The structured sand presents significant interparticle bonding and anisotropy, resulting in significant differences in the physical and mechanical properties from the pure sand. This study proposes a new surrogate model based on the concept of multi‐fidelity residual neural network (MR‐NN) as an alternative to DEM simulation for predicting the mechanical behaviours of structured sand with different initial anisotropy and saving largely computational costs. The model is initially trained using low‐fidelity (LF) data to focus on capturing the main underpinning correlations between macroscopic mechanical parameters with inter‐particle properties and anisotropic state variables (i.e., microscopic fabric and tilting angle of sand), where the LF data are generated from previously proposed anisotropic macro‐micro quantitative correlation. Subsequent training on sparser high‐fidelity (HF) data is used to calibrate and refine the model with HF data generated from DEM simulations for anisotropic structured sand. Feedforward neural network (FNN) is adopted as the baseline algorithm for training models. The macroscopic anisotropic parameters of structured sand predicted by the surrogate model are compared with DEM simulations to examine its feasibility and generalization ability. Furthermore, the robustness of the surrogate model is examined by discussing the effect of LF data on the performance of MR‐NN. The superiority of the MR‐NN is further verified by comparing the performance of the trained MR‐NN with the one‐shot trained FNN based on the same HF data. Introduction: Endometriosis (EM) is a chronic estrogen-dependent condition characterized by the growth of endometrial-like tissue outside the uterus, posing a significant burden on reproductive-aged women. Previous research has shown a correlation between gut microbiota dysbiosis and interleukin-17A (IL-17A) in EM patients. IL-17A, a promising immunomodulatory molecule, exerts dual roles in human physiology, driving inflammatory diseases. However, the functions and origins of IL-17A in EM remain poorly characterized. Methods: Single-cell data analysis was employed to characterize IL-17A activity in EM lesions. Fecal microbiota transplantation was conducted to explore the impact of gut microbiota on EM. Gut microbiota and bile acid metabolism were assessed via 16S rRNA sequencing and targeted metabolomics. Th17 cell proportions were measured using flow cytometry. Results: High expression of IL-17 receptor A (IL-17RA) was observed in myeloid cell subpopulations within EM lesions and may be involved in the migration and recruitment of inflammatory cells in lesions. Elevated IL-17A levels were further validated in peritoneal and follicular fluids of EM patients. Dysregulated bile acid levels, particularly elevated chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) and ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), were found in the gut and peritoneal fluid of EM mouse models. Additional CDCA administration reduced EM lesions and modulated Th17 cell proportions, while UDCA showed no significant effects. Discussion: Our findings shed light on the origins and functions of IL-17A in EM, implicating its involvement in lesion migration and recruitment. Neurons are post‐mitotic cells, with microtubules playing crucial roles in axonal transport and growth. Kinesin family member 2c (KIF2C), a member of the Kinesin‐13 family, possesses the ability to depolymerize microtubules and is involved in remodelling the microtubule lattice. Myocyte enhancer factor 2c (MEF2C) was initially identified as a regulator of muscle differentiation but has recently been associated with neurological abnormalities such as severe cognitive impairment, stereotyping, epilepsy and brain malformations when mutated or deleted. However, further investigation is required to determine which target genes MEF2C acts upon to influence neuronal function as a transcription regulator. Our data demonstrate that knockdown of both Mef2c and Kif2c significantly impacts spinal motor neuron development and behaviour in zebrafish. Luciferase reporter assays and chromosome immunoprecipitation assays, along with down/upregulated expression analysis, revealed that MFE2C functions as a novel transcription regulator for the Kif2c gene. Additionally, the knockdown of either Mef2c or Kif2c expression in E18 cortical neurons substantially reduces the number of primary neurites and axonal branches during neuronal development in vitro without affecting neurite length. Finally, depletion of Kif2c eliminated the effects of overexpression of Mef2c on the neurite branching. Based on these findings, we provided novel evidence demonstrating that MEF2C regulates the transcription of the Kif2c gene thereby influencing the axonal branching. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Using the microstructural mechanics approach, the macroscopic anisotropic failure criteria expressed in closed form by the microscopic parameters are derived for regularly arranged elliptical particle assemblies. The close-packed, elliptical particle assembly is equivalent to a lattice model that is described by a lattice beam system, and the Mohr–Coulomb-like shear failure criterion is applied to describe the beam breakages. Through mechanical analysis of the instability state of the unit cell of the lattice beam system, macroscopic anisotropic strength criteria and the corresponding strength parameters, which are expressed by microscopic parameters and the tilting angle, are proposed. The macroscopic failure characteristics and strength parameters are qualitatively consistent with the results of the discrete element method (DEM), and the influences of the microscopic parameters and tilting angle on the macroscopic strength parameters are investigated in detail according to the proposed theoretical results. The applicability of the theoretical results to randomly distributed particles is explored by DEM simulation of irregularly arranged particles, and the deviation are also systematically discussed. In this letter, a novel single parity check‐aided minimum sum (SPC‐aided MS) algorithm is proposed. A cascaded compiled code scheme is used to approximate the adaptive belief propagation (ABP) algorithm for Reed–Solomon (RS) codes using the min sum (MS) algorithm. The computational complexity is greatly reduced compared with the previous algorithm. Simulation results show that the SPC‐aided MS algorithm can achieve coding gains of up to 1.1, 0.7, and 0.6 dB for RS (255,239) code compared with the conventional ABP, LRBP, and HD‐P‐ABP algorithms, respectively under the condition of FER=10−3$\text{FER}=10^{-3}$. Background: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) has been recognized as an effective therapeutic option for locally advanced gastric cancer as it is expected to reduce tumor size, increase the resection rate, and improve overall survival. However, for patients who are not responsive to NAC, the best operation timing may be missed together with suffering from side effects. Therefore, it is paramount to differentiate potential respondents from non-respondents. Histopathological images contain rich and complex data that can be exploited to study cancers. We assessed the ability of a novel deep learning (DL)-based biomarker to predict pathological responses from images of hematoxylin and eosin (H&E)-stained tissue. Methods: In this multicentre observational study, H&E-stained biopsy sections of patients with gastric cancer were collected from four hospitals. All patients underwent NAC followed by gastrectomy. The Becker tumor regression grading (TRG) system was used to evaluate the pathologic chemotherapy response. Based on H&E-stained slides of biopsies, DL methods (Inception-V3, Xception, EfficientNet-B5, and ensemble CRSNet models) were employed to predict the pathological response by scoring the tumor tissue to obtain a histopathological biomarker, the chemotherapy response score (CRS). The predictive performance of the CRSNet was evaluated. Results: 69,564 patches from 230 whole-slide images of 213 patients with gastric cancer were obtained in this study. Based on the F1 score and area under the curve (AUC), an optimal model was finally chosen, named the CRSNet model. Using the ensemble CRSNet model, the response score derived from H&E staining images reached an AUC of 0.936 in the internal test cohort and 0.923 in the external validation cohort for predicting pathological response. The CRS of major responders was significantly higher than that of minor responders in both internal and external test cohorts (both p < 0.001). Conclusion: In this study, the proposed DL-based biomarker (CRSNet model) derived from histopathological images of the biopsy showed potential as a clinical aid for predicting the response to NAC in patients with locally advanced GC. Accurate four-hour-ahead PV power prediction is crucial to the utilization of PV power. Conventional methods focus on using historical data directly. This paper addresses this issue from a new perspective of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) optimization. This paper refers to the predicted PV power given by NWP minus the actual PV power as PV NWP error, analyzes the temporal statistical characteristics of PV NWP error time series through the Ljung-Box test and autocorrelation function, reveals the significant temporal autocorrelation in PV NWP error and verifies the statistical predictability of PV NWP error for the first time. Meanwhile, this paper introduces transfer entropy to verify that introducing multiple meteorological variables including temperature, solar irradiation, clear-sky solar irradiation, cloud thickness, etc. can help predict future PV NWP error better for the first time. Based on the fusion of multiple meteorological variables and artificial neural networks, this paper proposes multiple meteorological variables-aided PV NWP error correction to realize more accurate four-hour-ahead PV power prediction for the first time. Kernel density estimation is used to obtain the probabilistic forecast results. Through experiments in three-year actual data of Brussels, the superiorities of the proposed method and the significant improvement over conventional methods are verified. In comparison to the original NWP method, the proposed approach demonstrates significant improvements in accuracy. Specifically, it achieves a reduction in mean absolute error ranging from 25.04% to 48.12% for 1–4 step predictions, 14.80% to 21.27% for 5–8 step predictions, 6.40% to 11.10% for 9–12 step predictions, and 2.18% to 4.45% for 13–16 step predictions. Purpose: Plant-based diets, particularly when rich in healthy plant foods, have been associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. However, the impact of plant-based diets that distinguish between healthy and unhealthy plant foods on cardiometabolic biomarkers remains unclear. Methods: Dietary information was collected by two 24-h recalls among 34,785 adults from a nationwide cross-sectional study. Plasma levels of insulin, C-peptide, glucose, C-reactive protein (CRP), white blood cell (WBC) count, triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured. Linear regression was used to evaluate the percentage difference in plasma marker concentrations by three plant-based diet indices, namely the overall plant-based diet index (PDI), the healthful PDI (hPDI), and the unhealthful PDI (uPDI). Results: Greater hPDI-adherence scores (comparing extreme quartiles) were associated with lower levels of insulin, Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR), TG/HDL-C ratio, CRP, WBC count, and TG, and higher levels of HDL-C, with the percentage differences of – 14.55, – 15.72, – 11.57, – 14.95, – 5.26, – 7.10, and 5.01, respectively (all Ptrend ≤ 0.001). Conversely, uPDI was associated with higher levels of insulin, C-peptide, HOMA-IR, TG/HDL-C ratio, CRP, WBC count, and TG, but lower HDL-C, with the percentage differences of 13.71, 14.00, 14.10, 10.43, 3.32, 8.00, and – 4.98 (all Ptrend ≤ 0.001), respectively. Overall PDI was only associated with lower levels of CRP and WBC count (all Ptrend ≤ 0.001). Conclusion: Our findings suggest that hPDI may have positive, whereas uPDI may have negative impacts on multiple cardiometabolic risk markers, and underscore the need to consider the quality of plant foods in future PDI studies. Harnessing commonsense knowledge poses a significant challenge for machine comprehension systems. This paper primarily focuses on incorporating a specific subset of commonsense knowledge, namely, script knowledge. Script knowledge is about sequences of actions that are typically performed by individuals in everyday life. Our experiments were centered around the MCScript dataset, which was the basis of the SemEval-2018 Task 11: Machine Comprehension using Commonsense Knowledge. As a baseline, we utilized our Three-Way Attentive Networks (TriANs) framework to model the interactions among passages, questions, and answers. Building upon the TriAN, we proposed to: (1) integrate a pre-trained language model to capture script knowledge; (2) introduce multi-layer attention to facilitate multi-hop reasoning; and (3) incorporate positional embeddings to enhance the model's capacity for event-ordering reasoning. Consumers today are increasingly willing to reduce their meat consumption and adopt plant-based alternatives in their diet. As a main source of plant-based foods, cereals and legumes (CLs) together could make up for all the essential nutrients that humans consume daily. However, the consumption of CLs and their derivatives is facing many challenges, such as the poor palatability of coarse grains and vegetarian meat, the presence of anti-nutritional factors, and allergenic proteins in CLs, and the vulnerability of plant-based foods to microbial contamination. Recently, high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) technology has been used to tailor the techno-functionality of plant proteins and induce cold gelatinization of starch in CLs to improve the edible quality of plant-based products. The nutritional value (e.g., the bioavailability of vitamins and minerals, reduction of anti-nutritional factors of legume proteins) and bio-functional properties (e.g., production of bioactive peptides, increasing the content of γ-aminobutyric acid) of CLs were significantly improved as affected by HHP. Moreover, the food safety of plant-based products could be significantly improved as well. HHP lowered the risk of microbial contamination through the inactivation of numerous microorganisms, spores, and enzymes in CLs and alleviated the allergy symptoms from consumption of plant-based foods. Smartphone addiction has become an urgent problem for college students. Teacher-student relationships are important factors affecting smartphone addiction, but the mechanism is not clear, and the subjects of the most existing studies are primary and secondary school students. Therefore, this study developed and tested a model of teacher-student relationships and smartphone addiction of college students. It further investigated the mediating effect of achievement goal orientation and the moderating effect of psychological resilience. This study recruited 598 Chinese college students from freshmen to seniors, aging from 17 to 25, with the help of the Teacher-Student Relationships Questionnaire, Achievement Goal Oriented Questionnaire, Psychological Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and Smartphone Addiction Scale for College Students (SAS-C) questionnaire, which are completed during the period of their computer experiments. The results indicated that, (a) after controlling the factors of gender, age, grade etc., teacher-student relationships exerted negative prediction on smartphone addiction. (b) Achievement goal orientation played a partial mediating role in the relationship between teacher-student relationships and smartphone addiction of college students. (c) The relationship between teacher-student relationships and smartphone addiction was moderated by psychological resilience — for college students with high psychological resilience teacher-student relationships had a more prominent negative effect on smartphone addiction. Low-cost and high-performance electrocatalysts are crucial for water-splitting reactions. Some non-precious metal electrocatalysts are proved to be good replacements for noble metal due to the unique electronic structure features and excellent performance. In this work, binary Ni-Co-based layered double hydroxide nanoneedle arrays electrocatalysts are synthesized on Ni foam (NF) via a hydrothermal process. The microstructure and the catalytic performance of the catalyst changes significantly by regulating the molar ratio of Ni/Co. The theoretical analysis confirmed that the as-prepared NiCo-LDH nanoneedle arrays reveal a potential behavior in oxygen evolution reaction (OER) at a lower overpotential of 305 mV at 10.0 mA cm−2 and a Tafel slope of 110.38 mV dec−1. The double-layer capacitance (Cdl) is 776 mF cm−2, which indicates that there are many active sites that are exposed on the surface for the electrocatalytic reaction. Copepoda is a large and diverse group of crustaceans, which is widely distributed worldwide. It encompasses roughly 9 orders, whose phylogeny remains unresolved. We sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Sinergasilus major (Markevich, 1940) and used it to explore the phylogeny and mitogenomic evolution of Copepoda. The mitogenome of S. major (14,588 bp) encodes the standard 37 genes as well as a putative control region, and molecular features are highly conserved compared to other Copepoda mitogenomes. Comparative analyses indicated that the nad2 gene has relatively high nucleotide diversity and evolutionary rate, as well as the largest amount of phylogenetic information. These results indicate that nad2 may be a better marker to investigate phylogenetic relationships among closely related species in Copepoda than the commonly used cox1 gene. The sister-group relationship of Siphonostomatoida and Cyclopoida was recovered with strong support in our study. The only topological ambiguity was found within Cyclopoida, which might be caused by the rapid evolution and sparse taxon sampling of this lineage. A capacitive voltage transformer (CVT) is one of the electrical quantities measurement devices, and the state of its internal insulation is the key factor for ensuring the accuracy of its measurement of electrical energy. In view of the fact that the traditional real-time evaluation method of a CVT internal insulation anomaly mainly relies on empirical rules and prior knowledge and lacks the ability to independently mine effective features, an online evaluation method of a CVT internal insulation anomaly based on self-supervised learning is proposed. Firstly, an autoencoder is constructed to extract the residual sequence of the CVT secondary voltage and eliminate the influence of primary voltage fluctuation and power system voltage regulation. Without any prior knowledge, the complex dependence of the residual sequences in time and feature dimensions is learned by using a parallel graph attention layer (GATv2). Finally, a joint optimization based on the prediction and reconstruction model is introduced to obtain the abnormal inference score at each timestamp and realize the evaluation of the CVT internal insulation status. Experimental analysis shows that this method can effectively eliminate the influence of primary voltage fluctuation and power system voltage regulation on the online evaluation of the CVT internal insulation status and independently excavate the abnormal characteristics of the CVT secondary voltage to realize real-time monitoring and early warning of the CVT internal insulation status. As optoelectronic products continue to advance rapidly, the need for effective heat dissipation has become increasingly crucial due to the emphasis on miniaturization and high integration. The vapor chamber is widely used for cooling electronic systems as a passive liquid–gas two-phase high-efficiency heat exchange device. In this paper, we designed and manufactured a new kind of vapor chamber using cotton yarn as the wick material, combined with a fractal pattern layout of leaf veins. A comprehensive investigation was conducted to analyze the performance of the vapor chamber under natural convection circumstances. SEM showed that many tiny pores and capillaries were formed between the cotton yarn fibers, which are very suitable as the wick material of the vapor chamber. Additionally, experimental findings demonstrated the favorable flow and heat transfer characteristics of the cotton yarn wick within the vapor chamber, which makes the vapor chamber have significant heat dissipation capability, compared to the other two vapor chambers; this vapor chamber has a thermal resistance of only 0.43 °C/W at a thermal load of 8.7 W. In addition, the vapor chamber showed good antigravity capability, and its performance did not show significant changes between horizontal and vertical positions; the maximum difference in thermal resistance at four tilt angles is only 0.06 °C/W. This paper also studied the influence of vacuum degree and filling amount on the performance of the vapor chamber. These findings indicate that the proposed vapor chamber provides a promising thermal management solution for some mobile electronic devices and provides a new idea for selecting wick materials for vapor chambers. The Named Data Network (NDN) enables efficient content dissemination through interest-based retrieval, name-based routing, and content caching. In the industrial Internet architecture based on NDN, device identity distribution, identification, resolution, and routing rely on identification resolution technology. However, this approach presents challenges such as cache poisoning, interest packet flood attacks, and black hole attacks. Existing security schemes primarily focused on routing forwarding and verification fail to address critical concerns, including routing environment credibility and data leakage, while exhibiting poor time and space efficiency. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a lightweight behavior auditing scheme using blockchain technology. The scheme utilizes an improved Bloom filter to compress behavioral information like interest and data packets during the identification transmission process. Bacterial meningitis (BM) is the main cause of the central nervous system (CNS) infection and continues to be an important cause of mortality and morbidity. Glutathione (GSH), an endogenous tripeptide antioxidant, has been proved to exert crucial role in reducing superoxide radicals, hydroxyl radicals and peroxynitrites. The purpose of this study is to expand the application scope of GSH via exploring its therapeutic effect on BM caused by Salmonella typhimurium SL1344 and then provide a novel approach for the treatment of BM. The results suggested that intragastric administration of GSH could significantly increase median survival and improve experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis score of BM model mice. However, exogenous GSH did not affect the adhesion, invasion and cytotoxicity of SL1344 to C6, BV2 and primary microglia. Due to the contradiction between the therapeutic and bactericidal effects of GSH, the effect of GSH on blood-brain barrier (BBB) was investigated to explore its action target for the treatment of meningitis. GSH was found to repair the damage of BBB and then prevent the leakage of SL1344 from the brain to the blood circulation. The repaired BBB could also effectively reduce the entry of macrophages and neutrophils into the brain, and significantly reverse the microglia activation induced by SL1344. More importantly, exogenous GSH was proved to reduce mouse brain cell apoptosis by inhibiting the activation of caspase-8 followed by caspase-3, and reversing the up-regulation of ICAD and PARP-1 caused by SL1344. With the development of miniaturized, highly integrated, and multifunctional electronic devices, the heat flow per unit area has increased dramatically, making heat dissipation a bottleneck in the development of the electronics industry. The purpose of this study is to develop a new inorganic thermal conductive adhesive to overcome the contradiction between the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of organic thermal conductive adhesives. In this study, an inorganic matrix material, sodium silicate, was used, and diamond powder was modified to become a thermal conductive filler. The influence of the content of diamond powder on the thermal conductive adhesive properties was studied through systematic characterization and testing. In the experiment, diamond powder modified by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane coupling agent was selected as the thermal conductive filler and filled into a sodium silicate matrix with a mass fraction of 34% to prepare a series of inorganic thermal conductive adhesives. The thermal conductivity of the diamond powder and its content on the thermal conductivity of the adhesive were studied by testing the thermal conductivity and taking SEM photos. In addition, X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and EDS testing were used to analyze the composition of the modified diamond powder surface. Through the study of diamond content, it was found that as the diamond content gradually increases, the adhesive performance of the thermal conductive adhesive first increases and then decreases. The best adhesive performance was achieved when the diamond mass fraction was 60%, with a tensile shear strength of 1.83 MPa. As the diamond content increased, the thermal conductivity of the thermal conductive adhesive first increased and then decreased. The best thermal conductivity was achieved when the diamond mass fraction was 50%, with a thermal conductivity coefficient of 10.32 W/(m·K). The best adhesive performance and thermal conductivity were achieved when the diamond mass fraction was between 50% and 60%. The inorganic thermal conductive adhesive system based on sodium silicate and diamond proposed in this study has outstanding comprehensive performance and is a promising new thermal conductive material that can replace organic thermal conductive adhesives. The results of this study provide new ideas and methods for the development of inorganic thermal conductive adhesives and are expected to promote the application and development of inorganic thermal conductive materials. Perovskite CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) nanocrystals with advantages of high quantum yield, narrow emission peaks, and tunable fluorescence are considered as the next generation of light‐emitting sources. However, fluorescence degradation due to the poor stability of perovskite nanocrystals in moisture, high temperature, and illumination remains one of the greatest challenges in their further development. In this work, a fully dense coating strategy is proposed to improve the overall stability of perovskite nanocrystals, especially under high‐density laser irradiation. A mesoporous silica SiO2 layer is introduced to construct a stable coating for isolating the perovskite from external environment. To eliminate the pores of the CsPbX3@SiO2, an inorganic glass is also employed via solution‐combustion technique to generate a fully compact encapsulation for further stability promotion. The as‐prepared nanocrystal‐in‐glass composite exhibits efficient and stable fluorescence performance in luminous efficiency, chromaticity, and long‐term reliability in the conditions of thermal shock, humidity, and blue laser irradiation. With the integration of red/green/blue emitting nanocrystals, the color gamut of the white laser lighting source covers 134% of the National Television Standards Committee standard, providing exciting opportunity for high performance laser‐driven white light generation. Background: Natronobacterium gregoryi Argonaute (NgAgo) was found to reduce mRNA without generating detectable DNA double-strand breaks in a couple of endogenous genes in zebrafish, suggesting its potential as a tool for gene knockdown. However, little is known about how it interacts with nucleic acid molecules to interfere with gene expression. Results: In this study, we first confirmed that coinjection of NgAgo and gDNA downregulated target genes, generated gene-specific phenotypes and verified some factors (including 5' phosphorylation, GC ratio, and target positions) of gDNAs affecting gene downregulation. Therein, the sense and antisense gDNAs were equally effective, suggesting that NgAgo possibly binds to DNA. NgAgo-VP64 with gDNAs targeting promoters upregulated the target genes, further providing evidence that NgAgo interacts with genomic DNA and controls gene transcription. Finally, we explain the downregulation of NgAgo/gDNA target genes by interference with the process of gene transcription, which differs from that of morpholino oligonucleotides. Due to the complex spatial‐temporal pathophysiology of spinal cord injury (SCI), effective modulation of SCI‐specific inflammatory pathogenesis to achieve desirable therapeutic effects on functional recovery still remains challenging. Herein, cell‐enhanced photocrosslinked silk fibroin hydrogels with extracellular matrix‐mimicking cues of mechanical properties and RGD (Arg‐Gly‐Asp) signals are gelled in situ to fill the lesion site to modulate injury‐induced neuroinflammation and promote neurite regrowth after SCI. The bionic hydrogel system provides biomimetic mechanical cues to promote neuronal differentiation of neural stem/progenitor cells (NPCs) and neurite growth by activating YAP nuclear expression. Importantly, favored by the strong capacity of silk fibroin hydrogels on macrophage/microglia recruitment, NPCs encapsulated hydrogel (NPCs@SFRGD0.1) effectively promotes recruited macrophages/microglia to M2 polarization in the lesion site by releasing S100A4 and thereby remodels the inflammatory microenvironment after SCI. Moreover, NPCs@SFRGD0.1 successfully reduces glial scar formation and accelerates corticospinal tract axon regrowth to improve locomotor recovery. The design of high-performance and low-cost oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts is crucial for environment friendly hydrogen production. Some transition metals have been proven to be good substitutes for noble metals due to their unique electronic structural characteristics and good electrocatalytic performances, with examples including nickel and cobalt, which are usually used to prepare OER electrocatalysts. In this work, we synthesized three-dimensional Ni-Co-Fe ternary layered double hydroxide nanosheet array electrocatalysts via hydrothermal process. Iron element was introduced into the Ni-Co based hydroxide. The ternary layered double hydroxide has a nanoarrays microstructure. Theoretical analysis confirms that by adjusting the ratio of Ni/Co/Fe, the microstructure of the catalyst changes significantly. Attributed to the special nanostructure, the catalysts show superior catalytic activities in oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The results show that a small overpotential of 222 mV at the current density of 20 mA·cm−2 for the OER in 1.0 M KOH is acquired. Broadband near‐infrared (NIR) phosphors have recently received considerable attention in spectroscopy technology fields, but designing inexpensive, emission peaks centered above 800 nm, and multimodal broadband NIR luminescence material still remains a great challenge. Here, by selecting stannate compound Mg2SnO4 (MSO) as the host, a kind of broadband NIR phosphor MSO:Cr3+ with multimode luminescence properties is reported. The designed material exhibits an emission peaking at 800 nm and a full‐width at half maximum of 180 nm (≈2730 cm−1). The site occupation of Cr3+ in MSO is unraveled by density functional theory calculation. The constructed NIR light‐emitting device based on MSO:Cr3+ displays a high NIR output power of 187.19 mW@100 mA and remarkable photoelectric efficiency of 13.67%, and its multifunctional applications in information encryption, non‐destructive detection, and so on are also demonstrated. Additionally, through defect site reconstruction, MSO:Cr3+ presents superior broadband NIR persistent luminescence (PersL) properties with PersL duration time longer than 50 h. This work provides a feasible strategy to develop intelligent optical material integrated with multimodal luminescence through low‐cost stannate compounds as the host toward versatile applications such as non‐destructive detection and bioimaging. We build a simple overlapping generation model to investigate the effect of life expectancy on the real exchange rate where fertility is chosen endogenously. The model reveals that, although the overall effect of life expectancy on the real exchange rate is not certain, longer life expectancy tends to cause the real exchange rate to depreciate by reducing fertility. Fertility thus serves as a mediator in the effect of life expectancy on the real exchange rate. Evidence from 148 economies (1980–2018) shows a statistically significant and robust negative relationship between life expectancy and the real exchange rate. It is estimated that a 1 year increase in life expectancy is associated with a 1.5 percent depreciation in the real exchange rate. The evidence also confirms the mediated effect of fertility. Background: Epstein–Barr virus (EBV)-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) was a unique molecular subtype of gastric cancer (GC). However, the clinicopathological characteristics and prognostic role of EBV infection remains unclear. We aimed to evaluate the clinicopathological features of EBVaGC and its role on prognosis. Methods: EBV-encoded RNA (EBER) in situ hybridization method was used to evaluate the EBV status in GC. The serum tumor markers AFP, CEA, CA19-9 and CA125 of patients were detected before treatment. HER2 expression and microsatellite instability (MSI) status was evaluated according to established criteria. The relationship between EBV infection and clinicopathological factors as well as its role on prognosis were investigated. Results: 420 patients were enrolled in the study and of 53 patients (12.62%) were identified as EBVaGC. EBVaGC was more common in males (p = 0.001) and related to early T stage (p = 0.045), early TNM stage (p = 0.001) and lower level of serum CEA (p = 0.039). No association could be found between EBV infection and HER2 expression, MSI status and other factors (p all > 0.05). Kaplan–Meier analysis revealed that both the overall survival and disease-free survival of EBVaGC patients were similar to that of EBV-negative GC (EBVnGC) patients (p = 0.309 and p = 0.264, respectively). Conclusion: EBVaGC was more common in males and in patients with the early T stage and TNM stage as well as patients with lower serum CEA level. Chemical looping with O2 uncoupling aims at using an oxygen carrier (OC) with O2 uncoupling behaviour to promote fuel conversion. Natural ilmenite ores have been considered highly promising OCs for chemical looping technology; however, they do not possess any O2 uncoupling behaviour. Mn‐modified ilmenite ores as OCs are capable of O2 uncoupling, while most of them are synthesized via complicated procedures by using costly chemicals. In this study, a strategy of calcination treatment on ilmenite ores mixed with manganese ores has been established to introduce Mn into the ilmenite OCs, endowing them with O2 uncoupling behaviour in a simple and low‐cost manner. The O2 uncoupling behaviour from Mn‐modified ilmenite ores is mainly due to the newly formed (Fe1−xMnx)2O3/(Fe1−xMnx)3O4 crystal phases generated during the calcination treatment, which also alleviate the thermodynamic limit of the Mn2O3‐Mn3O4 redox pair. As a result, the Mn‐modified ilmenite ore OCs can release O2 at high temperatures when decreasing the oxygen partial pressure. But more importantly, the reduced OCs can be restored in the air isothermally. This established simple calcination treatment method can be used as a low‐cost strategy for producing ilmenite‐based OCs with O2 uncoupling behaviour. Using a microstructural mechanics approach, the close-packed elliptical particle assembly is first represented by a lattice model that is described by a beam system, and the Mohr–Coulomb (MC) shear failure criterion is used to describe the contact (beam) breakage. Through structural mechanics analysis of the unit cell, macroscopic strength criteria and associated parameters at two anisotropic principal directions are expressed in closed form with respect to the particle shape and microscopic strength parameters while considering the successive breakage of contacts. The macroscopic failure characteristics of elliptical particle assemblies are described by the MC failure criterion, and the macro–micro relations of strength parameters can be directly determined by the proposed expressions. The proposed analytical expressions are confirmed to be accurate due to the good consistency between theoretical and discrete element method (DEM) results based on the regular arrangement. The introduction of the fabric anisotropy parameter extends the applicability of the theoretical results to irregular arrangement cases, and the deviation with more realistic particle assemblies is investigated. The proposed expressions of the macroscopic strength parameters can help us better understand the influence of inherent anisotropy and microscopic properties and provide an alternative approach to determine the microscopic parameters in DEM simulations. Background and Purpose: Although increasing evidence illustrated that the bidirectional communication between the brain and the gut is closely related to the occurrence of various complex diseases. Limited effort has been made to explore the influence of intestinal flora on the risk of ischaemic stroke. The present study aims to identify microbiota and specialized microbiota metabolites related to the occurrence and treatment of ischaemic stroke. Experimental Approach: The role of microbiota in the occurrence and the treatment of ischaemic stroke was evaluated on ischaemia/reperfusion (I/R), pseudo‐germ‐free and faecal transplantation animals. The target microbiota and specialized metabolites were identified by comparing their distribution in flora and metabolomic profiles in ischaemic stroke patients and animals with compared with healthy controls. The effects and mechanisms involved of the targeted metabolites in ischaemic stroke were explored in ischaemia/reperfusion rats, hypoxia/reoxygenation PC12 cells and LPS‐induced inflammatory BV2 cells. Key Results: Both ischaemic stroke patients and I/R rats had significant accumulation of branched‐chain amino acids, which were closely associated with gut microflora dysbiosis and the development of ischaemic stroke. Lactobacillus helveticus (L.hel) and Lactobacillus brevis (L.bre) are identified as the microbiota most affected by ischaemia/reperfusion modelling and treatment. L.hel and L.bre colonization exhibited significant neuroprotective activity and could greatly alleviate the accumulation of branched‐chain amino acids. In addition, branched‐chain amino acid (BCAA) accumulation was shown to exacerbate microglia‐induced neuroinflammation by activating AKT/STAT3/NF‐κB signalling. The rapid development of near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopic techniques has greatly facilitated the exploration of novel broadband NIR-emitting materials as advanced smart NIR light sources. However, the pursuit of high-efficiency and excellent thermal stability photonic materials with broadband NIR emission, especially in the NIR-II region, is still unsatisfactory. Herein, we report the design of a thermally stable Bi-doped germanate glass with tunable broadband NIR emission varying from the NIR-I (850–1050 nm) to NIR-II (850–1500 nm) region upon blue light excitation. The NIR emission peaks varied from 946 to 1142 nm due to conversion in the highly environmentally sensitive Bi NIR active centers, and their emission intensity and lifetimes were >84% at 150 °C due to high structural rigidity and the weak electron–phonon coupling effect. The NIR glass-converted-LEDs generated an output power of 53.2 mW (NIR-LED-I) and 179.5 mW (NIR-LED-II), respectively (at a current of 320 mA). The night vision, bio-imaging, and food quality analysis were also demonstrated, suggesting that Bi-doped glass has great application potential in novel smart compact NIR light sources. Parthenium hysterophorus L., as an invasive plant, has negatively impacted the ecosystem functioning and stability of the terrestrial ecosystem in China. However, little information was available for its effects on microorganisms in the Yellow River Delta (YRD), the biggest newly-formed wetland in China. In the present study, high-throughput sequencing technology was used to obtain the bacterial community in soils and roots of different plant species, including P. hysterophorus and some native ones in the YRD. Our results showed that the Proteobacteria, Acidobacteriota, Gemmatimonadota, and Actinobacteriota were dominant in the rhizosphere soils of P. hysterophorus (84.2%) and Setaria viridis (86.47%), and the bulk soils (80.7%). The Proteobacteria and Actinobacteriota were dominant within the root of P. hysterophorus. A total of 2468 bacterial OTUs were obtained from different groups among which 140 were observed in all the groups; 1019 OTUs were shared by P. hysterophorus non-rhizosphere soil bacteria (YNR) P. hysterophorus rhizosphere soil bacteria (YRR) groups. The indexes of the ACE (823.1), Chao1 (823.19), Simpson (0.9971), and Shannon (9.068) were the highest in the YRR groups, showing the greatest bacterial community diversity. Random forest analysis showed that the Methylomirabilota and Dadabacteria (at the phylum level) and the Sphingomonas, and Woeseia (at the genus level) were identified as the main predictors among different groups. The LEfSe results also showed the essential role of the Acidobacteriota in the YRR group. The SourceTracker analysis of the bacterial community of the YRR group was mainly from GBS groups (average 53.14%) and a small part was from YNR groups (average 6.56%), indicating that the P. hysterophorus invasion had a more significant effect on native plants' rhizosphere microorganisms than soil microorganisms. Background: To compare the CT values and length of the screw tracks of traditional trajectory (TT), cortical bone trajectory (CBT), and modified cortical bone trajectory (MCBT) screws and investigate the effects on the biomechanics of lumbar fixation. Methods: CT scan data of 60 L4 and L5 lumbar spine were retrieved and divided into 4 groups (10 male and 10 female cases in the 20–30 years old group and 20 male and 20 female cases in the 30–40 years old group). 3-dimentional (3D) model were established using Mimics 19.0 for each group and the placement of three techniques was simulated on the L4 and L5, and the part of the bone occupied by the screw track was set as the region of interest (ROI). The mean CT value and the actual length of the screw track were measured by Mimics 19.0. Results: The CT values of ROI for the three techniques were significantly different between the same gander in each age group (P < 0.05). The difference of screw track lengths for CBT and MCBT in the male and female is significant (P < 0.05). Conclusions: According to the CT values of the three screw tracks: MCBT > CBT > TT, the MCBT screw track has greater bone-screw surface strength and longer screw tracks than CBT, which is easier to reach the anterior column of the vertebral body contributing to superior biomechanical properties. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of 2-Cys Prx gene inhibition on photochemical reaction and reactive oxygen species (ROS) metabolism under high temperature (35°C) with low light (HT + LL) or high temperature with high light (HT + HL) in tobacco. The results showed that HT significantly increased the production of O 2 ⋅ − and H2O2 compared with CK (25°C). Particularly, the oxidative damage of RNAi plants was significantly greater than that of wild type (WT) under HT + HL treatment, possibly due to the inhibition of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) activities. HT treatment inhibited the photosystem II (PSII) activity, and the oxygen evolution complex (OEC) was the main injury site. Notably, the photosystem I (PSI) activity of WT and RNAi plants did not change significantly under HT + LL treatment compared with CK. Although the PSI activity of WT and RNAi plants decreased significantly under HT + HL treatment, there was no significant difference between WT and RNAi plants. Collectively, these findings indicate that high light increases the photoinhibition of PSII and PSI and oxidative damage under high-temperature stress. Flexible sensors for high strain sensitivity and dynamic stability are important for the development of human-interactive and health-monitoring devices. However, establishing a stable conductive network with low-conductivity material filling that can resist tensile strain failure and achieve high device performance still faces significant challenges. Herein, a highly stretchable and sensitive strain sensor with strong dynamic stability and low conductive materials filling was fabricated based on highly conductive multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and Fe nanowires (NWs) to construct a porous-designed bi-conducting network using a salt sacrificial template approach. The porous-designed Fe NW/MWCNT strain sensor (PFMS) with low material filling (3.6 wt.% Fe NWs and 10.6 wt.% MWCNTs) showed high sensitivity with a gauge factor (GF) of 134.98 (strain range 0–22%) and 569.37 (strain range 22%–60%), which is much higher compared with the pure MWCNT strain sensor with a GF of 7.46. This is attributed to the significant change in the contact area and contact resistance of the Fe NW/MWCNT bi-conducting network during tensile strain. In addition, the PFMS exhibited high repetitive stability over 2000 stretching-releasing cycles. When attached to the human body, the PFMS functions as a health-monitoring device, that can accurately distinguish human motions such as the bending of fingers, knees, and elbows. Finally, the proposed strategy pens a novel avenue for constructing porous conductive networks using polymer composites and is highly competitive for developing high-performance strain sensors. Objective: This study assessed the cross‐sectional associations of low‐carbohydrate diets (LCDs) and low‐fat diets (LFDs) with hepatic steatosis in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Methods: Diet was measured using the 24‐hour recalls. Hepatic steatosis was defined by vibration‐controlled transient elastography. The odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were estimated using logistic regression. Substitution analysis was performed using the leave‐one‐out model. Results: Participants with higher adherence scores (comparing extreme tertiles) for an overall (OR = 0.76, 95% CI: 0.61‐0.96, ptrend = 0.049) or a healthful LCD (OR = 0.61, 95% CI: 0.43‐0.87, ptrend < 0.001) exhibited lower odds of steatosis. Replacing 5% of the energy from carbohydrates with total fat and protein (OR = 0.91, 95% CI: 0.83‐0.99) or unsaturated fat and plant protein (OR = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.84‐0.94) was associated with lower steatosis prevalence. High overall (OR = 1.65, 95% CI: 1.13‐2.40, ptrend = 0.006) or unhealthful (OR = 1.41, 95% CI: 1.10‐1.80, ptrend < 0.001) LFD scores were associated with increased likelihood of steatosis. Oxygen evolution reaction is a key process in hydrogen production from water splitting. The development of non-noble metal electrode materials with high efficiency and low cost has become the key factor for large-scale hydrogen production. Binary NiCo-layered double hydroxide (LDH) has been used as a non-noble metal electrocatalyst for OER, but its overpotential is still large. The microstructure of the catalyst is tuned by doping Mo ions into the NiCo-LDH/NF nanowires to form ternary NiCoMo-LDH/NF nanosheet catalysts for the purpose of enhancing the active sites and reducing the initial overpotential. Only 1.5 V (vs. reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE), ≈270 mV overpotential) is required to achieve a catalytic current density of 10 mA cm−2 and a small Tafel slope of 81.46 mV dec−1 in 1 M KOH solution, which manifests the best performance of NiCo-based catalysts reported up to now. Electrochemical analysis and micro-morphology show that the high catalytic activity of NiCoMo-LDH/NF is attributable to the change of the microstructure. The interconnected nanosheet arrays have the obvious advantages of electrolyte diffusion and ion migration. Thus, the active sites of catalysts are significantly increased, which facilitates the adsorption and desorption of intermediates. Gold nanorods (AuNRs) possess a high optical nonlinear coefficient, ultrafast optical response speed and widely tunable localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) wavelength covering the visible and near infrared region. Therefore, they are extensively investigated for many optical applications. However, the poor thermal stability of the AuNRs seriously restricts their practical performance. In addition, for many applications, such as optical communication or laser modulation, AuNRs have to be combined with transparent solids, for example polymers, glass or crystals to make devices. Here, we report on the preparation of 0.23 mg AuNR dispersed methyl silicone resin (MSR) with longitudinal LSPR (L-LSPR) wavelength (1450 nm) in the optical communication window. We found that AuNR-silicone composites possess high thermal stability. After calcination in ambient environment at a temperature of 250 °C for 10 h, the L-LSPR peak of the sample can remain longer than 1380 nm, implying that the NR shape of the Au particles was well maintained. Using the open-aperture Z-scan technique, the nonlinear absorption coefficient of the composites was measured as âˆ'11.71 cm GWâˆ'1, higher than many nonlinear materials. Background: Because of special technical challenges, laparoendoscopic single‐site surgery (LESS) has been introduced into surgical practice, with surgeons required to have adequate training. The COVID‐19 pandemic has significantly affected every aspect of healthcare systems, including LESS training, which must be modified to minimize the impact of the COVID‐19 pandemic. Methods: A 3‐session training programme was designed in 2020 during the epidemic, which was modified in 2019 before the pandemic. Session 1 was an online study on LESS knowledge. Session 2 involved the trainees' self‐directed simulator‐training. Task performance was evaluated using the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery (FLS) scoring. Session 3 was practical training, including trainers' live surgical video demonstrations and trainees' surgical video feedback after training. Video feedback performance was evaluated using the modified global rating scale (GRS). Furthermore, trainees completed a general self‐efficacy (GSE) instrument. Forty‐two gynaecology trainees were allocated into two groups: novices (n = 32) and experts (n = 10). Results: Compared with pre‐training, FLS scores improved in peg transfer (P < 0.001 and P = 0.01) and pattern cutting (P = 0.02 and P < 0.001) for novices and experts, respectively. Participants (81% versus 67%) provided first and second video feedback, respectively. Compared to the first feedback, the GRS scores of both groups improved significantly in the second feedback. All trainees showed an increase in GSE after training (P < 0.001). Endometriosis (EM) is a common chronic inflammatory disease in women. Sampson's retrograde menstruation theory is the most widely accepted theory of EM pathogenesis. The periodic bleeding of ectopic lesions is an important pathological feature of this disease, and the occurrence and progression of EM are closely associated with the iron overload caused by ectopic lesions. However, animal models that simulate menstrual-blood reflux and hemorrhage from EM lesions are lacking. In this study, we performed intraperitoneal injection of endometrial fragments and periodic intraperitoneal blood injection to simulate the real cause and disease state of EM and successfully constructed a mouse model of EM iron overload. Our research found that the number, size, and degree of adhesion of EM lesions in the iron-overload model mouse were significantly higher than those in the model mouse. Moreover, the iron concentration in the abdominal fluid and ovary significantly increased, and the level of malondialdehyde (MDA) in the ovary increased. Conversely, GPX4, GSH, and other anti-ferroptosis-related proteins were downregulated, proving the occurrence of ferroptosis. Huayu Jiedu Fang (HYJDF) is an empirical prescription for EM treatment. This study combined animal experiments, UHPLC-QE-MS analysis, and network pharmacology to analyze whether HYJDF can inhibit ferroptosis to slow down the progression of EM and protect ovarian function. Based on the constructed iron-overload model, HYJDF can reduce the volume of EM lesions and the degree of adhesion, downregulate the total iron concentration in the peritoneal fluid and ovary, upregulate GPX4 expression and GSSG in the ovary, downregulate the level of MDA in the ovary, and promote the development of follicles. We further confirmed that HYJDF can inhibit the progression of EM disease and improve the ovarian function of the model mouse by inhibiting ferroptosis. Finally, through UHPLC-QE-MS and network pharmacology analysis, the natural compounds in HYJDF were identified and verified and the regulatory effect of HYJDF on the EM ferroptosis pathway through the IL-6/hepcidin pathway was preliminarily elucidated. With the rapid development of wearable smart electronic products, high-performance wearable flexible strain sensors are urgently needed. In this paper, a flexible strain sensor device with Fe NWs/Graphene/PEDOT:PSS material added under a porous structure was designed and prepared. The effects of adding different sensing materials and a different number of dips with PEDOT:PSS on the device performance were investigated. The experiments show that the flexible strain sensor obtained by using Fe NWs, graphene, and PEDOT:PSS composite is dipped in polyurethane foam once and vacuum dried in turn with a local linearity of 98.8%, and the device was stable up to 3500 times at 80% strain. The high linearity and good stability are based on the three-dimensional network structure of polyurethane foam, combined with the excellent electrical conductivity of Fe NWs, the bridging and passivation effects of graphene, and the stabilization effect of PEDOT:PSS, which force the graphene-coated Fe NWs to adhere to the porous skeleton under the action of PEDOT:PSS to form a stable three-dimensional conductive network. The disposal of fly ash with high salt content has become an important bottleneck for the further application of municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI). In this study, the soluble salt content and composition of fly ash from different MSWI were analysed. The composition of fly ash was affected by incinerator type and flue gas cleaning system, especially the type of deacidification solvent. The soluble salt content in fly ash from MSW grate incinerator can be over 35.16%. Most of the soluble salt was calcium salt and chloride salt. The effect of washing parameters including liquid/solid (L/S) ratio and washing time on salt removal from fly ash were studied. Raw fly ash contained high chlorine (Cl) with the maximum of 19.83% and it can be significantly reduced by washing. Double-washing and secondary-washing had better performance than single-washing on salt removal. The secondary-washing did not only save water, but also reduced the energy cost during evaporation for crystallising soluble salt. Based on the analysis of variance (ANOVA), L/S ratio was the most principal factor for salt and Cl removal of fly ash by washing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Flexible high-frequency vibration sensors are highly desirable in various real-world applications such as structural health monitoring, environmental monitoring, and the internet of things. However, developing a facile and effective method to fabricate vibration sensors simultaneously featuring high vibration frequency response-ability and flexibility remains a grand challenge. Herein, we report a flexible ultrahigh-frequency triboelectric vibration sensor (UTVS) prepared by a layer-particle-layer structure. Owing to the flexibility of the materials (i.e., polyethylene terephthalate membrane) and the ultrahigh-frequency vibration response-ability of internal microparticles, the flexible UTVS exhibits an enhanced working frequency range of 3–170 kHz, which is much broader than previously reported triboelectric vibration sensors. Moreover, the UTVS can work not only in a flat state but also in a bent state due to its flexibility and the unique layer-particle-layer structural design. The UTVS shows nanometer-level vibration response-ability, omnidirectional response, stability in the temperature range of 10–70 °C, good frequency resolution of 0.01 kHz, and excellent performance in burst vibration detection (e.g., pencil lead break events and impact events from falling steel balls). With a collection of compelling features, the device is successfully demonstrated in vibration monitoring of curved structures (e.g., real-time water pipeline leak monitoring). Such a flexible ultrahigh-frequency triboelectric vibration sensor holds great potential in a wide range of practical applications, such as communication, health care, and infrastructure monitoring. Background: Current dietary guidelines generally treat all types of vegetables the same. However, whether specific vegetables are more beneficial or deleterious for preventing chronic liver disease (CLD) remains uncertain. Methods: We investigated the associations between starchy and non-starchy vegetables and the odds of hepatic steatosis and fibrosis in a US nationwide cross-sectional study. Diet was assessed by the 24-h dietary recalls. Hepatic steatosis and fibrosis were defined based on vibration-controlled transient elastography (TE). Multiple logistic regression was used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: Among 4170 participants with reliable TE test, 1436 were diagnosed with steatosis, 255 with advanced fibrosis. Increased intake of total starchy vegetables was associated with higher odds of steatosis (OR per 1-SD increment 1.11, 95% CI 1.01–1.24) and advanced fibrosis (OR = 1.39, 95% CI 1.15–1.69). Similar positive associations were observed for potatoes. Conversely, intakes of total non-starchy (OR = 0.82, 95% CI 0.71–0.95) and dark-green vegetables (OR = 0.89, 95% CI 0.82–0.97) were inversely associated with steatosis prevalence. Replacing 5% of energy from starchy vegetables (OR = 0.65, 95% CI 0.44–0.97) or potatoes (OR = 0.65, 95% CI 0.43–0.97) with equivalent energy from dark-green vegetables was associated with lower odds of steatosis. Conclusions: These findings support the recommendation to limit starchy vegetable intake and increase non-starchy vegetable intake in CLD prevention, and provide evidence for the potential health benefit from dietary substitution of non-starchy vegetables for starchy vegetables. Purpose: To evaluate the effect of acute kidney injury (AKI) duration and severity on long-term renal functional outcomes in patients undergoing partial nephrectomy (PN). Methods: Altogether 292 consecutive patients undergoing laparoscopic PN from 2010 to 2018 were identified in two medical centers. In addition, the AKI duration {transient AK [≤ 3d] or persistent AKI [> 3d]} was combined with AKI severity (stages) to elucidate their relationships with long-term functional results. Kaplan–Meier (KM) analysis was also used to compare among patients with no AKI, transient AKI, and persistent AKI. Moreover, the Cox-proportional hazards regression model was utilized to assess the risk factors for renal function deterioration. Results: Altogether 67 patients (22.9%) experienced postoperative AKI. 75% eGFR preserve rate during the follow-up was compared among patients with no AKI, transient AKI and persistent AKI using KM analysis and log-rank test, which revealed significant difference. After adjusting for age and warm ischemia time by multivariate model proportional hazards analysis, AKI duration and severity were identified as the risk factors (Stage 1-transient AKI vs. non-AKI: adjusted hazard ratio (HR) 4.361, 95% confidential interval (CI) [2.062–9.233], p < 0.001; stage 1-persistent AKI vs. non-AKI: adjusted HR 6.706, 95% CI [2.405–18.699], p < 0.001; stage 2/3-transient AKI vs. non-AKI: adjusted HR 8.949, 95% CI [1.571–50.963], p = 0.014; stage 2/3-persistent AKI vs. non-AKI: adjusted HR 13.453, 95% CI [11.353–133.798], p = 0.027). Conclusions: The AKI duration after PN is an important risk factor for long-term renal functional deterioration. In a cryogenic liquid medium, shock waves will be formed by the expansion of compressed gas that has been vaporized due to the injection of a large amount of energy. This may severely threaten the reliability of high- T c superconducting (HTS) apparatus. Several studies have documented the destructive forces of evaporating nitrogen produced by arc energy. However, the properties of and propagation mechanisms relating to pressure waves in liquid nitrogen have yet to be understood. The aim of this study was to clarify the evolution of pressure waves within an enclosed pipeline and reveal the effects of several factors such as the pipe size and the injected energy on the shock-wave impact using explosion dynamics simulations. The results provide evidence for the strengthening of shock waves due to multiple reflection and superposition. In addition, analysis of the pressure impulse and effective strain reveals that, in the case of moderate injected energy, the overall shape of the inside wall of the pipe will remain unchanged except at the points closest to the explosion center; in contrast, the ends of the pipeline may suffer from more severe deformation. Finally, the calculations suggest that the shock-wave impact increases almost linearly with the injected energy, and in logarithmic coordinates, the pressure is inversely proportional to the explosion distance. These findings provide a better understanding of the characteristics and propagation patterns of shock waves in liquid nitrogen, and they lay a foundation for evaluating the safety of HTS cables and energy pipelines. Imaging based on nonlinear two-photon absorption can offer an attractive alternative for the traditional one-photon imaging scheme with many potential benefits of imaging resolution, speed, and ability to image through scattering media. Here we experimentally demonstrate a direct imaging scheme based on two-photon absorption in the conventional silicon CCD camera and observe a spatial narrowing effect in its imaging. This technique, compared with its one-photon counterpart, exhibits a better imaging resolution and signal-to-noise ratio, thanks to the nonlinear nature of the two-photon absorption process. There is no detailed biomechanical research about the hybrid CBT-TT (CBT screws at cranial level and TT screws at caudal level) and TT-CBT (TT screws at cranial level and CBT screws at caudal level) techniques with finite element (FE) method. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate and provide specific biomechanical data of the hybrid lumbar posterior fixation system and compare with traditional pedicle screw and cortical screw trajectories without fusion, in FE method. Specimens were from the anatomy laboratory of Xinjiang Medical University. Four FE models of the L4-L5 lumbar spine segment were generated. For each of these, four implanted models with the following instruments were created: bilateral traditional trajectory screw fixation (TT-TT), bilateral cortical bone trajectory screw fixation (CBT-CBT), hybrid CBT-TT fixation, and hybrid TT-CBT fixation. A 400 N compressive load with 7.5 Nm moments was applied so as to simulate flexion, extension, left lateral bending, right lateral bending, left rotation, and right rotation, respectively. The range of motion (ROM) of the L4-L5 segment and the posterior fixation, the von Mises stress of the intervertebral disc, and the posterior fixation in four implanted models were compared. CBT-TT displayed a lower ROM of the fixation segment (3.82 ± 0.633°) compared to TT-TT (4.78 ± 0.306°) and CBT-CBT (4.23 ± 0.396°). In addition, CBT-TT showed a lower ROM of the posterior fixation (0.595 ± 0.108°) compared to TT-TT (0.795 ± 0.103°) and CBT-CBT (0.758 ± 0.052°). The intervertebral disc stress of CBT-TT (4.435 ± 0.604 MPa) was lower than TT-TT (7.592 ± 0.387 MPa) and CBT-CBT (6.605 ± 0.600 MPa). CBT-TT (20.228 ± 3.044 MPa) and TT-CBT (12.548 ± 2.914 MPa) displayed a lower peak von Mises stress of the posterior fixation compared to TT-TT (25.480 ± 3.737 MPa).
