A 65-year-old patient with prostate adenocarcinoma was explored by 18F-fluorocholine (FCH) PET/CT for pretreatment staging because of a high risk of prostate cancer. Images showed multiple foci with increased uptake of 18F-FCH within some pelvic and retroperitoneal lymph nodes, osseous foci (iliac bones and sacrum), and much more unusual, increased uptake foci within some left supraclavicular and left axillary lymph nodes. Owing to the rarity of spread to supraclavicular lymph nodes, surgical removal was performed and revealed prostate cancer metastases.

This study demonstrates inducible transgenic expression in the exceptionally short-lived turquoise killifish Nothobranchius furzeri, which is a useful vertebrate model for ageing research. Transgenic N. furzeri bearing a green fluorescent protein (Gfp) containing construct under the control of a heat shock protein 70 promoter were generated, heat shock-induced and reversible Gfp expression was demonstrated and germline transmission of the transgene to the F1 and F2 generations was achieved. The availability of this inducible transgenic expression system will make the study of ageing-related antagonistically pleiotropic genes possible using this unique vertebrate model organism., (© 2013 The Authors. We report two cases of severe dengue fever in persons returned from stays in endemic areas during the summer outbreak of 2010. Both presented a hemorrhagic syndrome associated with primary hemostasis disorders, neutropenia, and severe hepatic cytolysis without any hepatocellular insufficiency. Three days after hospitalization, the first patient's AST and ALT levels rose to 80 and 12 times the upper reference values respectively, and the second patient's to 12 and 7 times those values. The second also presented signs of hemodynamic shock. Our observations suggest that the combination of severe hepatic cytolysis and hemostatic disorders may be a predictive marker of the severity of dengue fever. The pathophysiologic mechanisms explaining this severity remain unknown.
