Abstract

Several experimental studies are conducted to explain the impact of the plated metal film on the heat dissipation capability and performance of the helix slow-wave structure (SWS). The cold characteristics of the SWS are shown to be highly affected by the side-plated rods.

The study employs an effective thermal analysis method using ANSYS, which is utilized to study the heat-dissipation capacity of a helix traveling-wave-tube (TWT) slow-wave structure (SWS). The approach has shown to be extremely consistent and feasible.
