Abstract

An experiment was conducted to determine heat transfer coefficients and heat transfer rates at varying agitation rates in peach juices warmed in an agitated jacketed vessel containing different agitators rate and to establish the relationships between heat transfer and power. Two equations were derived for the density and rheological behavior of peach juice based on the combined effects of temperature and soluble solids content. The study and its results are discussed.

Abstract

The results obtained with a set of AFLP markers in a study of 59 pig breeds are described. A discussion is presented on the hypothesis underlying the moment estimations and various issues relating to the biallelic, dominant and lowly polymorphic nature of this set of AFLP markers and about their use as compared to microsatellites for measuring genetic diversity.
