Introduction: Bullying is a widespread public health issue, found in different contexts (e.g. schools, universities, workplaces, families), and it has negative consequences on both the perpetrator and the victim. There is a lack of studies addressing bullying among university students in Arab countries and more specifically in Lebanon. The objective of our study was to determine the prevalence of bullying among a sample of university students in Lebanon, its forms, and associated factors., Methods: The study consists of a cross-sectional online survey addressed to university students in Lebanon that evaluates sociodemographic data, presence and type of bullying, history of bullying during childhood, adverse childhood experiences, daily life functioning, and mental health status (reported psychiatric disorders, substance use, self-harming behaviors, and suicidal attempts). Chi-Square and Fisher's exact tests were used to compare the results between victims of bullying and the rest of the sample., Results: Three hundred and twenty-seven university students participated in this study. The prevalence of bullying was 14.1%. The main forms of reported bullying were verbal (58.7%) and social bullying (65.2%). The main associated factors were being a witness of bullying at university (84.8% vs. 56.2% - P<.001) and history of cyberbullying (13% vs. 4.6% - P=.024). Among students who reported current bullying, 28.3% had a psychiatric diagnosis, 19.6% reported substance use, 15.2% had self-harming behaviors, and 8.7% had suicide attempts. Victims of bullying in the university reported a significant negative impact on their daily lives (lack of interest in daily activities, academic decline) (83.7%) and mental health concerns (psychiatric disorders, substance use, suicide attempts) (88.4%)., Conclusion: Even though bullying is an event less experienced in university than in school, it is nevertheless still present with potential negative impact on the victims. Nursing is recognized worldwide as an academic discipline. However, if we look at nursing training in Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland, this does not appear to be the case. Disparities persist not only in terms of initial training, but also in graduate and post-graduate training. The literature documenting the positive role of adapted physical activities (APA) in academic success is flourishing. It's widely accepted that practicing APA helps you succeed. However, the pathway linking the impact of physical activity on student health to academic success remains unclear, and there is still a great deal of ground to cover. The French National Association of Advanced Practice Nurses (Anfipa) works to promote the value of advanced practice nursing students, particularly through its university college. Recently, the U challenge was created, which in 2022 will become the Anfipa-Mutuelle nationale des hospitaliers trophy. This trophy will be awarded each year to the best EIPA writings. Introduction: Blended-learning methods could be a response to student nonattendance. Non-compulsory teaching combining e-learning/interactive face-to-face sessions has been implemented at Paris-Diderot Medical School for the teaching of intensive care and emergency medicine during the 2018/2019 university period. The aim of the study was to assess this newly-implemented blended teaching., Methods: Questionnaire submitted to the 388 DFASM3 medical students present at the faculty exam of intensive care/emergency medicine. Attendance at a teaching modality was defined by the follow-up of more than half of this teaching modality. Correlations between attendance at e-learning and/or interactive face-to-face sessions, and grade were performed., Results: A total of 358/388 (92%) students participated in this survey. A quarter of the students (88/321 - 25%) reported they usually attended at traditional lectures. Regarding blended-learning, 210/317 (67%) students reported having attended at e-learning courses and 84/321 (27%) attended at interactive face-to-face sessions. The distribution of students according to their attendance at e-learning and/or interactive face-to-face sessions was significantly different (P<0.01). There was a significant correlation (P<0.001) between attendance at e-learning and grade obtained at the faculty exam. Nevertheless, this correlation was also found for these students in another course taught traditionally. Overall, 309/315 (98%) students were satisfied with the blended teaching, 297/318 (93%) wanted its extent to the whole medical school's curriculum., Conclusion: The use of combined learning methods reached more students than traditional teachings and allowed the University to focus on its role of knowledge transfer., (Copyright © 2020 Société Nationale Française de Médecine Interne (SNFMI). Following the publication of the regulatory framework by the relevant ministries, the summer of 2018 was very busy for the university teams intending to offer, from September, an advanced nursing practice course. The training programme selected mainly follows on from existing initial training programmes but there are also a number of aspects which are particularly innovative in the nursing pathway. Setting up this training requires a change in social representations, still a source of challenges. Background: Experiences of hedonia (i.e., seeking pleasure) and eudaimonia (i.e., actualizing human potential in pursuit of meaningful goals) are central to the study of human well-being., Purpose: This study sought to examine levels of hedonia (pleasure) and eudaimonia (productivity) in a convenience sample of college (university) students' ( n = 264) daily activities, controlling for levels of perceived stress., Method: Data were gathered using a 24-hr time-use recall diary designed to assess objective and subjective information about everyday activities. Descriptions of self-reported everyday activities were coded into 20 activity types., Findings: Activities reported high in pleasure were eating, listening to music/watching movies, and exercise. Activities reported as high in productivity were studying and working. Activities reported as high in both pleasure and productivity were reported less frequently and often had a recognizable outcome or provided social connection., Implications: Developing a greater understanding of how college students experience their daily activities could strengthen programs designed to enable students to manage stress and sustain their well-being.

A contemporary reading of Romans 1:27 was disguised as a saying by Paul Benjamin, AD 58 and administered to 275 randomly selected members of a private Christian university community in south western Nigeria in West Africa. Participants were asked to respond to a two-item questionnaire on their perception of the cause of HIV/AIDS either as a judgment from God or consequence of individual lifestyle choices. The apparent consensus drifted in the direction of God as the culprit handing down his judgment to perpetrators of evil who engage in the homosexual lifestyle. The goal of this paper was to examine the implications of a judgmental stance on addressing the psychosocial needs of Persons Living with HIV/AIDS in religious environments. It also explores how service providers in faith-based environments can work around the Judgment versus Consequence tussle in providing non-discriminatory services to persons diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
