Abstract

The photoabsorption properties of the fluorescent protein asFP595 chromophore molecule are studied in biologically relevant protonation states. The results have shown that the anionic form in the trans conformation possess the most red-shifted absorption band and the bands of the zwitterionic and neutral forms are blue-shifted when compared to those of the anionic form.

Abstract

A comparative study of the obtained theoretical and experimental data of the photodissociation of protonated 3-OH kynurenine and argpyrimidine is presented. The results confirm that the photodestruction of these molecules takes place in vacuum, as well as in the liquid phase.
