VTON (Virtual Try-ON), as an innovative visual application in e-commerce scenarios with great commercial value, has been widely studied in recent years. Due to its better robustness and realistic effect, deformationsynthesize-based VTON has become the dominant approach in this field. Existing clothing deformation techniques optimize the mapping relations between the original clothing image and the ground truth (GT) image of theworn clothing. However, there are color differences between the original and GT clothing images caused by lighting, warping, and occlusion. The color differences may lead to misaligned clothing mapping by only minimizing the cost of pixel value difference. Another drawback is that taking the parsing prediction as GT will bring alignment remnant, rooting in the processing order of parsing and deformation. Aiming above two drawbacks, we put forward SAME-VTON (Self-Adaptive clothing Mapping basEd Virtual Try-ON) for achieving realistic virtual try-on results. The core of SAME-VTON is the self-adaptive clothing mapping technique, composed of two parts: a color-adaptive clothing mapping module and a parsing-adaptive prediction process. In the color-adaptive clothing mapping module, we map each pixel of the target clothing with a combination of multiple pixel values from the original clothing image, which considers both the position and color changes. Furthermore, different combination weights are learned to increase the diversity of color mapping. In the parsing-adaptive prediction process, the color-adaptive clothing mapping module is adopted to deform clothing first, then the human parsing result is predicted under the reference of the deformed clothing, which can avoid alignment remnant. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed SAME-VTON with the self-adaptive clothing mapping technique can achieve optimal mapping in the case of large color differences and obtain superior results compared with existing deformation-synthesize-based VTON. Hypoxia represent a condition in which an adequate amount of oxygen supply is missing in the body, and it could be caused by a variety of diseases, including gastrointestinal disorders. This review is focused on the role of hypoxia in the maintenance of the gut homeostasis and related treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. The effects of hypoxia on the gut microbiome and its role on the intestinal barrier functionality are also covered, together with the potential role of hypoxia in the development of gastrointestinal disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome. Finally, we discussed the potential of hypoxia-targeted interventions as a novel therapeutic approach for gastrointestinal disorders. In this review, we highlighted the importance of hypoxia in the maintenance of the gut homeostasis and the potential implications for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Recent investigations show that dietary consumption of flavonoids could potentially confer neuroprotective effects through a variety of direct and indirect mechanisms. Numerous flavonoids have been shown to cross the BBB and accumulate within the central nervous system (CNS). Some of these compounds purportedly counteract the accumulation and deleterious effects of reactive oxygen species, fostering neuronal survival and proliferation by inhibiting neuroinflammatory and oxidative stress responses. Moreover, several studies suggest that gut microbiota may participate in regulating brain function and host behavior through the production and modulation of bioactive metabolites. Flavonoids may shape gut microbiota composition by acting as carbon substrates to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria that produce these neuroprotective metabolites, consequently antagonizing or suppressing potential pathogens. By influencing the microbiota-gut-brain axis through this selection process, flavonoids may indirectly improve brain health. Polysaccharides derived from plants, algae, or fungi serve as the major components of some human diets. Polysaccharides have been shown to exhibit diverse biological activities in improving human health, and have also been proposed to function as potent modulators of gut microbiota composition, thus playing a bi-directional regulatory role in host health. Here, we review a variety of polysaccharide structures potentially linked to biological functions, and cover current research progress in characterizing their pharmaceutical effects in various disease models, including antioxidant, anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, hypoglycemic, and antimicrobial activities. We also highlight the effects of polysaccharides on modulating gut microbiota via enrichment for beneficial taxa and suppression of potential pathogens, leading to increased microbial expression of carbohydrate-active enzymes and enhanced short chain fatty acid production. This review also discusses polysaccharide-mediated improvements in gut function by influencing interleukin and hormone secretion in host intestinal epithelial cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Most drug-eluting stents (DESs) inhibit intimal hyperplasia but impair re-endothelialization. This study aimed to evaluate in vivo strut coverage and neointimal growth in a new glycyrrhizin acid (GA)-eluting stent. Methods: New Zealand White rabbits (n = 20) with atherosclerotic plaques were randomly divided into three groups based on implanted iliac artery stents: baremetal stents (BMSs), rapamycin-eluting stents, and GA-eluting stents. After the in vivo intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) assessment at 28 days, the vessels were harvested for scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and histology. After 4 weeks of follow-up, the stent and external elastic lamina (EEL) areas were compared among the groups. Results: The rapamycin- or GA-eluting stents significantly reduced the neointimal area compared with BMSs, though GA-eluting stents had the lowest reduction. There were more uncovered struts for rapamycin-eluting stents than those for GA-eluting stents and bare-metal stents. The endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) expression in GA-eluting stents was much higher than that in BMSs and rapamycin-eluting stents, even though the endothelial coverage between struts was equivalent between BMSs and GA-eluting stents. Moreover, GA-eluting stents markedly promoted re-endothelialization and improved arterial healing compared to rapamycin-eluting stents in a rabbit atherosclerotic model. The grassland in the Qinghai--Tibetan plateau provide habitat for many indigenous and introduced ruminants which perform important ecological functions that impact the whole Qinghai--Tibetan plateau ecosystem. These indigenous Tibetan ruminants have evolved several adaptive traits to withstand the severe environmental conditions, especially cold, low oxygen partial pressure, high altitude, strong UV radiation, and poor forage availability on the alpine rangelands. Despite the challenges to husbandry associated with the need for enhanced adaptation, several domesticated ruminants have also been successfully introduced to the alpine pasture regions to survive in the harsh environment. For ruminants, these challenging conditions affect not only the host, but also their commensal microbiota, especially the diversity and composition of the rumen microbiota; multiple studies have described tripartite interactions among host-environment-rumen microbiota. Thus, there are significant benefits to understanding the role of rumen microbiota in the indigenous and introduced ruminants of the Qinghai--Tibetan plateau, which has co-evolved with the host to ensure the availability of specific metabolic functions required for host survival, health, growth, and development. In this report, we systemically reviewed the dynamics of rumen microbiota in both indigenous and introduced ruminants (including gut microbiota of wild ruminants) as well as their structure, functions, and interactions with changing environmental conditions, especially low food availability, that enable survival at high altitudes. We summarized that three predominant driving factors including increased VFA production, enhanced fiber degradation, and lower methane production as indicators of higher efficiency energy harvest and nutrient utilization by microbiota that can sustain the host during nutrient deficit. These cumulative studies suggested alteration of rumen microbiota structure and functional taxa with genes that encode cellulolytic enzymes to potentially enhance nutrient and energy harvesting in response to low quality and quantity forage and cold environment. Future progress toward understanding ruminant adaptation to high altitudes will require the integration of phenotypic data with multi-omics analyses to identify host-microbiota co-evolutionary adaptations enabling survival on the Qinghai--Tibetan plateau. The present study evaluated risk factors related to persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) at discharge (AF-d) and recurrent atrial fibrillation (rAF) and all-cause death after the maze IV procedure. Two hundred nineteen patients (63 female, aged 52.5 ± 8.8 years) with valve disease and persistent AF undergoing valve surgery and the maze IV procedure in our center between 2015 and 2016 were included. Baseline demographic and clinical data were obtained by review of medical records. The median follow-up period was 27 months (interquartile range 21-34 months) in our patient cohort. The primary end point was all-cause death. The secondary end point was AF-d or rAF. rAF is defined as AF recurrence at 3 months or later after the procedure. Twenty-eight patients (12.8%) died during follow-up. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that thrombocytopenia, elevated serum total bilirubin level, a larger right atrium, AF-d, and rAF were independent determinants for all-cause death after the maze IV procedure after adjustment for age, sex, and clinical covariates, including New York Heart Association class III/IV disease, hypertension, and aortic regurgitation, while valvular disease duration and left atrial diameter greater than 80.5 mm were independent determinants for AF-d, and thrombocytopenia, elevated serum total bilirubin level, higher mean pulmonary artery pressure, and AF-d were independent predictors for rAF. In conclusion, thrombocytopenia, elevated serum total bilirubin level, an enlarged right atrium, AF-d, and rAF are independent predictors of all-cause death in patients undergoing the maze IV procedure. BACKGROUND: The ultrasensitive monitoring strategy of zearalenone (ZEN) is essential and desirable for food safety and human health. In the present study, a coupling of gold nanoparticles-DNA barcode and direct competitive immunoassay-based real-time polymerase chain reaction signal amplification (RT-IPCR) for ZEN close to the sensitivity of PCR-like levels is described and evaluated. RESULTS: The RT-IPCR benefited from the use of a DNA barcode and RT-PCR detection strategy, thus resulting in ultrasensitive and simple detection for ZEN. Under the optimal RT-IPCR, the linear range of detection was from 0.5 to 1000 pg mL-1 and the limit of detection was 0.5 pg mL-1, which was 400-fold lower than the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The detection procedure was simplified and the detection time was shortened. The specificity, accuracy and precision of the RT-IPCR confirmed a high performance. ZEN-positive contamination levels were from 0.056 to 152.12 ng g-1 by the RT-IPCR, which was demonstrated to be highly reliable by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. CONCLUSION: The proposed RT-IPCR could be used as an alternative for detecting ZEN with satisfactory ultrasensitivity, simplicity, low cost and high-throughput. The present study could provide a strategy for the ultrasensitive detection of the small molecule with a simple and practical approach, which has significant appeal and application prospects. To promote the activity and stability of immobilized porcine pancreatic lipase (PPL), novel carrier was combined with special immobilization method. Enzymatic activity was enhanced after immobilized onto ionic liquid modified magnetic Fe3O4 by electrostatic adsorption. Activity of immobilized enzyme (PPL-IM/BF4-Fe3O4@CA) reached 596 U/g PPL. Through the combination of electrostatic adsorption and embedding immobilization methods, we improve binding force between the carrier and enzyme, and further enhance the efficiency and stability of immobilized enzyme. The activity of PPL-IM/BF4-Fe3O4@CA after repeated third use was 78%. After storage at room temperature for 5 days, the residual activity was 89%. Enzymatic properties and catalytic kinetics of immobilized enzymes were studied, and the effect mechanism of ionic liquid modified Fe3O4 on PPL was revealed. The effect of ionic liquid on the carrier structure was investigated by characterization of XRD, FT-IR, SEM and TG. The mechanism and enzymatic properties of immobilized PPL via electrostatic adsorption and embedding were analyzed. A novel and efficient immobilized PPL was developed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Leptin is an adipocyte-derived hormone and maintains adipose function under challenged conditions. Autophagy is also essential to maintain cellular homeostasis and regulate characteristics of adipose tissue. However, the effects of leptin on autophagy of adipocyte remain elusive. Here, we demonstrated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and leptin were correlated with autophagy and inflammation by transcriptome sequencing of adipose tissue. Leptin-mediated inhibition of autophagy was involved in upstream reduction of ER stress proteins such as Chop, GRP78, and Atf4, since blockage of autophagy using pharmacological approach had no effect on tunicamycin-induced ER stress. Moreover, we determined KLF4, the potential transcriptional factor of Atf4, was required for the leptin-mediated autophagy in the regulation of adipocyte inflammation. Importantly, ATF4 physically interacted with ATG5 and subsequently formed a complex to promote adipocyte autophagy. Further analysis revealed that Atg5, a core component of autophagosome, was the target for leptin-mediate autophagy. In addition, leptin alleviated ER stress-induced inflammation by reducing autophagy-mediated degradation of IκB in adipocytes. Exogenous leptin treatment also ameliorated autophagy and inflammation of white adipose tissue in ob/ob mice. Taken together, our results indicated that leptin inhibited ER stress-mediated autophagy and inflammation through the negatively regulation of Atf4/Atg5 complex in adipocytes. The emergence of drug-resistant tuberculosis is challenging tuberculosis control worldwide. In the absence of an effective vaccine to prevent primary infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis and tuberculosis disease, hostdirected therapies may offer therapeutic options, particularly for patients with multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis where prognosis is often limited. CD8+ and CD4+ T cells mediate antigen-specific adaptive cellular immune responses. Their use in precision immunotherapy in clinical conditions, especially in treating cancer as well as for prevention of life-threatening viral infections in allogeneic transplant recipients, demonstrated safety and clinical efficacy. We review key achievements in T-cell therapy, including the use of recombinant immune recognition molecules (eg, T-cell receptors and CD19 chimeric antigen receptors), and discuss its potential in the clinical management of patients with drug-resistant and refractory tuberculosis failing conventional therapy. Cardiovascular disease associated with oxidative stress, including atherosclerosis, is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. The accelerated proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells are the predominant characteristics of atherogenesis, and endothelial dysfunction is a major risk factor for the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Podocalyxin (PODXL), a type I member of the cluster of differentiation 34 family of sialomucins, functions as a pro-adhesive molecule. Emerging evidence has revealed the importance of micro (mi)RNAs in the cardiovascular system. The present study demonstrated that there was an inverse association between miRNA (miR)-125b and PODXL in human umbilical vein endothelial cells and human aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (HAVSMCs) treated with oxidized low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and platelet derived growth factor. Additionally, miR-125b had a suppressive function in cell proliferation and migration, at least partially via targeting PODXL in the HAVSMCs. Furthermore, the data suggested that the functions of miR-125b in arteriosclerosis obliterans may be associated with transgelin, lectin-type oxidized LDL receptor-1, vascular endothelial-cadherin, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, interleukin-6 and monocyte chemotactic protein-1. In conclusion, miR-125b was found to be important in arteriosclerosis obliterans by suppressing the expression of PODXL and may serve as a potential therepeutic target for the treatment of arteriosclerosis obliterans. MicroRNAs are small non-coding RNAs that partially bind to the 3' untranslated (3'UTR) regions of target genes in animals and regulate protein production of the target transcripts. MiR-103 has been confirmed to play a critical role in lipid metabolism, however, the target genes and signaling pathway regulated by miR-103 is still unclear. In our experiment, we observed a positive function of miR-103 on the adipogenic differentiation of 3T3-L1 pre-adipocyte. Furthermore, we proved that this function of miR-103 worked through activating AKT/mTOR signal pathway and impairing target gene MEF2D. By inhibiting and over-expressing the MEF2D gene, we found that MEF2D had a negative role in regulating adipocyte key genes, and this function of MEF2D could be impaired by miR-103. In conclusion, we found that miR-103 can promote 3T3-L1 cells differentiation by targeting MEF2D and activating AKT/mTOR signal pathway. These results will shed a light on further study of microRNAs. Background: In the European Union (EU), the use of diniconazole-M is no longer authorized. However, residues of diniconazole-M occur in various plant commodities. Methodology/Principal Findings: A selective and simple analytical method for the trace level determination of diniconazole in soil, fruit, vegetables and water samples was developed based on immunoaffinity extraction followed by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the high-erformance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis. The ELISA was based on monoclonal antibodies highly specific to diniconazole and was a fast, cost-effective, and selective screening method for the detection of diniconazole. The results of the ELISA correlated well with gas chromatography (GC) results, with the correlation coefficient of 0.9879 (n = 19). A simple gel permeation chromatography clean-up method was developed to purify extracts from matrices containing high amounts of fat and natural pigments, without the need for a large dilution of the sample. The immunoaffinity column (IAC) capacity was 0.180 mg g-1. The columns could be re-used approximately 20 times with no significant alteration in capacity. The recoveries from complex samples were in the range of 89.2% to 96.1% with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.770%-6.11% by ELISA. The results were in good agreement with those obtained by HPLC method. Conclusion/Significance: The IAC extraction procedure coupled with HPLC and ELISA analysis could be also used as alternative effective analytical methods for the determination of diniconazole concentrations in complex samples. Hanjiangite, ideal formula Ba2Ca(V3+Al)[Si32AlO10(OH) 2]F(CO3)2, is a new mineral found in the Shiti barium deposit in the Dabashan region, China. Hanjiangite was collected from lenticular witheriteore bodies and witherite-barite-quartz veins cutting carbonaceous slates. It is found as disseminations in both settings. It occurs as thin, euhedral, tetragonal, tabular crystals, and anhedral grains. Grain size commonly varies from 0.05 to 4 mm and occasionally reaches 15 mm. It is yellow-green or dark green, with one well-developed or perfect cleavage on {001}. Other physical properties are: brittle, transparent to translucent, nonfluorescent, vitreous luster, greenish white streak, hardness 4 in the Mohs scale, splintery fracture, and a measured density of 3.69 g/cm³. Hanjiangite is biaxial (-), α = 1.615, β = 1.655, γ = 1.700 (589 nm), and displays strong pleochroism from pale yellow-green to dark green. It is monoclinic, with unit-cell parameters refined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction: a = 5.2050(12), b = 9.033(2), c = 32.077(8) Å, β = 93.49(8)°, V = 1505.4(8) ų, Z = 4, space group C2. The strongest seven lines of the X-ray powder-diffraction pattern [d in Å(I)(hkl)] are: 15.866(7)(002), 5.340(91 )(006), 4.010(10)(1̅14), 3.209(23) (027), 2.676(100) (1̅1 10), 2.294(29)(1̅37), and 2.008(11)(2̅28). Chemical analysis by a combination of electron microprobe, HF combustion, IR absorption, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and crystal-structure refinement gives SiO219.64, TiO21.12,Al2O3 11.19, MgO 0.54, CaO 4.91,BaO 34.89, V2O3 9.93, Cr2O3 1.75, Na2O 0.20, K2O 0.06, MnO 0.01, FeO 0.02, NiO 0.01, SrO 0.34, Y2O3 0.85, La2O3 0.14, Nd2O3 0.26,F1. 80, Cl 0.04, CO2 10.37, H2O 1.30, F = O -0.76, Cl = O -0.01, sum 98.60 wt%. The empirical formula is (Ba1.98 Na0.06 K0.01)Σ0.05(Ca0.76 Mg0.12 Y0.06 Sr0.03 La0.01 Nd0.01)Σ0.99 per formula unit. A single-crystal X-ray structure determination (sample 2005st-17) was carried out with a Smart APEX CCD system using MoKα (λ = 0.71073 Å) radiation. The structure was solved using direct methods, and refined with the SHELXTL PC (Bruker AXS Inc.) package. Anisotropic refinement using all measured independent data and reflections with I > 2σ(I) resulted in an R1 factor of 0.08 and wR² of 0.20. The crystal structure is composed of alternating T-O-T and Ba2Ca(CO3)2F layers. The Ba2Ca(CO3)2F layer occurs between the T-O-T layers. The T site contains both Si and Al, and the O site both V3+ and Al. The interlayer hosts not only Ba (like in chernykhite) but also Ca atoms and (CO3) groups. While the coordination of the cations in the TOT layer is obvious, the coordinations of Ca and Ba in the interlayer are not straight forward.
