Epidemiological studies have shown that almost all physical illnesses coexist with psychiatric disorders or psychological problems, and the severity of mental illness is positively correlated with the duration and severity of physical illness. Liaison consultations are valuable in identifying and treating psychiatric disorders, but the rate of psychiatric follow-up after consultation is low in outpatients. This study aimed to investigate the factors influencing post-discharge psychosomatic follow-up visits in patients undergoing psychiatric liaison consultation in general hospitals and construct a Nomogram prediction model for patients' post-discharge psychosomatic follow-up visits. Medical record data of inpatients who received psychiatric liaison consultations at Xi'an International Medical Center Hospital in China from September 2019 to September 2020 were analyzed. Lasso regression and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to screen independent influences on the occurrence of post-discharge psychosomatic follow-ups in patients undergoing psychiatric liaison consultations. Risk prediction column line graphs were constructed using R software, and the models were evaluated. Of the 494 inpatients who received psychiatric liaison consultations, 115 patients (23.279%) (mean age = 54.8 years) went for post-discharge psychosomatic follow-up, while 379 patients (mean age = 59.3 years) had no record of psychosomatic follow-up. Furthermore, occupation, interval.time, diagnosis, out.antipsychotics, and recommendations.followup were independent factors influencing post-discharge psychosomatic follow-up. The model accurately predicted post-discharge psychosomatic follow-up behavior of inpatients who received psychiatric liaison consultations. Lastly, the clinical decision curve analysis showed that the model had good validity for clinical application. Objective: To describe the characteristics of a consultation-liaison psychiatry (CLP) service at a general hospital in China, compare the literature on CLP in other hospitals in China and abroad, and identify reasons for the differences., Methods: The medical records of all inpatients who received liaison consultations in the first year of the establishment of Xi'an International Medical Center Hospital were reviewed. Demographic data, specific department, number of consultations, reasons for consultation, outcome of consultation, and follow-up information on patients was collected., Results: A total of 630 patients were enrolled during the first year of the hospital's opening, of which 45.2% were male and 54.8% were female. A total of 89.2% of non-psychiatric departments requested a psychosomatic consultation. The percentage of middle-aged and elderly patients was 75.6%, of whom 61.6% were aged 45 to 74 years. The internal medicine department requested the highest number of consultations (48.2%), including those from respiratory medicine (12.1%), neurology (12.1%), gastroenterology (12.1%), and cardiology (12.1%). Among surgical patients, orthopedic patients (6.5%) comprised the majority of consults. The main reasons for requesting a psychosomatic consultation were depressive symptoms (139 cases, 22.8%), anxiety symptoms (137 cases, 22.5%), sleep problems (111 cases, 18.2%), and hallucinations, delusions, or behavioral problems (68 cases, 11.2%), accounting for a total of 74.6% of consultations (455/630)., Conclusion: A significant gap exists between the level of CLP services in China and developed regions in Europe and the United States, mainly due to low psychiatric consultation rates and poor quality CLP services.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of compound Gaoziban tablet (, CGZBT) on depression, and to investigate the underlying mechanism., Methods: The components of CGZBT were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography. Then, we assessed the effects of varying doses of CGZBT on an established chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) model in rats. Whether animals were depressed was evaluated by sucrose preference test, open field test and forced swimming test. Neurotransmitters of hippocampus were detected by liquid chromatography-mass spec-trometry. Serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-4, and IL-10 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Expressions of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88), phospho-nuclear factor-kappa B (p-NF-κB), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), ionized calcium binding adapter molecule-1 (IBA-1) were assessed by immunohistochemical staining and western blotting., Results: Eight compounds were identified from CGZBT, moreover, our results showed that CGZBT effectively reversed the CUMS-induced decrease in sucrose preference, shortened the movement distance and prolonged immobility time. CGZBT significantly increased levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine, dopamine, norepinephrine, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid levels, and reduced the expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, yet increased IL-4 and IL-10. Furthermore, the expressions of TLR4, MyD88, COX-2, p-NF-κB and IBA-1 in hippocampus were effectively reversed after treatment with CGZBT., Conclusions: These results indicated that CGZBT could, at least in part, alleviate depression induced by CUMS the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB pathway, suggesting its potential as an antidepressant drug.

Cr/Fe-bearing sludge is a hazardous solid waste, produced at mass production in smelting, plating and surface finishing industries. Such waste is commonly treated by chemical detoxification and safety landfill, whereas only a few Cr-rich sludge is recycled as a tanning reagent. In this study, a novel route was developed to recycle Cr/Fe-bearing sludge as erdite-bearing flocculant for wastewater treatment. Results showed that two sludges were irregular aggregates, one of which contained 1.6 wt.% Cr (short for LS) and the other contained 4.2 wt.% Cr (HS). After hydrothermal treatment, stable Cr(III)/S-bearing product was formed from the Cr(VI) reduction in the sludges. Conversely, erdite was generated in nanorod form with diameter and length of 200 nm and 0.5-1 μm from LS, respectively, whereas grew radially to 1.5-2.5 μm for HS. The two erdite-bearing products were spontaneously hydrolysed to Fe/S-bearing flocs and showed similar performance in the treatment of real electroplating effluent with 91.55, 1.94 and 0.25 mg/L of Zn, Ni and Cr, respectively. For instance, by adding 1 g/L product of LS, the release of Cr from the products did not occur, and the residual Zn, Ni and Cr in the effluent was 0.25, 0.65 and 0.17 mg/L, respectively, which met the discharge standard of the electroplating industry. With the two converted products, the residual Zn/Ni/Cr concentrations were apparently lower than those of the raw sludges and other common reagents (e.g. polymeric ferric sulphate, activated carbon and diatomite). 6-O-Angeloylenolin, a sesquiterpene lactone from Centipeda minima, has been known to have anti-tumor activity against human colorectum, liver, stomach, lung, and skin tumor cells. However, its molecular mechanism is still obscure and insufficient in in vivo tests. In this study, we demonstrated that 6-O-angeloylenolin could induce apoptosis in human leukemia HL60 cells through stimulating the generation of reactive oxygen species, decreasing mitochondrial trans-membrane potential (DeltaPsim) and activating caspase-3/7. We also found that 6-O-angeloylenolin could inhibit nuclear translocation of NF-kappaB and modulate the expression of Bcl-2 gene family. These results indicated that 6-O-angeloylenolin induces apoptosis by inhibition of NF-kappaB activation, modulation of Bcl-2 gene family expression and destruction of mitochondrial function. Furthermore, we confirmed that 6-O-angeloylenolin could obviously inhibit the solid cancer growth in Lewis lung cancer xenograft models.

Objective: To study the major chemical constituents from the whole herb of Swertia kauitchensis Franch., Method: Compounds were separated and purified with silica gel column and microreticular resin, and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidence (UV, IR, MS, NMR)., Result: Ten compounds were identified as oleanolic acid (1), beta-sitosterol (2), daucosterol (3), gentiacaulein (4), bellidifolin (5), methylswertianin (6), swertianin (7), 1,7-dihydroxy-3,4,8-trimethoxyxanthone (8), swertianolin (9),1,3,5,8-tetrahydroxyxanthone (10)., Conclusion: All compounds were isolated from Swertia kauitchensis Franch for the first time.
