Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The cortex of Eleutherococcus henryi (EH, Araliaceae), also known as "Wu-Jia-Pi", is known for its effects such as dispelling wind and dampness, calming the mind and enhancing intelligence, removing heat and toxin, strengthening muscles and bones, and nourishing the liver and kidneys. Throughout Chinese history and tradition, it has been used for conditions like amnesia, mental fatigue, arthritis, hepatitis, and rheumatism. However, research evaluating its neuroprotective effects and pharmacological properties remains scarce., Aim of the Study: The goal is to explore the anti-neuroinflammatory properties of EH in vitro and to discover precisely the bioactive natural products within the medicinal plant that are relevant to its traditional usage., Materials and Methods: Utilizing chromatographic techniques, a phytochemical exploration was conducted. The phytochemical structures of the natural products were then elucidated through an analysis involving comprehensive spectra and a comparison with relevant data from published studies. Network pharmacology combined with molecular dynamics simulations (MDs) and docking were applied to forecast potential anti-neuroinflammatory targets of active compounds. In vitro, the anti-neuroinflammatory efficacy was evaluated via the suppression of inflammatory mediators activated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in BV2 microglia., Results: The methanol extract of E.henryi (EHME) restrained the NO release in LPS-activated BV2 microglia, demonstrating anti-neuroinflammatory activity. Subsequently, chemical composition analysis revealed the separation and elucidation of 31 secondary metabolites, comprising 7 new compounds (1-7) and 1 new natural product (8). Based on LPS-induced BV2 cell in vitro activity tests, compounds 4-17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 29 and 31 were found to exhibit potential anti-neuroinflammatory activity, with compound 6 showing the highest efficacy. Furthermore, employing network pharmacology in conjunction with both molecular docking and MDs, potential anti-neuroinflammatory targets of compound 6 were predicted to include TLR4, Src, MAPK, and NF-κB. Abstract: Background: The kidney is the most commonly affected organ in sepsis patients, and Krüppel-like transcription factor 15 (KLF15) has a kidney-protective effect and is highly enriched in the kidneys. This study aims to explore the role of KLF15 in sepsis-related acute kidney injury. Methods: A septic injury model in HK2 cells was established through the administration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS), followed by the transfection of an overexpression plasmid for KLF15. Cell viability was assessed using Cell Counting Kit-8 assay, and apoptosis was measured via flow cytometry. The levels of inflammatory cytokines were detected using ELISA, and western blot assay was employed to assess the expression of KLF15, PPARδ, as well as inflammatory and apoptosis-related proteins. The interaction between KLF15 and PPARδ was confirmed through the utilization of online databases and immunoprecipitation experiments. The mechanism was further validated using PPARδ agonists and small interfering RNA. Results: LPS-induced HK2 cells showed downregulated expression of KLF15 and PPARδ, along with decreased viability, accompanied by increased levels of apoptosis, TNFα, IL-1β, and IL-6. Additionally, LPS upregulated the expression of Bax, cytoplasmic cytochrome C [Cytc (cyt)], Cox-2, and p-NF-κB-p65 in HK2 cells, while simultaneously downregulating the expression of Bcl2 and mitochondrial cytochrome c [Cytc (mit)]. immunoprecipitation experiment revealed a possible interaction between KLF15 and PPARδ in HK2 cells. Ov-KLF15, Ov-PPARδ, or administration of PPARδ agonists effectively alleviated the aforementioned alterations induced by LPS. However, interference with PPARδ significantly attenuated the protective effect of Ov-KLF15 on HK2 cells. Background and Aim: Inflammatory diseases often result in bone loss due to persistent inflammation, which activates osteoclasts and increases bone resorption. Oxysophocarpine (OSC), a bioalkaloid extracted from the roots of Sophora japonica and other leguminous plants, has neuroprotective and anti-tumor properties. However, it is still uncertain whether OSC can effectively inhibit the differentiation of osteoclasts and bone resorption. Therefore, this study explored the potential role of OSC in osteoclast formation and inflammatory osteolysis and its underlying mechanisms., Experimental Procedure: This study involved inducing primary mouse bone marrow macrophages (BMMs) into osteoclasts using macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) and receptor activator of NF-κB ligand (RANKL) and examined the effects of OSC on osteoclast (OC) differentiation, function, and intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. The impact of OSC on the expression of osteoclast-specific genes and inflammation-related factors was assessed using real-time quantitative PCR. Additionally, changes in oxidative stress-related factors, NF-κB, and MAPK signaling pathways were examined using western blotting. Finally, this study investigated the influence of OSC on a mouse cranial bone resorption model induced by titanium (Ti) particles in vivo., Results: OSC inhibited OC differentiation and resorption and reduces intracellular ROS levels. Moreover, OSC suppressed IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6, and osteoclast-specific gene transcription while increasing Nrf2 and HO-1 protein expression. Furthermore, OSC inhibited the expression and autoregulation of the NFATc1 gene, ultimately leading to a reduction in Ti particle-induced bone resorption in mice., Conclusion: OSC could be regarded as an innovative medication for the treatment of osteoclast-associated inflammatory osteolytic diseases., (© 2024. Probiotics regulate intestinal flora balance and enhance the intestinal barrier, which is useful in preventing and treating colitis. However, they have strict storage requirements. In addition, they degrade in a strongly acidic environment, resulting in a significant decrease in their activity when used as microbial agents. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) was loaded into acid-resistant and colon-targeting double-layer microgels. The inner layer consists of guar gum (GG) and low methoxyl pectin (LMP), which can achieve retention and degradation in the colon. To achieve colon localization, the outer layer was composed of chitosan (CS) and sodium alginate (SA). The formulation demonstrated favorable bio-responses across various pH conditions in vitro and sustained release of LGG in the colon lesions. Bare LGG survival decreased by 52.2 % in simulated gastric juice (pH 1.2) for 2 h, whereas that of encapsulated LGG decreased by 18.5 %. In the DSS-induced inflammatory model, LGG-loaded microgel significantly alleviated UC symptoms in mice and reduced inflammatory factor levels in the colon. Encapsulation of LGG improved its stability in acidic conditions, thus increasing its content at the colon lesions and reducing pathogenic bacteria. A soy protein isolate (SPI) - sea buckthorn flavonoid emulsion was developed to study its effects on roasted lamb quality and heterocyclic amine (HAAs) precursors. The emulsion was stable with uniformly dispersed, well-encapsulated droplets averaging 0.1 to 10 μm. CLSM confirmed its good physical stability, small particle size, and uniform dispersion. FTIR the existence of hydrogen bond, hydrophobic interaction and physical adhesion between SPI and sea-buckthorn flavonoids. The emulsion improved lamb pellet texture by reducing chewiness and hardness, increasing adhesion, and decreasing browning. The emulsion-treated roasted mutton showed a 47.95-53.56 % increase in DPPH scavenging activity and MDA content reduction from 60.78 to 17.80 nmol/mg, indicating strong antioxidant activity and lipid oxidation inhibition. For both precursors and HAAs, there was a significant intensity of inhibition, where creatine decreased by about 44.91-68.34 %, glucose by 84.47 %-97.74 %, and the seven HAAs, Norharman, Harman, IQ, MeIQ, MeIQx, AαC, and PhIP, were inhibited by 79.64 %, respectively, 88.76 %, 65.07 %, 87.27 %, 96.16 %, 89.30 % and 49.44 %, respectively. Objectives: To determine the proportion of individuals with detectable antigen in plasma or serum after SARS-CoV-2 infection and the association of antigen detection with postacute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC) symptoms., Methods: Plasma and serum samples were collected from adults participating in four independent studies at different time points, ranging from several days up to 14 months post-SARS-CoV-2 infection. The primary outcome measure was to quantify SARS-CoV-2 antigens, including the S1 subunit of spike, full-length spike, and nucleocapsid, in participant samples. The presence of 34 commonly reported PASC symptoms during the postacute period was determined from participant surveys or chart reviews of electronic health records., Results: Of the 1569 samples analysed from 706 individuals infected with SARS-CoV-2, 21% (95% CI, 18-24%) were positive for either S1, spike, or nucleocapsid. Spike was predominantly detected, and the highest proportion of samples was spike positive (20%; 95% CI, 18-22%) between 4 and 7 months postinfection. In total, 578 participants (82%) reported at least one of the 34 PASC symptoms included in our analysis ≥1 month postinfection. Cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal, and neurologic symptoms had the highest reported prevalence in over half of all participants, and among those participants, 43% (95% CI, 40-45%) on average were antigen-positive. Among the participants who reported no ongoing symptoms (128, 18%), antigen was detected in 28 participants (21%). The presence of antigen was associated with the presence of one or more PASC symptoms, adjusting for sex, age, time postinfection, and cohort (OR, 1.8; 95% CI, 1.4-2.2)., Discussion: The findings of this multicohort study indicate that SARS-CoV-2 antigens can be detected in the blood of a substantial proportion of individuals up to 14 months after infection. Mobile mRNAs serve as crucial long-distance signaling molecules, responding to environmental stimuli in plants. Although many mobile transcripts have been identified, only a limited subset has been characterized as functional long-distance signals within specific plant species, raising an intriguing question about whether the prevalence of species specificity in mobile transcripts implies a divergence in the mechanisms governing mRNA mobility across distinct plant species. Our study delved into the notable case of CHOLINE KINASE 1 (CK1), an extensively studied instance of mobile mRNAs regulated by a tRNA-like sequence (TLS) in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). We established an association between mRNA mobility and length, independent of TLS numbers. Notably, neither the mobile mRNAs nor the mechanisms underpinning their mobility proved to be conserved across different plant species. The exclusive mobility of pumpkin CK1 mRNA under chilling stress was pivotal in enhancing the chilling tolerance of cucumber/pumpkin heterografts. Distinct from the TLS-mediated mobility of AtCK1 mRNA, the mobility of CmoCK1 mRNA is orchestrated by both m5C and m6A modifications, adding dimensions to our understanding of mRNA transport mechanisms., (© The Author(s) 2024. Organic solar cells (OSCs) processed with non-halogenated solvents usually suffer from excessive self-aggregation of small molecule acceptors (SMAs), severe phase separation and higher energy loss (Eloss), leading to reduced open-circuit voltage (Voc) and power conversion efficiency (PCE). Here, we designed and synthesized two SMAs L8-PhF and L8-PhMe by introducing different substituents (fluorine for L8-PhF and methyl for L8-PhMe) on the phenyl end group of inner side chains of L8-Ph, and investigated the effect of the substituents on the intermolecular interaction of SMAs, Eloss and performance of OSCs processed with non-halogenated solvents. It is found that compared with L8-PhF, which possesses strong intermolecular interactions but downgraded molecular packing order, L8-PhMe exhibits more effective non-covalent interactions, which improves the tightness and order of molecular packing. When blending the SMAs with PM6, the OSCs based on L8-PhMe shows reduced non-radiative energy loss, and enhanced Voc than the devices based on the other two SMAs. Consequently, the L8-PhMe based device processed with o-xylene and using 2PACz as the hole transport layer shows an outstanding PCE of 19.27%. Structural design and optimization, simulated photoelectron spectroscopy, electronic properties and chemical bond analysis of CuASi x (A = Sc, Cu, x ≤ 13) clusters were systematically studied using the PBE scheme to integrate with global search program of ABCluster. Firstly, neutral MS (the most stable structures) of CuASi 5 of the basic 1 + 5 + 1 structures (1 metal + 5 silicons + 1 metal atoms) can be found as the basic units for assembling more lager clusters under the condition of neglecting distortions and minor changes. If the Cu atoms in Cu 2 Si x (x ≤ 13) systems was replaced by one Sc atom, the geometries of MS will be reconstructed. Compared with the wheel geometries of Cu 2 Si 12 and Cu 2 Si 13 , CuScSi 12 and CuScSi 13 clusters belong to near-wheel geometries with peripheral metal atoms. The neutral CuScSi 5 and Cu 2 Si 5 clusters possess relatively higher stability in all of cluster sizes. A combination of NPA analysis of CuASi 5 , sp of the Cu atom and spd of the Sc atom hybridizations were crucial to the chemical bonds of A-Si in the neutral CuASi 5 clusters. In view of the higher SED value of the Cu 2 Si 5 molecule, chemical bond analysis was carried out using MO, HLg and AdNDP analysis. 18 localized bonds and four delocalized bonds can play a positive role for the relative stabilities of neutral pentagonal bipyramid structures of Cu 2 Si 5 . Background: Integrated traditional Chinese medicine and biomedicine is an effective method to treat tuberculosis (TB). In our previous research, traditional Chinese medicine preparation NiuBeiXiaoHe (NBXH) achieved obvious anti-TB effects in animal experiments and clinical practice. However, the action mechanism of NBXH has not been elucidated., Method: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were collected to extract mRNA and differentially expressed (DE) genes were obtained using gene microarray technology. Finally, GEO databases and RT-qPCR were used to verify the results of expression profile., Result: After MTB infection, most upregulated DE genes in mice were immune-related genes, including cxcl9 , camp , cfb , c4b , serpina3g , and ngp . Downregulated DE genes included lrrc74b , sult1d1 , cxxc4 , and grip2 . After treatment with NBXH, especially high-dose NBXH, the abnormal gene expression was significantly corrected. Some DE genes have been confirmed in multiple GEO datasets or in pulmonary TB patients through RT-qPCR., Conclusion: MTB infection led to extensive changes in host gene expression and mainly caused the host's anti-TB immune responses. Background: Bullying among adolescents is a significant public health concern worldwide. While child maltreatment (CM) is a known risk factor, few studies explore whether abused adolescents become bullies or victims and how CM affects day-to-day bullying/victimization. Existing research often uses cross-sectional and longitudinal designs with long intervals, failing to capture the dynamic nature of adolescence and bullying behaviors., Objective: Based on personality solidification theory, the study used a weekly diary method to examine the relationship between adolescents' CM and weekly bullying/victimization, as well as the mediating mechanisms of the Big Five personality traits., Participants and Setting: 452 students (167 girls, M age  = 12.90, SD age  = 0.48) from a junior high school in southern China participated in a 7-week diary study., Methods: After participants finished all questionnaires, multilevel models were constructed to analyze weekly diary data., Results: The findings indicated that CM positively predicted adolescents' weekly bullying/victimization, both directly and indirectly, through personality traits. Edwardsiella tarda ( E. tarda ) can infect humans and a variety of animals, including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. However, a more highly sensitive, specific, and repeatable test for its detection is lacking. The objective of this study was to develop a highly sensitive, specific, and repeatable droplet digital polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR)-based method for the quantitative detection of E. tarda . The gyrB gene was selected as the target gene, and primers and probe were designed and synthesized. Using E. tarda genomic DNA as templates, the reaction method was optimized to establish a linear relationship with real-time PCR detection methods. The sensitivity, specificity, and repeatability of the method were analyzed, and clinical samples were tested. When the primer and probe concentrations were 900 and 300 nM, respectively, and the annealing temperature was 57°C, the efficiency of the ddPCR amplification reaction was highest and the boundary between positive and negative droplet distribution was clearest. The sensitivity was high, with detection limit being as low as 0.56 copies·μL -1 ; additionally, and a good linear relationship ( R 2  = 0.9962) between ddPCR and real-time PCR detection, within the range of 1-25,000 copies·μL -1 , was evident. The repeatability was good, with a detection coefficient of variation of 2.74%. There was no cross-reactivity with 15 other common pathogenic microorganisms in aquatic animals ( Streptococcus agalactiae , Streptococcus iniae , Streptococcus suis type 2, Nocardia seriolae , Vibrio parahaemolyticus , Aeromonas sobria , red sea bream iridovirus, decapod iridescent virus 1, enterocytozoon hepatopenaei, carp edema virus, Koi herpesvirus, goldfish hematopoietic necrosis virus, tilapia lake virus, viral nervous necrosis virus, or grass carp reovirus) in positive samples. Among the 48 clinical samples, including Bahaba taipingensis and its live food fish, pond water samples, and routine monitoring samples (Koi), 21 were positive for E. tarda , consistent with the bacterial isolation and identification results. Background: Many studies have reported that prenatal exposure to Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFASs) can disrupt immune function. However, little is known about the effects of PFASs on immune molecules. The study analyzed the association between prenatal exposure to mixed and single PFASs and plasma immune molecules in three-year-old children., Methods: Ten PFASs were measured in umbilical cord serum, while peripheral blood samples were collected at age three to measure immune molecules. Associations between exposure to individual and combined PFASs and immune molecules were analyzed using Generalized Linear Models and Weighted Quantile Sum (WQS) regression., Results: (1) Interleukin-4 (IL-4) increased by 23.85% (95% CI:2.99,48.94) with each doubling of Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA), and Interleukin-6 (IL-6) increased by 39.07% (95%CI:4.06,85.86) with Perfluorotridecanoic Acid (PFTrDA). Elevated PFOA and Perfluorononanoic Acid (PFNA) were correlated with increases of 34.06% (95% CI: 6.41, 70.28) and 24.41% (95% CI: 0.99, 53.27) in Eotaxin-3, respectively. Additionally, the doubling of Perfluorohexane Sulfonic Acid (PFHxS) was associated with a 9.51% decrease in Periostin (95% CI: -17.84, -0.33). (2) The WQS analysis revealed that mixed PFASs were associated with increased IL-6 (β = 0.37, 95%CI:0.04,0.69), mainly driven by PFTrDA, PFNA, and 8:2 Chlorinated Perfluoroethyl Sulfonamide (8:2 Cl-PFESA). The L-band vegetation optical depth data garners significant interest for its ability to effectively monitor vegetation, thanks to minimal saturation within this frequency range. However, the existing datasets have limited temporal coverage, constrained by the start of the respective satellite missions. Global L-band equivalent AI-Based Vegetation Optical Depth or GLAB-VOD is a global long-term consistent microwave vegetation optical depth dataset created using machine learning to expand the SMAP-IB VOD dataset temporal coverage from 2015-2020 to 2002-2020. The GLAB-VOD dataset has an 18-day temporal resolution and 25 km spatial resolution on the EASE2 grid and covers 2002-2020. An auxiliary consistent daily brightness temperature product, called GLAB-TB, is developed in parallel and ensures the consistency of the VOD product across time periods with different microwave satellites. As a result of its temporal consistency, this dataset can be used to study long-term global and regional trends in vegetation biomass and utilized in any other applications where long-term consistency is necessary. The imaging of subsurface soil velocity structures from ambient noise inversion is a difficult problem. Few recording points and a simplified 1-D layered profile lead to important non-uniqueness. From our point of view, improving the reliability of processing methods of the observed data to obtain noise horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio (NHV) curves and setting a complete model parameter space are important tasks to reduce the non-uniqueness of inversion. In this study, using a local site near the border of the Tonghai Basin, China, as a case study, we first demonstrate how to identify and mitigate the influence of industrial sources using surface observations to obtain more reliable NHV curves. Then, a new strategy to determine model parameter space is proposed, that is, stratifying soil layers based on the number of NHV peaks and determining the shear wave velocities, thicknesses, and their ranges based on the empirical relationship between sedimentary thickness and resonant frequency ( h - f r ). Subsequently, combining the model parameter space acquisition strategy with the NHV inversion, a novel NHV inversion approach is developed and applied to obtain the 2-D V S profile of the investigated Tonghai site. The inverted 2-D V S profile aligns favorably with the frequency-depth conversion results of the measured NHV curves (NHV-profiling) and the measured borehole profiles, affirming the reliability of the proposed NHV inversion method. Finally, by comparing the empirical transfer functions from the strong-motion recordings, we validated the applicability of the inverted models for characterizing site effects. Purpose: The goal of the study is to introduce a modified technique for the removal of subretinal fluid during scntleral buckling (SB) to treat rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD)., Methods: This case series study was comprised of 18 cases of RRD patients suffering from a novel automated aspiration of subretinal fluid method during SB. The cases took place from July 2023 to November 2023 at the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC. Preoperative and intraoperative situations were evaluated, and spectral-domain optical coherence (SDOCT) and scanning laser ophthalmoscopy were used to observe the absorption of SRF in the early postoperative period., Results: The SRF method's automated aspiration primarily eliminated the SRF of all 18 RRD cases during SB surgery, leading to retinal reattachment, as showed by SLO. The method did not cause extensive intraoperative hemorrhage and had no risk of retinal incarceration or other complications. The SDOCT showed that the height of SRF in the macular area decreased in 10 cases (66.67%), leaving just a thin layer; was completely cleared in two cases (13.33%); had just a macular single bleb in one case (6.67%); and had several blebs left in two cases (13.33%)., Conclusions: These findings suggest that the automated aspiration of the SRF method is effective, controllable, and beneficial for retinal reattachment, especially in the early postoperative period. Objective: Poor conditions in the intraoral environment often lead to low-quality photos and videos, hindering further clinical diagnosis. To restore these digital records, this study proposes a real-time interactive restoration system using segment anything model., Methods: Intraoral digital videos, obtained from the vident-lab dataset through an intraoral camera, serve as the input for interactive restoration system. The initial phase employs an interactive segmentation module leveraging segment anything model. Subsequently, a real-time intraframe restoration module and a video enhancement module were designed. A series of ablation studies were systematically conducted to illustrate the superior design of interactive restoration system. Our quantitative evaluation criteria contain restoration quality, segmentation accuracy, and processing speed. Furthermore, the clinical applicability of the processed videos was evaluated by experts., Results: Extensive experiments demonstrated its performance on segmentation with a mean intersection-over-union of 0.977. On video restoration, it leads to reliable performances with peak signal-to-noise ratio of 37.09 and structural similarity index measure of 0.961, respectively. Several coprinoid fungi have been identified as promotors of Cremastra appendiculata seed germination, while others appear ineffective. This study aimed to discern which genera within the Psathyrellaceae family exhibit this capability and to identify the most effective coprinoid fungi for the cultivation of C. appendiculata. We collected 21 coprinoid fungi from diverse sources and symbiotically cultured them with C. appendiculata seeds. 9 fungi were found to induce seed germination and support seed development, specifically within the genera Coprinellus, Tulosesus, and Candolleomyces. In contrast, fungi that failed to promote germination predominantly belonged to the genera Coprinopsis and Parasola. Notably, four fungi-Coprinellus xanthothrix, Coprinellus pseudodisseminatus, Psathyrella singeri, and Psathyrella candolleana-were documented for the first time as capable of enhancing C. appendiculata seed germination. Strain 218LXJ-10, identified as Coprinellus radians, demonstrated the most significant effect and has been implemented in large-scale production, underscoring its considerable practical value. We aimed to investigate galectin-1 overexpression induces normal fibroblasts (NFs) translates into cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs). Galectin-1 overexpression was conducted in Human embryonic lung fibroblasts (HFL1) cell. The motilities of H1299 and A549 cells were measured. Human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) proliferation and tube formation ability were assessed. Tumor volume and tumor weight was recorded. Cells motilities were increased, while apoptosis rates were decreased after CMs co-cultured. B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2) expression level was increased, while Bcl2-associatedX (Bax) and cleaved-caspase3 decreased. CMs treatment enhanced HUVEC proliferation and tube formation. Tumor volume and weight in CMs treated mice were increased, and the sensitivity of anlotinib in co-cultured cells was decreased. Our results revealed that galectin-1 overexpression induced NFs translated into CAFs.

Previous studies have examined the impact of maternal childhood maltreatment (CM) on children's school adaptation (SA), neglecting the role of fathers, and the joint influence of both parents. Based on family systems theory, this study explored the intergenerational impact of parental CM on children's SA and the mediating role of benign envy (BE) and malicious envy (ME). A total of 334 elementary school students' BE, ME, and SA statuses and their parents' CM, BE, and ME statuses were collected to construct the intergenerational transmission models of BE and ME for fathers, mothers, and parents, respectively. The results revealed that maltreated fathers or mothers individually exerted negative impacts on their children's SA, but when parents acted jointly, only fathers' CM intergenerational influence was significant. Mediation effects demonstrated that, individually, maltreated fathers indirectly affected children's SA through children's BE; maltreated mothers impacted children's SA through the "mothers' BE→children's BE" mediating chain; however, when taking combined parental action, only mothers' intergenerational transmission chain was significantly present. Identifying different intergenerational influence mechanisms of maltreated parents on offspring's school adaptation broadens our understanding of the diverse parenting roles of parents. That is, fathers foster their offspring's environmental adaptability through encouraging external exploration, while mothers enhance socialization by nurturing internal emotional development. Background: Powdery mildew (caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici (Bgt)) and leaf rust (caused by Puccinia triticina (Pt)) are prevalent diseases in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production. Thinopyrum ponticum (2n = 10x = 70, E e E e E b E b E x E x StStStSt) contains genes that confer high levels of resistance to these diseases., Results: An elite wheat-Th. ponticum disomic substitution line, DS5Ag(5D), was developed in the Bainong Aikang 58 (AK58) background. The line was assessed using genomic in situ hybridization (GISH), oligo-nucleotide probe multiplex (ONPM) fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and molecular markers. Twenty eight chromosome-specific molecular markers were identified for the alien chromosome, and 22 of them were co-dominant. Additionally, SNP markers from the wheat 660 K SNP chip were utilized to confirm chromosome identification and they provide molecular tools for tagging the chromosome in concern. The substitution line demonstrated high levels of resistance to powdery mildew throughout its growth period and to leaf rust at the adult stage. Based on the resistance evaluation of five F 5 populations between the substitution lines and wheat genotypes with different levels of sensitivity to the two diseases. Results showed that the resistance genes located on 5Ag confered stable resistance against both diseases across different backgrounds. Resistance spectrum analysis combined with diagnostic marker detection of known resistance genes of Th. ponticum revealed that 5Ag contained two novel genes, Pm5Ag and Lr5Ag, which conferred resistance to powdery mildew and leaf rust, respectively., Conclusions: In this study, a novel wheat-Th. ponticum disomic substitution line DS5Ag(5D) was successfully developed. The Th. ponticum chromosome 5Ag contain new resistance genes for powdery mildew and leaf rust. Dietary fiber can be fermented and utilized by gut microbiota to reshape the gut microbiota, thereby alleviating constipation. This experiment mainly studied the physicochemical functions of hawthorn soluble dietary fiber (HSDF)and its effect and mechanism in alleviating constipation in mice. Forty-five mice were divided into blank control group C, model group M, positive control HS group, low-dose LHSDF group (1 g/kg/bw), and high-dose HHSDF group (2 g/kg/bw). The mice were modeled at a dose of 10 mg/kg/bw of loperamide hydrochloride for 7 days, while the remaining groups were orally administered an equal amount of distilled water and test samples. After continuous gavage for 45 days we performed a bowel movement test, and then continued gavage for 7 days and performed a small intestine propulsion test and indicator testing. The results showed that HSDF is mainly composed of galacturonic acid, belonging to the type I crystal structure, with a loose surface resembling a snowflake, a small molecular weight, and strong water-holding and antioxidant abilities. Animal experiments showed that compared with group M, HSDF significantly upregulated AQP3 and AQP8 by 52.67% and 164.54%, respectively, and downregulated AQP9 protein expression by 45.88%, thereby promoting intestinal peristalsis. It can also alleviate constipation by increasing the levels of excitatory hormones such as MTL, GAS, and SP in the gastrointestinal tract, and reducing the levels of inhibitory hormones such as SS, NO, and MDA. In addition, HSDF can reduce the levels of inflammatory factors such as IL-6 and PL-1 β, increase the content of various short-chain fatty acids, alleviate intestinal inflammation, maintain intestinal integrity, and promote defecation. It can also promote the growth of probiotics such as Bacteroides, inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, and alter the diversity of gut microbiota.

Background: This study aimed to compare the survival outcome and side effects in patients with primary high-grade glioma (HGG) who received carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) alone or as a boost strategy after photon radiation (photon + CIRT boost )., Patients and Methods: Thirty-four (34) patients with histologically confirmed HGG and received CIRT alone or Photon + CIRT boost, with concurrent temozolomide between 2020.03-2023.08 in Wuwei Cancer Hospital & Institute, China were retrospectively reviewed. Overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and acute and late toxicities were analyzed and compared., Results: Eight WHO grade 3 and 26 grade 4 patients were included in the analysis. The median PFS in the CIRT alone and Photon + CIRT boost groups were 15 and 19 months respectively for all HGG cases, and 15 and 17.5 months respectively for grade 4 cases. The median OS in the CIRT alone and Photon + CIRT boost groups were 28 and 31 months respectively for all HGG cases, and 21 and 19 months respectively for grade 4 cases. No significant difference in these survival outcomes was observed between the CIRT alone and Photon + CIRT boost groups. Only grade 1 acute toxicities were observed in CIRT alone and Photon + CIRT boost groups. CIRT alone group had a significantly lower ratio of acute toxicities compared to Photon + CIRT boost (3/18 vs. 9/16, p = 0.03). No significant difference in late toxicities was observed., Conclusion: Both CIRT alone and Photon + CIRT boost with concurrent temozolomide are safe, without significant differences in PFS and OS in HGG patients. The global and local minimum configurations of single Hf atom doped Sn clusters are conducted via density function theory (DFT) combined with artificial bee colony algorithm (ABCluster). Furthermore, DFT method is also used to systematically investigate on their structural growth evolution, spectral and electronic information, thermochemical properties following the size of tin clusters doped Hf atom. Structurally, the ground-state geometries of neutral, anion and di-anion are discovered that, from n = 4, the number of Sn atoms in cluster, HfSn n 0/- /2- adsorb additional Sn atom on the prior architecture one by one until forming n = 17 for HfSn n -1 0/- , as well as forming n = 16 for HfSn n -1 2- . And for the HfSn 11 0/- and HfSn 10 2- as beginning the species veritably develop sealed architectures. The strongest vibrational modes of sealed nanoclusters are stretching modes of Hf atom with infrared actives and breathing modes of the Sn cage framework with Raman actives, respectively. Objective: To elucidate the epidemiological features of HIV-2 in Hunan Province, China, utilizing sequence analysis., Methods: Thirteen individuals diagnosed with HIV-2 infection in Hunan Province, China, from 2017 to 2023 were included in this study. Amplification of HIV-2 env and pol regions was conducted, followed by Sanger sequencing. Phylogenetic and molecular transmission network analyses were performed to delineate molecular features and transmission dynamics., Results: All 14 individuals contracted HIV-2 through heterosexual intercourse, comprising 7 males and 7 females, with a median age of 58 years. Among them, three couples (HN001 and HN013, HN010 and HN011, HN008 and HN009) were identified, along with commercial sexual activity engagement reported for subject HN004. Notably, subjects HN001, HN003, HN008, and HN010 engaged in commercial sexual activities at the same location as subject HN004. Phylogenetic analysis of the pol gene revealed close proximity of sequences from all subjects to reference sequences from Gambia (Sub-type A). During extensive periods without rain, known as dry-downs, decreasing soil moisture (SM) induces plant water stress at the point when it limits evapotranspiration, defining a critical SM threshold (θ crit ). Better quantification of θ crit is needed for improving future projections of climate and water resources, food production, and ecosystem vulnerability. Here, we combine systematic satellite observations of the diurnal amplitude of land surface temperature (dLST) and SM during dry-downs, corroborated by in-situ data from flux towers, to generate the observation-based global map of θ crit . We find an average global θ crit of 0.19 m 3 /m 3 , varying from 0.12 m 3 /m 3 in arid ecosystems to 0.26 m 3 /m 3 in humid ecosystems. θ crit simulated by Earth System Models is overestimated in dry areas and underestimated in wet areas. The global observed pattern of θ crit reflects plant adaptation to soil available water and atmospheric demand. Using explainable machine learning, we show that aridity index, leaf area and soil texture are the most influential drivers. Moreover, we show that the annual fraction of days with water stress, when SM stays below θ crit , has increased in the past four decades. The spatial patterns of pollutants produced by industrial parks are affected by many factors, but the interactions among polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), metals, and soil microorganisms in the valley landforms of the Tibetan Plateau are poorly understood. Thus, this study systematically investigated the distribution and pollution of metals and PAHs in soil around an industrial park in the typical valley landform of the Tibetan Plateau and analyzed and clarified the interaction among metals, PAHs, and microorganisms. The results were as follows: metal and PAH concentrations were affected by wind direction, especially WN-ES and S-N winds; Cd (2.86-54.64 mg·kg -1 ) had the highest soil concentrations of the metals screened, followed by variable concentrations of Cu, Pb, and Zn; the pollution levels of metals and PAHs in the S-N wind direction were lower than those in the WN-ES wind direction; the Cd content of Avena sativa in the agricultural soil around the factory exceeded its enrichment ability and food safety standards; the closer to the center of the park, the higher the ecological risk of PAHs; and the TEQ and MEQ values of the PAHs were consistent with their concentration distributions. The results of the soil microbial diversity and co-occurrence network in the dominant wind direction showed that metal and PAH pollution weakened the robustness of soil microbial communities. Additionally, the diversity and robustness of soil microbial communities at the S wind site were higher than those at the ES wind site, which might be attributed to the lower metal content of the former than the latter, which plays a negative role in the biodegradation of PAHs. Sodium is one of the essential additives in meat processing, but excessive sodium intake may increase risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. However, reducing salt content while preserving its preservative effect, organoleptic properties, and technological characteristics poses challenges. In this review, the mechanism of salt reduction of umami substances was introduced from the perspective of gustation-taste interaction, and the effects of the addition of traditional umami substances (amino acids, nucleotides, organic acids(OAs)) and natural umami ingredients (mushrooms, seaweeds, tomatoes, soybeans, tea, grains) on the sensory properties of the meat with reduced-salt contents were summarized. In addition, the impacts of taste enhancers on eating quality (color, sensory, textural characteristics, and water-holding capacity (WHC)), and processing quality (lipid oxidation, pH) of meat products (MP) and their related mechanisms were also discussed. Among them, natural umami ingredients exhibit distinct advantages over traditional umami substances in terms of enhancing quality and nutritional value. On the basis of salt reduction, natural umami ingredients improve the flavor, texture, WHC and antioxidant capacity. Objective: This study aims to understand the characteristics and current situation of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) data of Ganxian District, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, China from 2011 to 2021, and to provide data support and a scientific basis for the prevention and control of PTB in the county., Methods: The data were collected from the National Notifiable Disease Reporting System (NNDRS), which included information reported such as the gender, ethnicity, age, occupation, and diagnostic classification of reported PTB cases. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the characteristics of PTB patients. The SPSS 21.0 data analysis tool was used to analyze patient data, investigating the epidemiological characteristics of PTB in the region., Results: There were 4962 PTB cases reported from 2011 to 2021 in Ganxian District, with a decreasing trend. In terms of months, March and September had the highest cumulative number of reported cases, with 511 cases (10.3%) and 515 cases (10.4%), respectively. In terms of reported cases by area, Meilin Town and Jiangkou Town had the highest number, with 603 and 519 cases, respectively. In terms of gender, there were more male patients (3743 cases) than female patients (1,219 cases) , which had statistically significant differences (χ2 = 27.0, P < .001). The majority of cases were secondary PTB, with farmers being the most affected (a total of 4287 cases) compared to other occupations. In addition, most patients were aged between 40 and 70 years (a total of 2790 cases). Regarding treatment outcomes, out of 4,962 PTB patients, 2088 were cured, with a cure rate of 42.1%., Conclusion: Based on the characteristics of PTB in the area, future prevention and control work should focus on males, farmers, young students, and the elderly, while also focusing on the prevention and control of secondary PTB.

0D Bi-based 329-type halide perovskite is demonstrated as a promising semiconductor for X-ray detection due to its strong X-ray absorption, superior stability, availability of large single crystals (SCs) and solution processibility at low temperature. However, its low mobility-lifetime product (µτ) limits its further improvement in detection sensitivity. Based on the first-principles calculations, this work designs a new 2D Bi-based 329-type halide perovskite using a mixed-halide-induced structural dimension regulation strategy. By using a continuous supply of a precursor solution, this work successfully grows inch-sized high-quality SCs. These SCs exhibit large µτ product, high resistivity, and low ion migration. The detectors fabricated using the SCs show X-ray detection sensitivity as high as 24,509 µC Gy air -1 cm -2 , short response time of 315 µs, low detection limit of 4.3 nGy s -1 , and superior stability. These properties are the best among all lead-free perovskite detectors and are comparable to those of the best lead-based perovskite detectors. The linear array detector assembled on the SCs for the first time also shows a high spatial resolution of 10.6 lp mm -1 during X-ray imaging. The high performance combined with superior stability of these new 329-type lead-free halide perovskite SCs is expected to promote a new generation of X-ray detection technologies., (© 2024 Wiley‐VCH GmbH.)

Introduction: Differences in transmissibility of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants of concern (VOCs) in different districts are hard to assess. To address this, our study focused on calculating the Real-time reproduction number ( R t ) for these variants in different regions., Methods: According to the criteria defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), the global landscape was categorized into six distinct regions. In each region, the predominant SARS-CoV-2 variant was first identified based on the proportion of variant sequencing analysis results. Then, using serial interval (SI) parameters, we calculated R t for the relevant Variant of Concern (VOC) in each region. This approach enabled us to compare the R t values of the same variant across different regions and analyze the transmissibility of each region's variant in relation to the overall situation in that region., Results: The progression of VOC for SARS-CoV-2 shows regional variations. However, a common sequence of evolution is observed: Wild-type → Alpha → Beta → Delta → Omicron. Background: Contactin-1 (CNTN1) antibody-positive nodopathy is rare and exhibits distinct clinical symptoms such as tremors and ataxia. However, the mechanisms of these symptoms and the characteristics of the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) remain unknown., Case Presentation: Here, we report a case of recurrent CNTN1 antibody-positive nodopathy. Initially, a 45-year-old woman experiencing numbness in the upper limbs and weakness in the lower limbs was diagnosed with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). Eleven years later, her symptoms worsened, and she began to experience tremors and ataxia. Tests for serum CNTN1, GT1a, and GQ1b antibodies returned positive. Subsequently, she was diagnosed with CNTN1 antibody-positive nodopathy and underwent plasmapheresis therapy, although the treatment's efficacy was limited. To gain a deeper understanding of the disease, we conducted a comprehensive literature review, identifying 52 cases of CNTN1 antibody-positive nodopathy to date, with a tremor prevalence of 26.9%. Additionally, we found that the average CSF protein level in CNTN1 antibody-positive nodopathy was 2.57 g/L, with 87% of patients exhibiting a CSF protein level above 1.5 g/L., Conclusion: We present a rare case of recurrent CNTN1 antibody-positive nodopathy. In this work, by simultaneously introducing the polyphenolic extracts from Capsicum annuum leaves and ferric ion (Fe 3+ ) into the Polyvinyl alcohol/kappa-carrageenan (PVA/κ-carrageenan)-based film-forming matrix, an active package film was developed, with the purpose to improve the food shelf life. The experimental results indicated that the existence of Fe 3+ can not only improve the mechanical properties owing to the multiple dynamic coordinated interactions, but also endow the composite films with excellent fire-retardancy. Moreover, the composite films could display excellent UV resistant performance, water vapor/oxygen gas barrier properties and antioxidant activities with the corporation of polyphenols. In particular, the highest DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging capacities for composite film (PC-PLP7 sample) were evaluated to be 82.5 % and 91.1 %, respectively. Higher polyphenol concentration is favorable to the bio-functions of the materials. Benefitting from these features, this novel kind of films with a dense and steady micro-structure could be further applicated in fruit preservations, where the ripening bananas were ensured with the high storage quality. Background: Childhood maltreatment is a common problem that can have lasting effects on the physical and mental health of adolescents who have experienced it, including sleep quality., Objective: This study will investigate the relationship between childhood maltreatment and sleep quality in adolescents using a weekly diary method., Participants and Setting: In this study, students from a middle school in central China were recruited as research subjects, and a total of 11 classes with 470 students were investigated., Methods: In order to fill in the gaps of previous studies, a weekly diary method was used to collect data. Subjects were required to complete three scales once a week for seven consecutive weeks, including the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale (PSQI)., Results: Findings suggest that childhood maltreatment has a negative impact on adolescent's sleep quality at the weekly level (γ 01 c  = -0.07, t = -5.71, p < .001) . The negative effect of childhood maltreatment on sleep quality was significantly reduced with the addition of perceived social support (γ 01 c' = -0.03, t = -2.83, p < .01). Notably, support from friends (γ 01 a *γ 02 b  = -0.01) and significant others (γ 01 a *γ 02 b  = -0.02) also played an important mediating role in child maltreatment and adolescent sleep quality, but family support remained the most important support in adolescents (γ 01 a *γ 02 b  = -0.04)., Conclusions: The present study has confirmed the negative correlation between childhood maltreatment and sleep quality in adolescents. Metal(loid) discharge has led to severe coastal contamination; however, there remains a significant knowledge gap regarding its impact on sediment profiles and depth-resolved bacterial communities. In this study, geochemical measurements (pH, nutrient elements, total and bioavailable metal(loid) content) consistently revealed decreasing nitrogen, phosphorus, and metal(loid) levels with sediment depth, accompanied by reduced alpha diversity. Principal coordinate analysis indicated distinct community compositions with varying sediment depths, suggesting a geochemical influence on diversity. Ecological niche width expanded with depth, favoring specialists over generalists, but both groups decreased in abundance. Taxonomic shifts emerged, particularly in phyla and families, correlated with sediment depth. Microbe-microbe interactions displayed intricate dynamics, with keystone taxa varying by sediment layer. Zinc and arsenic emerged as key factors impacting community diversity and composition using random forest, network analysis, and Mantel tests. Functional predictions revealed shifts in potential phenotypes related to mobile elements, biofilm formation, pathogenicity, N/P/S cycles, and metal(loid) resistance along sediment profiles. Neutral and null models demonstrated a transition from deterministic to stochastic processes with sediment layers. Food waste and byproducts (FWBP) are a global issue impacting economies, resources, and health. Recycling and utilizing these wastes, due to processing and economic constraints, face various challenges. However, valuable components in food waste inspire efficient solutions like active intelligent packaging. Though research on this is booming, its material selectivity, effectiveness, and commercial viability require further analysis. This paper categorizes FWBP and explores their potential for producing packaging from both animal and plant perspectives. In addition, the preparation/fabrication methods of these films/coatings have also been summarized comprehensively, focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of these methods and their commercial adaptability. Finally, the functions of these films/coatings and their ultimate performance in protecting food (meat, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables) are also reviewed systematically. FWBP provide a variety of methods for the application of edible films, including being made into coatings, films, and fibers for food preservation, or extracting active substances directly or indirectly from them (in the form of encapsulation) and adding them to packaging to endow them with functions such as barrier, antibacterial, antioxidant, and pH response. In addition, the casting method is the most commonly used method for producing edible films, but more film production methods (extrusion, electrospinning, 3D printing) need to be tried to make up for the shortcomings of the current methods. Selective functionalization of fullerenes is an important but challenging topic in fullerene chemistry and synthetic chemistry. Here we present the first example of catalytic system-controlled regioselective 1,2- and 1,4-addition reactions for the flexible and efficient synthesis of novel 1,2- and 1,4-carbocycle-fused fullerenes via a palladium-catalyzed decarboxylative carboannulation process.

The link between civilization and technology has long been a hotspot of research around the world. Mobile phone addiction has become a common social phenomenon with advances in society and technology, wreaking havoc on people's emotional health, physical fitness, and personal connections. Considering the positive effects of mindfulness, this study used the diary method to explore the relationship between mindfulness and mobile phone addiction based on the mindfulness reperceiving model. We conducted a 14-day diary study among 198 Chinese youth participants. The results showed that there was a circular argument relationship between mindfulness and mobile phone addiction: mindfulness of the previous day could significantly negatively predict mobile phone addiction of the following day, and vice versa. These results, based on the mindfulness reperceiving model, effectively extend theories and profoundly reveal the circular argument relationship between mindfulness and mobile phone addiction. Besides, it also provides new thought for the mechanism of the interrelationship between mindfulness and mobile phone addiction, as an important theoretical support for the intervention of mobile phone addiction from the perspective of mindfulness.

Barrier membranes play a pivotal role in the success of guided periodontal tissue regeneration. The biodegradable barriers predominantly used in clinical practice often lack sufficient barrier strength, antibacterial properties, and bioactivity, frequently leading to suboptimal regeneration outcomes. Although with advantages in mechanical strength, biodegradability and plasticity, bioinert aliphatic polyesters as barrier materials are usually polymerized via toxic catalysts, hard to be functionalized and lack of antibacterial properties. To address these challenges, we propose a new concept that controlled release of bioactive substance on the whole degradation course can give a bioinert aliphatic polyester bioactivity. Thus, a Zn-based catalytic system for polycondensation of dicarboxylic acids and diols is created to prepare zinc covalent hybrid polyester (PBS/ZnO). The atomically-dispersed Zn 2+ ions entering main chain of polyester molecules endow PBS/ZnO barrier with antibacterial properties, barrier strength, excellent biocompatibility and histocompatibility. Further studies reveal that relying on long-term controlled release of Zn 2+ ions, the PBS/ZnO membrane greatly expedites osteogenetic effect in guided tissue regeneration (GTR) by enhancing the mitochondrial function of macrophages to induce M2 polarization. In this study, the organosilane nanoparticles as additive and crosslinker were prepared and incorporated into sodium alginate to fabricate a series of alginate-based multi-crosslinked biomembranes at different thermal treatment temperature without the usage of another crosslinking agent. The effects of treatment temperature on the stability of biomembranes including dimensional, oxidative, hydrolytic and mechanical stability were investigated in detail. As a whole, the stability of biomembranes exhibited increasing tendency with the increment of treatment temperature due to the formation of more compact internal network structure. The electrochemical performance of biomembranes in respect to their potential as proton exchange membranes for direct methanol fuel cell application were also investigated based on the treatment temperature. The results revealed that the biomembranes possessed excellent methanol resistance and the methanol diffusion coefficient decreased with the increment of treatment temperature. The biomembrane with 120 °C heat-treatment showed the optimal selectivity (14.30 × 10 5 Ss cm -3 ), which was about 1.77 and 68.10 times of that and of M-80 (8.09 × 10 5 Ss cm -3 ) and Nafion @ 117 (0.21 × 10 5 Ss cm -3 ), respectively. Background: Periodontitis, one of the most common oral diseases, is a chronic inflammatory condition occur in response to bacterial plaque biofilms. Plaque control and oral hygiene instructions are the most widely used and effective nonsurgical treatment for periodontitis, which is based on a partnership between patient and clinician and requires a life-long commitment. The objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of internet-based nursing interventions for the treatment of patients with periodontitis. The findings from this study may help to enhance the therapeutic outcomes for patients with periodontitis., Methods: A total of 80 patients with periodontitis treated in Zhejiang Province Stomatology hospital from December 2021 to January 2023 were randomly selected and divided into control group and intervention group with 40 cases each. The control group was given routine oral health guidance and the intervention group received internet based nursing intervention. The periodontal pocket depth, percentage of periodontal pocket depth (PD) ≥ 4 mm, bleeding on probing (BOP)%, and self-efficacy scale for oral health care (SESS) were assessed and compared at four time points: initial visit, 6-8-weeks follow-up, 3-months follow-up, and 6-months follow-up., Results: There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of age, gender, initial visit PD, initial visit PD ≥ 4 mm (%), initial visit BOP (%), and initial visit SESS (P > 0.05). The intervention group showed a significantly decreased percentage of PD ≥ 4 mm at 6-8 weeks and 6-months follow-up compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The PD, BOP%, and SESS scores of the intervention group were significantly better than those of the control group at 6-months follow-up (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in patient satisfaction between the two groups., Conclusions: This study confirmed that the internet-based nursing intervention in conjunction with periodontal treatment was able to improve the periodontal pocket depth, gingival bleeding and the level of self-efficacy of patients, suggesting that it is necessary to carry out the extended oral hygiene instructions via internet-based platforms for the patients in clinical practice., (© 2024. Muscle foods, valued for their significant nutrient content such as high-quality protein, vitamins, and minerals, are vulnerable to adulteration and fraud, stemming from dishonest vendor practices and insufficient market oversight. Traditional analytical methods, often limited to laboratory-scale., may not effectively detect adulteration and fraud in complex applications. Raman spectroscopy (RS), encompassing techniques like Surface-enhanced RS (SERS), Dispersive RS (DRS), Fourier transform RS (FTRS), Resonance Raman spectroscopy (RRS), and Spatially offset RS (SORS) combined with chemometrics, presents a potent approach for both qualitative and quantitative analysis of muscle food adulteration. This technology is characterized by its efficiency, rapidity, and noninvasive nature. This paper systematically summarizes and comparatively analyzes RS technology principles, emphasizing its practicality and efficacy in detecting muscle food adulteration and fraud when combined with chemometrics. The paper also discusses the existing challenges and future prospects in this field, providing essential insights for reviews and scientific research in related fields.

Side chain engineering plays a vital role in exploring high-performance small molecule acceptors (SMAs) for organic solar cells (OSCs). In this work, we designed and synthesized a series of A-DA'D-A type SMAs by introducing different N-substituted alkyl and ester alkyl side chains on benzotriazole (BZ) central unit and aimed to investigate the effect of different ester substitution positions on photovoltaic performances. All the new SMAs with ester groups exhibit lower the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels and more blue-shifted absorption, but relatively higher absorption coefficients than alkyl chain counterpart. After blending with the donor PM6, the ester side chain-based devices demonstrate enhanced charge mobility, reduced amorphous intermixing domain size and long-lived charge transfer state compared to the alkyl chain counterpart, which are beneficial to achieve higher short-circuit current density (J sc ) and fill factor (FF), simultaneously. Thereinto, the PM6 : BZ-E31 based device achieves a higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 18.33 %, which is the highest PCE among the OSCs based on the SMAs with BZ-core. Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of death and disability worldwide. Recently, increasing evidence has demonstrated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play critical roles in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, diabetic cardiomyopathy, aortic dissection, and more. LncRNA H19 was the first to be described as a non-protein-coding mRNA-like molecule. A large number of studies have found that lncRNA H19 is related to the pathophysiological processes of cardiovascular diseases, and it is emerging as a potential key regulator of various heart diseases. Adolescent depression, as a common problem, has always been the focus of attention and research. However, no consistent conclusion has been drawn on its relationship with parental education level. Therefore, this study used meta-analysis and dose-response analysis techniques to explore the overall relationship between the two, and further explore the moderating factors affecting the relationship between the two through subgroup analysis and meta-regression analysis. After a literature search and screening, a total of 22 literatures were included, including 634,821 adolescents aged 9-25, distributed in 10 countries. The results showed that: (1) Overall parental education level was negatively correlated with adolescent depressive symptoms (RR = 0.88. p < 0.001), and there was a dose-response relationship between the two. (2) Geographical location (p = 0.002 < 0.05) and national economic development (p = 0.03 < 0.05) significantly moderated and affected the association between parental education level and adolescent depression, thus presenting a global inconsistency.
