Abstract

Research was conducted to examine the origin of the difference between measured alternating current loss and that of the short sample test. Current distribution analysis of the cable and equivalent magnetic field analysis were performed. The eddy current loss in the former and the stabilizer was measured using the disassembled data of cable 'N.' Results show that the axial field due to disordered pitch of conductor and shield tapes has trivial impact on the eddy current loss in the stabilizer.
