This article discusses the use of a hybrid team-based case-based learning approach to enhance students' academic performance in dental materials science courses. Traditional teaching methods, such as didactic lectures, can be ineffective in helping students grasp the practical applications of materials science in clinical dentistry. The study compared the academic performance of undergraduate dental students using the hybrid approach against traditional lectures and found that the hybrid approach significantly improved students' assessment scores. Female students benefited more from the hybrid approach than male students. Further research is needed to assess the efficacy of this approach in other healthcare fields and diverse student populations. [Extracted from the article]
