Abstract

Tetragonal PbTi[O.sub.3] under in-plane biaxial stress is examined from using first principles. The studies have shown that the biaxial stress has increased the piezoelectric stress coefficients, whereas the biaxial compressive stress has increased the piezoelectric strain coefficients.
