Abstract

The intrinsic n-type doping limits of tin oxide (Sn[O.sub.2]) and indium oxide ([In.sub.2][O.sub.3]) are predicted based on the formation energies calculated by the density-functional theory by using the hybrid-functional method. The results have indicated that higher conductivities similar to [In.sub.2][O.sub.3] are attained by using appropriate dopants in Sn[O.sub.2].
