Previous control methods developed by our research team cannot satisfy the high accuracy requirements of unmanned surface vessel (USV) path-tracking during bathymetric mapping because of the excessive overshoot and slow convergence speed. For this reason, this study developed an adaptive fuzzy integral-derivative line-of-sight (AFIDLOS) method for USV path-tracking control. Integral and derivative terms were added to counteract the effect of the sideslip angle with which the USV could be quickly guided to converge to the planned path for bathymetric mapping. To obtain high accuracy of the look-ahead distance, a fuzzy control method was proposed. The proposed method was verified using simulations and outdoor experiments. The results demonstrate that the AFIDLOS method can reduce the overshoot by 79.85%, shorten the settling time by 55.32% in simulation experiments, reduce the average cross-track error by 10.91% and can ensure a 30% overlap of neighboring strips of bathymetric LiDAR outdoor mapping when compared with the traditional guidance law. A cooperative guidance law for a team of unmanned aerial vehicles is addressed to deceive air defense radar networks by generating a so-called phantom track. The problem is viewed as a line of sight guidance problem in which unmanned aerial vehicles track the line of sight of a phantom. A guidance law based on input–output feedback linearization is developed in order to deal with a situation in which the phantom condition is not satisfied. The resultant solution is obtained in a feedback form. Since the system is over-actuated, a control allocation optimization problem is formulated and solved by adding an additional objective term to the cost function that forces unmanned aerial vehicles to fly parallel to the phantom using a predictive control method. A closed-form solution is constructed for the unmanned aerial vehicles trajectory corresponding to the pre-specified phantom track. The proposed method is expanded through a scenario in which multiple unmanned aerial vehicles cooperatively generate a coherent phantom track toward a desired waypoint by engaging with the same number of radars. In this paper, we consider the problem of robot tracking and navigation toward a moving goal. The goal's maneuvers are not a priori known to the robot. Thus, off-line strategies are not effective. To model the robot and the goal, we use geometric rules combined with kinematics equations expressed in a polar representation. The intent of the strategy is to keep the robot between a reference point, called the observer, and the goal. We prove under certain assumptions that the robot navigating using this strategy reaches the moving goal successfully. In the presence of obstacles, the method is combined with an obstacle avoidance algorithm. The robot then moves in two modes, the navigation mode and the obstacle avoidance mode. Simulation of various scenarios highlights the efficiency of the method and provides an instructive comparison between the paths obtained for different reference points. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
