The aim of the study is to empirically test the impact of communicative teaching methods on the professional training of English language and literature teachers. The research employed the following methods: monitoring survey, questionnaire survey, comparative methods, and correlational analysis. The research confirmed the positive impact of the communicative teaching method on the professional training of English language and literature teachers. This is evidenced by the increased level of foreign language competence, professional training of English language and literature teachers. The number of the first-year students who studied using the communicative method increased by 7.7; 6.3% among the respondents with high and sufficient levels of professional training, respectively. Among the fourth-year students who studied a foreign language using the communicative method, it was found that 14.4; 16%, respectively, more persons with high and sufficient levels of professional training. No respondents with a low level of professional training were found among the future English language and literature teachers who studied using the communicative method. The data are compared with students who studied a foreign language using the lexical approach. Students and teachers also noted an increase in motivation to study specialized subjects, understanding of the prospects for further professional development, readiness to use the acquired competencies in real conditions, success in communication in a foreign language space. The research prospect is the spread of positive experience of using communicative methods of a foreign language teaching in the professional training of teachers of all majors., O objetivo do estudo foi testar empiricamente o impacto dos métodos de ensino comunicativos na formação profissional dos professores de língua e literatura inglesas. A investigação utilizou os seguintes métodos: inquérito de acompanhamento, inquérito por questionário, métodos comparativos e análise correlacional. A investigação confi rmou o impacto positivo do método de ensino comunicativo na formação profi ssional dos professores de língua e literatura inglesas. Este facto é evidenciado pelo aumento do nível de competência em língua estrangeira e pela formação profi ssional dos professores de língua e literatura inglesas. O número de alunos do primeiro ano que estudaram uti lizando o método comunicativo aumentou em 7,7; 6,3% entre os inquiridos com níveis de formação profi ssional elevados e sufi cientes, respetivamente. Entre os alunos do quarto ano que estudaram uma língua estrangeira utilizando o método comunicativo, verifi cou-se que 14,4; 16%, respetivamente, mais pes-soas com níveis de formação profi ssional elevados e sufi cientes. Entre os futuros professores de língua e literatura inglesas que estudaram segundo o método comunicativo, não foram encontrados inquiridos com um nível baixo de formação profi ssional. Os dados são comparados com os dos alunos que estudaram uma língua estrangeira utilizando a abordagem lexical. Os alunos e os professores notaram igualmente um aumento da motivação para estudar disciplinas especializadas, a compreensão das perspecti vas de desenvolvimento profi ssional futuro, a disponibilidade para utilizar as competências adquiridas em condições reais, o sucesso na comunicação num espaço de língua estrangeira. Prueba de ello es el aumento del nivel de competencia en lenguas extranjeras y de la formación profesional de los profesores de lengua y literatura inglesas. El número de alumnos de primer curso que estudiaron con el método comunicativo aumentó en un 7,7; 6,3% entre los encuestados con niveles alto y suficiente de formación profesional, respectivamente. Entre los alumnos de cuarto curso que estudiaron una lengua extranjera utilizando el método comunicativo, se constató un aumento del 14,4; 16%, respectivamente, entre las personas con niveles alto y suficiente de formación profesional. Entre los futuros profesores de lengua y literatura inglesas que estudiaron utilizando el método comunicativo no se encontraron personas con un nivel bajo de formación profesional. Los datos se comparan con los estudiantes que estudiaron una lengua extranjera utilizando el enfoque léxico. Los estudiantes y los profesores también observaron un aumento de la motivación para estudiar asignaturas especializadas, la comprensión de las perspectivas de desarrollo profesional ulterior, la disposición a utilizar las competencias adquiridas en condiciones reales, el éxito en la comunicación en un espacio de lengua extran-jera. La perspectiva de la investigación es la difusión de la experiencia positiva del uso de métodos comunicativos de enseñanza de una lengua extranjera en la formación profesional de los profesores de todas las especialidades

Peripheral artery disease is an atherosclerotic disease associated with limb ischemia that necessitates limb amputation in severe cases. Cell therapies comprised of adult mononuclear or stromal cells have been clinically tested and show moderate benefits. Bioengineering strategies can be applied to modify cell behavior and function in a controllable fashion. Using mechanically tunable or spatially controllable biomaterials, we highlight examples in which biomaterials can increase the survival and function of the transplanted cells to improve their revascularization efficacy in preclinical models. Biomaterials can be used in conjunction with soluble factors or genetic approaches to further modulate the behavior of transplanted cells and the locally implanted tissue environment in vivo. We critically assess the advances in bioengineering strategies such as 3-dimensional bioprinting and immunomodulatory biomaterials that can be applied to the treatment of peripheral artery disease and then discuss the current challenges and future directions in the implementation of bioengineering strategies.

A survey was used in this study to determine the students’ digital literacy, as well as to identify their level of knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals and their attitude towards these goals. Mathematical methods of data processing, Cronbach’s Alpha, Kaiser’s Measure, and Pearson correlation coefficient were also applied. It was found that the level of digital literacy, as well as the knowledge and attitude of students towards the SDGs, depend on their major. It is also assumed that the students’ attitude towards the SDGs depends on the political, economic, and social situation in the country. The results of the research complement the existing theoretical knowledge, and also recommend the methodology for determining the impact of digital technologies on shaping students’ attitudes towards the SDGs. It can be tested for other majors as well., El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el impacto de las tecnologías digitales en la educación de los estudiantes de Arte en su conocimiento y actitud hacia los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). En este estudio se utilizó una encuesta para determinar la alfabetización digital de los estudiantes, así como para identificar su nivel de conocimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible y su actitud hacia estos objetivos. También se aplicaron métodos matemáticos de procesamiento de datos, Alfa de Cronbach, Medida de Kaiser y coeficiente de correlación de Pearson. Se encontró que el nivel de alfabetización digital, así como el conocimiento y la actitud de los estudiantes hacia los ODS, dependen de su carrera. También se asume que la actitud de los estudiantes hacia los ODS depende de la situación política, económica y social del país. Aim. To analyze the dynamics of the epileptic population morbidity rate in Ukraine in its administrative and territorial regions.Materials and methods. The study was conducted within 2013-2017 according to the official data of the State Institution “Center for Medical Statistics of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”. The logical, mathematical and statistical, system-analytical, retrospective and comparative methods of analysis were used.Results. The study has found that the minimum number of epileptic patients among the population of Ukraine for 2013-2017 was recorded in 2014. This fact is due to a significant decrease in the population of the country against the background of separation of the Crimea and the introduction of military regime in the east of the country. The analysis of the incidence of epilepsy among people of the working age has determined that an increase in patients is observed in such administrative and territorial regions as Odessa, Sumy, Lviv and Ternopil region. It has been proven that the western regions of Ukraine lead the way in quantitative indicators of morbidity. By the average value of the population morbidity rate for epilepsy (2013-2017) the administrative and territorial regions have been groupped, and three groups of regions have been formed (high, medium and low level). It has been determined that the most threatening epidemiological situation is observed in 8 regions of Ukraine. The calculation of the indicator of the overall morbidity rate of epileptic patients of the working age has shown that the highest values of the incidence are observed in Volyn (2.75 %), Transcarpathian (2.25 %) and Lviv (1.55 %) regions.Conclusions. Recent studies show the possibility of the formation of fairly regular and global spiral patterns in dwarf galaxies (dS type). Our sample of observed dwarf objects of this class also includes galaxies with a central stellar bar. The analysis of the observational data provides a small rotation velocity and a small disk component mass for dS galaxies, which is in poor agreement with the spiral structure generation mechanism in isolated dwarfs due to the development of disk gravitational instability. Numerical simulation of the stellar-gaseous disks self-consistent dynamics imposes restrictions on the stellar disk thickness and the maximum gas rotation velocity, at which the gravitational mechanism of spiral formation can still be effective., Comment: 6 pages, 6 figures

The regularity of refinable functions has been analysed in an extensive literature and is well-understood in two cases: 1) univariate 2) multivariate with an isotropic dilation matrix. The general (non-isotropic) case offered a great resistance. It was done only recently by developing the matrix method. In this paper we make the next step and extend the Littlewood-Paley type method, which is very efficient in the aforementioned special cases, to general equations with arbitrary dilation matrices. This gives formulas for the higher order regularity in $W_2^k(\mathbb{R}^n)$ by means of the Perron eigenvalue of a finite-dimensional linear operator on a special cone. Applying those results to recently introduced tile B-splines, we prove that they can have a higher smoothness than the classical ones of the same order. Moreover, the two-digit tile B-splines have the minimal support of the mask among all refinable functions of the same order of approximation. This proves, in particular, the lowest algorithmic complexity of the corresponding subdivision schemes. Examples and numerical results are provided.

Experimental verification ofthe methodology for the development of leadership competence of future physical education teachers was carried out using a pedagogical experiment during of 2021–2022 academic year. We selected to participate in the experiment 125 students in Poltava V.G.Korolenko National Pedagogical University and teachers University of Ukoopspilks «Poltava University of Economics and Trade», Poltava State Medical University. Research methods: theoretical; empirical; research work to test the effectiveness of methods for developing leadership competence of future teachers of physical education; methods of statistical data processing. The analysis of tabular data is the basis for the conclusion that there is a positive trend, namely the reduction in the number of students, who demonstrated a low level of development of leadership skills of future physical education teachers in all components and a positive increase in medium and high levels.

The purpose of the study is to systematize the techniques and identify relatively new techniques in the field of easel graphics.

Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are considered as potential obesogens that may affect adipose tissue development and functioning, thus promoting obesity. However, various POPs may have different mechanisms of action. The objective of the present review is to discuss the key mechanisms linking exposure to POPs to adipose tissue dysfunction and obesity. Laboratory data clearly demonstrate that the mechanisms associated with the interference of exposure to POPs with obesity include: (a) dysregulation of adipogenesis regulators (PPAR and C/EBP); (b) affinity and binding to nuclear receptors; (c) epigenetic effects; and/or (d) proinflammatory activity. Although in vivo data are generally corroborative of the in vitro results, studies in living organisms have shown that the impact of POPs on adipogenesis is affected by biological factors such as sex, age, and period of exposure. Epidemiological data demonstrate a significant association between exposure to POPs and obesity and obesity-associated metabolic disturbances (e.g., type 2 diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome), although the existing data are considered insufficient. In conclusion, both laboratory and epidemiological data underline the significant role of POPs as environmental obesogens. However, further studies are required to better characterize both the mechanisms and the dose/concentration-response effects of exposure to POPs in the development of obesity and other metabolic diseases.

This study aims to discover how author’s neologisms in Douglas Adams’s science fiction novel The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy were translated in its only existing official Japanese translation by Kazumi Yasuhara. It also tries to answer the question of whether the type of a neologism influenced the translator’s choices when translating it. The study uses a hundred neologisms from the novel, classifying them and their translation strategies using classification systems proposed by Peter Newmark in his 1988 work A Textbook of Translation. It is concluded that the type of a neologism did indeed have an influence on which strategies the translator chose to use when translating it. Overall, the most common strategies proved to be couplet, i.e., a combination of several strategies, naturalisation, i.e., transliteration and adaptation to target language conventions, and through translation, i.e., literal translation of all components of a compound word or collocation.

We study embedding gravity, a modified theory of gravity, in which our space-time is assumed to be a four-dimensional surface in flat ten-dimensional space. Based on a simple geometric idea, this theory can be reformulated as General Relativity with additional degrees of freedom and contribution to action, which can be interpreted as describing dark matter. We study the canonical formalism for such a formulation of embedding gravity. After solving simple constraints, the Hamiltonian is reduced to a linear combination of four first class constraints with Lagrange multipliers. There still remain six pairs of second class constraints. Possible ways of taking these constraints into account are discussed. We show that one way of solving the constraints leads to the canonical system going into the previously known canonical formulation of the complete embedding theory with an implicitly defined constraint., Comment: LaTeX, 15 pages. The article aims to identify the types of transgression in courtroom discourse. The study was carried out using discourse analysis as the main method. According to the mode of expression, the explicit type of transgression and the implicit type were determined. Forms of verbal expression of transgression are words and phrases with negative emotional coloring, and the use of contextual and conceptual antonyms. In cases of implicitly represented transgression, the true interpretations of the speakers are expressed by means of Aesopian language allegories. It is proven that the use of transgression ensures the success of the speech’s impact. The influence effect of transgression in courtroom discourse increases under the following conditions: frequent use; use of accusation and refutation strategies; emotionally charged vocabulary; piling up in narrative details, even inventing; and the construction of speeches on the principle of increasing transgression., Članak je posvećen proučavanju transgresije u američkome pravosudnom diskursu.Transgresija se tumači ne samo kao process i pojava nego i kao taktička komunikacijska tehnika koja se ostvaruje kršenjem utvrđenih komunikacijskih norma, a usmjerena je na izazivanje protivnika ili na druge vrste komunikacijskoga utjecaja u okviru strateškoga cilja. U sudskome diskursu transgresija se rabi u narativima tužitelja i odvjetnika. Prema namjeni korištenja identificirane su sljedeće vrste: stvaranje kognitivne disonancije između porote i suca, osuda postupaka protivnika, pa čak i optuživanje za neprofesionalnost, osporavanje izjava protivnika, poučavanje, ismijavanje, privlačenje pozornosti uz pomoć šokantnoga. Oblici jezičnoga izražavanja analiziranih tehnika jesu riječi i izrazi s jakim emocionalnim obojenjem, korištenje kontekstnim antonimima i pojmovnim oprekama. Implicitna transgresija izražava se ezopovskim jezikom i alegorijama te kroz negativne ocjene postupaka apstraktnih trećih osoba. Uporaba transgresije često osigurava da govor ima željeni učinak. Željeni učinak transgresije u pravosudnome diskursu, u radu označen terminom „produktivnost”, intenzivira se učestalošću uporabe; uporabom strategija optuživanja, opovrgavanja, suprotstavljanja i taktika ezopovskoga govora; uporabom emocionalno obojenoga vokabulara; gomilanjem (katkad i izmišljenih) detalja u narativima te konstruiranjem govora na principu postupnoga intenziviranja transgresije.

The content of gas in galaxies with an anomalously high relative mass of hydrogen $M_{HI}/M_*$ for a given mass of the stellar population $M_*$ (VHR-galaxies) is considered, using the available samples of such galaxies. It is shown that, within the optical diameter $D_{25}$, the mass of HI in VHR galaxies, as well as in galaxies with "normal" HI content, is limited by a value that depends on the specific angular momentum of the disk. Outer gaseous disks beyond $D_{25}$, which contain the main amount of HI in most of the galaxies we consider, are gravitationally stable, and, as a rule, they retain an approximately constant value of the stability parameter $Q_{gas}$ over a large range of radial distances. It allows to propose that the outer disks of VHR galaxies are not recently acquired, but are of great age, and their gravitational instability was the main regulator of star formation during their formation. In this case, the extended disks of galaxies should also include a low-brightness stellar components of old stars extending far beyond their optical diameter $D_{25}$., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, 1 table

We investigate the spatial regularity in the distribution of the young stellar population along spiral arms of three late type spiral galaxies: NGC 895, NGC 5474, and NGC 6946. This study is based on an analysis of photometric properties of spiral arms using {\it GALEX} ultraviolet, optical UBVRI, Halpha, and 8mum {IRAC} infrared surface photometry data. Using the Fourier analysis approach, we found features of spatial regularity or quasi-regularity in the distribution of the young stellar population or (and) regular chains of star formation regions in all arms of NGC 895, NGC 5474, and NGC 6946 with characteristic scales of spacing from 350 to 500 pc in different arms, and (or) scales which are multiples of them. These characteristic scales are close to the those found earlier in NGC 628, NGC 6217, and M100., Comment: 13 pages, 9 figures, 3 tables. Accepted for publication in MNRAS

Since 2016, linguists, mathematicians, and programmers at the Karelian Research Centre have been working with the Open Corpus of the Veps and Karelian Languages (VepKar), which is an extension of the Veps Corpus created in 2009. The VepKar corpus comprises texts in Karelian and Veps, multifunctional dictionaries linked to them, and software with an advanced system of search using various criteria of the texts (language, genre, etc.) and numerous linguistic categories (lexical and grammatical search in texts was implemented thanks to the generator of word forms that we created earlier). A corpus of 3000 texts was compiled, texts were uploaded and marked up, the system for classifying texts into languages, dialects, types and genres was introduced, and the word-form generator was created. Future plans include developing a speech module for working with audio recordings and a syntactic tagging module using morphological analysis outputs. Owing to continuous functional advancements in the corpus manager and ongoing VepKar enrichment with new material and text markup, users can handle a wide range of scientific and applied tasks. The aim of the article is to establish the level of professional burnout and assess it in the context of social-professional characteristics of social workers in Russia. The quantitative characteristics of the studied problem are examined using the survey method in the form of formalized questionnaires and testing. The authors proceed from the notion that the profession of a social worker, which presupposes direct contact with people in difficult life situations, is clearly one of the jobs that are the most conducive to the development of professional burnout syndrome and is viewed by society as such. Low pay grade combined with severe emotional load serve as factors contributing to the professional disorganization of a worker. It is found that in the specific conditions of Russia, the general characteristics of social workers assume not only a desire to continue professional activity within the chosen specialty but also a relatively low percentage of people, in whom a high degree of professional burnout can be found, El objetivo del artículo es establecer el nivel de agotamiento profesional y evaluarlo en el contexto de las características socioprofesionales de los trabajadores sociales en Rusia. Las características cuantitativas del problema estudiado se examinan utilizando el método de encuesta en forma de cuestionarios formalizados y pruebas. Los autores parten de la idea de que la profesión de trabajador social, que presupone el contacto directo con personas en situaciones vitales difíciles, es claramente uno de los trabajos más propicios para el desarrollo del síndrome de desgaste profesional y así lo considera la sociedad. El bajo nivel salarial combinado con la fuerte carga emocional son factores que contribuyen a la desorganización profesional del trabajador. Se constata que, en las condiciones específicas de Rusia, las características generales de los trabajadores sociales suponen no sólo el deseo de continuar la actividad profesional dentro de la especialidad elegida, sino también un porcentaje relativamente bajo de personas, en las que se puede encontrar un alto grado de burnout profesional

The Nuclotron-base Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), with commissioning of the facility expected in late 2022. The Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD) has been designed to operate at NICA and its components are currently in production. The detector is expected to be ready for data taking with the first beams from NICA. This document provides an overview of the landscape of the investigation of the QCD phase diagram in the region of maximum baryonic density, where NICA and MPD will be able to provide significant and unique input. It also provides a detailed description of the MPD set-up, including its various subsystems as well as its support and computing infrastructures.
