In 72 patients with chronic hepatitis C aged 18 to 62 years evaluated the clinical efficacy Ribavine in combination therapy with interferon-alpha. The safety, good tolerability and efficacy Ribavine. Persistent virological and biochemical response in the application of interferon-alpha and Ribavine obtained from 47,5 to 53,1%. Recurrence rate was 32,5% in patients with genotype 1 and 21,9% with genotype 2 and 3. Side effects of Ribavine are reversible and leveled after the completion of therapy.

As many as 95 patients with generalized form of yersiniosis and 66 patients with scarlatiniform pseudotuberculosis were examined. Atypical mononuclears were detected in the peripheral blood of 23.2% of patients with yersiniosis and 13.6% of those with pseudotuberculosis. In 83.9% their numbers varied from 2 to 9% and in 16.1% only their count amounted to 10-11%. Clinical symptoms occurring in patients with yersiniosis (fever, changes in the fauces, exanthema, polyadenopathy, affection of the liver) are revealed with varying frequency in infectious mononucleosis. But as far as the condition under consideration is concerned, exanthema occurs in rare cases only; diarrhea, arthralgia, hypertrophy of the lingual papillae are not characteristic of it. Mononuclear reaction of blood of the patients with yersiniosis and pseudotuberculosis was of short duration and was rather weak.

The clinical manifestations of generalized yersiniosis were studied in 61 patients. Primary generalized form was observed in 18 patients. Predecessors were gastroenteritis, appendicular syndrome. Clinical manifestations were polymorphous. All patients revealed fever and exanthema, 5%--catarrhal phenomena, 63.3%--lymphadenitis, 86%--arthralgia, 39.2%--gastrointestinal disorders, 114%--icteric syndrome. In 7.6% the course was protracted with recurrences of fever, exanthema, jaundice, diarrhea, formation of arthritis, Reiter's syndrome. Antibacterial treatment was carried out by aminoglycosides, cephalosporins.

The authors observed 41 patients with pseudotuberculosis. In 32 patients, the abdominal syndrome predominated in the clinical course. For this reason, the appendectomy was performed in 30 of them. In 9 patients, the lingering, relapsing course of pseudotuberculosis was noted after the operation.

The authors' findings evidence that measurements of cationic protein levels is a sufficiently informative test in the complex of investigations that help predict the course of acute pneumonia and the therapeutic efficacy of drugs stimulating the nonspecific resistance of the body. Combined therapy with the use of methyluracil and eleutherococcus is more effective for pneumonia patients than the complex including aloe and antibacterial and symptomatic agents alone.
