Objective: (1) A remote intervention with a positive impact on reducing anxiety and alcohol use. (4) Telenursing in mental health as a care strategy during COVID-19. to investigate the effect of a remote intervention on anxiety symptoms and alcohol use in users of the Primary Health Care service., Method: a quasi-experimental study conducted with 1,270 participants who answered the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-6. Of these, 1,033 interviewees scored for moderate/severe anxiety symptoms (STAI-6 > 3) and moderate/severe risk alcohol use (AUDIT-C > 3), and received the interventions via telephone calls with follow-up periods lasting seven and 180 days. For data analysis, a mixed-effects regression model was used., Results: the effect of the intervention performed was positive in reducing anxiety symptoms between T0 and T1 (µ=1.6, p<0.001) and in reducing the alcohol use pattern between T1 and T3 (µ=1.57, p<0.001)., Conclusion: the follow-up results suggest a positive effect of the intervention in reducing anxiety and the alcohol use pattern, which tends to be maintained over time. There is diverse evidence that the intervention proposed can be an alternative for preventive care in mental health, in situations where accessibility of the user or the professional is compromised.

Objectives: to perform content validity and verify the psychometric properties of the adapted version of an alcohol knowledge questionnaire and associated questions., Methods: a methodological study, in which a committee of judges analyzed the questionnaire item representativeness, clarity and relevance. Item response theory was used to assess the instrument psychometric properties applied to a sample of 240 health professionals., Results: the questions were adjusted according to judges' assessment, obtaining a satisfactory Content Validity Index (0.98). High discrimination ability and adequate difficulty levels were observed in 75% of multiple-choice questions and in 25% of statements., Conclusions: the instrument presented content validity with satisfactory indices. However, it is recommended that the questionnaire adapted in this study be used in different samples of health professionals from other parts of Brazil, in order to provide greater robustness to its reliability.

Objective: to identify and synthesize studies on the effects of cannabis use and its relation with SARS-CoV-2, as well as the therapeutic possibilities of using cannabinoids in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19., Methods: scoping review, in the BVS, PubMed, SCIELO, CINAHL, SCOPUS, Web of Science, MedNar, CAPES and ProQuest databases, with no language restriction and year limitation. Narrative synthesis was performed., Results: cannabis use causes changes in the respiratory and vascular system, it reduces the production of cytokines, which affects the users' immune system, increasing the susceptibility to infection and progression of COVID-19. However, studies have suggested the use of cannabinoids in the prophylaxis and treatment of COVID-19, due to their anti-inflammatory effect., Conclusions: the use of inhaled cannabis increases the progression and severity of the infection. On the other hand, the benefits of cannabinoids seem promising to modulate the immune system, but it needs further studies.

Objective: To perform criterion validation of the Key Question in Portuguese for screening at-risk alcohol use among users of Primary Healthcare services., Method: This is a psychometric study conducted with users of a Primary Healthcare service located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Participants responded to the Key Question which was applied in conjunction with the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test-C for concurrent validation and measurement of psychometric properties., Results: The sample consisted of 518 users. The Key Question presented 59% specificity and 99% sensitivity with respect to the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test-C in the general population. The accuracy was 81% in relation to this instrument. There was no influence of sociodemographic variables such as gender on the psychometric properties of the Key Question., Conclusion: The results indicate that the Key Question in Portuguese presented satisfactory psychometric qualities and suggest that its Portuguese version is as efficient for screening at-risk alcohol use as its reference standard, which subsidizes its use in Primary Healthcare.

Objective: To verify the effectiveness of the group brief intervention (GBI), performed by nurses in  motivational stages to change the pattern of alcohol intake., Method: Randomized controlled trial with 3-month follow-up. The ruler of readiness for change was applied in 180 individuals with risk or harmful alcohol intake pattern in basic health unit. Only the experimental group (EG) was submitted to the intervention. Both groups (experimental and control [CG]) participated in the follow-up., Results: EG had a mean score before GBI=6.55 (SD=3.41) points (preparation). After GBI=8.00 (SD=2.88) points (action) and in the follow-up 7.92 (SD=3.06) points (action). CG presented a mean score before GBI=5.42 (SD=3.26) points (preparation); after GBI=6.67 (SD=3.05) points (preparation) and in the follow up had a mean score of 4.80 (SD=2.86) points (contemplation). There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups at the motivational stages (p≤ 0,03)., Conclusion: It was evidenced that GBI was effective in increasing the motivation to change harmful alcohol intake.

Objective: To understand the perception of a multiprofessional team regarding the use of music in a therapeutic workshop developed by nurses., Method: Qualitative study, of the exploratory type. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, with the participation of 13 professionals from a Psychosocial Care Center in a municipality of Minas Gerais' Zona da Mata, and analyzed according to Michel Maffesoli's comprehensive sociology approach., Results: The testimonies revealed that the use of music in the nurse's activities in mental health represents a re-signification of nursing care and favors the user's subjectivity., Final Considerations: This study allowed us to show that nurses need to listen to the music that comes from the heart, from the soul, and to the truths that are not always stated in the scenarios of therapeutic practices with individuals going through psychic suffering. Therefore, the care offered should be centered on the human history, which wants to be unveiled and understood.

Objective: To identify the opinions of primary care nurses regarding mental illness and the care provided to this population., Methodology: Cross-sectional, quantitative study with the participation of 328 nurses of primary health care in Porto, Portugal. Data collected between April and August of 2018 through the scale "Opinions about Mental Illness" and socio demographic and labor questionnaire. Descriptive and correlational statistics were applied., Results: A total of 50% of the nurses presented positive opinions about the mental illness. Regarding the assistance provided in their unit of action, 53.4% ​​considered inadequate and 50.3% recognized as adequate their knowledge about the role that primary health care has in assisting the person with mental illness., Conclusion: Positive opinions and recognition of the importance of primary care to people with mental illness are important indicators for qualified mental health care outside the field of specialty.

Objective: To verify the effectiveness of brief group intervention, performed by nurses, in reducing the hazardous or harmful alcohol use in users of a primary health care service., Methods: Clinical and randomized trial with follow-up of three months. The sample had 180 individuals with a pattern of hazardous or harmful alcohol use, recruited in a Basic Health Unit in the city of São Paulo. A sociodemographic questionnaire and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (Audit) were applied. The experimental group underwent the Brief Group Intervention, which had four group sessions, with weekly meetings. The control group received an information leaflet about issues related to alcohol consumption. Both groups participated in the follow-up of three months. The linear mixed model was used for data analysis, in which a 5% significance level was adopted., Results: Forty-four individuals under hazardous or harmful alcohol use completed all phases of the research. The experimental group had a statistically significant reduction (p < 0.01) of about 10 points in Audit score after the brief group intervention [before BGI = 15.89 (SD = 6.62) - hazardous use; after BGI = 6.40 (SD = 5.05) - low hazardous use] maintaining the low hazardous use in follow-up [6.69 (SD = 6.38) - low hazardous use]. The control group had a statistically significant reduction (p ≤ 0.01) of about three points in Audit score [before BGI = 13.11 (SD = 4.54) - hazardous use; after BGI = 9.83 (SD = 5.54) - hazardous use] and in follow-up presented the mean score of 13.00 (SD = 5.70), indicative of hazardous use. Differences between the two groups (experimental group versus control group) in reduction of consumption were statistically significant (p ≤ 0.01)., Conclusions: Our evidence showed that the brief group intervention performed by the nurse in the primary health care context was effective to reduce alcohol consumption in individuals with patterns of hazardous or harmful use.

Objective: To verify the association between the profile of women who seek specialized treatment for the use of psychoactive substances, their treatment adherence time and the types of substance used., Method: A retrospective cohort with data from medical records of women who sought care at a referral service for the use of psychoactive substances., Results: The final sample consisted of 411 medical records. A significant association was observed between unemployment (p<0.000), living in the streets/homeless shelters (p=0.003), having HIV/AIDS (p=0.004) and the type of substance used. The best predictors for the treatment adherence time were being a cocaine and crack user (OR=0.22), having family members who use illegal substances (OR=0.36) and reporting suicidal ideation (OR=2.7)., Conclusion: The sociodemographic and epidemiological factors of the women in this study are associated with the use of psychoactive substances. The therapeutic strategies developed for this group should take into account the risk stratification, seeking comprehensive and individualized care. Persistent approaches to include family members in the treatment, especially of those who present problems related to the use of psychoactive substances should be considered.

Objective: validate the Scale of attitudes toward alcohol, alcoholism and individuals with alcohol use disorders in its Spanish version., Method: methodological study, involving 300 Colombian nurses. Adopting the classical theory, confirmatory factor analysis was applied without prior examination, based on the strong historical evidence of the factorial structure of the original scale to determine the construct validity of this Spanish version. To assess the reliability, Cronbach's Alpha and Mc Donalid's Omega coefficients were used., Results: the confirmatory factor analysis indicated the good fit of the scale model in a four-factor distribution, with a cut-off point at 3.2, demonstrating 66.7% of sensitivity., Conclusions: the Scale of attitudes toward alcohol, alcoholism and individuals with alcohol use disorders in Spanish presented robust psychometric qualities, affirming that the instrument possesses a solid factorial structure and reliability and is capable of precisely measuring the nurses' atittudes towards the phenomenon proposed.

ABSTACT Objective: to describe the process of translation and cultural adaptation of the scale of attitudes towards alcohol, alcoholism and alcoholics into the Spanish language., Methods: this was a methodological study, which followed the international guidelines for translation and adaptation of measurement scales., Results: During the process of translation and cultural adaptation of scale of attitudes towards alcohol, alcoholism and alcoholics to the Spanish language, the items were adjusted based on semantic, idiomatic and conceptual equivalence of the expressions contained in the scale of attitudes towards alcohol, alcoholism and alcoholics. Content validation indicated satisfactory validity indexes, with Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) (0.97), Content Validity Index (CVI) (0.92), and the Prevalence Adjusted Bias Adjusted Kappa (PABAK) (0.80)., Conclusion: the scale of attitudes towards alcohol, alcoholism and alcoholics, adapted and translated into the Spanish language, presented content validity with satisfactory indexes, which affirmed that the instrument was adapted for the Colombian context. The next step will be evaluation of its psychometric properties in order to guarantee reliability for its use in Hispanic populations.

Objective Describing the stages of translation, cultural adaptation and content validation of the Single-Question into Brazilian Portuguese, which will be named Questão Chave. Method This study is a cultural adaptation. The instrument was translated into Portuguese as two independent versions which led to a synthesis of translations (S1), and later to the synthesis S2, which was then submitted to evaluation by a Committee of Expert Judges in the area of alcohol use and instrument validation. The Content Validity Index and Kappa agreement coefficient were calculated from this evaluation. Results The judges evaluated the Questão Chave regarding the clarity of the sentence and aspects related to the quality of the translation (cultural adaptation, preservation of original meaning and correct use of technical terms). The Content Validity Index was 1 for clarity of sentence and correct use of technical terms, and 0.8 for adaptation and preservation of the original meaning. The Kappa index for concordance among the judges was 0.83. After an adjustment proposed by the judges, the S3 version was originated. Conclusion The Questão Chave had its content validity confirmed, which supports future studies that aim for its application in the target population to verify their psychometric properties.

Objective: to verify the psychometric properties of the Attitudes Scale facing Alcohol and Alcoholism (EAFAA) and people with disorders related to the use of alcohol in nursing students., Method: a convenience sample (n=420) completed the EAFAA, the data were submitted to Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA)., Results: the EFA resulted in an instrument composed of 48 items divided into four factors. The CFA has established the validity of the factorial structure. The internal consistency of the scale was considered adequate (α=0.85) presenting a sensitivity of 70% and specificity of 75%., Conclusion: the EAFAA constitutes a reliable instrument to identify the attitudes of nursing students towards alcohol, alcoholism and persons with disorders related to alcohol use.

This exploratory study with a qualitative approach aimed to identify nurses' insertion and practices at Psychosocial Care Centers for alcohol and drugs in São Paulo City, Brazil. Sixteen nurses participated in the study. Data were recorded and were analyzed by dialectic hermeneutics and guided by Brazilian psychiatric reform premises. The results evidenced nurses' difficulties to take part in the care recommended at these services, as their practices are more linked up with the traditional mental health care model. Causes of this phenomenon include nurses' lack of preparation to act in psychoactive substance-related issues and lack of knowledge on specific contents that would favor their insertion into care practice in these scenarios. It is concluded that more attention should be paid to these contents in nursing education, as the legal requirement of nursing presence at these services is insufficient as a strategy to guarantee their actual insertion.

This cross-sectional study aimed to estimate the prevalence of alcohol addiction as detected by primary healthcare services, analyzing its association with clinical, socio-demographic, and behavioral characteristics. The sample included 755 individuals who attended primary healthcare services in the city of Bebedouro, São Paulo State, Brazil, from August 30 to September 30, 2006. Alcohol addiction was investigated using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). According to the findings, 9.8% of the sample showed scores suggestive of alcohol addiction (zone IV) on the AUDIT. This group consisted predominantly of male individuals 20 to 39 years of age, white, married, and Catholic. A significant association remained with male gender, smoking, single marital status, lower income, and higher schooling. The strongest predictors of this association were male gender (OR = 5.18), smoking (OR = 7.01), and university schooling (OR = 2.11). Alcohol addiction affects a significant proportion of users of primary healthcare services. In general, male smokers with more schooling and who report some clinical diagnosis were more likely to show an AUDIT score suggestive of alcohol addiction.

The objective of this study was the construction and validation of a scale that would measure the attitudes towards alcohol, alcoholism and the alcoholic, called the Scale of Attitudes Towards Alcohol, Alcoholism and the Alcoholic. The face and content validations, as well as the factor analysis of the data obtained in a preliminary test with 144 nursing students resulted in a scale consisting of 96 items, divided into 5 factors: Attitudes towards the alcoholic person: care and interpersonal relations; Etiology; Disease; Repercussions deriving from alcohol use/abuse; Alcoholic beverages. The general scale presented a consistency level of 0.90. The resulting instrument is concluded to be a reliable tool to evaluate attitudes towards alcohol, alcoholism and alcohol addicts.

This qualitative study aimed to learn the conceptions and attitude tendencies of nurses from public district basic health units towards alcohol, alcoholism and alcohol addicts. The sample consisted of ten nurses from three institutions in a city located in São Paulo. Data were recorded and submitted to content thematic analysis. Subjects evidenced that these nurses are permissive towards moderate alcohol use, but reject alcoholism, conceiving it as a potentially fatal disease, and tend to associate it to personal will, indicating the influence of the moral concept on their conceptions and attitudes. The participating nurses' knowledge about the topics alcohol and alcoholism was also evidenced. Based on the results, the authors suggest training this group and preparing these professionals for the care, recognition and prevention of disorders related to alcohol use/abuse at these health centers.
