Ecotourism is an important component of tourism and consists in visiting natural areas for relaxation in nature, for psychic recovery, knowledge, appreciation of nature and its effects. Ecotourism plays a significant role in the economic development of an area or region of tourist attraction. The most important positive effects refer to the contributions in the state revenues, generated by the tourist expenses and the export and import of complementary goods for the receiving countries, and to the stimulation of investments in various sectors, thus, through the multiplier effect of the tourism contributing to the economic prosperity of the country. Ecotourism is and will be an important direction for the sustainable and economic development of Romania, our country being one of the first countries in the world where a standard for the evaluation of ecotourism destinations is applied. It is adapted according to the criteria of the World Council for Sustainable Tourism and is under the administration of the Ministry of Tourism. This article presents the new opportunities for developing and supporting ecotourism in Romania.

Tourism is a rapidly expanding activity, so places with potential for tourism development, previously outside the tourism market, have been inserted in contemporary tourist routes. Brazil, being a country of continental dimension, has different tourist attractions in different regions. As for the states with great tourist potential, we highlight Mato Grosso do Sul, although many places in it are almost unknown and little publicized. Thus, we present here an analysis of Corguinho which has outstanding ecotourism potential, but also could attract tourists in other modalities as scientific and mystical tourism. In this text, we seek to present alternatives that can trigger an eventual tourism development process in the municipality following a model of sustainable economic and social development in line with the local environmental preservation.

The Danube delta is a wetland of primordial importance for wildlife and humans alike. The former resources trigger a specific form of leisure for the latter, namely ecotourism whose manifestation is featured in the current research paper through an analysis of the foreign and domestic arrivals as well as a succinct presentation of its fauna resources. This primitive location, its seclusion and its unique resources invite the tourist to authenticity, immersion and self discovery, in other words a responsible type of tourism. The total tourist arrivals for the Danube delta amounted to 88000 in 2012, thus indicating its remoteness from mass tourism.

Year after year, the statistics show that the rural tourism has gained more and more followers. Many reasons are cited to explain this evolution: the influence of ecological ideas, a desire to evade the classical tourist structures, the discovery of a fair price/quality ratio. The work is based on the following grounds: willingness to support the environmental organizations in their approach to the population’s consumption/use of organic products; providing a database of survey to the managers in rural areas; boosting Romanian tourists to get to know the country, traditions, customs; last but not least, we wanted to draw a warning signal on the need for the establishment of the objectives within the framework of rural tourism from the perspective of the sustainability and consumption of healthy products.

In the last decades, some No Governmental Organizations are beginning to play an important roll in the development of tourism. These organizations pretend, through of alternative tourism, help to the local society and at the same time to help the conservation of the environment. We analyzed some problems that are generated in some of these interventions. We will take opinions from the local society to compare with the executors. At the same time we analyze, from the holistic perspective, the all areas where were displaying the interventions process, where there is a relation between tourism and environ-ment.

The Kenyan government sees ecotourism as having the potential of becoming a moderately useful tool for locally directed and participatory rural development based on a rational utilization of environmental and cultural resources on which tourism relays on. We therefore need a better understanding of ecotourism’s impacts, and how those impacts are affected by various development and management strategies. Furthermore, ecotourism not only provides revenue and employment, but also causes undesirable environmental and social change. Unfortunately, these costs of ecotourism development are rarely evaluated in detail. If ecotourism is indeed promoting a region’s welfare, it is vital that apart from the economic potential, environmental and social costs that also need to be identified, these costs enter into any decisions about ecotourism development. This paper contributes to a greater understanding of the linkages between ecotourism and the economy from the Kenyan perspective. Research was undertaken in communities adjacent to Masai Mara and Amboseli area in Kenya. The study examined the relationships between ecotourism and economy with a view to understanding how the benefits, if any, are utilized within the communities.

All the countries recognized the social and economic importance of ecoturism, by declaring the year 2004 as the International Year of Ecoturism. At the same time, the UN general Assembly wished to draw the attention of governments and the international community in general about the potential of this tourism segment to generate impacts, both positive and negative, on the natural environment, the conservation of biodiversity, and social and cultural fabrics of host communities. Therefore, governments, the private sector, the communities and the tourists are invited to exert greater efforts in order for ecoturism to become a mayor contributor to sustainable development, instead of posing a new barrier to sustainability.

Propone un modelo legal y administrativo para la conformación de una cooperativa de trabajo asociado de un corredor turístico, en los municipios de Sopó y La Calera (Cundinamarca-Colombia). Se tuvo en cuenta las necesidades sociales, las características naturales y culturales de la región, la oportunidad para sumar esfuerzos intermunicipales, el apoyo de la empresa pública y privada, con el ánimo de organizar competitivamente el ofrecimiento de sus servicios turísticos y ecoturísticos. Pretende integrar no sólo a los futuros asociados, sino a los procesos de fusión subregional para maximizar beneficios sociales, económicos y ambientales a bajo costo. Para cumplir con este propósito, se realizó una investigación exploratoria, lo que facilitó el aporte de información para la descripción, análisis, interpretación y argumentación del objeto de estudio, el cual deja como conclusión, que la constitución de una empresa de economía solidaria es un modelo viable de asociación, que hace posible articular la necesidad de la comunidad, como estrategia para su desarrollo.

Community Subotica encloses by its territory four protected natural estates but with different protection grades – international, republic and communal. One of them is The Desert of Subotica («Subotička peščara») as the area with exeptional nature eminence, then special reservations of nature – Lake Ludas («Ludaško jezero») and Heaths of Selevenia (« Selevenjske pustare»), and the natural park Palic (Palić). These protected natural estates are internationaly exepted. Exploitation and reservation areas with remarkable values, same as introducing those in interest for protected natural estates, should happen on principles education and giving informations to tourists and to local population. Beside this, the guardian of protected natural estates determines the régim of exploitation.
