Abstract

The stoichiometric functionalization of cyclohexane by (FeX2-(TPA))+/ROOH facilitates the analysis of a nonheme iron catalized alkane C-H bond cleavage mechanism. The nonheme species influences functionalization exclusively at the allylic positron, and cyclohexene is not epoxidized by the nonheme species. A two-electron oxidant plays a role in the reaction mechanism.
