This paper combines theoretical and experimental analysis to conduct relevant research to improve the accuracy of predicting paste yield stress by slump flow. The analytical model of slump flow for yield stress is derived, providing a theoretical basis for quantifying the rheological properties of paste with slump flow, based on a mini cylindrical mold with a height-to-diameter ratio of 1. Three different tailings-prepared pastes were tested for their slump flow and implemented rheological tests simultaneously. Although an approximate analytical solution for yield stress as a function of slump flow can be obtained, it is unsuitable for predicting the yield stress. The empirical yield stress model was constructed and experimentally verified. The results show that the empirical formula has high accuracy and good generality, which provides a practical method for rapid and accurate prediction of paste yield stress in mine sites.
