This study examines the factors motivating domestic violence perpetrators to participate in a voluntary-based intervention program. The experiences and determining factors around men's positive and negative responses to this invitation were examined through semi-structured interviews with professionals, observations, and reflexive notes during the first meeting with 29 men. Two major themes emerged from the thematic analysis: the factors making men more likely to attend the first meeting or resisting the group intervention. These findings can help professionals recognize the challenges of inviting perpetrators to interventions, especially in countries with insufficient laws for mandated domestic violence perpetrator programs. Background: The most important cause of mortality due to long bone fractures in the elderly patients are femoral fractures that require total hip arthroplasty (THA). THA surgeries may cause severe postoperative pain, long hospital stays, a need for transfusion and mortality., Objective: Compare outcomes of spinal anesthesia (SA) versus combined sciatic nerve/lumbar plexus block (CSLPB)., Design: Retrospective cohort trıal., Setting: University hospital in Turkey., Patients and Methods: We selected patients from the electronic medical records by date of surgery (most recent first) and compared demographic and pre- and postoperative clinical characteristics including the amount of opioid use within the first 48 postoperative hours, 30-day mortality rates, length of hospital stay, intraoperative oxygen saturation (SpO 2 ) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) values, duration of the surgery, and blood transfusion need., Main Outcome Measure: Opioid use within the first 48 postoperative hours., Sample Size: 204, 102 patients in each group with overall median (IQR) age of 82 (10.2) years., Results: There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of the amount of opioid use within the postoperative 48 hours, 30-day mortality rates, intensive care need, duration of the surgery, blood transfusion need, and length of hospital stay. While the intraoperative SpO 2 value was lower in the CSLPB group ( P =.03), MAP values were lower in the SA group ( P =.046). Preoperative American Society of Anesthesiology score (ASA) scores ( P =.039) and the number of comorbidities were higher in the CSLPB group., Conclusion: We prefer CSLPB used with standardized sedation protocols for anesthesia in THA surgery in elderly patients., Limitations: Retrospective design and single-centered., Conflict of Interest: None.

This study explores the mediating role of health literacy on the association between health care system distrust and vaccine hesitancy. An online survey including Personal Information Form, Health Care System Distrust Scale, Vaccine Hesitancy Scale, and Health Literacy Scale were applied to 620 participants. The degree of applying mask-wearing, hygiene rule and physical distance, and the level of COVID-19 vaccine literacy were modeled with hierarchical multiple regression analysis to have a deeper analysis of participants' actions towards COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. It was found that health care system distrust and health literacy were the most important variables that had an impact on vaccine hesitancy. Based on the mediation analysis, the total effect of health care system distrust on vaccine hesitancy was statistically significant. Participants who held a low level of health literacy and a high perception of the health care system distrust experienced more vaccine hesitancy. The findings suggested the health literacy mediated the relationship between health care system distrust and vaccine hesitancy. Objective: This study examines the factors associated with the willingness to get the coronavirus vaccine among individuals aged 18 and above., Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Turkey. The participants aged 18 and older were recruited between December, 2020 and January, 2021 through conventional social media sites. Snowball sampling was used. An anonymous questionnaire consisted of demographics, vaccination experiences, and perceived risk of coronavirus disease., Results: 1202 women and 651 men were included in the data analysis. Findings showed that demographics, vaccination experience, and perceived risk of getting COVID-19 were explained. 37% of the variance in people's willingness to get the COVID-19 vaccination was according to hierarchical logistic regression. Furthermore, increasing age, being male, acquiring positive information about COVID-19 vaccines, having a lower level of vaccine hesitancy, the high level of worry about COVID-19, and low level of perceptions of the possibility of becoming infected by the COVID-19 were the main predictors of COVID-19 vaccine willingness., Conclusions: Factors affecting adults' willingness to be inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines were related to demographics, vaccination experiences, and perceived risk of getting COVID-19. We recommend that public health authorities and practitioners should consider these multiple factors regarding vaccine confidence to achieve herd immunity.

The role of parenting may be challenging and complex for parents who are violent in their relationship and employ poor and negative parenting practices. Synthesizing the knowledge of safe father-child interactions in post-domestic violence incidents and positive fathering skills is the major goal of this review. It also aims to identify the available literature on key factors and conditions around child adjustment following intimate partner violence incidents. In order to achieve these goals, this article applied a narrative style literature review. Electronic databases and websites of children's social services and domestic violence interventions were searched, and 12 research studies met the criteria for the review. The synthesis of the literature suggests that improving custody workers' knowledge of intimate partner violence and developing father's parenting practices during interventions are essential in achieving the safety of father-child interactions. The father's regular participation in perpetrator interventions and parenting programs can prevent them from continuing to abuse their partners and children during visitations. As a result, an approach that acknowledges the multifaceted factors for safe father-child contact and the multifaceted means of reducing child adjustment problems after parental separation was developed.

Introduction: Femoral Nerve Block (FNB) and Adductor Canal Block (ACB) methods, which are regional analgesic techniques, are successfully used in postoperative pain control after total knee arthroplasty. This study aimed to compare adductor canal block method that was preoperatively used and femoral nerve block method in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients who underwent spinal anesthesia in terms of factors effecting patient satisfaction and determine whether these methods were equally effective or not., Methods: A total of 80 patients between the ages of 60 and 75 who were in the American Society of Anesthesia (ASA) physical status of I-III were prospectively included in this randomized study. Patients (n = 40) who received FNB were called Group FNB and patients (n = 40) who received Adductor Canal Block were called Group ACB., Results: Although mean postoperative VAS values were lower in FNB group only in the first hour (p = 0.02) there was no significant difference between the groups in the third, fifth, seventh, ninth, 12th and 24th hours (p≥0.05). Although Bromage scores were lower in FNB group in the first, second, third, fourth and fifth hours there was no statistically significant difference between the groups (p≥0.05). When mobilization time, patient satisfaction level, time of first analgesia, intraoperative sedation need, and recovery time of sensorial block were compared no statistically significant difference was found (p≥0.05)., Discussion: When ACB and FNB that are used for postoperative analgesia in patients who undergo total knee arthroplasty are compared in terms of factors affecting patient satisfaction it is observed that they result in the same level (non-inferiority) of patient satisfaction., Conclusion: We recommend the routine use of ACB method with FNB in total knee arthroplasty.
