To meet the different functional needs for soybean protein isolate (SPI) in different food applications, this study utilized infrared spectroscopy to rapidly analyze 70 SPI samples subjected to different pH treatments, and explored the effect of pH changes on the secondary structure content of SPI. Mean centralization (MC), multivariate scattering correction (MSC), standard normal variate transformation, and normalization were used for infrared data preprocessing. Feature wavebands were identified based on two-dimensional correlation infrared spectra, and predictive modeling of the secondary structure content of SPI against pH was performed using partial least squares (PLS) and arithmetic optimization algorithm-random forests (AOA-RF). The results showed that the relative standard deviations of the α-helix, β-sheet, β-turn, and random coil prediction models developed by the combined use of MC and MSC were 1.29%, 1.60%, 1.37%, and 7.28%, respectively, indicating their combination to be the best spectral pre-processing method. The optimal model for predicting α-helix and β-sheet contents was AOA-RF (characteristic wavebands), with calibration determination coefficients of 0.935 0 and 0.926 6 and prediction determination coefficients of 0.856 8 and 0.870 1, respectively. The optimal model for predicting β-turn and random coil contents was PLS (characteristic wavebands), with calibration determination coefficients of 0.915 4 and 0.881 7 and prediction determination coefficients of 0.891 3 and 0.784 3, respectively. The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for product quality detection and processing condition control in industrial settings.

Objective To compare the efficacy of olopatadine hydrochloride and desloratadine citrate disodium for the treatment of chronic urticaria. Methods A total of 184 patients with chronic urticaria were enrolled at the department of dermatology of Kaifeng People's Hospital from October 2020 to January 2024, and were randomly assigned into the study group (92 cases, olopatadine hydrochloride) and the controls (92 cases, desloratadine citrate disodium). Following one-month treatment, the clinical effective rate, symptom score, dermatology life quality index (DLQI) score and urticaria control test (UCT) score before and after the treatment, and adverse reactions were evaluated in both groups. Results After 1-month treatment, the total clinical effective rates were significantly higher in the study group than in the controls (95.65% vs. 86.96%, χ2=4.38, P=0.036). The existing methods for the determination of phosphorus content are unable to regulate the addition of acid and base in the refining process of crude soybean oil through real-time monitoring. Therefore, a novel rapid method for determining the phosphorus content of crude soybean oil based on near-infrared spectroscopy was proposed in this study. It was found that standard normal variate transformation was more effective than two other spectral preprocessing methods evaluated for denoising the spectral data indicative of the phosphorus content in soybean crude oil. The characteristic absorption band of phosphorus was optimized by synergy interval partial least squares (SiPLS). A back propagation (BP) neural network prediction model of the phosphorus content in crude soybean oil was established with learning efficiency of 0.005 and 108 training cycles. The determination coefficient (R2), root mean square error (RMSE) and relative standard deviation (RSD) for the correction set were 0.979 7, 0.859 3 and 1.89%, respectively. The R2, RMSE and RSD for the validation set were 0.978 5, 0.963 8 and 2.15%, respectively. The above results showed that NIR spectroscopy can achieve rapid, accurate and non-destructive detection of the phosphorus content in, and provide a feasible method for the refining of crude soybean oil.

Objective To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics, imaging manifestations, genetic manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of juvenile hyaline fibromatosis. Methods A case of juvenile hyaline fibromatosis was reported, and the patient's clinical manifestations, imaging examinations, histopathological examinations, genetic changes and treatment were summarized and analyzed. Results Juvenile hyaloid fibromatosis is more common in infants and children. This patient had typical clinical and pathological manifestations, including posterior occipital masses, skin and subcutaneous nodules, gum hyperplasia, joint contractures, and joint osteolytic lesions. The histopathological lesions were characterized by the proliferation of spindle cells in the tissue accompanied by a large amount of amorphous transparent matrix. Genetic testing was performed to confirm an ANTXR2 gene mutation, consistent with the known genetic changes of juvenile hyaline fibromatosis. The 6-month follow-up of the patient showed that there was no obvious recurrence after resection of the gum and facial mass. In addition to surgery, the treatment of this disease requires multidisciplinary symptomatic treatment combined with rehabilitation and supportive treatment to achieve a better prognostic effect. Conclusion Juvenile hyaline fibromatosis is a rare nonneoplastic autosomal recessive genetic disease. Mutations in the ANTXR2 gene lead to disorders of collagen synthesis and metabolism in the tissues and further cause subcutaneous nodules, gingival hyperplasia, joint contractures and bone dissolution.

•Large-scale industrial pork production enterprises are preferred in China in the future.•Challenges to green pork production include emissions, feed shortage and residues.•Potential solutions to green production include precise feeding and manure recycling.This paper reviews the changes in pork production in China, the largest pork producing and consuming nation in the world. The pork sector in China has changed dramatically since the 1990s, with large-scale intensive pork production systems replacing the former, exclusively family-based pork production systems. Modern breeding, feeding, vaccinating, and management technologies are widely used now. However, smallholders still account for a large proportion of the total production. The intensification and specialization of the pork sector is expected to continue in the future, but there is increasing awareness and pressure to develop more environmentally-sustainable production systems. The relative shortage of domestically produced feed, the low utilization efficiency of feed ingredients, the large emissions of nitrogen and phosphorus to the environment, the high use of antibiotics, and the presence of residual metals in manures are very large challenges for the pork sector nowadays. To solve these problems, techniques including new feed resource utilization, precise feeding, low-protein diets, alternatives to antibiotics and increased manure recycling are all important topics and research directions today. With new techniques and management approaches, it is possible to build more sustainable pork production systems in China.

Background: The mechanism of miR-320d in EGFR-positive colorectal cancer (CRC) has not been fully elucidated. The aim of the present study was to explore the molecular mechanism of miR-320d in CRC.Methods: The miRNA microarray analysis was conducted to identify differential expressed miRNAs. The expression of miR-320d was validated using quantitative real-time PCR. EGFR-positive CRC cells were transfected with miR-320d mimic and inhibitor, after which cell proliferation, migration, and invasion were assayed. The relationship between miR-320d and TUSC3 was confirmed using bioinformatics and dual-luciferase reporter gene assays. Proteins involved in signaling pathways and the epithelial–mesenchymal transition were detected with Western blot.Results: We found that the miR-320d expression is associated with tumor size and distant metastasis in colorectal cancer. Overexpression of miR-320d in EGFR-positive HCT-116 and SW480 cells decreased not only the proliferation ability but also the invasion and migration ability. In addition, miR-320d had the ability to inhibit epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition. Luciferase assays revealed that miR-320d directly targets the 3′-UTR of TUSC3. TUSC3 was downregulated by miR-320d at both the protein and mRNA levels in EGFR-positive CRC cell lines.Conclusion: Generally, our results demonstrated that miR-320d could inhibit the malignant phenotype of EGFR-positive CRC through targeting TUSC3. The miR-320d might be a potential therapeutic target for EGFR-positive CRC.

The electrodes were fabricated in double-titanium cyclic voltametric electrodeposition system, corresponding to the anode and cathode of the system. For further study the practicality of this mode, the performance of the resulting electrodes was investigated. Through a series of physical and electrochemical characterization, it is concluded that the IrOx electrode corresponding to the anode of the system has a flat and uniform deposit layer, and shows better electrolytic durability (its actual working life is more than 3072 h), while the cathode electrode has better performance in electrocatalytic activity.

To develop an efficient and green method to recycling lead slag, a novel strategy to fabricate nano-lead dioxide from lead slag was applied by the hydro-electrometallurgy. In leaching system, the optimum condition of leaching time 100 min, 80 °C, stirring rate 500 rpm, liquid/solid ratio 20 and 1 mol/L methanesulfonic acid resulted in lead recovery of 89% and residue obtained without toxicity. The kinetic study revealed that the methanesulfonic acid leaching of lead slag shows good agreement with a diffusion-controlled shrinking-particle model. Additionally, the apparent activation energy of MSA leaching of lead slag was determined using Arrhenius model as 13.621 kJ/mol. Furthermore, Nano-PbO2 recovered from waste lead paste was prepared for the electrolysis of water to produce ozone. The experimental results showed that the ozone production of nano-PbO2 recovered from waste lead slag was not significantly different from the nano-PbO2 prepared by pure reagents. In conclusion, waste lead slag can be recycled for the fabrication of nano-PbO2, which has a significant advantage on realizing the recycling of lead resources.

Cracking tendency is one of the important performances of dry-mixed plastering mortar (DMPM). Environmental condition is a key factor to affect the cracking tendency of DMPM. For the purpose of evaluating the cracking resistance of DMPM and revealing the influence of environmental conditions on the cracking tendency of DMPM, a series of experiments were performed on restriction-induced cracking behaviors as well as free shrinkage, water loss, and mechanical properties of DMPM. The restricted shrinkage tests were based on ring tests and plate experiments. The results showed that the initial drying age exhibits significant influence on the cracking tendency of DMPM, and there was a stress balance period when the initial drying age was 2 days. But, the phenomena cannot be observed when the initial age was 3 d, 5 d, and 7 d. In order to eliminate the cracking tendency of DMPM, it should avoid water loss from the plaster layer during construction in practical engineering, especially, before initial drying ages.

In this research, five yeasts were selected to ferment ginger juice to produce ginger wines. The changes of total sugar, reducing sugar, total acid, pH and alcohol content during fermentation were studied. The organic acid composition, aroma components and sensory properties of produced wine were analyzed. The results showed that all samples were fermented at a similar rate and the alcohol content reached 12%, but the total acidity was significantly different. Wine 5# had the lowest concentration of succinic acid and highest concentrations of pyruvate acid and lactic acid. The flavor fingerprint of five kinds of ginger wines was developed by the Gas Chromatograph - Ion Mobility Spectrometer (GC-IMS). Among 82 identified compounds, around 32 volatiles were found to be unique compounds that related to the special yeast species used for the fermentation. PCA analysis results indicated that wine 4# and 5# had the highest similarity in volatile organic composition. However, they exhibited different sensory properties. Wine 5# had the highest preference score while wine 4# had the lowest preference among five wines. In general, Yeast 5# provided the strongest and pleasant aroma, the best taste and sensory quality.

The article is devoted to the typological proximity of motifs in the lyrics of Sergei Alexandrovich Esenin and Arthur Rimbaud. Particular attention is paid to the peculiarities of the creative ways of S. Esenin and A. Rimbaud. Poetry of Esenin is presented in the context of such motifs of A. Rimbaud, such as a duality, rebelliousness, attitude towards the Church, love for nature, etc.
