 13 MMD-IA patients were recruited in this study and were manifested to be intracranial hemorrhage. We reviewed the surgical technique notes for all patients. Results: According to the locations of an aneurysm, MMD-IA could be divided into several categories: (1) MMD-IA at a circle of Willis—aneurysms usually located at the trunk of Willis circle; (2) MMD-IA at collateral anastomosis—aneurysms located at the distal end of collateral anastomosis; and (3) MMA-IA at basal ganglia region. In this report, aneurysms in 10 patients located at Willis circle, 2 at the pericallosal artery, and 1 at the basal ganglia region. Among them, endovascular embolism was performed among 5 patients. Aneurysm clipping was conducted among 7 patients. A patient with an aneurysm at the basal ganglia region just accepted revascularization treatment. All the treatments were successful. Follow-up studies, ranging from 6 to 24 months, demonstrated all patients received satisfactory curative effects. Conclusion: Diverse clinical presentations could be observed among MMD-IA patients. To optimize the lighting design of urban roads in China and improve traffic safety, the present study conducted a 10-year longitudinal experiment on urban asphalt roads in Zhejiang Province, China, and analyzed variations of the road surface's reflective properties and lighting quality with different service lengths, surface areas, and observation angles. The results showed that these roads were R2 roads with low resilience and strong directional reflection. The average luminance coefficient Q0 reached maximum and minimum at the beginning and after around one year of service, respectively. After four years of service, Q0 was about 80% of its initial value and remained stable. The specularity factor S1 reached a maximum of around two years of service. The average luminance Lav was approximately 35%, and overall luminance uniformity U0 was 31%, lower than that of R3 roads during the toughest period of the service life. If the lighting design follows the 1° observation angle r-table recommended by the specification, high Lav and low U0 occur for roads like expressways, leading to a significant increase in traffic safety risks; collector roads may suffer from insufficient Lav. Urban asphalt roads in Zhejiang Province, China, should use the R2 road standard and increase the design value of Lav by 35–45%, and high-level roads should increase the design value of U0 by 40%. Efficient separation of boron and iron from ludwigite ore has been achieved by developing a process consisting of low-temperature microwave reductive roasting, milling and leaching, and magnetic separation. To facilitate the separation, microwave reductive roasting was performed based on the design of core–shell composite pellets composed of ludwigite ore, renewable biomass-redrived biochar, and sodium carbonate, which took advantage of their differences in the microwave penetration depth and microwave reflection loss according to the rule of impedance matching. Under the optimal conditions of roasting temperature of 700°C and dwell time of 20 min, the metallized pellets with iron metallization degree of 89.8% were obtained for simultaneous milling and leaching, which produced a boron-rich leachate with boron leaching percentage of 83.9% and a direct reduced iron powder with total iron content of 90.1 wt.%, iron metallization degree of 94.2%, and iron recovery of 85.9% after magnetic separation of the leaching residue. Curcuminoids are functional food additives, and the effect on gonadal hormone biosynthesis remains unclear. Gonads contain 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase isoforms, h3β-HSD2 (humans) and r3β-HSD1 (rats), which catalyse pregnenolone into progesterone. The potency and mechanisms of curcuminoids to inhibit 3β-HSD activity were explored. The inhibitory potency was bisdemethoxycurcumin (IC50, 1.68 µM) >demethoxycurcumin (3.27 µM) > curcumin (13.87 µM) > tetrahydrocurcumin (109.0 µM) > dihydrocurcumin and octahydrocurcumin on KGN cell h3β-HSD2, while that was bisdemethoxycurcumin (1.22 µM) >demethoxycurcumin (2.18 µM) > curcumin (4.12 µM) > tetrahydrocurcumin (102.61 µM) > dihydrocurcumin and octahydrocurcumin on testicular r3β-HSD1. All curcuminoids inhibited progesterone secretion by KGN cells under basal and forskolin-stimulated conditions at >10 µM. Docking analysis showed that curcuminoids bind steroid-active site with mixed or competitive mode. In conclusion, curcuminoids inhibit gonadal 3β-HSD activity and de-methoxylation of curcumin increases inhibitory potency and metabolism of curcumin by saturation of carbon chain losses inhibitory potency. Photocatalytic valorization and selective transformation of biomass‐derived platform compounds offer great opportunities for efficient utilization of renewable resources under mild conditions. Here, the novel three‐dimensional hierarchical flower‐like CdS/Ti3C2 Schottky junction (MCdS) composed of surface‐controlled CdS and pretreated Ti3C2 MXene is created for photocatalytic dehydrogenation‐reductive amination of biomass‐derived amino acid production under ambient temperature with unprecedented activity and selectivity. Schottky junction efficiently promotes photoexcited charge migration and separation and inhibits photogenerated electron‐hole recombination, which results in a super‐high activity. Meanwhile, CdS with the reduced surface energy supplies sufficient hydrogen sources for imine reduction and induces the preferential orientation of alanine, thus contributing superior selectivity. Moreover, a wide range of hydroxyl acids are successfully converted into corresponding amino acids and even one‐pot conversion of glucose to alanine is easily achieved over MCdS.
