Abstract

A progress report on the development of Inner grade strands and cables for the Superconducting Super Collider Laboratory's dipole magnets is presented. The work, which entails research into the production of superconductors, is ongoing at IGC Advanced Superconductors Inc. So far, it has fabricated 12 Phase 1A and nine Phase 1B billets. The two are characterized in terms of their mechanical behavior, superconductivity and cable performance.
