Child abuse affects millions of children globally. Comprehensive training is essential to promote its recognition and trigger appropriate responses to prevent missed opportunities for intervention. We describe a child abuse and child protection training programme for University of Ghana Medical School students and the cross-sectional survey of student assessment at the end. The programme comprised a lectures, dissertations, community surveys, case reports, public health advocacy topics, and poster designs. These were carried out as part of regular coursework in community health, using individual and group—methods. It culminated in a one-day whole-class seminar after their final examinations with completion and analyses of self-administered student assessment questionnaires. The seminar comprised nineteen 10-min oral presentations, twelve poster presentations on community surveys and dissertations, nine educative posters, three leaflets and a question-and-answer session. The training involved 208 students, and 126 completed the questionnaires. The majority of the students had good knowledge (80–100%). They correctly identified the types (91%), risk factors (87%), and gained clarity in selected areas. Added benefits were awards, a book of abstracts and summaries, policy brief and continuous professional development points for doctors. This training programme exemplifies the establishment of medical education in the context of the needs of the population to—be served.

Degradation of ethics and morality during adolescence poses a threat that can hinder or even jeopardize the future of teenagers. This counseling is conducted to provide education and a deep understanding of how teenagers can build strong morals and develop positive adolescent ethics. The counseling uses the PAR approach with the aid of media such as laptops, LCD projectors, and materials as primary tools for conveying information. The results of the counseling show: the event was conducted very well, with excellent interaction between the presenter and participants. The presenter effectively and smoothly delivered information about ethics and morality, the causes of their decline, and strategies for prevention. Conclusion: The counseling on ethics and morality has a positive psychological impact as participants are able to understand the material well.

The pharmaceutical industry is undergoing rapid evolution, characterized by a complex regulatory landscape and the need for diverse skill sets. This study aimed to assess pharmacy students’ perceptions of the pharmaceutical industry and the impact of a dedicated seminar on their career aspirations and knowledge. A pre-post online survey was administered to 55 undergraduate pharmacy students at the National Pharmacy Seminar 2024, hosted by Jakarta Global University. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test (p ≤0.05). Results indicate a strong preference for careers in state-owned pharmaceutical companies (63.6%) and research and development departments (34%). The seminar significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of pharmacists’ roles, industry complexities, drug development challenges, and regulatory requirements. Notably, 93% of participants reported that the seminar met their expectations and provided valuable insights for future career exploration. These findings underscore the importance of educational interventions in shaping pharmacy students’ career trajectories and aligning their knowledge with the dynamic pharmaceutical industry.

Clinical pharmacology is an important discipline that bridges clinical medicine and pharmacology. In the teaching practice, it is necessary to keep up with educational reform and adopt the seminar teaching method combined with case-based learning (CBL), so as to practically improve the benefits of both 'teaching' and 'learning'. The teaching of ideology and politics in the curriculum is the key to cultivate students' high sense of responsibility and noble medical ethics, and realize the goal of moral education. At present, in the teaching of clinical pharmacology of antineoplastic drugs, there are problems such as students' weak basic knowledge of oncology pharmacology, separation of 'teaching' and 'learning' due to the traditional teaching method, outdated teaching materials, and low motivation of students. Therefore, this paper takes this part of the course teaching as an example to initially explore the role of the innovative model of 'Seminar-CBL-Ideological and Political Education ' in the teaching practice of clinical pharmacology, with the hope of stimulating the students' interest in learning, cultivating students' correct outlook on the world, life, and values, achieving the goals of 'teaching' and 'learning', and providing reference for optimizing clinical pharmacology education.

Das Thema „Behinderung“ sowie Begegnungen mit beeinträchtigten Personen können bei nichtbeeinträchtigten Menschen – und somit ggf. auch bei Lehramtsstudierenden – Unsicherheiten und Ängste auslösen. In diesem Beitrag wird ein Seminarkonzept vorgestellt, das darauf ausgerichtet ist, angehende Lehrkräfte mit unterschiedlichen Lebensbedingungen beeinträchtigter Menschen, deren Sicht auf Behinderung und deren Problemlagen im Hinblick auf gesellschaftliche und soziale Bedingungen vertraut zu machen. Zentrales Anliegen ist es dabei, die Teilnehmer*innen mit ihren eigenen Erfahrungen, Unsicherheiten und Ängsten im Hinblick auf Behinderung bzw. beeinträchtigte Menschen zu konfrontieren und sie zu ermutigen, ihre (emotionale) Beziehung zum Thema zu klären, um ihnen so für ihre spätere Tätigkeit in beruflichen Kontexten (zum Beispiel in der Schule als Lehrkraft) einen sicheren Umgang mit beeinträchtigten Personen und deren Bedarfen zu ermöglichen. In diesem Seminar steht nicht allein die Vermittlung von Fakten im Vordergrund, sondern das inhaltliche Interesse, die persönliche – durch die eigene Biografie geprägte – Haltung sowie die Emotionen der Teilnehmenden bei der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema „Behinderung“. Die Teilnehmenden sind an der inhaltlichen und organisatorischen Gestaltung des Seminars beteiligt. In diesem Beitrag werden die hochschuldidaktische Konzeption, die theoretische Fundierung und die bisherigen Erfahrungen mit dem Seminar erläutert und Materialien zur Nachnutzung zur Verfügung gestellt.

الملخص: أهداف البحث: تعمل الاستراتيجيات التعليمية المتمحورة حول الطالب مثل التعلم القائم على حل المشكلات والتعلم المستند إلى الحالة والتعلم القائم على الفريق والندوات على تعزيز التعلم الجماعي للطلاب والتعلم الذاتي. أجريت هذه الدراسة لتقييم تحصيل الطلاب في موضوعات علم التشريح التي تم تقديمها من خلال جلسات التعلم القائم على الفريق والندوات. بالإضافة إلى استبانة أولويات الطلاب فيما يتعلق بهاتين الطريقتين في تعلم التشريح. طرق البحث: يتم إجراء جلسات التعلم القائم على الفريق من خلال اختبار ضمان الجاهزية الفردية، واختبار ضمان جاهزية المجموعة، والمحاضرة المصغرة، وتمارين التطبيق. بينما تتكون الندوة من الاختبار القبلي ومن ثم محاضرة من قبل الأقران ثم الاختبار البعدي. تمت مقارنة أداء 117 طالبا في ثلاث جلسات من التعلم القائم على الفريق وثلاث ندوات بعد معايرة الأسئلة. جميع الطلاب ملتحقين بالسنة الثانية (عددهم 42) والثالثة (عددهم 40) والرابعة (عددهم 35) في كلية الطب بجامعة بيشة خلال العام الدراسي (2019-2020). النتائج: لوحظت زيادة تدريجية في متوسط درجات جلسات التعلم القائم على الفريق بين السنوات المختلفة حيث كان المتوسط لطلاب السنة الثانية (68.6 ± 9.56) ولطلاب السنة الثالثة (82.8 ± 12.25) ولطلاب السنة الرابعة (92.7 ± 4.70) بينما كانت ثابتة تقريبا في درجات الندوات حيث كان المتوسط لطلاب السنة الثانية (80.0 ± 9.66) ولطلاب السنة الثالثة (85.11 ± 10.16) ولطلاب السنة الرابعة (85.9 ± 8.80). أسفرت نتائج استخدام اختبار ''كوهينز دي'' (للتحقق من قوة العلاقة بين النشاطين) لطلاب السنة الثانية عن 1.03 ولطلاب السنة الثالثة 0.16 ولطلاب السنة الرابعة 0.74 . كما تم تحليل نتائج استبيان الإدراك والتفضيل المستلمة من 39 طالبا من طلاب السنة الثانية و 35 طالبا من طلاب السنة الثالثة و 28 طالبا من طلاب السنة الرابعة. اختار غالبية الطلاب التعلم القائم على الفريق كطريقة تعلم مفضلة لديهم بينما كان مستوى القبول ضعيف جدا فيما يتعلق بالندوات. الاستنتاجات: يمكن أن نستنتج أن التعلم القائم على الفريق أكثر إفادة للطلاب حتى في العلوم العملية الأساسية مثل علم التشريح و ذلك في الغالب بسبب تعليم الأقران الجماعي الذي يعزز الشعور بالمنافسة الجماعية بدلا من طبيعة التعلم الذاتي للندوات التي قد تكبح الشعور بالمنافسة. Abstract: Objectives: Student-centered educational strategies like problem-based learning (PBL), case-based learning (CBL), team-based learning (TBL), and seminars enhance group and self-learning. This study was carried out to evaluate students' achievements in anatomy topics delivered through TBL sessions and seminars and to survey student preferences regarding these two modalities in anatomy learning. Methods: TBL was conducted through individual readiness assurance tests (IRATs), group readiness assurance tests (GRATs), mini-lectures, and application exercises. Seminars included pretests, peer lecturing, and posttests. The performance of 117 students in three TBL sessions and three seminars was compared after standardizing the questions. The students were second-year (42), third-year (40), and fourth-year (35) students at the College of Medicine, University of Bisha, KSA, during the 2019/2020 academic year. Results: A gradual increase in the means of TBL grades was noticed among second-, third-, and four-year students (means ± SD: 68.6 ± 9.56, 82.8 ± 12.25, and 92.7 ± 4.70, respectively), but their seminar grades were nearly stationary (means ± SD: 80.0 ± 9.66, 85.11 ± 10.16, and 85.9 ± 8.80, respectively). Cohen's d-test to check the strength of the relationship between the two activities showed 1.03, 0.16, and 0.74 in the same order. We statistically analyzed perception and preference questionnaire results received from 39, 35, and 28 second-, third-, and four-year students, respectively. The majority of the students selected TBL as their preferred learning modality. However, their acceptance of the seminars was very poor Conclusions: It can be concluded that TBL is more beneficial to the students, even in practical sciences like anatomy, most likely because group peer teaching enhances the sense of collegial competition, as opposed to the self-learning nature of seminars, which might suppress the sense of competition.

Thematic learning becomes very important in the era of the 2013 curriculum and also the current independent learning curriculum, the output of the two curricula is strengthening the processes and learning outcomes for students. The seminar was conducted with the aim of strengthening and increasing the teacher's pegagogical competence, especially in terms of learning innovation. The seminar was conducted offline with a duration of 200 minutes on August 29 2022 at UPTD SDN Pangilen 3 Sampang which was attended by 8 teachers. The speaker uses the help of a laptop as a medium for delivering material. The results of the seminar implementation: 1) The first speaker gave material about holistic and meaningful learning, the second speaker gave authentic and active learning material. 2) The seminar runs actively as evidenced by lively discussions. 3) The results of the teacher's seminar increasingly understand and can practice holistic, meaningful, authentic and active learning in front of the presenters. The impact of this seminar is as a reference material and study for other schools, especially rural schools that have not implemented thematic learning as a whole.

This community service activity aims to provide public health education regarding the prevention of stunting. Counseling in the form of seminars was used in this service. This service targeted the mothers in the village of Sei Merah, Deli Serdang Regency. The evaluation instrument for this activity used a questionnaire and interviews, which were then analyzed descriptively. The results of this service indicated that pregnant women's level of understanding of nutrition was still low because they had never followed counseling guidance. However, after this service seminar was conducted, there was a change in increasing the understanding of mothers regarding stunting prevention, namely by steps of (1) fulfilling nutrition during pregnancy, (2) fulfilling child nutrition optimally, (3) practicing proper hygiene, (4) overcoming children who have difficulty eating, and (5) consultation with the health care team.

Research seminars are a staple within biology and other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) departments across academic institutions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, academic institutions across the U.S. had to rapidly transition courses, research programs, and other events from in-person to virtual environments—and departmental research seminars were no exception. We explored the perceptions of biology department seminar speakers and organizers regarding the benefits and challenges they experienced in the virtual format. We asked three primary research questions: (1) What challenges and benefits do invited seminar speakers in biology departments perceive regarding presenting seminars in the virtual environment? (2) What challenges and benefits do organizers of biology department seminars perceive regarding organizing seminars in the virtual environment? (3) How did biology department seminars change during the transition from an in-person to virtual format? In total, 39 seminar organizers and 90 seminar speakers completed surveys focused on their perceptions of virtual seminars. Using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis, we found that numerous benefits and challenges are perceived by seminar speakers and organizers regarding virtual seminars. Speakers and organizers perceived similar benefits of virtual seminars including accessibility and diversity, while perceived challenges included the loss of professional networking opportunities and academic community. There was overwhelming consensus from speakers and organizers alike that virtual departmental seminars are professionally and academically valuable. However, while speakers’ chief motivator was in furthering their own networks, research collaborations, and research visibility, organizers primarily valued their own students’ or trainees’ career development as well as their own departmental community. Together, these findings demonstrate the potential benefits of continuing virtual seminars outside of the context of the COVID-19 pandemic from an equity perspective while also highlighting issues that must be addressed by organizers and attendees to ensure seminars retain their value.

Abstract Increasing access, representation, and retention of underrepresented groups is essential across academia. Invited speaker seminars are common practice in academic science departments and serve to disseminate research, establish connections and collaborations, advance faculty careers, and connect trainees to mentors outside of departmental faculty. Thus, lack of representation among seminar speakers can affect both faculty and trainee professional development. This study characterizes gender demographics of seminar speakers across science departments at an R1 institution for the years 2015–2019, using pronoun usage as a proxy for gender identity. We found that most faculty and invited speakers were male, and few were female or nonbinary. The percentage of female and nonbinary invited speakers increased from 2015–2019 along with the percentage of female and nonbinary host faculty. Overall, male faculty hosted fewer female and nonbinary speakers than their female and nonbinary faculty colleagues. This study provides evidence for a correlation between faculty identity and the scientists they host at their department and motivates further studies investigating this relationship at other R1 institutions and institution types.

The International Research Cooperation Information Center has carried out a project to collect the DBs related to the international research cooperation information, and build an online service system. This study seeks to examine and understand the trends of international research cooperation by analyzing the data corresponding to the other international cooperation DBs such as symposium and seminar, which may be said to be the arena of cooperation by the international research cooperation related experts, among the international research cooperation information DBs collected by the International Research Cooperation Information Center. The other international cooperation DBs are divided into the international cooperation consortium, international cooperation symposium, international research cooperation seminar, international training program, international research cooperation workshop, and the international research cooperation equipment / facility. It seems that, based on the research results, it is necessary to hold international cooperation programs, seminars, and workshops, among others, with a focus on the themes to recover the trends of international cooperation as in the past, and recover from the pandemic situation. The results of this study may be utilized as the basic data for the researchers related to the international research cooperation, and furthermore, by analyzing various international research cooperation information DBs in a multi-faceted manner, the studies analyzing the research trends of international research cooperation by field, subject, and type may be conducted, and the facilitation of the international research cooperation in Korea is expected moving forward.

The article examines the international activities of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at Kyiv Borys Grinchenko University. The department actively cooperates with foreign universities and participates in a large number of international programs, among which Erasmus + is known to many. Students of the department also take an active part in international activities, win grant programs. Teachers and administration do their best to conclude the most successful agreements for both parties and to provide students with more opportunities for development. Thus, the article aims to explain why modernization of education is needed, to emphasize the need for international contacts and their benefits.

The article addresses the problem of higher education didactics and emphasizes methodological aspects of the case study-based seminar. After disclosing several main aspects based on the specialized literature analysis, some specific aspects of the case study-based seminar in higher pedagogical education are stated. Examples from primary education teaching staff university training practice at “Ion Creanga” State Pedagogical University of Chisinau are suggested, and a methodological model for case study-based seminar in higher pedagogical education is generalized.

Objective: To determine the impact of the information seminar on breast cancer awareness among the medical and nursing students of CMH institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) Multan Pakistan. Study Design: Prospective Comparative Study. Place and Duration of Study: One-day seminar at CMH Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) Multan Pakistan. Methodology: A one-day seminar on breast cancer awareness was arranged at CMH Institute of Medical Sciences Multan Pakistan for 3rd and 4th-year MBBS and 3rd-year BSc Nursing students. A total of 137 participants were recruited. Participants were selected by non-probability consecutive sampling. A validated 13-question questionnaire was designed to assess participants' basic knowledge of breast cancer and breast self-examination (BSE). Results: The mean age of participants was 21.27±0.99 years. 30(21.9%) were males and 107(78.1%) were female students.Before the seminar, approximately half of the students were correct about the demographics and presentation of breast cancer which increased to more than 80% in all avenues post-seminar (p

Service-learning is growing gradually in European higher education. It aims to instil a sense of civic engagement and responsibility in students and work towards positive social change within society while developing curricular competencies. For some advocates, Paulo Freire’s workings would serve as a theoretical anchor for service-learning since he imagined education as fostering a critical and active citizenry. This paper addresses the influence his writings have had on European practitioners. Qualitative data collected by the EOSLHE has been analysed and a content analysis was made of the descriptive summaries of 144 experiences. The Freirean notion of seminar applied to service-learning systematises popular wisdom and contributes to a new sense of evolving the social identities of the students toward a fairer society.

Although statistical literacy has become a key competence in today’s data-driven society, it is usually not a part of statistics education. To address this issue, we propose an innovative concept for a conference-like seminar on the topic of statistical literacy. This seminar draws attention to the relevance and importance of statistical literacy, and moreover, students are made aware of the process of science communication and are introduced to the peer review process for the assessment of scientific papers. In the summer term 2020, the seminar was conducted as a joint project by the University of Hamburg, the University of Muenster, and the Joachim Herz Foundation. In this article, we present the concept of the seminar and our experience with this concept in the summer term 2020.

Актуализация рефлексии опыта применения дистанционных технологий в подготовке педагога связана как с общим интересом к таким технологиям в педагогической науке последних лет, так и с необходимостью осмысления методических наработок, появившихся в условиях пандемии и временного перехода на полностью дистанционное обучение. Объектом анализа, проводимого на основе опыта Томского государственного педагогического университета, являются варианты применения различных форм и способов дистанционной работы с будущими педагогами. Материалом для анализа является опыт работы преподавателей и студентов в системах BigBlueButton и Moodle, полученный в течение 2020 г. Выявлены положительные результаты применения дистанционных образовательных технологий: повышение уровня подготовки будущего учителя в области информационных технологий; интенсификация работы обучающихся в связи с изменением форм контроля; освоение студентами новых форм и способов работы с историческими источниками и литературой. Показано, что дистанционное обучение может проводиться без снижения качества предметной подготовки. Вместе с тем дистанционные образовательные технологии имеют существенные недостатки, которые касаются проблем коммуникации педагога и аудитории. На данном этапе они не позволяют в полной мере развить у будущего педагога навыки публичного выступления, работы с большой аудиторией. Решение данной проблемы может являться предметом дальнейших дискуссий. Материалы статьи могут быть использованы в учебном процессе высших учебных заведений.

After-class clinical oriented anatomy seminar was an extracurricular course in their spare time organized by medical students. Held in step with the anatomy curriculum, the seminars allowed active involvement of medical students to enhance their understanding of key anatomical knowledge and at the same time stimulate the early development of clinical reasoning capacity.Reshaping the anatomical teaching approach, the seminars now have become a unique teaching program well received by students and faculty in Peking Union Medical College.

The existing method for environmental flow assessment in China only focuses on specific target species.Considering this deficiency,a holistic approach,i.e.,building block methodology (BBM),is elaborately introduced for evaluating environmental flow.According to the scientific basis and actual needs,this method accurately divides the research objects and influencing factors in the whole study area into different “blocks” and then explores the relationship between each “block” of influencing factors and each research object.Finally,a reasonable environmental flow scheme is drawn up for the whole study area.Its working steps are mainly divided into three parts:Before the seminar,experts collect the basic data;during the seminar,experts from various disciplines explain the collected data and reach a consensus on the recommended environmental flow;after the seminar,they develop the flow modification scheme and the monitoring plan.With the application examples of Sri Ram Sagar Reservoir in India and Daleeleva River in Norway,we analyze the characteristics and shortcomings of this method.It is revealed that this method can better ensure the ecological value and service value of rivers in the process of determining environmental flow and can provide a reference for its application in China.

Perkembangan teknologi informasi di Era sekarang ini sangat pesat, salah satunya adalah Qr Code. Quick Response Code (Qr Code) adalah bentuk evolusi kode batang dari satu dimensi menjadi dua dimensi. Dalam sebuah acara seminar, peserta harus mendaftar terlebih dahulu untuk mendapatkan tiket yang digunakan untuk masuk kedalam acara seminar dan tiket tersebut masih menggunakan tiket dalam bentuk kertas atau yang biasa disebut dengan tiket konvensional. Untuk mengatasi masalah yang terjadi maka diperlukan sistem pendaftaran siminar online dengan tiket berbasis Qr Code. Tujuan dibuatnya sistem ini adalah untuk meningkatkan efisiensi waktu dalam pendaftaran di sebuah seminar. Sistem ini memanfaatkan Qr Code sebagai komponen utama dimana Qr Code sebagai primary key yang berisi data user dan webcam sebagai alat untuk membaca data Qr Code pada tiket yang diunduh oleh user serta Personal Computer (PC) untuk menjalankan sistem yang sudah dibangun. Sistem ini dibuat dengan bahasa pemrograman hypertext prepocessor (PHP) dengan framework Bootstrap dan MySQL untuk database. Perancangan sistem ini menggunakan metode System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Hasil dari pengujian yang dilakukan oleh client dan user menggunakan metode blackbox telah berhasil sesuai dengan tujuan program dibuat yaitu membantu proses pendaftaran agar lebih efisien. Berdasarkan pengujian dengan membagikan kuesioner yang diberikan kepada calon pengguna dapat diketahui sebanyak 91.47% responden setuju jika sistem ini efisien dan layak untuk digunakan.

Questo lavoro si misura con alcune proposte del recente libro di Constanze Güthenke Feeling and Classical Philology (Cambridge, 2020) e ne discute, in particolare, il contributo alla storiografia delle emozioni: un campo di indagine che acquisisce particolare rilevanza nell’esplorazione dello sviluppo storico degli studi classici. This paper engages with some key arguments of Constanze Güthenke’s recent book Feeling and Classical Philology (Cambridge, 2020) and discusses in particular its contribution to the history of emotions: a field of investigation that proves especially relevant to the exploration of the historical development of classical scholarship.

Introduction. Considerable changes in the world of professions, the intensity of production and consumption of new knowledge, strengthening of a communicative component of professional activity are characteristic features of post-industrial society. Workers who have such professional and psychological qualities as self-control, psychological self-control and ability to operate own emotions and emotions of people around (partners and colleagues) are more in demand in labour market. In this regard, the problem of emotional competency formation of future experts is becoming topical in the system of vocational training.The aim of this paper is to generalize the results of the study on the sustainable development of student emotional intelligence by means of active forms of education (training sessions and workshops).Methodology and research methods. The research methodology is based on the model concept of “Emotional Intelligence” developed by D. V. Lyusin. During the experiment, the method of D. V. Lyusin’s questionnaire EmIn (Emotional Intelligence), D. P. Gilford’s Social Intelligence Test and also the authors’ set of toolkits (tasks for recognition of facial expression and detection of the active dictionary of emotions) were applied.Results and scientific novelty. The authors proved the importance of the high level of emotional intelligence for the modern person irrespective of the sphere of professional employment. The main zones of this type of intelligence and their structural components which should be developed in future experts were highlighted. Features and conditions of formation of practical and academic intelligence were designated. Having tested the hypothesis, it was revealed that social and psychological training is aimed at promoting the acquisition and development of practical intelligence; workshop sessions contribute to academic intelligence. According to hypothetical statements, the authors have developed two options for the experimental course included in the schedule of student’s groups (similar in characteristics) of Ural Federal University (Yekaterinburg). Results of both forms of training (training sessions and workshops) have confirmed the validity of the assumptions made. To clarify the degree of stability of purposefully created emotional intelligence, repeated diagnostics of the competencies mastered by students was carried out one and a half years after. The comparative analysis of outcome indicators of the forming experiment and the revealed residual knowledge and skills has shown not only firmness of psychological changes in students in the field of emotional competency, but also the start of mechanisms of its self-development.Practical significance. Contrary to the opinions of a number of scientists that the emotional intelligence does not change significantly through studentship as main development comes to the end during the teenage period, the authors have proved potential opportunities of increase in the level of emotional competency in the higher education institution. Materials of the research offer prospects for detailed studying of the mechanisms which start and support steady self-development of the emotional intelligence of future experts to provide their continuing competitiveness in rapidly changing social and economic realities.

Questioned document examiners from forensic science organizations supervised by Voronezh Reginal Center of Forensic Science of the Russian Ministry of Justice gathered for a meeting to discuss current issues arising in the conduct of ink dating examinations in some of the regions, and to consider possible solutions. Key concerns relating to examination requests were also addressed.

In this article key problems of ensuring of historical component in training of economists and managers as a whole and separate economic subjects specifically are discussed. The shorts in the contemporary economic education, that are closely associated with historical training limiting, are covered. Some methodic issues of teaching of the historical and simultaneously economic subjects are discussed also.

Abstract We describe a case study of a third-year undergraduate class in Enterprise Education. A blended learning design in the form of a flipped classroom with a duration of one semester, was explored in two cohorts. The question was to explore how students experienced the flipped class for learning and how this approach presented the different presences in the Community of Inquiry (CoI), and its revisions. The online learning components represented the individual learning space, where the main resource was bespoke videos that replaced lectures and complemented the textbook and other learning material. The classroom hosted a business school-style seminar where students in small groups engaged in solving a new business case study, going through phases of developing a concept to presenting the group solutions to the class. It aimed at fostering active learning both inside and outside the class. Students participated in the activities to apply the theory in new cases. The teacher facilitated the sessions, provided direction and correction as needed. The research used mixed methods consisting of trace data, quantitative and qualitative student feedback to explore how suitable the flipped classroom in undergraduate education was towards developing deep learning. The online individual learning space yielded highly salient Teaching Presences, accompanied by evidence of Agency Presence, characterised by independent activity and personal learning preferences. Online videos and ICT resources helped with understanding the theory ahead of class meetings. Seminars in the collaborative space fostered deep learning of the theory, and enabled students to apply the prepared theory in case studies and solve problems. Integration and particularly Resolution in Cognitive Presence of CoI featured in the seminars, while Social Presence was the weakest. Suggestions are made to implement the flipped class principles in an online class.

Latar belakang. Kualitas tumbuh kembang balita ditentukan oleh nutrisi, kasih sayang, stimulasi, dan perlindungan terhadap penyakit. Ibu sebagai pengasuh utama anak berperan penting mengoptimalkan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak, sehingga harus memiliki sikap yang baik tentang pemantauan tumbuh kembang saat kunjungan ke tenaga kesehatan. Peningkatan pengetahuan Ibu dapat dilakukan dengan edukasi dan pelatihan. Tujuan. Menganalisis efektivitas seminar pada perubahan sikap ibu dalam pemberian dukungan nutrisi dan stimulasi selama pemantauan tumbuh kembang. Metode. Penelitian desain potong lintang dengan kuesioner pre dan post intervensi dilakukan pada ibu dengan balita. Perubahan sikap ibu dievaluasi dalam pemantauan tumbuh kembang anaknya. Intervensi berupa seminar mengenai kesehatan anak yang diadakan di 6 kota besar di Indonesia dengan purposive sampling peserta yang mengisi lengkap kuesioner. Analisis data digunakan metode paired T-test dalam software IBM SPSS statistics versi 22. Hasil. Terdapat 617 ibu yang mengisi lengkap kuesioner yang diberikan dalam seminar. BACKGROUND: Increase in competitive demands has led to the promotion of seminar presentation by the students to increase active learning and for the assessment of learning. Portfolios are an important tool for assessment for learning. The objectives of the study were to compare the gain in knowledge among the conventional and the blended seminar groups (intervention group), analyze the working portfolios to assess for learning, and to gather the perception of students. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This was an interventional study (2016) with convenience sampling that included 27 students each in the conventional and interventional groups. It was conducted in a medical college in central India. The conventional group was teacher led and the blended seminar group was student led with interaction with the students regarding the contents of the portfolio. Student's unpaired and paired t tests were used for statistical analysis. P < 0.05 was considered as the level of significance. Class average normalized gain (g) was used as a measure of effectiveness of the intervention. Quantitative questions were analyzed using percentages and qualitative data using categorization. RESULTS: Significant difference was found between the conventional and intervention groups (P < 0.05) with gain “g” being 0.52 for the intervention group. On evaluation of the feedback, students commented regarding its interactive nature and progress during the learning process. The reflections were coded as text as the unit of coding and student as the unit of coding. It was also found that the students who were critical reflectors were the ones who scored > 50% in the posttest scores. CONCLUSION: The present study showed that seminar when blended with portfolio yielded positive results in the process of learning, and hence was effective in assessment for learning.

Background: Knowledge and training in research skills and knowledge of research in early career have been related with continued professional growth and helps to produce good future researchers in society. Central Council of Indian Medicine has recently introduced research methodology as a subject in the final year of the Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) curriculum. Hence, we designed a seminar training program for final year BAMS students to assess Knowledge, Attitude, and Aptitude toward Research Methodology and Medical Statistics among final year BAMS students and to evaluate the impact of 2-day seminar of this subject. Methodology: An interventional study has been carried out for 2 days 9th and 10th August 2016. Out of 77 enrolled participants, 64 were assessed by predefined, tested, and validated questionnaires for knowledge attitude and aptitude before and after seminar training. Feedback of students about their outlooks and problems was also taken in focused group discussion. Results: Out of 77 enrolled participants, 11 participants were absent and 66 were present. Out of 66 who attended 2 dropouts, and 64 participants successfully completed. Out of 66 who attended 10 were males and 56 were females. Significant impact of the seminar was found to sensitize in all three domains. Nonparametric correlation was also presented between knowledge attitude and aptitude (ŕ = 0.4757 and ŕ = 0.2614). Many of Ayurveda students also talked about the unavailability of teachers and books for this subject. They also demanded interpathy mixed trainers for such training. Conclusion: Such type of seminar training is beneficial for the students. Compulsory training of 2–3 days for undergraduate students at the university level would definitely be a positive step to develop interest for this newly included subject at the undergraduate level.

Introduction. Persecutions of the Christian Church in Soviet period inRussia had a negative impact on religious education being neutralized and assigned a specific status as illegal for a long period of time inRussia. Since rebuilding of church life in Post-Soviet period called for the highly educated clergy. This task was laid down on the spiritual schools and seminaries brought back in different regions of the country.Aim. There are three primary aims of the publication: to consider the process of rebirth of spiritual and religious education in the southern part of the Russian Far East; to show the results achieved today; to consider the prospects of theological education development in the near and distant future.Methodology and research methods. The methodological basis of the research consists of: a systematic literature review of studies, based on the system and historical approaches, to present detailed analysis of the research topic; the data received during the polls and interviews of participants and witnesses of educational spiritual religious institutions’ establishment in theFar East.Results and scientific novelty. The centers of spiritual education in the Far East are designated –Vladivostok,Khabarovsk andBlagoveshchensk. The educational policy of representatives of the church elite presented is not always positive while under the influence of the processes currently occurring in secular educati on. In the context of reform, there is a search of the new organizational solutions and ways to deal with a problem of shortage of specialists in regional dioceses. In this research, for the first time, an attempt was made to describe the Post-Soviet stage in religious education. The end of the recovery period, a historical milestone of development of spiritual education, is recorded.Practical significance. The materials and conclusions provided by the author can be used while designing and developing the courses in History of the Russian Education, Ecclesiastic History, and Regional Studies as well.

The article analyzes class attendance in different forms of education: traditional and blended ones. Literature review shows that attendance is linked with students' academic performance. The author gained the data on attendance of seminars by the 4th-year students in the biological department ofMSU and applied mathematical methods to process the data. The attendance of seminars by students has been analyzed in two educational forms: traditional learning (face-to-face classroom seminars were accompanied by autonomous paper work) and blended learning (face-to-face classroom seminars were accompanied by autonomous work on a specially created educational wiki website). The results show that blended learning, more than traditional learning contributes to the formation of a high level of attendance.

The Medical University of Karakalpakstan in Nukus, Uzbekistan, as host, in collaboration with the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, and the Saint-Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University from Russia, in May 2020 organized an online seminar with the title “COVID-19 – sharing experiences of Medical Universities”. Indeed the pandemic has hit many countries throughout the world with unexpected force and healthcare systems often were not prepared. That experience clearly showed the need for international cooperation and coordination. It was a sad observation that instead often mistrust and national egoism prevailed.

The paper presents the outcomes of the All-Russian Seminar “Forensic economics under present conditions”, which brought together specialists working at forensic science organizations of the Russian Ministry of Justice. The seminar took place on October 3–7, 2016 in the town of Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad region.

Actuality. The topic of teaching economic disciplines has always been relevant and useful. The article considers the technique of organization and of the seminar-dispute on economic subjects. In this paper there are also identified criteria for evaluating the participants of the seminar-dispute. Methods of teaching economic disciplines in higher education are held by holding lectures and seminars. The seminar provides an opportunity to determine the degree of independence and responsibility, to rise creativity in every student. The purpose is to disclose the main objectives of the seminar-dispute, which as a result of the preliminary work on the program material, the teacher and students are in a situation of direct active communication during performance of students on topics arising between discussion and generalizations by teacher, bu solving the problem of cognitive, developmental and educational character that imparted methodological and practical skills to students. Methods. Logical and descriptive, monographic, analysis and synthesis. Results. It should be concluded that in preparation for the seminar, students acquire the skills to work with the book, read the analysis, selection of the main and necessary speeches for the report, , and systematizing the selected materials. Students learn to clearly express their thoughts, work out the ability to speak without papers to prove their beliefs, to establish contact with the audience, etc. Accordingly, it is best to choose the topics of the seminar where the student must not only learn certain information, but also find a solution. One of the most popular forms of classes in the framework of methodological approaches to the teaching of economic disciplines is a seminar-dispute.

This short paper is a note on the Encuentro práctico de profesores de ELE organized by I-House and Difusión publishing house, together with the Instituto Cervantes. Firstly, we put the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language in context. Secondly, we present the practical meetings as a successful way of innovating in the field. After an overview of the ones celebrated in several European cities, we focus on the one held in Poland which the present writer attended last year. Finally, we confirm that, in comparison with those in previous years, the practical meeting at the Instituto Cervantes in Krakow is still varied, high- quality and enriching for teachers

In March 2015 in Kyrgystan took place the Days of Russian language and Russian education. Events were organized in the framework of the Federal target program “Russian language”. During the meetings with teachers of Russian were given lectures, conducted workshops, contests, exhibitions of modern teaching materials and manuals. Workshop participants were awarded certificates of advanced training.

The article deals with theoretical and practical aspects of active and interactive teaching ca-dets and students of specialized high school of FPS of Russia. The author examines the possi-bility of improving the professional training of the officers of penitentiary system during high school education through the use of a variety of interactive technologies in lectures, seminars, workshops, business games, and others. The Educational standards of the third generation provide for the relationship of fundamental and practical training, require further updating the content, forms, methods and means of education in institutes of FPS of Russia from a position of competence approach. The paper addresses the problem of decreasing efficiency of academic staff training in Russian universities. The developed Conceptionof increasing the efficiency of post-graduate and doctoral training at KemSU implies: the creation of the «School of the young scientist»; exhibitions of undergraduates’, graduates’ and doctoral students’ works; organising projects competitions. One of the tools suggested in theConception is a methodological seminar which may help to understand the nature and the structure of the thesis, to see clearly the algorithm of its creation, to find the motivation for the next level of academic qualification. The intellectual gainings of the participants of the first methodological seminar are presented.

The purpose of this essay was to investigate whether the seminar was necessary and effective in terms of helping graduate students in TESOL program at Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMC OU) conduct their thesis. Fifty-six questionnaire papers were collected out of 100 deliveries. Descriptive statistics of SPSS vs. 19 was employed to analyze the data. In terms of qualitative data, some suggestions from the students at the last part of the questionnaire were analyzed. The study revealed that the seminar was found to be essential and have great effects on graduate students at HCMC OU. In addition, the students requested to hold seminars for them not only during the coursework periods but also during the time they were conducting their thesis.

The paper reports on the outcomes of the seminar «Current issues in forensic video and audio analysis» organized by RFCFS and Kaliningrad Forensic Science Laboratory. Beyond a seminar about the life and work of the teacher and poetess, the events had included an exposition of her private records' pieces, recently incorporated into the Archives of the IEB; and a recital that had presented the première of songs recently composed by Almeida Prado on some Lupe Cotrim's poems.
