The pine caterpillar (Dendrolimus spectabilis Bulter, Lepidoptera: Lasiocampidae), as an ectotherm, temperature plays a crucial role in its development. With climate change, earlier development of insect pests is expected to pose a more frequent threat to forest communities. Yet the quantitative research about the extent to which global warming affects pine caterpillar populations is rarely understood, particularly across various elevations and latitudes. Spring phenology of pine caterpillars showed an advancing trend with 0.8 d/10a, 2.2 d/10a, 2.2 d/10a, and 3.3 d/10a under the SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0 and SSP5-8.5 scenario, respectively. There was a maximum advance of 20 d in spring phenology of pine caterpillars during the 2090s, from mid-March to early March, and even late February. This study highlighted the significant advance in spring phenology at elevations >1000 m and lower latitudes. Consequently, the differences in elevational and latitudinal gradients were relatively small as the increasing temperatures at the end of the 21st century. And the average temperature in February-March was effective in explaining theses variability. Background: Pulsed field ablation, as a non-thermal ablation modality, has received increasing attention. The aim of this study is to explore whether a reversible pulsed electric field (RPEF) can temporarily inhibit electrical conduction and provide a novel method for precise ablation of arrhythmia., Methods: RPEF energy was delivered from an ablation catheter to the atrium of six dogs, followed by a series of electrogram and histology assessments., Results: RPEF ablation of ordinary myocardium resulted in an average reduction of 68.3% (range, 53.7%-83.8%) in electrogram amplitude, while 5 min later, the amplitude in eight electrograms returned to 77.9% (range, 72.4%-87.3%) of baseline. Similarly, the amplitude of the sinoatrial node electrograms reduced by an average of 73.0% (range, 60.2%-84.4%) after RPEF ablation, but recovered to 84.9% (range, 80.3%-88.5%) of baseline by 5 min. No necrotic change was detected in histopathology. Transient third-degree atrioventricular block occurred following the ablation of the maximum His potential sites with RPEF, the duration of which was voltage dependent. BACKGROUND Pulsed field ablation (PFA), as a non-thermal ablation modality, has received increasing attention. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of PFA upon His bundle via its implementation with different voltages on the maximum His bundle potential in canines, providing scientific basis for clinical application. MATERIAL AND METHODS Pulsed electrical field energy was delivered from a ablation catheter to the maximum His potential of 7 dogs, followed by a series of electrogram and histology assessments. RESULTS The baseline AH and HV intervals were 55.3±3.7 ms (range, 53.0-59.0 ms), and 34.9±1.3 ms (range, 34.0-36.0 ms), respectively, which were elevated to 65.0±5.4 ms (range, 59.0-70.0 ms) and 35.7±2.7 ms (range, 34.0-37.0 ms) after PFA. Before ablation and immediately after the recovery of third-degree AVB, the AH interval was prolonged (P<0.05) while the HV interval remained unchanged (P>0.05). After ablation, all 7 canines experienced transient third-degree AVB, with a voltage-dependent duration. Masson staining results revealed no apparent damage in His bundle cells. CONCLUSIONS Within a certain voltage range of pulse electric field, ablation of the maximum His potential in canines can result in transient third-degree AVB, providing a new route for guiding safe ablation of para-Hisian arrhythmia.

Background: Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have significantly improved atrial fibrillation (AF) detection using electrocardiography (ECG) data obtained during sinus rhythm (SR). However, the utility of printed ECG (pECG) records for AF detection, particularly in developing countries, remains unexplored. This study aims to assess the efficacy of an AI-based screening tool for paroxysmal AF (PAF) using pECGs during SR., Methods: We analyzed 5688 printed 12-lead SR-ECG records from 2192 patients admitted to Beijing Chaoyang Hospital between May 2011 to August 2022. All patients underwent catheter ablation for PAF (AF group) or other electrophysiological procedures (non-AF group). We developed a deep learning model to detect PAF from these printed SR-ECGs. The 2192 patients were randomly assigned to training (1972, 57.3% with PAF), validation (108, 57.4% with PAF), and test datasets (112, 57.1% with PAF). We developed an applet to digitize the printed ECG data and display the results within a few seconds. Our evaluation focused on sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, F1 score, the area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve (AUROC), and precision-recall curves (PRAUC)., Results: The PAF detection algorithm demonstrated strong performance: sensitivity 87.5%, specificity 66.7%, accuracy 78.6%, F1 score 0.824, AUROC 0.871 and PRAUC 0.914. Aims: Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is an emerging non-thermal ablative modality demonstrating considerable promise for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). However, these PFA trials have almost universally included only Caucasian populations, with little data on its effect on other races/ethnicities. The PLEASE-AF trial sought to study the 12-month efficacy and the safety of a multi-electrode hexaspline PFA catheter in treating a predominantly Asian/Chinese population of patients with drug-refractory paroxysmal AF., Methods and Results: Patients underwent pulmonary vein (PV) isolation (PVI) by delivering different pulse intensities at the PV ostium (1800 V) and atrium (2000 V). Acute success was defined as no PV potentials and entrance/exit conduction block of all PVs after a 20-min waiting period. Follow-up at 3, 6, and 12 months included 12-lead electrocardiogram and 24-h Holter examinations. The primary efficacy endpoint was 12-month freedom from any atrial arrhythmias lasting at least 30 s. The cohort included 143 patients from 12 hospitals treated by 28 operators: age 60.2 ± 10.0 years, 65.7% male, Asian/Chinese 100%, and left atrial diameter 36.6 ± 4.9 mm. All PVs (565/565, 100%) were successfully isolated. The total procedure, catheter dwell, total PFA application, and total fluoroscopy times were 123.5 ± 38.8 min, 63.0 ± 30.7 min, 169.7 ± 34.6 s, and 27.3 ± 10.1 min, respectively. The primary endpoint was observed in 124 of 143 patients (86.7%). Hazard assessment is fundamental in the field of disaster risk management. With the increase in global warming, compound water and temperature events have become more frequent. Current research lacks risk assessments of low temperatures and their compound events, necessitating relevant hazard assessment work to improve the accuracy and diversity of maize disaster prevention and mitigation strategies. This study comparatively analyzed the dynamic evolution characteristics and hazards of compound drought/waterlogging and low temperature events (CDLEs and CWLEs) for maize in the Songliao Plain during different growth periods from 1981 to 2020. First, composite drought/waterlogging and low temperature magnitude indices (CDLMI and CWLMI) were constructed to quantify the intensity of CDLEs and CWLEs by fitting non-exceedance probabilities. Next, static and dynamic hazard assessment models were developed by fitting probability density and cumulative probability density curves to CDLMI and CWLMI. The results showed that the correlations between SPRI and LTI across different decades were mainly negative during the three growth periods. The hazard ratings for both CDLEs and CWLEs were relatively high in the northern part of the study area, consistent with the higher occurrence, duration, and severity of both CDLEs and CWLEs at higher latitudes. Relative to 2001-2010, the center of gravity of hazard shifted southward for CDLEs and northward for CWLEs in 2011-2020. The mean duration, frequency, and hazard were generally higher for CWLEs, but CDLEs were associated with more severe maize yield reductions. Objectives: The clinical efficacy and safety of a novel left atrial appendage (LAA) occluder of the SeaLA closure system in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) were reported., Background: Patients with NVAF are at a higher risk of stroke compared to healthy individuals. Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) has emerged as a prominent strategy for reducing the risk of thrombosis in individuals with NVAF., Methods: A prospective, multicenter study was conducted in NVAF patients with a high risk of stroke., Results: The LAAC was successfully performed in 163 patients. The mean age was 66.93 ± 7.92 years, with a mean preoperative CHA2DS2-VASc score of 4.17 ± 1.48. One patient with residual flow >3 mm was observed at the 6-month follow-up, confirmed by TEE. During the follow-up, 2 severe pericardiac effusions were noted, and 2 ischemic strokes were observed. Four device-related thromboses were resolved after anticoagulation treatment. Ternary organic solar cells (T-OSCs) have attracted significant attention as high-performance devices. In recent years, T-OSCs have achieved remarkable progress with power conversion efficiency (PCE) exceeding 19%. However, the introduction of the third component complicates the intermolecular interaction compared to the binary blend, resulting in poor controllability of active layer and limiting performance improvement. To address these issues, dual-functional third components have been developed that not only broaden the spectral range but also optimize morphology. In this review, the effect of the third component on expanding the absorption range of T-OSCs is first discussed. Second, the extra functions of the third component are introduced, including adjusting the crystallinity and molecular stack in active layer, regulating phase separation and purity, altering molecular orientation of the donor or acceptor. Purpose: Left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) has emerged as a physiological and stable form of pacing. We aim to compare the mechanical ventricular synchrony of LBBP, LBFP, and LVSP., Methods: Proximal Left bundle branch pacing (LBBP), left bundle fascicular pacing (LBFP) and left ventricular septal pacing (LVSP) were identified in patients with bradycardia who successfully underwent LBBAP. Patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) < 50% or QRS duration (QRSd) ≥ 120 ms were excluded. By using electrocardiograms, the left ventricular activation time (LVAT) and QRS duration (QRSd) were measured to examine electrophysiological synchrony. As indications of mechanical synchrony, global longitudinal strain (GLS), global circumferential strain (GCS), global radial strain (GRS), and peak strain dispersion (PSD) were evaluated by using 2-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE)., Results: In 56 patients, data were collected during LBBP (n = 18), LBFP (n = 16), and LVSP (n = 22). LVSP resulted in a longer LVAT (91.3 ± 14.9 ms) than LBBP (77.1 ± 10.8 ms, P < 0.05) and LBFP (72.1 ± 9.6 ms, P < 0.05), but all three groups had similar QRSd. There were no differences in GLS, GCS, GRS, or PSD between LBBP, LBFP, and LVSP., Conclusions: In patients with normal cardiac function and narrow QRS, though LBBAP with LBB capture resulted in better electrophysiological synchrony than without, the mechanical synchrony of the three groups was comparable., (© 2023. Organic solar cells (OSCs) are considered as a promising new generation of clean energy. Bulk heterojunction (BHJ) structure has been widely employed in the active layer of efficient OSCs. However, precise regulation of morphology in BHJ is still challenging due to the competitive coupling between crystallization and phase separation. Recently, a novel pseudo-planar heterojunction (PPHJ) structure, prepared through solution sequential deposition, has attracted much attention. It is an easy-to-prepare structure in which the phase separation structures, interfaces, and molecular packing can be separately controlled. Employing PPHJ structure, the properties of OSCs, such as power conversion efficiency, stability, transparency, flexibility, and so on, are usually better than its BHJ counterpart. Hence, a comprehensive understanding of the film-forming process, morphology control, and device performance of PPHJ structure should be considered. In terms of the representative works about PPHJ, this review first introduces the fabrication process of active layers based on PPHJ structure. Second, the widely applied morphology control methods in PPHJ structure are summarized. Then, the influences of PPHJ structure on device performance and other property are reviewed, which largely expand its application. Owing to alterations in the environment and human activities, the quality of surface water is declining. Despite a substantial number of studies on the factors that impact water quality, there is still a need for a better understanding of the major causes of water quality degradation. This study fused multi-source data using partial least squares structural equation modeling to evaluate the effects of weather, soil composition, and geographical features on the water quality of the East Liao River (ELR), Jilin Province, China. The impacts of land-use practices on water quality at different buffer scales were analyzed. The most significant correlation between land use and water quality was observed at a distance of 4 km. The severity of water pollution was significantly influenced by soil type, with a path coefficient of 0.689 (p < 0.001). Conversely, landscape factors exhibited a notable adverse effect, indicated by a path coefficient of -0.608 (p < 0.001). Additionally, meteorological factors exhibited a significant impact, with a path coefficient of 0.463 (p < 0.001). The indirect effects of landscape elements on water quality were also examined. Water quality could be indirectly influenced by landscape through soil factors, as evidenced by a path coefficient of -0.572 (p < 0.01). In this study, new ideas for studying water quality drivers using multi-source data fusion are introduced. Thin-film silicon solar cells (TSSC) has received great attention due to its advantages of low cost and eco-friendly. However, traditional single-layer patterned solar cells (SPSC) still fall short in light-trapping efficiency. This article presents an all layers patterned (ALP) conical nanostructured TSSC to enhance the low absorption caused by the thin absorption layers. The Finite-Difference Time-Domain result shows that a photocurrent density up to 41.27 mA/cm 2 can be obtained for the structure, which is 31.39% higher than that of the SPSC. An electrical optimization simulation of doping concentration was carried out on the parameters of the optically optimal structure of the model. The power conversion efficiency is 17.15%, which is 1.72 times higher than that of the planar structure. These results demonstrate a success for the potential and prospect of the fully patterned nanostructures in thin-film photovoltaic devices.

Background: To evaluate the feasibility of using radiolabeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) PET/CT imaging to assess activated fibroblasts in the atria of individuals with AF and to identify factors contributing to enhanced atrial activity., Methods: We constructed left atrial appendage (LAA) pacing beagle dog AF models (n = 5) and conducted 18 F-FAPI PET/CT imaging at baseline and eight weeks after pacing. Right atrial (RA) specimens were collected from these models. Additionally, 28 AF patients and ten age- and sex-matched healthy volunteers underwent 18 F-FAPI PET/CT imaging., Results: RA of AF beagles showed increased 18 F-FAPI uptake. Among AF patients, 18 out of 28 (64.3%) exhibited enhanced atrial FAPI activity. No atrial 18 F-FAPI uptake was observed in the sham beagle and healthy volunteers. In animal RA specimens, 18 F-FAPI activity correlated positively with FAP mRNA (r = .98, P = .002) and protein (r = .82, P = .03) levels, as well as collagen I mRNA expression (r = .85, P = .02). B-type natriuretic peptide levels were associated with atrial 18 F-FAPI activity (OR = 3.01, P = .046)., Conclusion: This proof-of-concept study suggests that 18 F-FAPI PET/CT imaging may be a feasible method for evaluating activated fibroblasts in the atria of AF patients., (© 2023. Slow light devices have significant applications in memory, switching, and quantum optics. However, the design and fabrication of slow light devices with large tunable group delay are still challenging. Here, a graphene-based slow light device that can electrically modulate the group delay of terahertz (THz) waves is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The unit cell of the device consists of a U-shaped metal resonator and an Ω-shaped metal resonator, with three graphene ribbons embedded between the two resonators. Under electrical stimuli, a relatively high amplitude modulation depth of 74% is achieved and the maximum transmission amplitude is as high as 0.7 at the transmission peak of 0.6 THz. Most importantly, the maximum group delay variation reaches 5 ps at 0.76 THz and the maximum group delay amplitude is as high as 8.8 ps. The experiment shows good agreement with simulation. This study paves a new way for developing novel switchable nanophotonic devices and slow light devices.

The environmental risks posed by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and the diversity of their anthropogenic origins make them a global issue. Therefore, it is of utmost significance for protecting the aquatic environment and the growth of neighboring populations to identify their possible origins and ecological risk. Here, we detail the contamination profiles of 15 PAHs found in the East Liao River's surface waters in Jilin Province and use the receptor model Absolute Principal Component Analysis - Multiple Linear Regression (APCS-MLR) and diagnostic ratios method to identify the primary potential sources of pollution. Based on the natural hazard risk formation theory (NHRFT), an ecological risk assessment (ERA) model for PAHs in the East Liao River was developed. The method assesses the ecological risk status of PAHs by integrating the risk quotient (RQ) approach and the DPSIRM (driving force, pressure, state, impact, response, management) conceptual framework. Total concentrations in the surface water body were between 396.42 and 624.06 ng/L, with an average of 436.99 ng/L. The source research revealed that coal, biomass, and traffic emission sources are the most likely PAH contributors to the East Liao River. The ERA found that the majority of the sites' locations of the study were at low risk for PAHs in surface water bodies (30.7 % and 32.2 %, respectively), while only a tiny percentage of sites were at high or very high risk (1.8 % and 13.6 %). Microwave-assisted chemical reactions have been widely used, but the overheating effect limits further applications. The aim of this paper is to investigate the coupling degree of the electromagnetic field and thermal field in microwave-heating chemical reactions whose polarization changes as the reactions proceed. First, the entropy-balance equation of microwave-heating polar-molecule reactions is obtained. Then, the coupling degree of the electromagnetic field and the thermal field in microwave-heating polar-molecule reactions is derived, according to the entropy-balance equation. Finally, the effects of reaction processes on the degree of coupling are discussed. When the time scale of the component-concentration variation is much greater than the wave period during the chemical processes, the degree of coupling is sufficiently small, and the electric and thermal fields are considered as weakly coupled. On the other hand, the degree of coupling may change during the reactions. If the absolute value of the coupling degree becomes larger, due to the change in component concentration, this will lead to a transition from weak coupling to strong coupling.

In this paper, we propose a multi-channel photonic crystal fiber sensor, which adopts dual-polarization and multiple materials to effectively reduce the mutual interference between channels and enhance the surface plasmon resonance, thus achieving simultaneous detection of a multi-channel with low interference. Four channels are polished around the cylindrical fiber, and then different metal films (gold or silver) and plasmonic materials (titanium dioxide, thallium pentoxide, or graphene) are added to the sensing area of each channel. All channels detect refractive indices in the range of 1.34 to 1.42. The sensing performance of the fiber optic sensor was numerically investigated using the full vector finite element method. After the optimization of structural parameters, the maximum wavelength sensitivity of channel-1, channel-2, channel-3, and channel-4 are 49,800 nm/RIU, 49,000 nm/RIU, 35,900 nm/RIU, and 36,800 nm/RIU, respectively. We have theoretically analyzed the sensor's capabilities for partial bio-detection and simulated its detection capability with a wavelength sensitivity of 11,500 nm/RIU for normal red blood cells and 12,200 nm/RIU for MCF-7 cancerous cells. Our proposed sensor has a novel design, can detect multiple channels simultaneously, has strong anti-interference capability and high sensitivity, and has good sensing characteristics.

Earth fissures are potential hazards that often cause severe damage and affect infrastructure, the environment, and socio-economic development. Owing to the complexity of the causes of earth fissures, the prediction of earth fissures remains a challenging task. In this study, we assess earth fissure hazard susceptibility mapping through four advanced machine learning algorithms, namely random forest (RF), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), Naïve Bayes (NB), and K-nearest neighbor (KNN). Using Qa' Jahran Basin in Yemen as a case study area, 152 fissure locations were recorded via a field survey for the creation of an earth fissure inventory and 11 earth fissure conditioning factors, comprising of topographical, hydrological, geological, and environmental factors, were obtained from various data sources. The outputs of the models were compared and analyzed using statistical indices such as the confusion matrix, overall accuracy, and area under the receiver operating characteristics (AUROC) curve. The obtained results revealed that the RF algorithm, with an overall accuracy of 95.65% and AUROC, 0.99 showed excellent performance for generating hazard maps, followed by XGBoost, with an overall accuracy of 92.39% and AUROC of 0.98, the NB model, with overall accuracy, 88.43% and AUROC, 0.96, and KNN model with general accuracy, 80.43% and AUROC, 0.88), respectively. Such findings can assist land management planners, local authorities, and decision-makers in managing the present and future earth fissures to protect society and the ecosystem and implement suitable protection measures., (© 2022. In this study, we aim to evaluate whether AI-guided PVI improves clinical outcomes compared to CF-guided PVI in patients with paroxysmal AF (PAF)., Methods: Patients undergoing first-time radiofrequency ablation for PAF were randomized in a 2:1 ratio to two groups: AI-guided PVI and CF-guided PVI. In the AI group, AI ≥500 was recommended at the anterior/superior/inferior walls, 350-400 at the posterior wall, and inter-lesion distance ≤4 mm. The primary endpoint is the freedom from atrial arrhythmia recurrence during 12 months follow-up, without antiarrhythmic drug therapy (ADT). The key secondary endpoints include intra-procedural efficiency and peri-procedural complications., Results: Two hundred twenty five patients were randomized (AI group [n = 149] and CF group [n = 76]). First-pass isolation rate in AI group was significantly higher than that in CF group (58.3% vs. 43.4%, p = .035). After a median follow-up of 12.2 months, 154/225 (68.4%) of patients were free from atrial arrhythmia recurrence without ADT, which was higher in AI group compared with CF group, but without significant difference (71.1% vs. 63.2%, p = .253). The incidence of peri-procedural complications is low and without difference between two groups., Conclusions: AI-guided ablation provided higher acute efficacy than CF-guided ablation in PV isolation for patients with paroxysmal AF. Based on graphene's phase modulation property and vanadium dioxide's amplitude modulation property, we developed an array reflector for terahertz frequencies that is individually adjustable. Starting with a theoretical analysis, we look into the effects of voltage on the Fermi level of graphene and temperature on the conductivity of vanadium dioxide, analyze the beam focusing characteristics, and finally link the controllable quantities with the reflected beam characteristics to independently regulate each cell in the array. The simulation findings demonstrate that the suggested array structure can precisely manage the focus point's position, intensity, and scattering degree and that, with phase compensation, it can control the wide-angle incident light. The array structure offers a novel concept for adjustable devices and focusing lenses, which has excellent potential for study and application.

Based on coupled-mode theory (CMT) and the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) approach, we propose a graphene metasurface-based and multifunctional polarization beam splitter that is dynamically tunable. The structure, comprising two graphene strips at the top and bottom and four triangular graphene blocks in the center layer, can achieve triple plasma-induced transparency (PIT). In a single polarization state, the computational results reveal that synchronous or asynchronous six-mode electro-optical switching modulation may be performed by modifying the Fermi levels of graphene, with a maximum modulation degree of amplitude (MDA) of 97.6% at 5.148 THz. In addition, by varying the polarization angle, a polarization-sensitive, tunable polarization beam splitter (PBS) with an extinction ratio and insertion loss of 19.6 dB and 0.35 dB at 6.143 THz, respectively, and a frequency modulation degree of 25.2% was realized. Combining PIT with polarization sensitivity provides a viable platform and concept for developing graphene metasurface-based multifunctional and tunable polarization devices.

Background: Benefits of adjunctive ablation strategies beyond circumferential pulmonary vein isolation (CPVI) are uncertain in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (PeAF)., Objectives: This study sought to compare clinical outcomes of CPVI plus low-voltage area (LVA) modification during STABLE-SR (SubsTrate ABlation in the LEft Atrium during Sinus Rhythm) vs circumferential pulmonary vein isolation (CPVI) alone in patients with PeAF., Methods: From March 2018 to August 2019, 300 patients with PeAF who underwent de novo ablation were recruited and prospectively randomized to either STABLE-SR group (n = 150) or CPVI alone (n = 150) group. In the STABLE-SR group, after CPVI, high-density voltage mapping of left atrium (LA) was performed during sinus rhythm, and additive ablation targeted LVA and complex electrograms, if any were present. All the ablations were titrated by ablation index. The primary endpoint was freedom from documented atrial arrhythmias lasting for ≥30 s without the use of antiarrhythmic drugs, after a single ablation procedure and blanking period of 3 months., Results: After 18 months, atrial-arrhythmia-free survival did not differ significantly between STABLE-SR group and CPVI alone group (67.2% vs 67.4%; HR: 0.89; 95% CI: 0.55-1.36; P = 0.52). Only around one-half of the patients (50.2%) had abnormal LA substrate with a medium LVA burden of 4.6% (2.1%-9.5%). However, the success rate differs dramatically between patients with normal vs abnormal LA substrate (84.8% vs 60.9%; P < 0.001)., Conclusions: Additional LVA ablation did not improve successful rates of CPVI in this PeAF cohort, of whom one-half had normal LA substrate. Voltage map could identify patients with PeAF with normal LA substrate who can achieve excellent rhythm control with CPVI alone. Refractory ventricular tachycardia (VT) often occurs in the context of organic heart disease. It is associated with significantly high mortality and morbidity rates. Antiarrhythmic drugs and catheter ablation represent the two main treatment options for refractory VT, but their use can be associated with inadequate therapeutic responses and procedure-related complications. Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is extensively applied in the precision treatment of solid tumors, with excellent therapeutic responses. Recently, this highly precise technology has been applied for radioablation of VT, and its early results demonstrate a favorable safety profile. This review presents the potential value of SBRT in refractory VT.

Two-dimensional (2D) materials, which have attracted attention due to intriguing optical properties, form a promising building block in optical and photonic devices. This paper numerically investigates a tunable and anisotropic perfect absorber in a graphene-black phosphorus (BP) nanoblock array structure. The suggested structure exhibits polarization-dependent anisotropic absorption in the mid-infrared, with maximum absorption of 99.73% for x-polarization and 53.47% for y-polarization, as determined by finite-difference time-domain FDTD analysis. Moreover, geometrical parameters and graphene and BP doping amounts are possibly employed to tailor the absorption spectra of the structures. Hence, our results have the potential in the design of polarization-selective and tunable high-performance devices in the mid-infrared, such as polarizers, modulators, and photodetectors.

A ternary strategy of halogen-free solvent processing can open up a promising pathway for the preparation of polymer solar cells (PSCs) on a large scale and can effectively improve the power conversion efficiency with an appropriate third component. Herein, the green solvent o -xylene ( o -XY) is used as the main solvent, and the non-fullerene acceptor Y6-DT-4F as the third component is introduced into the PBB-F:IT-4F binary system to broaden the spectral absorption and optimize the morphology to achieve efficient PSCs. The third component, Y6-DT-4F, is compatible with IT-4F and can form an "alloy acceptor", which can synergistically optimize the photon capture, carrier transport, and collection capabilities of the ternary device. Meanwhile, Y6-DT-4F has strong crystallinity, so when introduced into the binary system as the third component can enhance the crystallization, which is conducive to the charge transport. Consequently, the optimal ternary system based on PBB-F:IT-4F:Y6-DT-4F achieved an efficiency of 15.24%, which is higher than that of the binary device based on PBB-F:IT-4F (13.39%).

Halogen-substituted donor/acceptor materials are widely regarded as a promising strategy toward improved power-conversion efficiencies (PCEs) in polymer solar cells (PSCs). A chlorinated polymer donor, PClBTA-PS, and its non-chlorinated analogue, PBTA-PS, are synthesized. The PClBTA-PS-based devices show significant enhancements in terms of open-circuit voltage ( V OC = 0.82 V) and fill factor (FF = 76.20%). In addition, a PCE of 13.20% is obtained, which is significantly higher than that for the PBTA-PS-based devices (PCE = 7.63%). Grazing incident wide-angle X-ray scattering shows that the chlorinated polymer enables better π-π stacking in both pure and blend films. DFT and TD-DFT calculations as well as ultrafast photophysics measurements indicate that chlorinated PClBTA-PS has a smaller bonding energy and a longer spontaneous-emission lifetime. The results also reveal that the charge-transfer-state excitons in PClBTA-PS:IT4Cl blend films split into the charge-separated (CS) state via a faster dissociation path, which produces a higher yield of the CS state. Overall, this study provides a deeper understanding of how a halogen-substituted polymer can improve PSCs in the future.

Aims: This prospective study explored relevant factors and clinical significance of atrial 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF)., Methods and Results: One hundred AF patients underwent baseline FDG imaging prior to radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA). Of those, 30 subjects underwent additional FDG imaging at 3 months post-RFCA. Voltage mapping of the left atrium was analysed as a voltage score. Patients who received RFCA were followed for 26 months (17-31 months) to assess recurrence. At baseline FDG imaging, 74% of patients with persistent AF (PsAF) and 24% of patients with paroxysmal AF showed increased atrial FDG uptake. The prevalence was higher in the right atrium (49%) than in the left atrium (15%, P < 0.001) or left atrial appendage (21%, P < 0.001). Multivariate analysis demonstrated that PsAF and elevated B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) were related to enhanced right atrial (RA) activity, and increased epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) activity was predictive of left atrial (LA) activity. LA activity was inversely associated with voltage score, while increased FDG uptake in the right atrium was predictive of successful AF termination by RFCA. Atrial FDG activities decreased significantly post-RFCA, but none of the FDG parameters were predictive of AF recurrence., Conclusions: Enhanced RA activity was associated with elevated BNP level, whereas LA activity was related to the increased activity of EAT and inversely correlated with LA fibrosis. Background: Peripheral biomarkers may be affected by various factors, their reliability in reflecting local cardiac inflammatory status in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) needs further exploration. This prospective study was aimed to investigate the relationship between circulating biomarkers and local cardiac inflammation measured by epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) activity via 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) imaging in AF patients. Methods: From 2017 to 2018, 83 AF patients [43 persistent AF (PsAF) and 40 paroxysmal AF (PAF)] referred for radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) were recruited. Pre- and post-RFCA blood samples were collected to measure IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-18, TNF-α, Hsp27, Hsp60, Hsp70, PDGF-BB, MMP-2, MMP-9, MPO, TGF-β1, Gal-3, and sST2. Pre-RFCA FDG images were obtained to assess EAT activity. Sixty-seven patients (35 PAF and 32 PsAF) received RFCA were regularly followed for 27 (24, 29) months. Results: Higher hsCRP and IL-6 and lower TGF-β1 were demonstrated in PsAF patients compared with PAF patients. Multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that Gal-3 (OR: 1.221, 95% CI: 1.024-1.456, P = 0.026) and MPO (OR: 1.002, 95% CI: 1.001-1.003, P = 0.027) were independently correlated with EAT activity. The percentage decrease of Hsp60 linearly correlated with that of EAT activity post-RFCA (Spearman r s = 0.455, P = 0.019). Seventeen patients (10 PsAF and 7 PAF) had AF recurrence, but none of the selected biomarkers were predictive of post-RFCA recurrence. In recent years, the main kiwifruit producing region, central-south Shaanxi Province, has often suffered from the threat of extreme high temperatures. Assessing the risk of high-temperature disasters in the region is essential for the rational planning of agricultural production and the development of resilience measures. In this study, a database was established to assess the risk of a high-temperature disaster to kiwifruit. Then, four aspects, hazard, vulnerability, exposure and disaster prevention and mitigation capacity, were taken into account and 19 indexes were selected to make an assessment of the risk of a high-temperature disaster. At the same time, 16 indexes were selected for the assessment of the climatic suitability of kiwifruit in terms of light, heat, water, soil and topography, and were used as one of the indexes for exposure assessment. The analytic hierarchy process and the entropy weighting method were combined to solve the weights for each index. The results reveal that: (1) The Guanzhong Plain has a high climatic suitability for kiwifruit, accounting for 15.14% of the study area. (2) The central part of the study area and southern Shaanxi are at high risk, accounting for 22.7% of the study area. The major kiwifruit producing areas in Shaanxi Province (e.g., Baoji) are at a low risk level, which is conducive to the development of the kiwifruit industry. Our study is the first to provide a comprehensive assessment of the risk of a high-temperature disaster to the economic fruit kiwifruit, providing a reference for disaster resilience and mitigation.

Background: Thoracoscopic ablation has emerged as an effective therapy for patients with long-standing persistent Atrial fibrillation (LsPAF). We aimed to investigate the immediate electrophysiological characteristics following modified ablation with 3 circular and 3 linear lesions in the thoracoscopic procedure via a unilateral approach., Methods: Between May 2015 and October 2018, 40 patients underwent the one-stage hybrid procedure for LsPAF. Isolation of the pulmonary veins (PV) and left atrium posterior wall (LAPW), excision of the left atrial appendage (LAA), and high-density endocardial mapping and individualized percutaneous catheter ablation for AF termination were performed., Results: The modified thoracoscopic procedure may enable successful PV and LAPW isolation and LAA removal. Endocardial electrophysiological examination showed 6 out of 40 (15%) patients with a right PV gap, 3 (7.5%) patients with incomplete roof lesions, and 8 (20%) patients with incomplete Dallas lesions. A total of 44 driving areas were mapped and ablated. Thirty-five patients achieved procedural AF termination. After a mean follow-up period of 26 months, the success rate of a single procedure was 85%. Cox regression analysis demonstrated that the failure of procedural AF termination may be a risk factor in atrial tachyarrhythmia recurrence., Discussion: Endocardial electrophysiological examination is a necessary partner to thoracoscopic ablation. Our modified thoracoscopic ablation and driving areas-based ablation contribute to high rates of procedural AF termination, which may lead to reduced recurrence rate. The hybrid procedure may be an effective strategy for the management of LsPAF.

Proximal sensing offers a novel means for determination of the heavy metal concentration in soil, facilitating low cost and rapid analysis over large areas. In this respect, spectral data and model variables play an important role. Thus far, no attempts have been made to estimate soil heavy metal content using continuum-removal (CR), different preprocessing and statistical methods, and different modeling variables. Considering the adsorption and retention of heavy metals in spectrally active constituents in soil, this study proposes a method for determining low heavy metal concentrations in soil using spectral bands associated with soil organic matter (SOM) and visible-near-infrared (Vis-NIR). To rapidly determine the concentration of heavy metals using hyperspectral data, partial least squares regression (PLSR), principal component regression (PCR), and support vector machine regression (SVMR) statistical methods and 16 preprocessing combinations were developed and explored to determine an optimal combination. The results showed that the multiplicative scatter correction and standard normal variate preprocessing methods evaluated with the second derivative spectral transformation method could accurately determine soil Cr and Ni concentrations. The root-mean-square error (RMSE) values of Vis-NIR model combinations with PLSR, PCR, and SVMR were 0.34, 3.42, and 2.15 for Cr, and 0.07, 1.78, and 1.14 for Ni, respectively. Soil Cr and Ni showed strong spectral responses to the Vis-NIR spectral band. The R 2 value of the Vis-NIR-based PLSR model was higher than 0.99, and the RMSE value was 0.07-0.34, suggesting higher stability and accuracy. The results were more accurate for Ni than Cr, and PLSR showed the best performance, followed by SVMR and PCR. This perspective has critical implications for guiding quantitative biogeochemical analysis using proximal sensing data.

Background: Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) has become the cornerstone of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation, but long-term success rates remains suboptimal, due in large part to late PV reconnection and insufficient ostial substrate modification., Objective: To evaluate whether ablation index (AI)-guided PVI with electrical isolation and quantified ostial substrate modification improves clinical outcomes when compared with contact force (CF)-guided ablation in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF)., Methods: The PAF-AI trial (ChiCTR1900022041) is a prospective, multi-center, randomized controlled clinical trial enrolling patients with PAF with an indication for catheter ablation. Patients are randomized into a 2:1 fashion to two treatment arms: AI-guided PVI (n = 151) and CF-guided PVI (n = 75). In the AI-guided PVI group, real-time automated display of radiofrequency applications (Visitag™) is used with AI ≥ 500 recommended at the anterior/superior/inferior walls and 350-400 at the posterior wall. In CF-guided PVI group, the value and direction of CF are displayed, with the lesion dots manually annotated. The primary endpoint is the freedom from AF recurrence at 12 months following ablation, without antiarrhythmic drug. The primary pre-specified secondary endpoints include intraprocedural efficiency and peri-procedural complications., Conclusions: PAF-AI trial compares the effectiveness and safety of two different strategies of PVI in patients with PAF, AI-guided PVI versus more established CF-guided PVI. This prospective, multi-center, randomized controlled trial, with comparative data evaluating procedural and long-term follow-up results, aims to evaluate the impact of AI-guided strategy on AF ablation compared with the current standard of care RF ablation approach.

Traditional additives like 1,8-diiodooctane and 1-chloronaphthalene were successfully utilized morphology optimization of various polymer solar cells (PSCs) in an active layer, but their toxicity brought by halogen atoms limits their corresponding large-scale manufacturing. Herein, a new nontoxic halogen-free additive named benzyl benzoate (BB) was introduced into the classic PSCs (PTB7-Th:PC 71 BM), and an optimal power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 9.43% was realized, while there was a poor PCE for additive free devices (4.83%). It was shown that BB additives could inhibit PC 71 BM's overaggregation, which increased the interface contact area and formed a better penetration path of an active layer. In addition, BB additives could not only boost the distribution of a PTB7-Th donor at the surface, beneficial to suppressing exciton recombination in inverted devices but also boost the crystallinity of a blend layer, which is conducive to exciton dissociation and charge transport. Our work effectively improved a device performance by using a halogen-free additive, which can be referential for industrialization.

Herein, we propose a tunable plasmonic sensor with Fano resonators in an inverted U-shaped resonator. By manipulating the sharp asymmetric Fano resonance peaks, a high-sensitivity refractive index sensor can be realized. Using the multimode interference coupled-mode theory and the finite element method, we numerically simulate the influences of geometrical parameters on the plasmonic sensor. Optimizing the structure parameters, we can achieve a high plasmonic sensor with the maximum sensitivity for 840 nm/RIUand figure of merit for 3.9 × 10 5 . The research results provide a reliable theoretical basis for designing high sensitivity to the next generation plasmonic nanosensor.

As a major agricultural province in China, it is necessary to study the content of heavy metals in farmland soil and crop in Jilin Province and to evaluate the risks to ecology and human health. This study presented the work completed on 79 soil samples, 10 rice samples, 66 maize samples and 15 soybean samples collected from Jilin Province farmland and evaluated six heavy metals (Zn, Cu, Pb, Cd, Hg and As) concentrations. The results showed that the concentrations of the six heavy metals in farmland soil and crop samples from Jilin Province basically met the soil standards and food health standards of China. The agricultural soil pollution spatial distribution was the most serious in the south of Jilin Province and the lightest in the west. The non-carcinogenic risks faced by children eating crops were higher than those of adults, but the carcinogenic risks were lower than those of adults. Both of the two health risks to adults and children from eating crops were very limited. The results would help determine the heavy metals pollution in farmland soil in Jilin Province efficiently and accurately and helped decision makers to achieve a balance between production and environmental regulation.

The experiment was conducted to evaluate ileal digestibility of amino acids (AA) in 8 corn distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) fed to broilers and to establish prediction equations for standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of AA for broilers based on the physicochemical properties. A total of 1,152 1-day-old male broilers were divided into 2 test stages (from day 9 to 14 and from day 23 to 28). In each stage, 576 broilers were randomly allotted to 1 of 9 diets (8 replicates, 8 birds per replicate) including a nitrogen-free diet and 8 corn DDGS test diets. Titanium dioxide (0.5%) was included in all diets as an external marker. In 8 corn DDGS samples, the contents of aflatoxin B1, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, and zein were from 1.54 to 15.50 ppb, 0.44 to 5.12 ppm, 127.10 to 1062.46 ppb, and 3.10 to 26.89%, respectively; the content of lysine and methionine (Met) ranged from 0.36 to 0.67% (CV 21.51%) and from 0.16 to 0.74% (CV 58.04%), respectively. The SID of AA, except for valine and alanine, were significantly different (P < 0.05) at day 28. A positive correlation was observed (P < 0.05) between degree of lightness and SID of CP, Met, and total amino acid (TAA) at day 14. A negative correlation was observed (P < 0.05) between mycotoxins and SID of CP, lysine, Met, and TAA at day 28. The R 2 value of stepwise regression equations for predicting the SID of AA at day 14 and day 28 was best for glutamic acid (R 2  = 1.000 using ether extract, crude fiber, CP, aflatoxin B1, and neutral detergent fiber) and TAA (R 2  = 0.904 using ether extract), respectively. In conclusion, this experiment suggested mycotoxin can be used to predict the SID of AA in corn DDGS with reasonable accuracy, and the results of SID and prediction equations could be used to evaluate the digestibility of corn DDGS in broilers., (Copyright © 2020. Background: This retrospective study was designed to explore the factors relevant to increased atrial 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) who had undergone routine whole-body positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging., Methods and Results: Forty-eight consecutive AF patients (32 persistent, 16 paroxysmal) were identified from our routine FDG PET/CT database. Twenty-two control subjects were selected to establish the normal range of FDG uptake (maximum standardized uptake value, SUV max ) in target tissues. A target-to-background ratio (TBR) was calculated to determine abnormal uptake in the atrium and atrial appendage (AA). Univariate comparisons and multivariate regression analyses were conducted to explore the factors associated with the increased FDG accumulation in the atrium and AA. Seventeen AF patients, all with persistent AF, had increased atrial FDG uptake. Most of them (14, or 82.4%) had increased uptake in the right atrium. Eleven AF patients, 9 with persistent AF, had increased uptake in the AA, and bilateral AAs were equally involved. Multivariate logistic regression analyses identified that female gender, persistent AF, and activity in epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) were independent factors predicting the increased activity of the atrium; also, SUV max of the left ventricle was found for the AA. In addition, multivariate linear regression analyses showed that EAT activity was the only independent variable linearly correlated with the activity of the atrium and AA., Conclusions: Atrial uptake was present in persistent AF and localized mainly in the right atrium, whereas bilateral AAs could be equally involved. Multiple factors contributed to the increased activity in atrium; in particular, the EAT activity was independently correlated with the activity of the atrium and AA.

Background: Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) from left ventricular (LV) summit remain challenging for the risk of coronary artery injury. Computed tomographic or intracardiac echocardiography may be helpful, but both still have many limitations. CartoUNIVU module has rarely been used in PVC ablation., Methods: A total of 22 patients (14 men: mean age 56.4 ± 13.3 years) with an electrocardiogram indication of summit PVCs were included in the two centers study. A novel strategy ablation with the Image Integration Module CartoUNIVUTM module was performed for all the patients with PVCs originating from LV summit area, especially to prevent the coronary artery injury., Results: The procedure time was 78.6 ± 22.7 minutes, and the fluoroscopy time was 12.5 ± 3.1 minutes. The distance between the target and nearest coronary artery was 8.0 ± 3.1 mm. Three patients with the distance to the nearest coronary artery <5 mm. During a mean follow-up of 11.0 ± 1.7 months, 21/22 (95.5%) patients were free from clinical PVC. The influence of climate change on wildland fire has received considerable attention, but few studies have examined the potential effects of climate variability on grassland area burned within the extensive steppe land of Eurasia. We used a novel statistical approach borrowed from the social science literature-dynamic simulations of autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) models-to explore the relationship between temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, wind speed, sunlight, and carbon emissions on grassland area burned in Xilingol, a large grassland-dominated landscape of Inner Mongolia in northern China. We used an ARDL model to describe the influence of these variables on observed area burned between 2001 and 2018 and used dynamic simulations of the model to project the influence of climate on area burned over the next twenty years. Our analysis demonstrates that area burned was most sensitive to wind speed and temperature. A 1% increase in wind speed was associated with a 20.8% and 22.8% increase in observed and predicted area burned respectively, while a 1% increase in maximum temperature was associated with an 8.7% and 9.7% increase in observed and predicted future area burned. Dynamic simulations of ARDL models provide insights into the variability of area burned across Inner Mongolia grasslands in the context of anthropogenic climate change., Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist.

Metal oxide/semiconductor heterostructures exhibit great potential for high-performance electronic device applications, but the interfacial defects resulting from lattice mismatch pose significant challenges to improving the performance of these devices. In this study, we reported a construction of a single crystal Ti 2.5 O 3 /GaAs heterostructure with minimum lattice mismatch between titanium sub-oxides and GaAs substrate. Low lattice mismatch values of 0.3% or 0.6% can be achieved along different orientations. Further experimental analyses demonstrate that high crystalline Ti 2.5 O 3 (0 1 0) film can be grown layer by layer on GaAs (0 0 1) substrate with highly compatible interface. The defect-free interface significantly suppresses the diffusion of As and Ga ions, which impedes the formation of arsenic oxide and gallium oxide at the interface. Due to the high-quality Ti 2.5 O 3 layer, the integrated BaTiO 3 (250 nm)/SrTiO 3 /Ti 2.5 O 3 (5 nm)/GaAs heterostructure exhibits an enhanced hysteresis loop with a remnant polarization of 9.85 µC/cm 2 at 600 kV/cm and a small leakage current density of 1 × 10 -5  A/cm 2 at -500 kV/cm. The considerable advantage of this Ti 2.5 O 3 /GaAs heterostructure provides an example of integrating other functional oxides for GaAs with suppressed ion diffusion. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common type of heart arrhythmia. Currently, the pathogenesis of AF is not fully understood yet. A growing body of evidence highlighted the strong association between inflammation and the pathogenesis of AF. C-reactive protein (CRP) is an inflammation marker with increased expression in AF. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine if CRP promotes inflammation, which may sequentially mediate the onset of AF and the concurrent atrial fibrosis, through TLR4/NF-κB/TGF-β pathway. HL-1 cells were treated with either 25 or 50 μg/ml recombinant human CRP. TGF-β1 and NF-κB inhibitors were given either solely or together to the 50 μg/ml CRP-treated cells. Cell proliferation, apoptosis, the expression of apoptotic factors and TLR4, IL-6, TGF-β1, Smad2, and the phosphorylation of Smad2 were determined. Data showed that CRP induced dose-dependent inhibition on cell proliferation and promoted cell apoptosis, which was induced through both intrinsic and extrinsic pathways. Such effects were reversed by inhibiting TGF-β1 and/or NF-κB. Inhibition of TGF-β1 and/or NF-κB also reduced the expression of TLR4 and IL-6. Inhibition of NF-κB alone weakened the expression of TGF-β1 and phosphorylation of Smad2. Our study demonstrated that CRP is not only a marker, but also an important mediator in the induction of inflammation and likely the pathogenesis of AF. We for the first time reported CRP-induced activation and cross-talk between TLR4 and NF-κB/TGF-β1 signaling pathway in a cardiomyocyte model. Atrial remodeling plays a significant role during the progression of atrial fibrillation (AF). Left atrial wall thickness (LAT) is a subjective and easily acquirable indicator referring to structural remodeling. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the association between LAT and atrial remodeling substrate, and to explore the predictive role of LAT about strong maintenance substrate and poor response to catheter ablation.LAT was measured by cardiac computed tomography in 2 selected locations (roof and floor) in 100 persistent AF patients. Then the low-dose-ibutilide-facilitated catheter ablation was performed and atrial maintenance substrate was categorized as weak, mild, and strong, based on the response to circumferential pulmonary vein isolation or complex fractionated atrial electrograms ablation. During follow-up, the success rate was evaluated. LAT showed a progressive thickening tendency from weak, mild, to strong maintenance substrate (roof: 2.2 mm vs. 2.6 mm vs. 3.9 mm, P < .0001; floor: 1.7 mm vs. 2.0 mm vs. 2.5 mm, P < .0001). During follow-up, the success rate of ablation was decreased with the maintenance substrate strengthening (weak 80%, mild 64.53%, strong 31.43%, P = .009). LA roof thickness >3.10 mm might be the predictor to strong atrial maintenance substrate and poor response to ablation.LAT was associated with the remodeling extent of atrial maintenance substrate and might predict the response to catheter ablation. These findings could help the clinicians to select the appropriate ablative strategy and predict the complexity and prognosis before catheter ablation.

Objectives: To investigate the association of serum autoantibodies against M2-muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (anti-M2-R) with atrial fibrosis in long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) patients., Methods: Twenty-four long-standing persistent AF patients, scheduled to undergo hybrid ablation surgery, were enrolled in the study. Twenty-six patients with sinus rhythm, scheduled to undergo coronary artery bypass grafting surgery, were enrolled into the non-AF group. We detected serum anti-M2-R levels. Left atrial appendages were subjected to histological and molecular biological assays. Patients in the AF group received follow-up for two years., Results: The AF group showed significantly higher serum anti-M2-R levels compared to the non-AF group (496.2 ± 232.5 vs. 86.3 ± 25.7 pmol/L, p < 0.001). The AF group exhibited severe fibrosis in the left atrial appendages, as indicated by increased collagen volume fraction (45.2 ± 4.7% vs. 27.6 ± 8.3%, p < 0.001), and higher levels of collagen I (0.52 ± 0.04 vs. 0.24 ± 0.06, p < 0.001) and collagen III (0.51 ± 0.07 vs. 0.36 ± 0.09, p < 0.001). TGF- β 1 and CTGF were also upregulated in the AF group. A positive correlation between serum anti-M2-R levels and fibrosis of the left atrial appendage and fibrogenic indexes was observed., Conclusions: Serum anti-M2-R levels are higher in AF patients and are associated with the severity of atrial fibrosis. In addition, serum anti-M2-R levels are positively correlated to TGF- β 1 and CTGF expression in the left atrial appendage.

Climate and weather are important factors that determine winter tourism destinations and snow resources and temperature affect the income of the winter tourism industry. Against the background of climate change, abnormal fluctuations in climate elements bring a series of challenges for winter tourism and cause potential losses to the tourism industry. To effectively assess and plan winter tourism destinations, this study establishes the snow abundance and meteorological suitability indices from snow resource and weather conditions to express winter tourism resources, respectively. The coupling relationship of the two indices was used to analyze the spatial suitability of winter tourism destinations based on the copula function. By case analysis, it was found that the Frank copula one is the best fitting function for winter tourism suitability analysis. The Yushu⁻Jiutai⁻Yitong⁻Dongliao line is the boundary of spatial suitability in the study area. The eastern areas of the boundary have great potential for winter tourism and could strive to develop ice-snow projects, whereas the western regions are relatively weak. This study has guiding significance for winter tourism destination development and resource spatial layout.

The accumulation characteristics and potential risk posed by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soils and vegetables grown in the home garden and agricultural field were investigated in this research. The average concentrations of 16 PAHs in soils and vegetables in the home garden were 508.9 ng/g and 197.3 ng/g, respectively, and in agricultural fields were 589.9 ng/g and 171.3 ng/g, respectively. The 16 PAHs concentrations of vegetables in the home garden were a little higher than in agricultural field. The most abundant PAHs in soils and vegetables was Phe, followed by Fla and Pyr in our study area. The concentrations of low-molecular-weight PAHs (L-PAHs) were higher in vegetables as compared to higher molecular weight 4-6 ring PAHs (H-PAHs). The results of plant concentration factor (PCF) indicated that L-PAHs have greater mobility in our research. Based on the results of PAH ratios, the main sources of the PAHs in soils were determined to be the combustion of biomass, coal, and petroleum. The total values of incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) for males and females induced by soils and vegetables in home garden and agricultural field were all about 10 -7 and 10 -10 . All the ILCRs value were lower than the baseline value, indicated that the carcinogenic risk for the soils and vegetables contaminated with PAHs in our study area for the residents was negligible., (Copyright © 2018 Elsevier Inc.
