CF 2 -containing compounds hold significant potential in drug discovery, organic synthesis, and materials science. However, synthesizing various CF 2 -containing building blocks from a single compound remains challenging. Here, we present a Cu-catalyzed, switchable defluoroborylation and hydrodefluorination of trifluoromethylated alkynes, yielding four types of CF 2 -containing compounds. The chemo- and regio-selective sp 2 /sp 3 1,2-diborylation and sp 2 monoborylation of 1-(trifluoromethyl)alkynes are controlled by adjusting the solvent and ligand quantity. Additionally, altering the base allows selective generation of gem-difluoroalkenes or difluoromethylalkenes. Notably, our method prevents over-defluorination of the CF 3 group on unsaturated C-C bonds during nucleophilic additions, preserving the pharmaceutically valuable CF 2 group. An effective and straightforward Ag(I)-mediated annulation of 2-(2-enynyl)quinolines and N' -(2-alkynylbenzylidene)hydrazides was developed, forging various synthetically challenging 17 bH -isoquinolino[2'',1'':1',6']pyridazino[4',5':3,4]pyrrolo[1,2- a ]quinolines, including different nitrogen-containing fused rings, in moderate to excellent yields. This one-pot cycloaddition strategy features exclusive regioselectivity, high atom economy, and broad substrate scope under mild conditions. The practicality and reliability of this cycloaddition reaction was demonstrated by a successful scale-up synthesis.

Background and Objectives: Collateral status is a pivotal determinant of clinical outcomes in acute ischemic stroke (AIS); however, its evaluation can be challenging. We investigated the predictive value of CT perfusion (CTP) derived time and density alterations versus CTP for collateral status prediction in AIS., Methods: Consecutive patients with anterior circulation occlusion within 24 h were retrospectively included. Time-density curves of the CTP specified ischemic core, penumbra, and the corresponding contralateral unaffected brain were obtained. The collateral status was dichotomised into robust (4-5 scores) and poor (0-3 scores) using multiphase collateral scoring, as described by Menon et al.. Receiver operating characteristic curves and multivariable regression analysis were performed to assess the predictive ability of CTP-designated tissue time and density alterations, CTP for robust collaterals, and favourable outcomes (mRS score of 0-2 at 90 days)., Results: One-hundred patients (median age, 68 years; interquartile range, 57-80 years; 61 men) were included. A smaller ischemic core, shorter peak time delay, lower peak density decrease, lower cerebral blood volume ratio, and cerebral blood flow ratio in the CTP specified ischemic core were significantly associated with robust collaterals (P FDR  ≤ 0.004). The peak time delay demonstrated the highest diagnostic value (AUC, 0.74; P < 0.001) with 66.7 % sensitivity and 73.7 % specificity. Furthermore, the peak time delay of less than 8.5 s was an independent predictor of robust collaterals and favourable clinical outcomes., Conclusions: Robust collateral status was significantly associated with the peak time delay in the ischemic core. High-performance fluorescent probes stand as indispensable tools in fluorescence-guided imaging, and are crucial for precise delineation of focal tissue while minimizing unnecessary removal of healthy tissue. Herein, machine-learning-assisted strategy to investigate the current available xanthene dyes is first proposed, and a quantitative prediction model to guide the rational synthesis of novel fluorescent molecules with the desired pH responsivity is constructed. Two novel Si─rhodamine derivatives are successfully achieved and the cathepsin/pH sequentially activated probe Si─rhodamine─cathepsin-pH (SiR─CTS-pH) is constructed. The results reveal that SiR─CTS-pH exhibits higher signal-to-noise ratio of fluorescence imaging, compared to single pH or cathepsin-activated probe. Moreover, SiR─CTS-pH shows strong differentiation abilities for tumor cells and tissues and accurately discriminates the complex hepatocellular carcinoma tissues from normal ones, indicating its significant application potential in clinical practice. Increasing grain yield is a major goal of breeders due to the rising global demand for food. We previously reported that the miR397-LACCASE (OsLAC) module regulates brassinosteroid (BR) signaling and grain yield in rice (Oryza sativa). However, the precise roles of laccase enzymes in the BR pathway remain unclear. Here, we report that OsLAC controls grain yield by preventing the turnover of TRANSTHYRETIN-LIKE (OsTTL), a negative regulator of BR signaling. Overexpressing OsTTL decreased BR sensitivity in rice, while loss-of-function of OsTTL led to enhanced BR signaling and increased grain yield. OsLAC directly binds to OsTTL and regulates its phosphorylation-mediated turnover. The phosphorylation site Ser226 of OsTTL is essential for its ubiquitination and degradation. Overexpressing the dephosphorylation-mimic form of OsTTL (OsTTLS226A) resulted in more severe defects than did overexpressing OsTTL. Background: Prior reviews investigating the impact of pregnancy on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) have reached different conclusions and a meta-analysis of curve progression among pregnant females with AIS and its effects on clinical outcomes has not previously been performed., Methods: A comprehensive search of major bibliographic databases (PubMed, Embase, and Scopus) was conducted for articles pertaining to spinal curve progression during pregnancy among patients with AIS. Patient demographics, scoliotic curve outcomes, and patient-reported quality of life measures were extracted., Results: Ten studies, including 857 patients with a mean age of 28.7 years, were included. Before pregnancy, 42.1% had undergone spinal fusion and 59.0% had a thoracic curve. Based on prepregnancy and postpregnancy radiographs, the curve increased from 33.9°-38.5°, and meta-analysis revealed a curve progression of 3.6° (range = -5.85 to 1.25, P = 0.003), primarily arising from loss of correction in the unfused group (Unfused = -5.0, P = 0.040; Fused = -3.0, P = 0.070). At the same time, 45.9% patients reported increased low back pain and many reported a negative body self-image and limitations in sexual function. However, 5 studies noted that pregnancy and number of pregnancies were not associated with curve progression, and multiple studies identified similar quality of life-related changes in non-pregnant patients with AIS., Conclusions: Among unfused pregnant females with AIS, the spinal curvature increased significantly by 5.0° from before to after pregnancy. However, these changes may be independent of pregnancy status and occur with time. Hydrogen production from seawater remains challenging due to the deactivation of the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrode under high current density. To overcome the activity-stability trade-offs in transition-metal sulfides, we propose a strategy to engineer sulfur migration by constructing a nickel-cobalt sulfides heterostructure with nitrogen-doped carbon shell encapsulation (CN@NiCoS) electrocatalyst. State-of-the-art ex situ/in situ characterizations and density functional theory calculations reveal the restructuring of the CN@NiCoS interface, clearly identifying dynamic sulfur migration. The NiCoS heterostructure stimulates sulfur migration by creating sulfur vacancies at the Ni 3 S 2 -Co 9 S 8 heterointerface, while the migrated sulfur atoms are subsequently captured by the CN shell via strong C-S bond, preventing sulfide dissolution into alkaline electrolyte. Remarkably, the dynamically formed sulfur-doped CN shell and sulfur vacancies pairing sites significantly enhances HER activity by altering the d-band center near Fermi level, resulting in a low overpotential of 4.6 and 8 mV at 10 mA cm -2 in alkaline freshwater and seawater media, and long-term stability up to 1000 h. Herein, we describe an innovative approach to the asymmetric electrochemical α-alkylation of aldehydes facilitated by a newly designed bifunctional chiral electrocatalyst. The highly efficient bifunctional chiral electrocatalyst combines a chiral aminocatalyst with a redox mediator. It plays a dual role as a redox mediator for electrooxidation, while simultaneously providing remarkable asymmetric induction for the stereoselective α-alkylation of aldehydes. Additionally, this novel catalyst exhibits enhanced catalytic activity and excellent stereoselective control comparable to conventional catalytic systems. As a result, this strategy provides a new avenue for versatile asymmetric electrochemistry. The electrooxidation of diverse phenols enables the C-H/C-H oxidative α-alkylation of aldehydes in a highly chemo- and stereoselective fashion. Temperature is a crucial factor influencing the accuracy of the hydrostatic leveling system (HLS), necessitating a temperature compensation test for HLS. This paper investigates HLS temperature compensation through theoretical correction and experimental verification. The influence of temperature on the accuracy of hydrostatic level products is determined through temperature tests on 34 hydrostatic level products. The optimal temperature compensation formula is derived using the non-linear curve fitting method. The HLS is enhanced with a temperature compensation algorithm and temperature sensor, resulting in a new, high-precision, and high-stability hydrostatic leveling product with temperature compensation. Due to the limited maximum output power of the pulsers based on avalanche transistors, high-power ultrawideband (UWB) radiation systems usually synthesize plenty of modules simultaneously to achieve a high peak effective potential (rEp). However, this would lead to an increased aperture size as well as a narrower beam, which would limit their applications in intentional electromagnetic interference fields. In this paper, a high-power UWB radiation system with beam broadening capacity is developed. To achieve beam broadening in the time domain, a power-law time delay distribution method is proposed and studied by simulation, and then the relative excitation time delays of the modules are optimized to achieve higher rEp and avoid beam splitting in the beam broadening mode. In order to avoid false triggering of the pulser elements when implementing the beam broadening, the mutual coupling effect in the system is analyzed and suppressed by employing onboard high-pass filters, since the mutual coupling effect is much more severe in the low-frequency range. Finally, a radiation system with 36 modules is developed. Measuring results indicate that in the high-rEp mode, the developed system could achieve a maximum effective potential rEp of 313.6 kV and a maximum pulse-repetition-rate of 20 kHz. In the beam broadening mode, its half-peak-power beam width in the H-plane is broadened from the original value of 3.9° to 7.9°, with a maximum rEp of 272.9 kV. T cells play an important role in adaptive immunity. Mature T cells specifically recognize antigens on major histocompatibility complex molecules through T-cell receptors (TCRs). As the TCR repertoire is highly diverse, its analysis is vital in the assessment of T cells. Advances in sequencing technology have provided convenient methods for further investigation of the TCR repertoire. In the present review, the TCR structure and the mechanisms by which TCRs function in tumor recognition are described. In addition, the potential value of the TCR repertoire in tumor diagnosis is reviewed. Furthermore, the role of the TCR repertoire in tumor immunotherapy is introduced, and the relationships between the TCR repertoire and the effects of different tumor immunotherapies are discussed. Based on the reviewed literature, it may be concluded that the TCR repertoire has the potential to serve as a biomarker for tumor prognosis. Background: The intricate relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and diabetic nephropathy (DN) presents a challenge in understanding the significance of various biomarkers in diagnosis., Aim: To elucidate the roles and diagnostic values of α2-macroglobulin (α2-MG), podocalyxin (PCX), α-L-fucosidase (AFU), retinol-binding protein-4 (RBP-4), and cystatin C (CysC) in DN., Methods: From December 2018 to December 2020, 203 T2DM patients were enrolled in the study. Of these, 115 were diagnosed with DN (115 patients), while the remaining 88 patients were classified as non-DN. The urinary levels of α2-MG, PCX, and AFU and the serum concentrations RBP-4 and CysC were measured in conjunction with other relevant clinical indicators to evaluate their potential correlations and diagnostic utility., Results: After adjustments for age and gender, significant positive correlations were observed between the biomarkers CysC, RBP-4, α2-MG/urinary creatinine (UCr), PCX/UCr, and AFU/UCr, and clinical indicators such as urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR), serum creatinine, urea, 24-h total urine protein, and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR). Conversely, these biomarkers exhibited negative correlations with the estimated glomerular filtration rate ( P < 0.05). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis further demonstrated the diagnostic performance of these biomarkers, with UACR showcasing the highest area under the ROC curve (AUC ROC ) at 0.97., Conclusion: This study underscores the diagnostic significance of α2-MG, PCX, and AFU in the development of DN. Herein, we constructed a novel aminofluorene-based fluorescence probe (FEN-CE) for the detection of carboxylesterase (CE) in living cells by a ratiometric near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence signal. FEN-CE with NIR emission (650 nm) could be hydrolyzed specifically by CE and transformed to FENH with the release of the self-immolative group, which exhibited a red-shifted emission peak of 680 nm. In addition, FEN-CE showed high selectivity for CE and was successfully used in the detection of CE activity in living cells through its ratiometric NIR fluorescence signals.

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare chronic autoimmune disease caused by the production of autoantibodies against the postsynaptic membrane receptors present at the neuromuscular junction. This condition is characterized by fatigue and muscle weakness, including diplopia, ptosis, and systemic impairment. Emerging evidence suggests that in addition to immune dysregulation, the pathogenesis of MG may involve mitochondrial damage and ferroptosis. Mitochondria are the primary site of energy production, and the reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated due to mitochondrial dysfunction can induce ferroptosis. Nanomedicines have been extensively employed to treat various disorders due to their modifiability and good biocompatibility, but their application in MG management has been rather limited. Nevertheless, nanodrug delivery systems that carry immunomodulatory agents, anti-oxidants, or ferroptosis inhibitors could be effective for the treatment of MG. Therefore, this review focuses on various nanoplatforms aimed at attenuating immune dysregulation, restoring mitochondrial function, and inhibiting ferroptosis that could potentially serve as promising agents for targeted MG therapy.

Objectives: To observe the effects of moxibustion on blood lipid metabolism, pathological morphology of thoracic aorta, and the expression of silent information regulator 1 (SIRT1) and forkhead box transcription factor O3a (FOXO3a) in ApoE -/- atherosclerosis (AS) mice, so as to explore the potential mechanism of moxibustion in preventing and treating AS., Methods: Ten C57BL/6J mice were fed a normal diet as the control group, and 30 ApoE -/- mice were fed a high-fat diet to establish the AS model, which were randomly divided into the model group, simvastatin group, and moxibustion group, with 10 mice in each group. From the first day of modeling, mice in the moxibustion group received mild moxibustion treatment at "Shenque"(CV8), "Yinlingquan"(SP9), bilateral "Neiguan"(PC6) and "Xuehai"(SP10) for 30 min per time；the mice in the simvastatin group were given simvastatin orally (2.5 mg·kg -1 ·d -1 ), with both treatments given once daily, 5 times a week, with a total intervention period of 12 weeks. The body weight and general condition of the mice were observed and recorded during the intervention period. After the intervention, the contents of serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured using an automated biochemistry analyzer. Hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the pathological morphology of the thoracic aorta. ELISA was used to measure the contents of serum oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. Western blot and real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR analysis were used to detect the expression levels of SIRT1 and FOXO3a protein and mRNA in the thoracic aorta., Results: Compared with the control group, body weight at the 8 th and 12 th week, serum TC, TG, LDL-C, and ox-LDL contents of the model group mice were significantly increased( P <0.05, P <0.01), while the HDL-C contents, SOD activity, and the expression levels of SIRT1 protein and mRNA in the thoracic aorta were significantly decreased( P <0.05, P <0.01). HE staining showed thickening of the aortic intima, endothelial cell degeneration, swelling, and shedding. Compared with the model group, body weight at the 8 th and 12 th week, serum TC, TG, LDL-C, and ox-LDL contents of mice in the simvastatin group and moxibustion group were significantly decreased( P <0.01), while the serum SOD activity, expression levels of SIRT1 protein and mRNA in the thoracic aorta were significantly increased( P <0.01). The HDL-C contents were significantly increased in the simvastatin group( P <0.05). The thoracic aortic structure was more intact in both groups, with a more regular lumen and orderly arrangement of the elastic membrane in the media, and a slight amount of endothelial cell degeneration and swelling in the intima. There was no significant difference in the evaluated indexes between the moxibustion group and the simvastatin group and the pathological changes in the thoracic aorta were similar between the two groups., Conclusions: Moxibustion can reduce the body weight of AS model mice, regulate lipid levels, repair vascular intima, and alleviate endothelial damage. Its mechanism of action may be related to the regulation of the SIRT1/FOXO3a signaling pathway to improve oxidative damage.

The precise timing of flowering plays a pivotal role in ensuring successful plant reproduction and seed production. This process is intricately governed by complex genetic networks that integrate internal and external signals. This study delved into the regulatory function of microRNA397 (miR397) and its target gene LACCASE-15 (OsLAC15) in modulating flowering traits in rice (Oryza sativa). Overexpression of miR397 led to earlier heading dates, decreased number of leaves on the main stem, and accelerated differentiation of the spikelet meristem. Conversely, overexpression of OsLAC15 resulted in delayed flowering and prolonged vegetative growth. Through biochemical and physiological assays, we uncovered that miR397-OsLAC15 had a profound impact on carbohydrate accumulation and photosynthetic assimilation, consequently enhancing the photosynthetic intensity in miR397-overexpressing rice plants. Notably, we identified that OsLAC15 is at least partially localized within the peroxisome organelle, where it regulates the photorespiration pathway. Moreover, we observed that a high CO2 concentration could rescue the late flowering phenotype in OsLAC15-overexpressing plants. Natural resource usage has produced various environmental challenges. Green process innovation has been considered a viable option that can help both industry and society. This study investigates the impact of green process innovation and green product innovation on corporate financial performance. We based our findings on a sample of 280 listed non-financial firms operating in South Asia. Information was gathered from firms' annual and CSR reports from 2012 to 2022. This study's data was analyzed using a two-step dynamic panel system GMM, correlation analysis, multicollinearity diagnostic tests, and descriptive statistics. Corporate financial performance is measured with ROA, ROE and Tobin's Q. Overall findings of the study show that green innovation has a significant positive impact on all measures of financial performance. Investing in the innovation of green products and green process can assist businesses in avoiding environmental concerns and regulatory penalties, while also assisting them in establishing new market prospects and achieving new levels of success with their green products. In addition, developing products that are friendly to the environment is tightly connected to expanding green competencies, promoting a company's green image, and improving the company's financial performance. Background: Low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (LAMN) are very rare, accounting for approximately 0.2%-0.5% of gastrointestinal tumors. We conducted a multicenter retrospective study to explore the impact of different surgical procedures combined with HIPEC on the short-term outcomes and long-term survival of patients., Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinicopathological data of 91 LAMN perforation patients from 9 teaching hospitals over a 10-year period, and divided them into HIPEC group and non-HIPEC group based on whether or not underwent HIPEC., Results: Of the 91 patients with LAMN, 52 were in the HIPEC group and 39 in the non-HIPEC group. The Kaplan-Meier method predicted that 52 patients in the HIPEC group had 5- and 10-year overall survival rates of 82.7% and 76.9%, respectively, compared with predicted survival rates of 51.3% and 46.2% for the 39 patients in the non-HIPEC group, with a statistically significant difference between the two groups (χ 2  = 10.622, p = 0.001; χ 2  = 10.995, p = 0.001). Compared to the 5-year and 10-year relapse-free survival rates of 75.0% and 65.4% in the HIPEC group, respectively, the 5-year and 10-year relapse-free survival rates of 48.7% and 46.2% in the non-HIPEC group were significant different between the two outcomes (χ 2  = 8.063, p = 0.005; χ 2  = 6.775, p = 0.009). The incidence of postoperative electrolyte disturbances and hypoalbuminemia was significantly higher in the HIPEC group than in the non-HIPEC group (p = 0.023; p = 0.044)., Conclusions: This study shows that surgery combined with HIPEC can significantly improve 5-year and 10-year overall survival rates and relapse-free survival rates of LAMN perforation patients, without affecting their short-term clinical outcomes., (© 2023 International Society of Surgery/Société Internationale de Chirurgie (ISS/SIC).)

Enriching the palette of high-performance fluorescent dyes is vital to support the frontier of biomedical imaging. Although various rhodamine skeletons remain the premier type of small-molecule fluorophores due to the apparent high brightness and flexible modifiability, they still suffer from the inherent defect of small Stokes shift due to the nonideal fluorescence imaging signal-to-background ratio. Especially, the rising class of fluorescent dyes, sulfone-substituted xanthone, exhibits great potential, but low chemical stability is also pointed out as the problem. Molecular engineering of sulfone-xanthone to obtain a large Stokes shift and high stability is highly desired, but it is still scarce. Herein, we present the combination modification method for optimizing the performance of sulfone-xanthone. These redesigned fluorescent skeletons owned greatly improved stability and Stokes shift compared with the parent sulfone-rhodamine. To the proof of bioimaging capacity, annexin protein-targeted peptide LS301 was introduced to the most promising dyes, J-S-ARh, to form the tumor-targeted fluorescent probe, J-S-LS301. The resulting probe, J-S-LS301, can be an outstanding fluorescence tool for the orthotopic transplantation tumor model of hepatocellular carcinoma imaging and on-site pathological analysis. In summary, the combination method could serve as a basis for rational optimization of sulfone-xanthone. In this paper, a kind of tightly coupled array (TCA) with time-domain beam scan is developed for the radiation of high-power ultrawideband (UWB) electromagnetic pulses, and the peak-power pattern is proposed to characterize the directivity. First, the active voltage standing wave ratio (AVSWR) bandwidth of the TCA is optimized, which is the precondition for the beam scan. It indicates that the lower-cutoff frequency (LCF) is inversely proportional to the total length of the whole array; an increase in the distance between the array and the ground plane could remarkably reduce the LCF; and an increase in the element number can also decrease the LCF because of the increase in length, but more elements would make the center elements difficult to match in the low-frequency range, so there is a limitation on the number of elements for a certain LCF. Based on these results, a six-element linear array is designed. Then, the definition of the peak-power pattern is proposed to characterize the directivity of the UWB pulsed antenna. Finally, the optimized six-element array is developed, and the measured working band is 276 MHz-6.4 GHz (AVSWR < 3). The effective potential gain is 1.76, and it improves by 51.7% with a reduction in the aperture area by 68.4% compared with the previous TCA, which means that the aperture efficiency is remarkably improved. The half-power beam width of the developed TCA with the scan angle of 0° is 45°. The time-domain beam scan could be performed with time-delay feeding lines, and the maximum scan angle is over ±30° in the E-plane. Two-dimensional material-based field-effect transistors (2DM-FETs) are playing a revolutionary role in electronic devices. However, before electronic design automation (EDA) for 2DM-FETs can be achieved, it remains necessary to determine how to incorporate contact transports into model. Reported methods compromise between physical intelligibility and model compactness due to the heterojunction nature. To address this, quasi-Fermi-level phase space theory (QFLPS) is generalized to incorporate contact transports using the Landauer formula. It turns out that the Landauer-QFLPS model effectively overcomes the issue of concern. The proposed new formula can describe 2DM-FETs with Schottky or Ohmic contacts with superior accuracy and efficiency over previous methods, especially when describing non-monotonic drain conductance characteristics. A three-bit threshold inverter quantizer (TIQ) circuit is fabricated using ambipolar black phosphorus and it is demonstrated that the model accurately predicts circuit performance. This paper presents a mechanical analysis of the foundation of a temporary offshore platform using a temporary embedded eight-leg support structure. The model is simulated using the finite element simulation software MIDAS-3D, with the modified RANS equation and Forchheimer saturated resistance model used to control the fluid. The stress analysis principle of the structure is simplified by the pile group theory. The stability of the eight-legged supporting structure is investigated under different embedding depths, pile diameters, wave periods, and amplitudes of the main piles. The results show that the eight-legged supporting structure can intercept and divert water flow, eliminating the impact of the water flow on the main piles during large waves. Additionally, as the diameter of the structure increases under the same wave conditions, the influence of the base volume and surface curvature gradually increases, deteriorating the stress environment of the main pile and decreasing the supporting effect of the eight-legged support structure. Noncoding RNAs constitute a substantial portion of the transcriptome and play pivotal roles in plant growth and development. Among these processes, flowering stands out as a crucial trait, ensuring reproductive success and seed set, and is meticulously controlled by genetic and environmental factors. With remarkable advancements in the identification and characterization of noncoding RNAs in plants, it has become evident that noncoding RNAs are intricately linked to the regulation of flowering time. In this article, we present an overview of the classification of plant noncoding RNAs and delve into their functions in the regulation of flowering time. Furthermore, we review their molecular mechanisms and their involvement in flowering pathways. Our comprehensive review enhances the understanding of how noncoding RNAs contribute to the regulation of flowering time and sheds light on their potential implications in crop breeding.

Aim: To explore the material basis of action of the Shuang Bai Su Qing recipe in the treatment of periodontitis using network pharmacology., Methods: Using TCMSP, we screened the chemical components of 5 drugs. The components were input into the UniProt and PubChem databases to obtain target proteins; Genecards, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM), and CEO databases were used to screen target proteins for periodontal disease. The targets were imported into the Cytoscape software to obtain intersecting targets, and conduct visual analysis to build the PPI network. The intersecting targets were then input into the Matescape database and subjected to biological process (BP) analysis, molecular function (MF) analysis, cell component (CC) analysis, and KEGG enrichment analysis., Results: Twenty-seven TCM chemical components were obtained, with 198 target proteins associated with drugs and 2587 target proteins for periodontitis. Ten core targets were identified. Gene Ontology (GO) functional enrichment analysis yielded results for 20 BP, 11 MF, and 10 CC. KEGG analysis revealed that the main mechanisms of action were related to MAPK signaling pathway. Background and Purpose: The efficacy and safety of endovascular treatment (EVT) in acute basilar artery occlusion (ABAO) has been confirmed by four randomized clinical trials. Nevertheless, the predictors of a 90-day favorable outcome after EVT have not been elucidated. We attempted to establish a nomogram for the prediction of a 90-day favorable outcome in ABAO patients with EVT., Methods: Clinical data of ABAO patients with EVT were obtained from two nationwide clinical trial registries in China. Factors associated with a 90-day favorable outcome were screened by multivariable step-wise regression on the basis of univariable analysis. A nomogram was established to predict 90-day favorable outcome after EVT., Results: The proportion of ABAO patients with a favorable outcome was 41.53% (157/378). Primula filchnerae , an endangered plant endemic to China, has drawn people's attention in recent years due to its ornamental value in flower. It was rarely recorded since being described in 1902, but it was rediscovered in 2009 and is now known from a limited number of sites located in Hubei and Shaanxi Provinces. Since the species is still poorly known, a number of unanswered questions arise related to it: How has P. filchnerae responded to past climate change and how might it respond in the future? Why was P. filchmerae so rarely collected during the past century? We assembled geographic coordinates for P. filchnerae through the field surveys and website searches, and then used a maximum entropy model (MaxEnt) to simulate its potential suitable distribution in six periods with varied carbon emission levels by combining bioclimatic and environmental factors. MaxEnt showed that Min Temperature of the Coldest Month (bio6) and Precipitation of the Coldest Quarter (bio19) affected P. filchnerae 's distribution most, with an aggregate contribution >60% and suitable ranges above -5 °C and below 40 mm, respectively. We also analyzed potential habitat distribution in various periods with differing impacts of climate change compared to today's suitable habitats, and in most cases, Shaanxi and Sichuan remained the most stable areas and with possible expansion to the north under various carbon emission scenarios, but the 2050s SSP5-8.5 scenario may be an exception. Moreover, we used MaxEnt to evaluate population shifts, with various scenarios indicating that geometric center would be concentrated in Sichuan Province in China. Finally, conservation strategies are suggested, including the creation of protected areas, long-term monitoring, raising public awareness of plant conservation, situ conservation measures, assisted migration, and species introduction. This study demonstrates how P. filchnerae may have adapted to changes in different periods and provides a scientific basis for germplasm conservation and management.

Current heterogeneous Si photonics usually bond III-V wafers/dies on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate in a back-end process, whereas monolithic integration by direct epitaxy could benefit from a front-end process where III-V materials are grown prior to the fabrication of passive optical circuits. Here we demonstrate a front-end-of-line (FEOL) processing and epitaxy approach on Si photonics 220 nm (001) SOI wafers to enable positioning dislocation-free GaAs layers in lithographically defined cavities right on top of the buried oxide layer. Thanks to the defect confinement in lateral growth, threading dislocations generated from the III-V/Si interface are effectively trapped within ∼250 nm of the Si surface. This demonstrates the potential of in-plane co-integration of III-Vs with Si on mainstream 220 nm SOI platform without relying on thick, defective buffer layers. In seawater, severe hydroxide-based precipitation on the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrode surface is still a major stumbling block for direct seawater electrolysis. Here, we design a direct seawater HER electrode with excellent anti-precipitation performance based on an Ni(OH) 2 nanofiltration membrane in situ grown on nickel foam (NF) at room temperature. The positively charged Ni(OH) 2 membrane with nanometer-scale cracks realises an ion sieving function, which apparently hinders the transfer of Mg 2+ /Ca 2+ ions to suppress precipitation, while rapidly transporting OH - and H 2 O to ensure HER mass transfer. Therefore, the Ni(OH) 2 -membrane-decorated seawater HER electrode reduces precipitation by about 98.3% and exhibits high activity and stability. Moreover, in the application of a direct seawater electrolyser and magnesium seawater battery, the Ni(OH) 2 membrane-decorated electrode also shows low precipitation and high stability. Pulsed x-rays are crucial for various applications such as radiography, biological effects, and the system-generated electromagnetic pulse effect. X rays with a higher dose rate and a higher total dose can generate more significant radiation effects and more effective radiography. However, most pulsed sub-100 keV x-ray systems with high dose rates operate in the single pulse mode with limited total dose, and most repetitive pulsed x-ray systems have a low dose rate. This paper develops a compact high-current repetitive pulsed x-ray system with a low-impedance diode to generate high dose rate pulsed x-rays with an average energy below 100 keV. A diode with a double-ring cathode is designed and tested to produce uniform pulsed x-rays. In order to investigate the x-ray intensity and the pulse number of repetitions for different anode thicknesses, five typical thicknesses are tested. The experimental results show that this system can operate stably at a repetitive rate of 0.2 Hz with a peak voltage of about 200 kV and a peak current of about 100 kA. The dose rate is about 2.4 × 105 Gy(LiF)/s, and the average x-ray energy is about 55 keV with the 40 µm thick tantalum anode. Background: Anlotinib has demonstrated encouraging clinical outcomes in the treatment of lung cancer, soft tissue sarcoma and thyroid carcinoma. Several clinical studies have shown a relationship between anlotinib treatment and the occurrence of hyperlipidemia. The fundamental mechanisms, however, are still largely unclear. Here, the effect of anlotinib on lipid metabolism in an animal model and human cancer cells was evaluated and the role of lipid metabolism in the antitumor efficacy of anlotinib was investigated., Methods: The C57BL/6 J mouse model as well as A549 and H460 human lung cancer cell lines were used to examine the impact of anlotinib on lipid metabolism both in vivo and in vitro. Levels of triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and total cholesterol in serum or cell samples were determined using assay kits. The expression levels of crucial genes and proteins involved in lipid metabolism were measured by quantitative RT-PCR and Western blotting. Furthermore, exogenous LDL and knockdown of low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) were used in H460 cells to investigate the relevance of lipid metabolism in the anticancer efficacy of anlotinib., Results: Anlotinib caused hyperlipidemia in C57BL/6 J mice, possibly by downregulating hepatic LDLR-mediated uptake of LDL cholesterol. AMP-activated protein kinase and mammalian target of rapamycin inhibition may also be involved. Additionally, anlotinib enhanced sterol response element binding protein 1/2 nuclear accumulation as well as upregulated LDLR expression in A549 and H460 cells, which may be attributable to intracellular lipid accumulation. Knockdown of LDLR reduced intracellular cholesterol content, but interestingly, anlotinib significantly improved intracellular cholesterol accumulation in LDLR-knockdown cells. Both exogenous LDL and LDLR knockdown decreased the sensitivity of cells to anlotinib., Conclusions: Anlotinib modulates host lipid metabolism through multiple pathways. Anlotinib also exerts a significant impact on lipid metabolism in cancer cells by regulating key transcription factors and metabolic enzymes. For intensive aquaculture in freshwater ponds, microcystin (MC-LR) generated from cyanobacterial blooms is one of the bottlenecks for the healthy and sustainable development of shrimp aquaculture industry. In this study, we measured the MC-LR content in the hepatopancreas and muscles of Litopenaeus vannamei stressed by MC-LR, and analyzed protein expression in the hepatopancreas using DIA high-throughput proteomics technology. The results showed that MC-LR content in the hepatopancreas and muscles reached the highest at 1 h after MC-LR injection, which was (6.12±0.45) μg·kg -1 and (5.00±0.19) μg·kg -1 , respectively. Then, it decreased gra-dually, with that in the hepatopancreas being significantly higher than in muscles. We identified 820 differential expressed proteins, including 586 up-regulated and 234 down-regulated ones. Results of bioinformatics analysis showed that MC-LR stress significantly affected immune-related pathways such as lysosome, RIG-Ⅰ receptor signals and interleukin-2. It also altered energy metabolisms including citrate cycle, metabolism of starch and sucrose, and interconversion of pentose and glucoronate, which in turn led to the disorder of carbohydrate metabolism. In addition, MC-LR significantly upregulated 19 cytoskeleton-related blood shadow proteins and damaged the hepatopancreas cytoskeleton. It was concluded that MC-LR mainly affected the physiological processes associated with immunity, energy metabolism, and cytoskeleton in the hepatopancreas of L. vannamei .

Background: For cases of middle and low biliary obstruction with left and right hepatic duct dilatation, the type of approach and whether different approaches affect the difficulty of puncture operation and intraoperative and postoperative complications have not been discussed in detail., Aim: To compare the efficacy of different percutaneous transhepatic biliary stent placements and catheter drainage in treating middle and low biliary obstruction., Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the medical records of 424 patients with middle and low biliary obstruction who underwent percutaneous liver puncture biliary stent placement and catheter drainage at the Department of Interventional Radiology, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital between March 2016 and March 2022. Based on the puncture path, patients were categorized into two groups: Subxiphoid left hepatic lobe approach group (Group A, 224 cases) and right intercostal, right hepatic lobe approach group (Group B, 200 cases). Liver function improvement, postoperative biliary bleeding incidence, postoperative pain duration, and abdominal effusion leakage around the drainage tube were compared between the two groups at 3 d and 1 wk after the surgery. Patient survival time was recorded during follow-up., Results: All 424 surgeries were successful without adverse events. Group A comprised 224 cases, and Group B had 200 cases. There was no statistically significant difference in basic data between Group A and Group B ( P > 0.05). No significant difference in postoperative biliary bleeding incidence was observed between the groups ( P > 0.05). The decreased rates for total bilirubin (Group A: 69.23 ± 4.50, Group B: 63.79 ± 5.65), direct bilirubin (Group A: 79.30 ± 11.19, Group B: 63.62 ± 5.64), and alkaline phosphatase (Group A: 60.51 ± 12.23, Group B: 42.68 ± 23.56) in the 1 st wk after surgery were significantly faster in Group A than in Group B. The decreased rate of gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase was also significantly faster in Group A at both 3 d (Group A: 40.56 ± 10.32, Group B: 32.22 ± 5.12) and 1 wk (Group A: 73.19 ± 7.05, Group B: 58.81 ± 18.98) after surgery ( P < 0.05). Group A experienced significantly less peritoneal effusion leakage around the drainage tube than Group B ( P < 0.05). Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nano-sized, natural, cell-derived vesicles that contain the same nucleic acids, proteins, and lipids as their source cells. Thus, they can serve as natural carriers for therapeutic agents and drugs, and have many advantages over conventional nanocarriers, including their low immunogenicity, good biocompatibility, natural blood-brain barrier penetration, and capacity for gene delivery. This review first introduces the classification of EVs and then discusses several currently popular methods for isolating and purifying EVs, EVs-mediated drug delivery, and the functionalization of EVs as carriers. Thereby, it provides new avenues for the development of EVs-based therapeutic strategies in different fields of medicine. Bladder cancer (BCa) is one of the most common malignancies worldwide. Although multiple efforts have been made, the 5-year survival rate of patients with BCa remains unchanged in recent years. Overexpression of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is found in ≈74% of BCa tissue specimens; however, current EGFR-based targeted therapies show little benefit for BCa patients, as the EGFR downstream pathways appear to be circumvented by other receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). In this study, two natural products are identified, namely triptolide (TPL) and hesperidin (HSP), that target and inhibit the EGFR and its downstream PI3K/AKT pathway in BCa. To synergistically combine triptolide and hesperidin, a succinic acid linker was employed to conjugate them and formed an amphiphilic TPL-HSP EGFR-targeting prodrug (THE), which further self-assembled to generate nanoparticles (THE NPs). These NPs allowed the EGFR-targeted delivery of the triptolide and hesperidin, and simultaneous inhibition of the EGFR and PI3K/AKT both in vitro and in vivo. This study provides a promising EGFR-targeted delivery approach with the dual inhibition of the EGFR and PI3K/AKT, while also exhibiting a high drug loading and low toxicity. Background: Dysregulation of MSCs differentiation is associated with many pathophysiological processes. Genetically modified MSCs transplantation helps restore bone loss efficiently., Methods: BMSCs-specific QKI overexpressing and knockdown mice were built to explore QKI's role in bone formation and fat accumulation. Primary BMSCs with QKI overexpression and knockout were subjected to osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation. ALP staining and oil red O staining were performed to evaluate the differences between the groups. RNA immunoprecipitation was performed to identify the QKI-related pathway. QKI deficient BMSCs were transplanted into mice with glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis to evaluate its therapeutic potential., Results: Mice harboring BMSC-specific transgenic QKI exhibited reduced bone mass, while BMSC-specific QKI-deficient mice showed an increase in bone mass. Osteogenic differentiation of QKI deficient BMSCs was promoted and adipogenic differentiation was inhibited, while QKI overexpression in BMSCs displayed the opposite effects. To define the underlying mechanisms, RIP sequencing was performed. Wnt pathway-related genes were the putative direct target mRNAs of QKI, Canonical Wnt pathway activation was involved in QKI's effects on osteogenic differentiation. RNA immunoprecipitation quantitative real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization experiments further validated that QKI repressed the expressions of Wnt5b, Fzd7, Dvl3 and β-catenin via direct binding to their putative mRNA specific sites. Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporotic mice transplanted with QKI deficient BMSCs exhibited less bone loss compared with mice transplanted with control BMSCs., Conclusions: QKI suppressed BMSCs osteogenic differentiation by downregulating the expressions of Wnt5b, Fzd7, Dvl3 and β-catenin. Introduction: Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) is the most lethal thyroid carcinoma. Doxorubicin (DOX) is the only drug approved for anaplastic thyroid cancer treatment, but its clinical use is restricted due to irreversible tissue toxicity. Berberine (BER), an isoquinoline alkaloid extracted from Coptidis Rhizoma , has been proposed to have antitumor activity in many cancers. However, the underlying mechanisms by which BER regulates apoptosis and autophagy in ATC remain unclear. Thus, the present study aimed to assess the therapeutic effect of BER in human ATC cell lines CAL-62 and BHT-101 as well as the underlying mechanisms. In addition, we assessed the antitumor effects of a combination of BER and DOX in ATC cells., Methods: The cell viability of CAL-62 and BTH-101 with treatment of BER for different hours was measured by CCK-8 assay, and cell apoptosis was assessed by clone formation assay and flow cytometric analysis. The protein levels of apoptosis protein, autophagy-related proteins and PI3K/AKT/mTORpathway were determined Using Western blot. Autophagy in cells was observed with GFP-LC3 plasmid using confocal fluorescent microscopy. Flow cytometry was used to detect intracellular ROS., Results: The present results showed that BER significantly inhibited cell growth and induced apoptosis in ATC cells. BER treatment also significantly upregulated the expression of LC3B-II and increased the number of GFP-LC3 puncta in ATC cells. Inhibition of autophagy by 3-methyladenine (3-MA) suppressed BER-induced autophagic cell death. Moreover, BER induced the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Mechanistically, we demonstrated that BER regulated the autophagy and apoptosis of human ATC cells through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathways. Accurate detection of target analytes and generation of high-fidelity fluorescence signals are particularly critical in life sciences and clinical diagnostics. However, the majority of current NIR-I fluorescent probes are vulnerable to pH effects resulting in signal distortion. In this work, a series of fluorescence-tunable and pH-independent probes are reported by combining optically tunable groups of unsymmetric Si-rhodamines and introducing the methoxy instead of the spiro ring on the benzene ring at position 9. To validate the concept, the leucine aminopeptidase response site was introduced into Si-2,6OMe-NH 2 with the best optical properties to synthesize Si-LAP for monitoring the intrahepatic LAP in vivo. Therefore, the design approach may provide a new and practical strategy for designing innovative functional fluorescent probes and generating high-stability and high-fidelity fluorescent signals.

Objective: The study aimed to estimate the benchmark dose (BMD) of coke oven emissions (COEs) exposure based on mitochondrial damage with the mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNAcn) as a biomarker., Methods: A total of 782 subjects were recruited, including 238 controls and 544 exposed workers. The mtDNAcn of peripheral leukocytes was detected through the real-time fluorescence-based quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Three BMD approaches were used to calculate the BMD of COEs exposure based on the mitochondrial damage and its 95% confidence lower limit (BMDL)., Results: The mtDNAcn of the exposure group was lower than that of the control group (0.60 ± 0.29 vs. 1.03 ± 0.31; P < 0.001). A dose-response relationship was shown between the mtDNAcn damage and COEs. Using the Benchmark Dose Software, the occupational exposure limits (OELs) for COEs exposure in males was 0.00190 mg/m 3 . The OELs for COEs exposure using the BBMD were 0.00170 mg/m 3 for the total population, 0.00158 mg/m 3 for males, and 0.00174 mg/m 3 for females. In possible risk obtained from animal studies (PROAST), the OELs of the total population, males, and females were 0.00184, 0.00178, and 0.00192 mg/m 3 , respectively., Conclusion: Based on our conservative estimate, the BMDL of mitochondrial damage caused by COEs is 0.002 mg/m 3 . Doxorubicin (DOX), is a high efficiency anthracycline antitumor drug. However, the clinical application of DOX is limited mainly by dose-related adverse drug reactions. Currently, the therapeutic effects of Atorvastatin (ATO) on DOX-induced hepatotoxicity were studied in vivo. The results indicated that DOX impaired hepatic function, as measured by an increased levels of liver weight index and serum concentrations of aspartate transaminase and alanine transaminase, as well as alteration of hepatic histology. In addition, DOX increased the serum levles of triglyceride (TG) and nonestesterified fatty acid. ATO prevented these changes. Mechanical analysis revealed that ATO restored the changes of malondialdehyde, reactive oxygen radical species, glutathione peroxidase and manganese superoxide dismutase. Additionally, ATO inhibited the increased expression levels of nuclear factor-kappa B and interleukin 1β, hence suppressing inflammation. Meanwhile, ATO inhibited cell apoptosis by dramatically decreasing the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio. In addition, ATO mitigated the lipidtoxicity by inhibiting the adipolysis of TG and accelerating hepatic lipid metabolism. Taken together, the results suggest ATO has therapeutic effect on DOX-induced hepatotoxicity via inhibition of oxidative damage, inflammatory and apoptosis. Background: Lung cancer (LC) is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Tumor marker (TM) detection can indicate the existence and growth of a tumor and has therefore been used extensively for diagnosing LC. Here, we conducted a bibliometric analysis to examine TM-related publications for LC diagnosis to illustrate the current state and future trends of this field, as well as to identify additional promising TMs with high sensitivity., Methods: Publications regarding TMs in LC diagnosis were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace was applied to perform a bibliometric analysis of journals, cocitation authors, keywords, and references related to this field. VOSviewer was used to generate concise diagrams about countries, institutions, authors, and keywords. Changes in the TM research frontier were analyzed through citation burst detection., Results: A total of 990 studies were analyzed in this work. The collaboration network analysis revealed that the People's Republic of China, Yonsei University, and Molina R were the most productive country, institution, and scholar, respectively. Additionally, Molina R was the author with the most citations. The National Natural Science Foundation of China was the largest funding source. "Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) as tumor marker in lung cancer" was the top reference with the most citations, Lung Cancer was the core journal, and "serum tumor marker" experienced a citation burst over the past 5 years., Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis of TMs in LC diagnosis presents the current trends and frontiers in this field. We summarized the research status of this field and the methods to improve the diagnostic efficacy of traditional serum TMs, as well as provided new directions and ideas for improving the LC clinical detection rate. Priority should be given to the transformation of computer-assisted diagnostic technology for clinical applications. The uncertainty of lidar measured atmospheric temperature T or line-of-sight (LOS) wind V is inversely proportional to the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the received photocounts. We term the proportionality constant, which depicts the efficacy of the measurement method, the single-photon (or unity SNR) measurement uncertainty for T and/or V measurement. In this study, we use the single-photon measurement uncertainty as the figure of merit to compare and understand the practical differences between Cabannes scattering (CS), Rayleigh inversion (RI), rotational Raman (RR), and laser induced fluorescence (LIF) lidars for atmospheric temperature and wind measurements, and to optimize the choice and receiver design of a lidar system for a potential application.

Aberrant lysosomal alkalization is associated with various biological processes, such as oxidative stress, cell apoptosis, ferroptosis, etc. Herein, we developed a novel aminofluorene-based fluorescence probe named FAN to monitor the lysosomal alkalization-related biological processes by its migration from lysosome to nucleus. FAN possessed NIR emission, large Stokes shift, high pH stability, and high photostability, making it suitable for real-time and long-term bioimaging. As a lysosomotropic molecule, FAN can accumulate in lysosomes first and then migrate to the nucleus by right of its binding capability to DNA after lysosomal alkalization. In this manner, FAN was successfully used to monitor these physiological processes which triggered lysosomal alkalization in living cells, including oxidative stress, cell apoptosis, and ferroptosis. More importantly, at higher concentrations, FAN could also serve as a stable nucleus dye for the fluorescence imaging of the nucleus in living cells and tissues. This novel multifunctional fluorescence probe shows great promise for application in lysosomal alkalization-related visual research and nucleus imaging.

Mesendodermal specification and cardiac differentiation are key issues for developmental biology and heart regeneration medicine. Previously, we demonstrated that FAM122A, a highly conserved housekeeping gene, is an endogenous inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) and participates in multifaceted physiological and pathological processes. However, the in vivo function of FAM122A is largely unknown. In this study, we observed that Fam122 deletion resulted in embryonic lethality with severe defects of cardiovascular developments and significantly attenuated cardiac functions in conditional cardiac-specific knockout mice. More importantly, Fam122a deficiency impaired mesendodermal specification and cardiac differentiation from mouse embryonic stem cells but showed no influence on pluripotent identity. Mechanical investigation revealed that the impaired differentiation potential was caused by the dysregulation of histone modification and Wnt and Hippo signaling pathways through modulation of PP2A activity. These findings suggest that FAM122A is a novel and critical regulator in mesendodermal specification and cardiac differentiation. The increasing sodium salts (NaCl, NaHCO3, NaSO4 etc.) in agricultural soil is a serious global concern for sustainable agricultural production and food security. Soybean is an important food crop, and their cultivation is severely challenged by high salt concentration in soils. Classical transgenic and innovative breeding technologies are immediately needed to engineer salt tolerant soybean plants. Additionally, unfolding the molecular switches and the key components of the soybean salt tolerance network are crucial for soybean salt tolerance improvement. Here we review our understandings of the core salt stress response mechanism in soybean. Recent findings described that salt stress sensing, signalling, ionic homeostasis (Na + /K + ) and osmotic stress adjustment might be important in regulating the soybean salinity stress response. We also evaluated the importance of antiporters and transporters such as Arabidopsis K + Transporter 1 ( AKT1 ) potassium channel and the impact of epigenetic modification on soybean salt tolerance. We also review key phytohormones, and osmo-protectants and their role in salt tolerance in soybean. In addition, we discuss the progress of omics technologies for identifying salt stress responsive molecular switches and their targeted engineering for salt tolerance in soybean. Today, about 50% of men and 15-30% of women are estimated to face hair-related problems, which create a significant psychological burden. Conventional treatments, including drug therapy and transplantation, remain the main strategies for the clinical management of these problems. However, these treatments are hindered by challenges such as drug-induced adverse effects and poor drug penetration due to the skin's barrier. Therefore, various efforts have been undertaken to enhance drug permeation based on the mechanisms of hair regrowth. Notably, understanding the delivery and diffusion of topically administered drugs is essential in hair loss research. This review focuses on the advancement of transdermal strategies for hair regrowth, particularly those involving external stimulation and regeneration (topical administration) as well as microneedles (transdermal delivery). Furthermore, it also describes the natural products that have become alternative agents to prevent hair loss. In addition, given that skin visualization is necessary for hair regrowth as it provides information on drug localization within the skin's structure, this review also discusses skin visualization strategies. Finally, it details the relevant patents and clinical trials in these areas. Together, this review highlights the innovative strategies for skin visualization and hair regrowth, aiming to provide novel ideas to researchers studying hair regrowth in the future.
