Reproducing human nervous systems with endogenous mechanisms has attracted increasing attention, driven by its great potential in streamlining the neuro-electronic interfaces with bilateral signaling. Here, an artificial aquatic autonomic nervous system (ANS) with switchable excitatory/inhibitory characteristics and acetylcholine (ACh)-mediated plasticity is reported based on the newly emerged organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT). Under the modulation of spatial light and ACh, the system exhibits an immediate switch between excitation and inhibition, and many pulse patterns as well as advanced ANS functions are mimicked. To demonstrate its potential usage, the artificial ANS is then utilized to control artificial pupils and muscles to emulate real biological responses during an emergency. Organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) has emerged as a promising technique for biomolecule detection, yet its operational rationale remains limited due to its short development time. This study introduces a stable tandem catalysis protocol by synergizing the enzyme-incorporated metal-organic frameworks (E-MOFs) with polyoxometalate (POM) nanozyme for sensitive OPECT bioanalysis. The zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) acts as the skeleton to protect the encapsulated glucose oxidase (GOx), allowing the stable catalytic generation of H 2 O 2 . With peroxidase-like activity, a phosphotungstic acid hydrate (PW 12 ) is then able to utilize the H 2 O 2 to induce the biomimetic precipitation on the photogate, ultimately resulting in the altered device characteristics for quantitative detection. This work reveals the potential and versatility of an engineered enzymatic system as a key enabler to achieve novel OPECT bioanalysis, which is believed to offer a feasible framework to explore new operational rationale in optoelectronic and bioelectronic detection.

Chemical synapse completes the signaling through neurotransmitter-mediated ion flux, the emulation of which has been a long-standing obstacle in neuromorphic exploration. Here, we report metal-organic framework (MOF) nanofluidic synapses in which conjugated MOFs with abundant ionic storage sites underlie the ionic hysteresis and simultaneously serve as catalase mimetics that sensitively respond to neurotransmitter glutamate (Glu). Various neurosynaptic patterns with adaptable weights are realized via Glu-mediated chemical/ionic coupling. In particular, nonlinear Hebbian and anti-Hebbian learning in millisecond time ranges are achieved, akin to those of chemical synapses. Reversible biochemical in-memory encoding via enzymatic Glu clearance is also accomplished. Such results are prerequisites for highly bionic electrolytic computers.

Reproducing human visual functions with artificial devices is a long-standing goal of the neuromorphic domain. However, emulating the chemical language communication of the visual system in fluids remains a grand challenge. Here, a "multi-color" hydrogel-based photoelectrochemical retinomorphic synapse is reported with unique chemical-ionic-electrical signaling in an aqueous electrolyte that enables, e.g., color perception and biomolecule-mediated synaptic plasticity. Based on the specific enzyme-catalyzed chromogenic reactions, three multifunctional colored hydrogels are developed, which can not only synergize with the Bi 2 S 3 photogate to recognize the primary colors but also synergize with a given polymeric channel to promote the long-term memory of the system. A synaptic array is further constructed for sensing color images and biomolecule-coded information communication. Taking advantage of the versatile biochemistry, the biochemical-driven reversible photoelectric response of the cone cell is further mimicked. The field of organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) is newly emerged, with increasing efforts attempting to utilize its properties in biological sensing. Advanced materials with new physicochemical properties have proven important to this end. Herein, we report a metal-organic polymers-gated OPECT biosensing exemplified by Cu Ⅰ -arylacetylide polymers (CuAs)-modulated poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) channel. Both the photoelectrochemical properties and gating capability of CuAs are explored and optimized for high-efficacy photogating. Morever, based on its inherent structure, the specific reaction between CuAs and sulfur ions (S 2- ) is revealed and S 2- -mediated microRNA-21 detection is realized by linking with nucleic acid amplification and alkaline phosphatase catalytic chemistry. In this paper, a novel, simple and mild soft template assisted strategy and further carbonization approach has been constructed to the size-tunable preparation of porous Cu-N-C/Surfactant catalysts successfully. Note that the pluronic F127 has a significant influence on the synthesis of porous Cu-N-C/F127 with the atomically dispersed Cu-N 4 and adjacent Cu atomic clusters (ACs) than other surfactants owing to their particular non-ionic structure. By combining a series of experimental analysis and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, the synergistic effects between the adjacent Cu ACs and atomically dispersed Cu-N 4 are favorable for manipulating the binding energy of O 2 adsorption and intermediates desorption at the atomic interface of catalysts, resulting in an excellent electrocatalytic ORR performance with a faster kinetics for Cu-N-C/F127 than those of the Cu-N-C, Cu-N-C/CTAB, Cu-N-C/SDS, and comparable with the commercial Pt/C catalyst. Currently, the nanofluidic synapse can only perform basic neuromorphic pulse patterns. One immediate problem that needs to be addressed to further its capability of brain-like computing is the realization of a nanofluidic spiking device. Here, we report the use of a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate membrane to achieve bionic ionic current-induced spiking. In addition to the simulation of various electrical pulse patterns, our synapse could produce transmembrane ionic current-induced spiking, which is highly analogous to biological action potentials with similar phases and excitability. Moreover, the spiking properties could be modulated by ions and neurochemicals. The monitoring of organic compounds in aquatic matrices poses challenges due to its complexity and time-intensive nature. To address these challenges, we introduce a novel approach utilizing a dual-channel mono ( 1 D) and comprehensive two-dimensional ( 2 D) gas chromatography coupled with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC × GC-TOFMS) system, integrated with a robotic pretreatment platform, for online monitoring of both volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and semivolatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in water matrices. Employing the robotic platform, we establish a suite of online liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) pretreatment processes for water samples, marking the first instance of such procedures. Leveraging the automatic headspace (HS) module, dual robotic preparations of HS and LLE are sequentially executed to extract VOCs and SVOCs from water matrices. The GC × GC-TOFMS system is distinguished by its dual-channel analytical column configuration, facilitating sequential analysis of VOCs in GC-TOFMS mode and SVOCs in GC × GC-TOFMS mode. Quantitative detection of 55 target VOCs and 104 SVOCs is achieved in a water sample using the instrument system. Our method demonstrates excellent correlation coefficients ranging from 0.990 to 1.000, method detection limits ranging from 0.08 to 4.78 μg L -1 , relative standard deviations below 19.3 %, and recovery rates ranging from 50.0 % to 124.0 %. To validate the online monitoring capabilities of our system, we assess target SVOCs at three different concentration levels over a 3-day period. Most compounds exhibit recovery rates ranging from 70.0 % to 130.0 %. Furthermore, we apply our method to analyze a real water sample, successfully identifying over 100 target and nontarget VOCs/SVOCs, including alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, acids, esters, and phenols. The present study aimed to establish an effective prognostic nomogram model based on the Naples prognostic score (NPS) for resectable thoracic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). A total of 277 patients with ESCC, who underwent standard curative esophagectomy and designated as study cohort, were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into different groups, including NPS 0, NPS 1, NPS 2, and NPS 3 or 4 groups, for further analysis, and the results were validated in an external cohort of 122 ESCC patients, who underwent surgery at another cancer center. In our multivariate analysis of the study cohort showed that the tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage, systemic inflammation score, and NPS were the independent prognostic factors for the overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) durations. In addition, the differential grade was also an independent prognostic factor for the OS in the patients with ESCC after surgery (all P < .05). The area under the curve of receiver operator characteristics for the PFS and OS prediction with systemic inflammation score and NPS were 0.735 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.676-0.795, P < .001) and 0.835 (95% CI 0.786-0.884, P < .001), and 0.734 (95% CI 0.675-0.793, P < .001) and 0.851 (95% CI 0.805-0.896, P < .001), respectively. The above independent predictors for OS or PFS were all selected in the nomogram model. The concordance indices (C-indices) of the nomogram models for predicting OS and PFS were 0.718 (95% CI 0.681-0.755) and 0.669 (95% CI 0.633-0.705), respectively, which were higher than that of the 7th edition of American Joint Committee on Cancer TNM staging system [C-index 0.598 (95% CI 0.558-0.638) for OS and 0.586 (95% CI 0.546-0.626) for PFS]. The calibration curves for predicting the 5-year OS or PFS showed a good agreement between the prediction by nomogram and actual observation. In the external validation cohort, the nomogram discrimination for OS was better than that of the 7th edition of TNM staging systems [C-index: 0.697 (95% CI 0.639-0.755) vs 0.644 (95% CI 0.589-0.699)]. The calibration curves showed good consistency in predicting the 5-year survival between the actual observation and nomogram predictions. The decision curve also showed a higher potential of the clinical application of predicting the 5-years OS of the proposed nomogram model as compared to that of the 7th edition of TNM staging systems. Organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) has shown substantial potential in the development of next-generation bioanalysis yet is limited by the either-or situation between the photoelectrode types and the channel types. Inspired by the dual-photoelectrode systems, we propose a new architecture of dual-engine OPECT for enhanced signal modulation and its biosensing application. Exemplified by incorporating the CdS/Bi 2 S 3 photoanode and Cu 2 O photocathode within the gate-source circuit of Ag/AgCl-gated poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) channel, the device shows enhanced modulation capability and larger transconductance ( g m ) against the single-photoelectrode ones. Moreover, the light irritation upon the device effectively shifts the peak value of g m to zero gate voltage without degradation and generates larger current steps that are advantageous for the sensitive bioanalysis. Based on the as-developed dual-photoelectrode OPECT, target-mediated recycling and etching reactions are designed upon the CdS/Bi 2 S 3 , which could result in dual signal amplification and realize the sensitive microRNA-155 biodetection with a linear range from 1 fM to 100 pM and a lower detection limit of 0.12 fM.

Background: Positive psychological interventions (PPIs) are known to be effective in alleviating depression. However, the effect of PPIs on positive and negative emotions in depressed participants is not unclear., Aims: To systematically investigate the effects of PPIs on positive and negative emotions in depressed individuals., Methods: 6 databases were searched for randomized controlled trials of PPIs in individuals with depressive disorders or depressive symptoms. Hedges' g value was computed using a random-effects model to determine effect sizes., Results: 14 trials from 13 studies were included. Our meta-analysis showed that PPIs had significant but small effects on improving positive affect (g = 0.33, p  = .02), life satisfaction (g = 0.26, p  = .03), happiness (g = 0.62, p  = .03) and depression (g = -0.32, p  = .001), and negligible effects on improving well-being (g = 0.13, p  = .24) and negative affect (g = -0.15, p  = .31). Subgroup analyses of depression showed that PPIs have experienced benefits in improving depression in most subgroups. In addition, none of the subgroup analyses performed for outcomes other than depression found PPIs to be more effective than controls., Conclusion: PPIs can improve positive affect, life satisfaction, happiness and depression in depressed individuals, but further studies are needed to validate their effects on well-being, and negative affect.

As two mainstream ionic detection techniques, ionic current rectification (ICR) suffers from large fluctuations in trace level detection, while resistive-pulse sensing (RPS) encounters easy clogs in high-concentration detection. By rationally matching the nanopore size with the DNA tetrahedron (TDN), this work bridges the two techniques to achieve reliable detection with wide linearity. As a representative analyte, miRNA-10b could specifically combine with and release TDN from the interior wall, which thus induced the simultaneous generation of distinct ICR and RPS signals. The ICR signals could be attributed to the balance between the effective orifice and surface charge density of the inner wall, while the RPS signals were induced by the complex of miRNA-10b and TDN passing through the nanopore. Such an operation contributed to a wide detection range of 1 fM-1 nM with a good linearity. The feasibility of this method is also validated in single-cell and real plasma detection.

Electrochemistry that empowers innovative nanoscopic analysis has long been pursued. Here, the concept of aggregation-enabled electrochemistry (AEE) in a confined nanopore is proposed and devised by reactive oxygen species (ROS)-responsive aggregation of CdS quantum dots (QDs) within a functional nanopipette. Complementary Faradaic and non-Faradaic operations of the CdS QDs aggregate could be conducted to simultaneously induce the signal-on of the photocurrents and the signal-off of the ionic signals. Such a rationale permits the cross-checking of the mutually corroborated signals and thus delivers more reliable results for single-cell ROS analysis. Combined with the rich biomatter-light interplay, the concept of AEE can be extended to other stimuli-responsive aggregations for electrochemical innovations.

This work proposes the concept of single-cell microRNA (miR) therapy and proof-of-concept by engineering a nanopipette for high-precision miR-21-targeted therapy in a single HeLa cell with sensitive photoelectrochemical (PEC) feedback. Targeting the representative oncogenic miR-21, the as-functionalized nanopipette permits direct intracellular drug administration with precisely controllable dosages, and the corresponding therapeutic effects can be sensitively transduced by a PEC sensing interface that selectively responds to the indicator level of cytosolic caspase-3. The experimental results reveal that injection of ca. 4.4 × 10 -20  mol miR-21 inhibitor, i.e., 26488 copies, can cause the obvious therapeutic action in the targeted cell. Recently, organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) bioanalysis has become a prominent technique for the high-performance detection of biomolecules. However, as a sensitive index of the OPECT, the dynamic regulation transconductance ( g m ) is still severely deficient. Herein, this work reports a new photosensitive metal-organic framework (MOF-on-MOF) heterostructure for the effective modulation of maximum g m and natural bienzyme interfacing toward choline detection. Specifically, the bidentate ligand MOF (b-MOF) was assembled onto the UiO-66 MOF (u-MOF) by a modular assembly method, which could facilitate the charge separation and generate enhanced photocurrents and offer a biophilic environment for the immobilization of choline oxidase (ChOx) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) through hydrogen-bonded bridges. The transconductance of the OPECT could be flexibly altered by increased light intensity to maximal value at zero gate bias, and sensitive choline detection was achieved with a detection limit of 0.2 μM. This work reveals the potential of MOF-on-MOF heterostructures for futuristic optobioelectronics.

Herein, the first iontronic photoelectrochemical (PEC) biorecognition probing is devised by rational engineering of a dual-functional bioconjugate, i.e., a light-sensitive intercalated structural DNA, as a smart gating module confined within a nanotip, which could respond to both the incident light and biotargets of interest. Light stimulation of the bioconjugate could intensify the negative charge at the nano-orifice to sustain enhanced ionic current. The presence of proteins (e.g., acetylcholinesterase, AChE) or nucleic acids (e.g., microRNA (miR)-10b) could lead to bioconjugate release with altered ionic signaling. The practical applicability of the methodology is confirmed by AChE detection in human serum and miR-10b detection in single cells.

This work reports the construction of a miniaturized Ag/AgCl nanoelectrode on a nanopipette, which is capable of dual-functions of single-cell drug infusion and chloride detection and is envisioned to promote the study of chloride-correlated therapeutic effects.

A facile route for exponential magnification of transconductance ( g m ) in an organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) is still lacking. Herein, photoresponsive hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (PR-HOFs) have been shown to be efficient for g m magnification in a typical poly(ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) OPECT. Specifically, 450 nm light stimulation of 1,3,6,8-tetrakis (p-benzoic acid) pyrene (H4TBAPy)-based HOF could efficiently modulate the device characteristics, leading to the considerable g m magnification over 78 times from 0.114 to 8.96 mS at zero V g . In linkage with a DNA nanomachine-assisted steric hindrance amplification strategy, the system was then interfaced with the microRNA-triggered structural DNA evolution toward the sensitive detection of a model target microRNA down to 0.1 fM. This study first reveals HOFs-enabled efficient g m magnification in organic electronics and its application for sensitive biomolecular detection.

Developing nanoscale ratiometric techniques capable of biochemical response should prove of significance for precise applications with stringent spatial and biological restrictions. Here we present and devise the concept of θ-nanopore ratiometry, which uses ratiometric signals that could well address the serious concerns about device deviation in fabrication and nonspecific adsorption in the detection. As exemplified by a 200 nm θ-nanopore toward miRNA detection, the ±20 nm aperture drift could be mitigated and the issue of nonspecific adsorption could be minimized in the complex cytosolic environment. Practical application of this θ-nanopore ratiometry realizes the measurements of cytosolic miRNA-10b. This work has not only established a nanoscopic ratiometric technique but also enriched the extant armory of nanotools for single-cell studies and beyond.

Direct single-cell caspase-3 (Casp-3) analysis has remained challenging. A study of single-cell Casp-3 could contribute to revealing the fundamental pathogenic mechanisms in Casp-3-associated diseases. Here, a biomimetic nanochannel capable of single-cell sampling and ionic detection of intracellular Casp-3 is devised, which is established upon the installment of target-specific organic molecules (luc-DEVD) within the orifice of a glass nanopipette. The specific cleavage of luc-DEVD by Casp-3 could induce changes of inner-surface chemical groups and charge properties, thus altering the ionic response of the biomimetic nanochannel for direct Casp-3 detection. The practical applicability of this biomimetic nanochannel is confirmed by probing intracellular Casp-3 fluctuation upon drug stimulation and quantifying the Casp-3 evolution during induced apoptosis. This work realizes ionic single-cell Casp-3 analysis and provides a different perspective for single-cell protein analysis.

Background: Previous clinical trials have reported that acupoint catgut embedding (ACE) is a useful modality for weight loss. However, no study has specifically investigated the effectiveness and safety of comparing verum and sham ACE in adults with obesity. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of comparing verum and sham ACE in obese adults., Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted in the electronic databases of PUBMED, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and China Biomedical Literature Service System from inception to April 1, 2022. Randomized clinical trials that focused on evaluating the effectiveness of comparing verum and sham ACE in adults with obesity were included. The primary outcomes included reduction in body weight, body mass index, hip circumference, and waist circumference. The secondary outcomes consisted of a decrease in body fat percentage and the occurrence rate of adverse events. The methodological quality of the included randomized clinical trials was evaluated using the Cochrane Risk-of-bias tool. Statistical analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software., Results: Six trials involving 679 adults with obesity were included in this study and entered in the data analysis of systematic review and meta-analysis. Results of the meta-analysis revealed significant reduction in body weight (mean difference [MD] = -1.68, 95% confidence intervals (CI) [-2.34, -1.01], I2 = 51%, P < .001), body mass index (MD = -0.51, 95% CI [-0.81, -0.21], I2 = 74%, P < .001), hip circumference (MD = -1.11, 95% CI [-1.67, -0.55], I2 = 0%, P < .001), waist circumference (MD = -2.42, 95% CI [-3.38, -1.45], I2 = 68%, P < .001), and decrease in body fat percentage (MD = -0.83, 95% CI [-1.30, -0.36], I2 = 16%, P < .001) in comparing verum and sham ACE. However, no significant difference was identified in AEs (odds ratio = 1.53, 95% CI [0.80, 2.95], I2 = 0%, P = .20) between the 2 groups., Conclusion: ACE is effective in the treatment of obesity in adults with safety profile. This work presents a clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR)/Cas-nanopipette nano-electrochemistry (Cas = CRISPR-associated proteins) capable of ultrasensitive microRNA detection. Nanoconfinement of the CRISPR/Cas13a within a nanopipette leads to a high catalytic efficacy of ca. 169 times higher than that in bulk electrolyte, contributing to the amplified electrochemical responses. CRISPR/Cas13a-enabled detection of representative microRNA-25 achieves a low limit of detection down to 10 aM. Practical application of this method is further demonstrated for single-cell and real human serum detection. Its general applicability is validated by addressing microRNA-141 and the SARS-CoV-2 RNA gene fragment. This work introduces a new CRISPR/Cas-empowered nanotechnology for ultrasensitive nano-electrochemistry and bioanalysis.

The organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) has been proven to be a promising platform to study the rich light-matter-bio interplay toward advanced biomolecular detection, yet current OPECT is highly restrained to its intrinsic electronic amplification. Herein, this work first combines chemical amplification with electronic amplification in OPECT for dual-amplified bioanalytics with high current gain, which is exemplified by human immunoglobulin G (HIgG)-dependent sandwich immunorecognition and subsequent alkaline phosphatase (ALP)-mediated chemical redox cycling (CRC) on a metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived BiVO 4 /WO 3 gate. The target-dependent redox cycling of ascorbic acid (AA) acting as an effective electron donor could lead to an amplified modulation against the polymer channel, as indicated by the channel current. The as-developed bioanalysis could achieve sensitive HIgG detection with a good analytical performance. This work features the dual chemical and electronic amplification for OPECT bioanalysis and is expected to stimulate further interest in the design of CRC-assisted OPECT bioassays.

Herein, a soft-template strategy involving the cationic surfactants has been successfully applied to size-controlled synthesis of hierarchical porous Fe-N/C for the first time. Specifically, a small amount of Fe and cationic surfactants can be uniformly doped into the zinc-based zeolite imidazole framework (ZIF-8) crystal particles and the cationic surfactants play a critical role in the formation of hierarchically porous Fe-ZIF-8@surfactant precursors. When the Fe-ZIF-8@surfactant is subsequently pyrolyzed, atomically dispersed Fe-N x coordination structures can be in-situ converted to Fe-N/C, while the cationic surfactants decompose to form a carbon matrix to encapsulate the active sites, thereby preventing the aggregation of nanoparticles to a certain extent. As a result, the combined Fe nanocrystals and atomically dispersed Fe-N x in the graphitic carbon matrix generate a synergistic effect to boost the electrocatalytic behaviors with a more positive half-wave potential (0.92 V) for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and a lower overpotential (420 mV at 10 mA cm -2 ) for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). DNA intercalation has increasingly been studied for various scenario implementations due to the diverse functions of DNA/intercalators. Nascent organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) biosensing taking place in organic electronics and photoelectrochemical bioanalysis represents a promising technological frontier in the arena. In this work, we first devise DNA intercalation-enabled OPECT for miRNA detection with a superior gain up to 17100. Intercalation of [Ru(bpy) 2 dppz] 2+ within the miRNA-initiated hybrid chain reaction (HCR)-derived duplex DNA is realized for producing anodic photocurrent upon light stimulation, causing the corresponding target-dependent alternation in gate voltage (V G ) and hence the modulated channel current (I DS ) of poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with poly (styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) under specific drain voltage (V DS ) for quantitative miRNA-21 analysis, which shows a wide linear relationship and a low detection limit of 5.5 × 10 -15  mol L -1 . Single-cell analysis of the DNA repair protein is important but remains unachieved. Exploration of nanopipettte technologies in single-cell electroanalysis has recently seen rapid growth, while the θ-nanopipette represents an emerging technological frontier with its potential largely veiled. Here a θ-nanopipette is first applied for single-cell resistive-pulse sensing (RPS) of the important DNA repair protein O 6 -alkylguanine DNA alkyltransferase (hAGT). The removal of alkyl mutations by hAGT could restore the damaged aptamer linking with a structural DNA carrier, allowing the selective binding of the aptamer to thrombin with precisely matched size to produce distinct RPS signals when passing through the orifice. Kinetic analysis of hAGT repair was studied. Meanwhile, the device shows the simultaneous on-demand infusion of inhibitors to inactivate the hAGT activity, indicative of its potential in drug screening for enhanced chemotherapy. This work provides a new paradigm for θ-nanopipette-based single-cell RPS of a DNA repair protein accompanied by drug evaluation.

Biological channels can rapidly and continuously modulate ion transport behaviors in response to external stimuli, which play essential roles in manipulating physiological and pathological processes in cells. Here, to mimic the biological channels, a bionic nanochannel is developed by synergizing a cationic silicon-substituted rhodamine (SiRh) with a glass nanopipette for transmembrane single-cell quantification. Taking the fast and reversible nucleophilic addition reaction between glutathione (GSH) and SiRh, the bionic nanochannel shows a fast and reversible response to GSH, with its inner-surface charges changing between positive and negative charges, leading to a distinct and reversible switch in ionic current rectification (ICR). With the bionic nanochannel, spatiotemporal-resolved operation is performed to quantify endogenous GSH in a single cell, allowing for monitoring of intracellular GSH fluctuation in tumor cells upon photodynamic therapy and ferroptosis. Our results demonstrate that it is a feasible tool for in situ quantification of the endogenous GSH in single cells, which may be adapted to addressing other endogenous biomolecules in single cells by usage of other stimuli-responsive probes.

Background: Amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) is an early stage of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Regional homogeneity (ReHo) and amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) are employed to explore spontaneous brain function in patients with aMCI. This study applied ALFF and ReHo indicators to analyze the neural mechanism of aMCI by resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI)., Methods: Twenty-six patients with aMCI were included and assigned to the aMCI group. The other 26 healthy subjects were included as a healthy control (HC) group. Rs-fMRI was performed for all participants in both groups. Between-group comparisons of demographic data and neuropsychological scores were analyzed using SPSS 25.0. Functional imaging data were analyzed using DPARSF and SPM12 software based on MATLAB 2017a. Gender, age, and years of education were used as covariates to obtain ALFF and ReHo indices., Results: Compared with HC group, ALFF decreased in the left fusiform gyrus, left superior temporal gyrus, and increased in the left cerebellum 8, left inferior temporal gyrus, left superior frontal gyrus (BA11), and right inferior temporal gyrus (BA20) in the aMCI group ( p  < 0.05, FWE correction). In addition, ReHo decreased in the right middle temporal gyrus and right anterior cuneiform lobe, while it increased in the left middle temporal gyrus, left inferior temporal gyrus, cerebellar vermis, right parahippocampal gyrus, left caudate nucleus, right thalamus, and left superior frontal gyrus (BA6) ( p  < 0.05, FWE correction). In the aMCI group, the ALFF of the left superior frontal gyrus was negatively correlated with Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score ( r  = -0.437, p  = 0.026), and the ALFF of the left superior temporal gyrus was positively correlated with the MoCA score ( r  = 0.550, p  = 0.004). The ReHo of the right hippocampus was negatively correlated with the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score ( r  = -0.434, p  = 0.027), and the ReHo of the right middle temporal gyrus was positively correlated with MMSE score ( r  = 0.392, p  = 0.048)., Conclusion: Functional changes in multiple brain regions rather than in a single brain region have been observed in patients with aMCI. Organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) biosensor with a removed background is desired but remains challenging. So far, scientists still lack a solution to this issue. The light-matter interplay is expected to achieve an advanced OPECT with unknown possibilities. Here, we address this challenge by tailoring a unique heterogeneous light antenna as the functional gating module and its cascade interaction with a proper channel, which is exemplified by bioinduced [Ru(bpy) 2 dppz] 2+ -intercalated DNA nanotubes (NTs)/NiO heterojunction and its modulation against a diethylenetriamine-treated poly(ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) channel. Light stimulation of the antenna can generate the obvious cathodic photocurrent and, hence, modulate the channel, accomplishing OPECT with a minimal background and the hitherto highest current gain of 19 000. Linking with nucleic acid hybridization using microRNA-155 as the representative target, the device achieves sensitive biosensing down to 5.0 fM.

This study aimed to investigate the research hotspots and global trends of acupuncture in the treatment of headaches from 1974 to 2022. The Web of Science core collection database and literature related to acupuncture for headache treatment were retrieved. The CiteSpace (version 5.1.R8) and VOSviewer (version 1.6.19) software perform collaborative network analysis on the information of countries, academic institutions, authors, and co-occurrence network analysis on keywords, co-cited journals, and references. A total of 841 studies were included. Overall, the number of publications has increased over the past 5 decades. We identified and analyzed the countries, institutions, authors, and journals that were most active in the domain of acupuncture treatment for headaches. The most productive countries were the United States and China. Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was the most productive institution and Linde Klaus was the most productive author. Cephalalgia was the most productive and co-cited journal, whereas Lancet had the highest impact factor. The research hotspots mainly focus on headache, migraine, tension headache, electroacupuncture, and acupuncture. Research trends have mainly focused on acupuncture therapy and its curative effects, migraine without aura, paroxysmal migraine, and the mechanism of acupuncture treatment. The main research hotspots and frontier trends were the therapeutic effect and mechanism of acupuncture for headaches. Background: At present, the phenomenon of patients with mental disorders not seeking mental help is very serious, and the mental help-seeking attitude is the central structure of the help process. However, there is no consensus on which patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) should be used to assess mental help-seeking attitudes., Objective: The systematic review aims to critically appraise, compare, and summarize the measurement quality of the all-available PROMs about mental help-seeking attitudes to provide evidence-based guidance and reference for clinical researchers., Methods: A systematic search was conducted in 9 databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Medline, APA, CINAHL, Sinomed, CNKI, and WanFang) since the establishment of the database until November 30, 2022 to identify articles on the PROMs of mental help-seeking attitudes. We used the COSMIN guidelines to evaluate the methodological quality and measurement properties of all-available PROMs, and a modified Grading, Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system to evaluate the level of evidence supporting each rating. Finally, the recommendation level is given according to the overall quality of each PROM., Results: We identified 29 studies representing 13 PROMs out of 2,828 screening studies. Single-cell epigenetics is envisioned to decipher manifold epigenetic phenomena and to contribute to our accurate knowledge about basic epigenetic mechanisms. Engineered nanopipette technology has gained momentum in single-cell studies; however, solutions to epigenetic questions remain unachieved. This study addresses the challenge by exploring N6-methyladenine (m 6 A)-bearing deoxyribozyme (DNAzyme) confined within a nanopipette for profiling a representative m 6 A-modifying enzyme, fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO). Electroosmotic intracellular extraction of FTO could remove the m 6 A and cause DNAzyme cleavage, leading to the altered ionic current signal. Because the cleavage can release a DNA sequence, we simultaneously program it as an antisense strand against FTO-mRNA, intracellular injection of which has been shown to induce early stage apoptosis. Surface and interface engineering, especially the creation of abundant Cu 0 /Cu + interfaces and nanograin boundaries, is known to facilitate C 2+ production during electrochemical CO 2 reductions over copper-based catalysts. However, precisely controlling the favorable nanograin boundaries with surface structures (e.g., Cu(100) facets and Cu[ n (100)×(110)] step sites) and simultaneously stabilizing Cu 0 /Cu + interfaces is challenging, since Cu + species are highly susceptible to be reduced into bulk metallic Cu at high current densities. Thus, an in-depth understanding of the structure evolution of the Cu-based catalysts under realistic CO 2 RR conditions is imperative, including the formation and stabilization of nanograin boundaries and Cu 0 /Cu + interfaces. Herein we demonstrate that the well-controlled thermal reduction of Cu 2 O nanocubes under a CO atmosphere yields a remarkably stable Cu 2 O-Cu nanocube hybrid catalyst (Cu 2 O(CO)) possessing a high density of Cu 0 /Cu + interfaces, abundant nanograin boundaries with Cu(100) facets, and Cu[ n (100)×(110)] step sites. The Cu 2 O(CO) electrocatalyst delivered a high C 2+ Faradaic efficiency of 77.4% (56.6% for ethylene) during the CO 2 RR under an industrial current density of 500 mA/cm 2 . Spectroscopic characterizations and morphological evolution studies, together with in situ time-resolved attenuated total reflection-surface enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (ATR-SEIRAS) studies, established that the morphology and Cu 0 /Cu + interfacial sites in the as-prepared Cu 2 O(CO) catalyst were preserved under high polarization and high current densities due to the nanograin-boundary-abundant structure. Furthermore, the abundant Cu 0 /Cu + interfacial sites on the Cu 2 O(CO) catalyst acted to increase the *CO adsorption density, thereby increasing the opportunity for C-C coupling reactions, leading to a high C 2+ selectivity.

Metal-oxide interfaces on Cu-based catalysts play very important roles in the low-temperature water-gas shift reaction (LT-WGSR). However, developing catalysts with abundant, active, and robust Cu-metal oxide interfaces under LT-WGSR conditions remains challenging. Herein, we report the successful development of an inverse copper-ceria catalyst (Cu@CeO 2 ), which exhibited very high efficiency for the LT-WGSR. At a reaction temperature of 250 °C, the LT-WGSR activity of the Cu@CeO 2 catalyst was about three times higher than that of a pristine Cu catalyst without CeO 2 . Comprehensive quasi-in situ structural characterizations indicated that the Cu@CeO 2 catalyst was rich in CeO 2 /Cu 2 O/Cu tandem interfaces. Reaction kinetics studies and density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that the Cu + /Cu 0 interfaces were the active sites for the LT-WGSR, while adjacent CeO 2 nanoparticles play a key role in activating H 2 O and stabilizing the Cu + /Cu 0 interfaces. Our study highlights the role of the CeO 2 /Cu 2 O/Cu tandem interface in regulating catalyst activity and stability, thus contributing to the development of improved Cu-based catalysts for the LT-WGSR.

Organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) bioanalysis has recently emerged as a promising avenue for biomolecular sensing, providing insight into the next-generation of photoelectrochemical biosensing and organic bioelectronics. Herein, this work validates the direct enzymatic biocatalytic precipitation (BCP) modulation on a flower-like Bi 2 S 3 photosensitive gate for high-efficacy OPECT operation with high transconductance ( g m ), which is exemplified by a prostate-specific antigen (PSA)-dependent hybridization chain reaction (HCR) and subsequent alkaline phosphatase (ALP)-enabled BCP reaction toward PSA aptasensing. It has been shown that light illumination could ideally achieve the maximized g m at zero gate bias, and BCP could efficiently modulate the device's interfacial capacitance and charge-transfer resistance, resulting in a significantly changed channel current ( I DS ). The as-developed OPECT aptasensor realizes good analysis performance for PSA with a detection limit of 10 fg mL -1 . This work features direct BCP modulation of organic transistors and is expected to stimulate further interest in exploring advanced BCP-interfaced bioelectronics with unknown possibilities.

The electrocatalytic CO 2 reduction reaction (CO 2 RR) is an attractive technology for CO 2 valorization and high-density electrical energy storage. Achieving a high selectivity to C 2+ products, especially ethylene, during CO 2 RR at high current densities (>500 mA cm -2 ) is a prized goal of current research, though remains technically very challenging. Herein, it is demonstrated that the surface and interfacial structures of Cu catalysts, and the solid-gas-liquid interfaces on gas-diffusion electrode (GDE) in CO 2 reduction flow cells can be modulated to allow efficient CO 2 RR to C 2+ products. This approach uses the in situ electrochemical reduction of a CuO nanosheet/graphene oxide dots (CuOC(O)) hybrid. Owing to abundant CuOC interfaces in the CuOC(O) hybrid, the CuO nanosheets are topologically and selectively transformed into metallic Cu nanosheets exposing Cu(100) facets, Cu(110) facets, Cu[n(100) × (110)] step sites, and Cu + /Cu 0 interfaces during the electroreduction step, the faradaic efficiencie (FE) to C 2+ hydrocarbons was reached as high as 77.4% (FE ethylene  ≈ 60%) at 500 mA cm -2 . The sensitive detection of neuron-specific enolase (NSE) as a biomarker for lung cancer at an early stage is critical but has long been a challenge. The emergence of polarity-switchable photoelectrochemical (PEC) bioanalysis has opened up new avenues for developing highly sensitive NSE sensors. In this study, we present such a biosensor depending on the bioinduced AgI transition on MOF-on-MOF-derived semiconductor heterojunctions. Specifically, treatment of ZnO@In 2 O 3 @AgI by bioproduced H 2 S can in situ generate the ZnO@In 2 O 3 @In 2 S 3 @Ag 2 S heterojunction, with the photocurrent switching from the cathodic to anodic one due to the changes in the carrier transfer pathway. Linking an NSE-targeted sandwich immunorecognition with labeled alkaline phosphatase (ALP) catalyzed generation of H 2 S, such a phenomenon was correlated to NSE concentration with good performance in terms of selectivity and sensitivity and a low detection limit of 0.58 pg/mL. This study offered a new perspective on the use of MOF-on-MOF-derived heterostructures for advanced polarity-switchable PEC bioanalysis.

Visual adaptation allows organisms to accurately perceive the external world even in dramatically changing environments, from dim starlight to bright sunlight. In particular, polarization-sensitive visual adaptation can effectively process the polarized visual information that is ubiquitous in nature. However, such an intriguing characteristic still remains a great challenge in semiconductor devices. Herein, a novel porous metal-organic-framework phototransistor with anisotropic-ReS 2 -based heterojunction is demonstrated for polarization-sensitive visual adaptation emulation. The device exhibits intriguing polarized sensitivity and an adaptive ability due to its strong anisotropic and trapping-detrapping characteristics, respectively. A series of polarization-sensitive neuromorphic behaviors like polarization-perceptual excitatory postsynaptic current, multimode adjustable dichroic ratio and reconfigurable sensory adaption, are experimentally demonstrated through this porous heterojunction phototransistor. More importantly, with the polarization-electricity cooperation strategy, advanced polarization-sensitive visual adaptation with strong bottom-gate control and environment dependence is successfully realized. Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a common, progressive, irreversible, and fatal neurodegenerative disorder with rapidly increasing worldwide incidence. Although much research on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the white matter (WM) in AD has been published, no bibliometric analysis study has investigated this issue. Thus, this study aimed to provide an overview of the current status, hotspots, and trends in MRI of WM in AD., Methods: We searched for records related to MRI studies of WM in AD from 1990 to 2022 in the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. CiteSpace (version 5.1.R8) and VOSviewer (version 1.6.19) software were used for bibliometric analyses., Results: A total of 2,199 articles were obtained from this study. From 1990 to 2022, the number of published articles showed exponential growth of y = 4.1374e 0.1294x , with an average of 17.9 articles per year. The top country and institutions were the United States and the University of California Davis, accounting for 44.52 and 5.32% of the total studies, respectively. The most productive journal was Neurology, and the most co-cited journal was Lancet Neurology. Decarli C was the most productive author. Objective: This study aimed to comprehensively evaluate perianal fistulas and their related complications using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)., Methods: We enrolled 115 eligible patients who underwent preoperative perianal MRI. Primary fistulas, internal and external openings, and related complications were evaluated using MRI. All fistulas were classified according to Park's classification, Standard Practice Task Force classification, St. James's grade, and the position of the internal opening., Results: In total, 169 primary fistulas were detected in 115 patients; 73 (63.5%) patients had a single primary tract and 42 (36.5%) patients had multiple primary tracts, and 198 internal and 129 external openings were identified. Based on Park's classification, 150 (88.7%) primary fistulas were classified into the following types: intersphincteric (82, 54.7%), trans-sphincteric (58, 38.6%), suprasphincteric (8, 5.3%), extrasphincteric (1, 0.7%), and diffuse intersphincteric with trans-sphincteric (1, 0.7%) types. Based on St. James's grade, 149 fistulas were classified into grade 1 (52, 34.9%), grade 2 (30, 20.1%), grade 3 (20, 13.4%), grade 4 (38, 25.5%), and grade 5 (9, 6.1%). We detected 92 (54.4%) simple and 77 (45.6%) complex perianal fistulas and 72 (42.6%) high and 97 (57.4%) low perianal fistulas. Furthermore, we detected 32 secondary tracts in 23 (20.0%) patients and 87 abscesses in 60 (52.2%) patients. Organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) biosensing represents a new platform interfacing optoelectronics and biological systems with essential amplification, which, nevertheless, are concentrated on depletion-type operation to date. Here, a polymer dot (Pdot)-gated accumulation-type OPECT biosensor is devised and applied for sensitive urea detection. In such a device, the as-designed Pdot/poly[bis(4-phenyl)(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)amine] (PTAA) is validated as a superior gating module against the diethylenetriamine (DETA) de-doped poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) channel, and the urea-dependent status of Pdots has been shown to be sensitively correlated with the device's response. High-performance urea detection is thus realized with a wide linear range of 1 μM-50 mM and a low detection limit of 195 nM. Given the diversity of the Pdot family and its immense interactions with other species, this work represents a generic platform for developing advanced accumulation-type OPECT and beyond.

This study aimed to identify abnormal brain regions and imaging indices of vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) and explore specific imaging diagnostic markers of VCI. In this study, 24 patients with VCI were allocated to the VCI group and 25 healthy subjects were assigned to the healthy control (HC) group. Demographic data and neuropsychological test scores were compared using SPSS 25.0. The structural and functional imaging data were post-processed and statistically analyzed using CAT12, DPARSF and SPM12 software, based on the MATLAB platform. The structural and functional indices of gray matter volume (GMV) and regional homogeneity (ReHo) were obtained, and inter-group data were analyzed using an independent-sample t test. Sex, age, years of education, and total brain volume were used as covariates. Compared to the HC group, the GMV of VCI in the VCI group decreased significantly in the rectus muscles of the bilateral gyrus, left superior temporal gyrus, left supplementary motor area (SMA), right insula, right superior temporal gyrus, right anterior cuneiform lobe, and right anterior central gyrus (PRECG) (P < .05, FWE correction), without GMV enlargement in the brain area. ReHo decreased in the right inferior temporal gyrus (ITG), right parahippocampal gyrus, and left temporal pole (middle temporal gyrus, right lingual gyrus, left posterior central gyrus, and right middle temporal gyrus), the areas of increased ReHo were the left caudate nucleus, left rectus gyrus, right anterior cingulate gyrus and lateral cingulate gyrus (P < .05, FWE correction). Correlation analysis showed that the GMV of the left superior temporal gyrus was positively correlated with the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score (P < .05), and the GMV of the right insula was positively correlated with the MESE and long delayed memory scores (P < .05). There was a significant positive correlation between the ReHo and short-term delayed memory scores in the middle temporal gyrus of the left temporal pole (P < .05). The volume of GMV and ReHo decreased in VCI patients, suggesting that impairment of brain structure and function in specific regions is the central mechanism of cognitive impairment in these patients. Background: Depressed patients commonly experience psychological pain. Research pointed to positive psychological interventions as an effective means of ameliorating psychological pain, although the exact effect is unclear. Based on the hope theory and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), this study combines hope theory with solution-focused brief therapy to develop a nurse-led psychological pain solution-focused (PPSF) intervention in depressed patients., Methods: This is an assessor-blinded randomized controlled trial following the SPIRIT guidance. A total of 84 depressed patients will be recruited from the inpatient wards of a psychiatric hospital and randomly assigned to the control and experimental groups. Patients in the control group will be treated as usual. In contrast, patients in the experimental group will receive 6 sessions of the PPSF intervention for two weeks on top of the routine care. Primary outcomes are psychological pain, hope, cognitive distortions. Secondary outcomes are depression and suicidal ideation. Data will be collected at 5-time points: baseline, 1 and 2 weeks (post-intervention), 1 month (follow up), and 6 months after baseline. Generalized equation evaluation will be used to assess the effectiveness of the PPSF intervention., Discussion: From a positive psychology perspective, there remains much room for developing psychological pain interventions in depressed patients. SFBT and hope theory are both based on positive psychology. With hope theory as the general framework and SFBT questions as the practical guide, the PPSF intervention program is designed that nursing staff can implement. Purpose: This study aimed to translate, cross-culturally adapt, and preliminarily test the psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Orbach & Mikulincer Mental Pain Scale (OMMP)., Methods: Psychometric investigation was performed on 240 depressed patients. The reliability of the Chinese version of the OMMP scale was expressed by internal consistency reliability and test-retest reliability (2-week interval), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) on the 8-factor, 31-item OMMP was conducted to examine the construct validity., Results: The CFA showed that the modified model with 31 items had good reliability (Cronbach's α range = 0.691-0.871; ICC = 0.818). Criterion-related validity was also supported by significant and positive correlations between the eight factors and worst-ever suicidal ideation as well as depressive symptoms., Conclusion: The results indicated the usefulness of the OMMP-31 for Chinese depressed patients. Conjugated acetylenic polymers (CAPs) have emerged as a unique class of metal-free semiconductors with tunable electrical and optical properties yet their full potential remains largely unexplored. Organic bioelectronics is envisioned to create more opportunities for innovative biomedical applications. Herein, we report a poly(1,4-diethynylbenzene) (pDEB)/NiO gated enhancement-mode poly(ethylene dioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) and its structural evolution toward bioelectronic detection. pDEB was synthesized via copper-mediated Glaser polycondensation of DEB monomers on the NiO/FTO substrate, and the as-synthesized pDEB/NiO/FTO can efficiently modulate the enhancement-mode device with a high current gain. Linking with a sandwich immunoassay, the labeled alkaline phosphatase can catalyze sodium thiophosphate to generate H 2 S, which will react with the diacetylene group in pDEB through the Michael addition reaction, resulting in an altered molecular structure and thus the transistor response. Exemplified by HIgG as the model target, the developed biosensor achieves highly sensitive detection with a linear range of 70 fg mL -1 -10 ng mL -1 and a low detection limit of 28.5 fg mL -1 . This work features the dual functional CAP-gated OPECT, providing not only a novel gating module but also a structurally new rationale for bioelectronic detection.

Single-cell protein therapeutics is expected to promote our in-depth understanding of how a specific protein with a therapeutic dosage treats the cell without population averaging. However, it has not yet been tackled by current single-cell nanotools. We address this challenge by the use of a double-barrel nanopipette, in which one lumen was used for electroosmotic cytosolic protein delivery and the other was customized for ionic evaluation of the consequence. Upon injection of protein DJ-1 through the delivery lumen, upregulation of the antioxidant protein could protect neural PC-12 cells against oxidative stress from phorbol myristate acetate exposure, as deduced by targeting of the cytosolic hydrogen peroxide by the detecting lumen. Organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) bioanalytics has recently appeared as a promising route for biological measurements, which has major implications in both next-generation photoelectrochemical (PEC) bioanalysis and futuristic biorelated implementations. Via biological dissociation of materials, bioetching is a useful technique for bio-manufacturing and bioanalysis. The intersection of these two domains is expected to be a possible way to achieve innovative OPECT bioanalytics. Herein, we validate such a possibility, which is exemplified by alkaline phosphatase (ALP)-mediated bioetching of a CoOOH/BiVO 4 gate for a signal-on OPECT immunoassay of human immunoglobulin G (HIgG) as the model target. Specifically, target-dependent bioetching of the upper CoOOH layer could result into an enhanced electrolyte contact and light accessibility to BiVO 4 , leading to the modulated response of the polymeric poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) channel that could be monitored by the channel current. The introduced biosensor achieves sensitive detection of HIgG with high selectivity and sensitivity. This work features bioetching-enabled high-efficacy OPECT bioanalysis and is anticipated to serve as a generic protocol, considering the diverse bioetching routes.

Background: Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) has been widely used for depression. However, current studies of IPT have been restricted to depressive symptoms, and the results for improving social functioning were controversial., Methods: A comprehensive literature search of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was conducted through eleven databases. Data analysis was performed by RevMan5.3, and effects were summarized by using a random effects model of mean differences with 95 % confidence intervals., Results: From 2443 records, eleven studies met inclusion and exclusion criteria were used for meta-analysis. The results showed that IPT had significant effects on improving social functioning (SMD: -0.53, 95 % CI: -0.80 to -0.26), reducing depression (SMD: -0.49, 95 % CI: -0.80 to -0.19) and anxiety (SMD: -0.90, 95 % CI: -1.28 to -0.52), but the effect on the overall functioning (SMD: -0.37, 95 % CI: -0.73 to -0.01) is not obvious. Moreover, subgroup analysis showed that IPT was effective in improving social functioning in adolescent depression (SMD: -0.35, 95 % CI: -0.58 to -0.13) and perinatal depression (SMD: -1.01, 95 % CI: -1.35 to -0.67), while there was no significant difference in the adult depression group (SMD: -0.39, 95 % CI: -1.05 to 0.27)., Limitation: The blind method cannot be carried out in most studies due to the particularity of psychotherapy, heterogeneity in some results., Conclusion: IPT has a significant effect on improving social functioning and reducing depression and anxiety, while the effect on overall functioning requires further research.
