Abstract

The concentration levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in sediment cores obtained from Lake Michigan are studied as part of a fossil fuel research. Multiple linear regression is applied to a model representing the sediment cores to establish their respective PAH sources. Results indicate that coal has been a significant source of PAH with a a share of 10 to 80 percent of the total PAH value.

Abstract

The copolymerization of ethyene with olefins containing w-ether functionalities using (alpha-dimine)-Pd-catalysts has been described. In this reaction, deactivation of the catalyst occurs due to formation of inert cationic (eta(super 3)-allylpalladium species via alcohol elimination.
