We investigate the moiré band structures and the strong correlation effects in twisted bilayer MoTe2 for a wide range of twist angles, employing a combination of various techniques. Using large-scale first-principles calculations, we pinpoint realistic continuum modeling parameters, subsequently deriving the maximally localized Wannier functions for the top three moiré bands. Simplifying our model with reasonable assumptions, we obtain a minimal two-band model, encompassing Coulomb repulsion, correlated hopping, and spin exchange. Our minimal interaction models pave the way for further exploration of the rich many-body physics in twisted MoTe2. Furthermore, we explore the phase diagrams of the system through Hartree-Fock approximation and exact diagonalization (ED). Our two-band ED analysis underscores significant band-mixing effects in this system, which enlarge the optimal twist angle for fractional quantum anomalous Hall states. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, ternary Cu2SnS3 (CTS) nanostructure materials with high crystallinity were successfully prepared via a facile solvothermal method, which was followed by high-temperature treatment. The morphology of the as-synthesized samples is uniform flower-like spheres, with these spheres consisting of hierarchical nanosheets and possessing network features. Sodium storage measurements demonstrate that the annealed CTS electrodes have high initial reversible capacity (447.7 mAh.1 at a current density of 100 mA.1), good capacity retention (200.6 mAh.1 after 50 cycles at a current density of 100 mA.1) and considerable rate capability because of their high crystallinity and unique morphology. The InGaN/GaN multi-quantum-wells (MQWs) solar cells employing the surficial GaN nanostructure as light traps were investigated. The performance of the InGaN/GaN MQWs solar cell with nano holes surface shows an obvious advantage over that with nano poles, much less than the planar one. From the measurements of EQE and photoluminescence spectra, the enhancement of photoelectric response contributes to the device performances. Because the effective light absorption is increased, the conversion efficiency significantly improves from 1.02% (planar surface) up to 2.235% (nano holes surface). Although the performance is still low, it is exactly an effective method to enhance the conversion efficiency via introducing nanostructures on the surface of the InGaN/GaN MQWs cells. The plastidic 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol-4-phosphate (MEP) pathway is one of the most important pathways in plants and produces a large variety of essential isoprenoids. Its regulation, however, is still not well understood. Using the stable isotope 13C-labeling technique, we analyzed the carbon fluxes through the MEP pathway and into the major plastidic isoprenoid products in isoprene-emitting and transgenic isoprene-nonemitting (NE) gray poplar (Populus x canescens). We assessed the dependence on temperature, light intensity, and atmospheric [CO2]. Isoprene biosynthesis was by far (99%) the main carbon sink of MEP pathway intermediates in mature gray poplar leaves, and its production required several fold higher carbon fluxes compared with NE leaves with almost zero isoprene emission. To compensate for the much lower demand for carbon, NE leaves drastically reduced the overall carbon flux within the MEP pathway. Feedback inhibition of 1-deoxy-D-xylulose-5-phosphate synthase activity by accumulated plastidic dimethylallyl diphosphate almost completely explained this reduction in carbon flux. Our data demonstrate that short-term biochemical feedback regulation of 1-deoxy-D-xylulose-5-phosphate synthase activity by plastidic dimethylallyl diphosphate is an important regulatory mechanism of the MEP pathway. Despite being relieved from the large carbon demand of isoprene biosynthesis, NE plants redirected only approximately 0.5% of this saved carbon toward essential nonvolatile isoprenoids, i.e. β-carotene and lutein, most probably to compensate for the absence of isoprene and its antioxidant properties. A back-illuminated vertical-structure ZnO ultraviolet (UV) detector was fabricated using an indium-tin oxide (ITO) electrode. Ordered ITO and ZnO films were grown on a quartz substrate by radiofrequency sputtering. At 5 V bias, the dark current was 640 μA and the photocurrent was 16.8 mA under UV illumination (365 nm, 10 μW), indicating a high responsivity of 1616 A/W. The response time measurements showed a rise time of 71.2 ns and a decay time of 377 μs. The ZnO detector performed well and can be used in a focal-plane array for UV image detection. Adopted the distribution feedback type (DFB) laser to measure the coal mine gas methane, according to the methane located 1.6 μm nearby 2 ν 3 with a R9 direct absorption spectrum, attraction wire intensity of each line was calculated through the multi-line Voigt fitting. The experimental result indicates that in the obtained four attraction recover of wire, the maximum deviation is 2.7%, and the minimum deviation is 0.02%, other results are all in experimental error scope. A high-performance metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) ultraviolet photodetector was fabricated based on a ZnO film with Al interdigitated (IDT) electrodes. A c-axis-oriented ZnO film was grown on a SiO2/Si (100) substrate at room temperature by a reactive radiofrequency (RF) sputtering technique and then annealed at 900°C in pure O2 ambient for 1 h. The fabricated ZnO ultraviolet (UV) detector demonstrated a high responsivity of 2069 A/W when biased at 5 V, which could be attributed to the influence of the annealing process in pure O2 ambient. The P spectra of pion from resonance decay are studied. It is found that the reduction of effective mass increases the emission of low P pions. The approach to explain the enhancement of low- P pion observed by the NA35 Collaboration in 200 GeV S+S collisions with the contribution from the resonance decays can be improved by the mass reduction. The two phase model for the quark-gluon deconfinement phase transition is modified based on the tempreature and density related properties of the hadron. The revised approach is consistent with the single body description. Its consequences on the pressure and energy density of the hadron gas is investigated, and the critical value of temperature and chemical potential of the phase transition from the hadron gas to a non-interacting quark matter are calculated. Within the framework of ellipsoidal bag model, the $$Q\bar Qg$$ state at finite temperature is investigated, and the dependence of the energy of the system on the interquark separation is obtained. The experiment given by BEBC TST Neutrino Collaboration was reanalysed. From the ν and $$\overline \nu $$ hydrogen data the strange-quark distribution in a free proton is extracted. Due to the violation of the Gottfried sum rule, the quark model is slightly modified as $$\bar u = 2\bar d$$ instead of $$\bar u = \bar d$$ in proton. The effect of 3-MeV proton irradiation on InGaN/GaN multiple quantum wells (MQWs) solar cells was investigated. The irradiation degradation of the photoluminescence characteristics of the InGaN film was also measured, indicating its potential to be used in space solar cells. With the proton fluence increasing from 0 to 1 × 1014/cm2, the conversion efficiency (η) of the InGaN/GaN MQWs cell declined from 0.61% to 0.14%. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

The cutlassfish (Trichiurus haumela) is an important commercial fish species. In the present study, we report 12 polymorphic microsatellite DNA markers for cutlassfish. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 2 to 9 in a sample of 26 individuals. Observed and expected heterozygosities per locus varied from 0.2727 to 0.9583 and from 0.4059 to 0.7926, respectively. Two loci (Trha25 and Trha27) showed significant departure from Hardy- Weinberg equilibrium after sequential Bonferroni correction (P<0.0042). No significant linkage disequilibrium between pairs of loci was found. This paper reviews twenty-eight Chinese medicine books with complete prescriptions prior to the Qing Dynasty, and analyzes the characteristics of acupoint selection and needling manipulations from the perspective of apoplectic symptoms. It is concluded that, in ancient times, apoplexy is often treated on the basis of its symptoms and a great number of acupoints are employed; hemiplegia is mainly treated by the acupoints of the Large Intestine Meridian and Gallbladder Meridian, with two key acupoints; coma is mainly treated by first-aid acupoints and qi-supplementing acupoints, with seven key acupoints; wry mouth and convulsion are mainly treated by the local acupoints; as for needling manipulations, moxibustion with moxa cones is principally used, while needling is less used. ZnO thin films were grown on SiO2/Si substrates by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering. Based on the ZnO film, a photoconductive metal-semiconductor-metal ultraviolet detector was fabricated by a liftoff technique.
