Abstract

Dissociation rates are measured by multiphoton ionization and time-resolved photodissociation for benzene-d6(super .+), naphtalene-h8(super .+), naphthalene-d8(super .+), and azulene-h8(super .+) employing a quadrupole ion trap/reflectron mass spectrometer. The result shows calculations that demonstrate the isomerization of azulene(super .+) to naphthalene(super .+) below the dissociation limit of benzocyclobutadiene(super .+) + acetylene.
