IntroductionSustainability in agriculture at regional scale is about balancing food security with maintaining environmental health. Therefore, agricultural operations are sustainable when they maintain the health of the environment, the interaction between plant and animal production, social acceptance and economic benefits (Kumaraswamy, 2012). Excessive use of environmental resources and excessive consumption of chemicals in agriculture have caused environmental problems and reduced sustainability (Quintero-Angel & Gonzales-Acevedo, 2018). Therefore, it is necessary to study the patterns of energy consumption and efficient use of energy in agriculture, which is one of the basic principles in sustainable agriculture. Emergy analysis, as suitable tool for this purpose, is used in the various ecosystems (Odum, 2000; Brown & Ulgiati, 2004). Emergy analysis is able to determine the degree of sustainability of connected ecological and economic systems. Emergy indices are effective tools for integrating ecological-economic systems and make it possible to measure and compare all aspects of these ecosystems (Patterson et al., 2017). The purpose of this study was to evaluate sustainability indices for rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) production systems using emergy indices and provide suggestions for sustainable product of the crop in Kalaleh county. Materials and MethodsIn this study, production systems of rapeseed were evaluated using emergy sustainability indices in Kalaleh County (Golestan province), during the period of 2018-2019. For this purpose, 50 rapeseed fields were selected as Cochran equation. First, the spatial and temporal boundaries of the system were defined (Odum, 1996; Odum, 2000) and resources were divided into four categories: renewable environmental resources, nonrenewable environmental resources, purchased renewable resources and purchased nonrenewable resources (Amiri et al., 2019). Emergy flow for each input was multiplied by their transformities in joules and grammes (Odum, 2000). Finally, emergy indices such as renewability, emergy yield ratio, emergy self-support ratio, environmental loading ratio and emergy sustainability index were calculated and evaluated in rapeseed production systems. Results and DiscussionTotal emergy input for the rapeseed production was estimated as 1.64E+16 sej ha-1 year-1. In rapeseed production, dependence on environmental and nonrenewable inputs was higher than purchased and renewable inputs. Soil erosion emergy was the largest emergy inputs of the total in rapeseed production system with share of 47.31%. Also, fossil fuel emergy was the largest emergy inputs of the purchased with share of 38.41%. In this research, we calculated the transformity equal to 2.59E+05 sej j-1, specific emergy equal to 7.33E+09 sej g-1, emergy renewability equal to 8.16%, emergy yield ratio equal to 2.17 and emergy investment ratio equal to 0.85. Also, emergy self-support ratio, standard environmental loading ratio, modified environmental loading ratio, standard emergy sustainability index, and modified emergy sustainability index were estimated 0.54, 13.81, 11.27, 0.16 and 0.19, respectively. Despite the higher contribution of environmental resources in the rapeseed production system, the high share of soil erosion as a non-renewable input along with the unreasonable consumption of some nonrenewable purchased inputs, such as fossil fuels, led to a decrease in renewability and an increase in environmental load. Based on evaluation of emergy indices, rapeseed ecosystem had the high production efficiency and resource consumption efficiency and it had the great potential to increase economic productivity. However, rapeseed production in Kalaleh county had low environmental and economic sustainability. The implementation of conservation tillage methods and the modernization of machinery can contribute to a reduction in the consumption of nonrenewable and economic inputs in rapeseed production ecosystems. This reduction in input consumption not only alleviates environmental pressure but also enhances sustainability. By prioritizing the use of renewable environmental inputs and minimizing the utilization of nonrenewable and economic inputs, the emergy sustainability index can be improved.ConclusionThe rapeseed ecosystems exhibited high production efficiency and resource consumption efficiency, along with significant potential for increasing economic productivity. However, despite the substantial contribution of environmental resources in these systems, the prevalence of soil erosion as a significant portion of the total emergy input resulted in a decline in renewability, an escalation in environmental burden, and ultimately a decrease in sustainability. It appears that enhancing management methods to minimize the consumption of nonrenewable and economic resources would be effective in bolstering the environmental and economic sustainability of rapeseed farming ecosystems in Kalaleh county.

Abstract Following cervical and uterine cancer, ovarian cancer (OC) has the third rank in gynecologic cancers. It often remains non-diagnosed until it spreads throughout the pelvis and abdomen. Identification of the most effective risk factors can help take prevention measures concerning OC. Therefore, the presented review aims to summarize the available studies on OC risk factors. A comprehensive systematic literature search was performed to identify all published systematic reviews and meta-analysis on associated factors with ovarian cancer. Web of Science, Cochrane Library databases, and Google Scholar were searched up to 17th January 2020. This study was performed according to Smith et al. methodology for conducting a systematic review of systematic reviews. Twenty-eight thousand sixty-two papers were initially retrieved from the electronic databases, among which 20,104 studies were screened. Two hundred seventy-seven articles met our inclusion criteria, 226 of which included in the meta-analysis. Introduction: The present study aimed to compare the national health indicators and the effectiveness of primary preventive interventions on traffic accidents in Iran during the last decade (2009-2019). Methods: All published original articles on the primary preventive intervention and health indicators of traffic accidents in Iran were extracted. The inclusion criteria included epidemiologic studies on Iranian male population during 2009-2019. Data were screened and extracted by two independent evaluators and the quality of studies was checked using the STROBE checklist. The exclusion criteria included those articles aimed at presenting results of second or third levels prevention (including injury management, pre-hospital emergency management, economic analyses, case reports, and traffic accidents from non-human perspectives). Accident-related mortality rates, proportionate mortality from traffic accidents per 1000 vehicles, and per 1000 accidents were estimated. Results: A total of 65 original articles were included of which 13 were presented health indicators. The crude mortality rate varied from 57.1 in Sistan-Balooshestan province to 73 (per 100,000 population ) in Fars province. The age-standardized mortality rate among male pedestrians (per 100,000 population) varied from 10.6-33.4 in Gilan and Mazandaran, 42 in Fars, 50.9 in Lorestan provinces. During the last 10 years, the mortality rate decreased from 38 to 12 cases per 1000 vehicles and increased from 51 to 56 cases per 100 accidents. Studies on the effectiveness of primary level prevention have addressed regulations on controlling blood alcohol level and international projection models. Conclusions: The type of health indicators related to traffic accidents seems to vary greatly among studies. Investigation on the effectiveness of primary preventive interventions on traffic caccidents are proposed frequently by WHO. Nevertheless, short-term and long-term effectiveness of many interventions including educational packages, regulations and specific laws have not been assessed in Iran.

The aim of this study was to synthesize Ag-nanoclay composite by solid ion exchange, then characterize, and evaluate the antibacterial activity. This newly introduced ion exchange is a simple and low cost technique, which provides a quicker method. Without chemical treatment, nanoclay was subjected to an ion exchange process in media containing molten salt of silver at 300 and 400 °C and at different periods. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the flakes’ structure was opened by higher temperature and longer time. DRS graph revealed that Ag particles were successfully loaded, and that higher temperature and longer time increased the loading amount. Changes in basal reflection in XRD peak validated the presence of Ag. The Release test indicate that the materials do not present any risk for drinking water treatment since the leached metals were very small and in acceptable concentrations. The constant amount of release after four hours of sharp releasing. The antibacterial activity of the prepared composites was tested against gram-negative Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus using the disc diffusion method. Presence of an inhibition zone clearly indicates the antibacterial effect of the composites. The results demonstrate that silver can be introduced onto nanoclay by single-step ion exchange.

Immobilization of TiO2 on silica gel has been proposed to enable easy separation of the catalyst in aqueous systems after photocatalytic reaction. Our simple synthesizing method reduces production cost, and the photocatalyst could find economical application in wastewater treatment. Silica-supported TiO2 composites were prepared by molten salt method at 500, 600 and 700 °C for 60 min. The obtained samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and X-ray fluorescence. SEM results showed a heterogeneous surface covered with spherical particles. According to XRD findings, the only phase of the prepared TiO2/SG nanocomposites at all temperatures was pure anatase. The average crystallite size of anatase was roughly 25, 42, 44 and 53 nm for nanocomposites prepared at 550, 600, 700 and 800 °C, respectively. The samples taken at 500 and 600 ºC showed a band gap value of 2.98 eV, and for sample synthesized at 700 ºC the band gap was 2.95 eV. The decolorization activity has been evaluated by Methyl orange (MO) oxidation in liquid phase. The results showed that the sample obtained at 700 °C had the highest photocatalytic decolorization efficiency activity, and the sample prepared at 500 °C had the lowest. The decolorization activity of photocatalyst prepared at 700 °C did not change during stability experiment.

In this research, a simple and fast method was employed to synthesize CuO nanoleaves/silica gel nanocomposites (CuO/SGn), which is a cost effective antimicrobial material. CuSO4.5H2O is the only raw material used in CuO/SGn production through the molten salt method. The structure and morphology of the nanocomposites were characterized by DRS, XRD, and SEM. The copper size in CuO/SG was found to be dependent on the immersion time in molten salt. SEM images revealed smaller-sized particle leaves, from a sample obtained after longer immersion time.The antimicrobial activity of CuO/SGn was investigated against Escherichia coli. The produced CuO/SGn showed inhibitory effect against E. coli. However, the growth-inhibitory effect depends on the copper content and size. Lower loading of CuO nanoparticles in 10 min immersion time resulted in less antibacterial activity (73.33%) and sample obtained from longer immersion time demonstrated higher antibacterial activity (up to 99.96%). The maximum amount of released Cu ions from nanocomposites produced in 90 min was 12.2 ppm after 6 h. Furthermore, the minimum release of Cu ions was observed by 3 h for 40 min nnanocomposite.
