Dieser Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit den Ergebnissen einer bundesweiten Befragung zum Thema Weiterbildung in Bibliotheken aus dem Jahr 2021.Es ist die Folgebefragung einer ersten Studie aus dem Jahr 2016, so dass Entwicklungen und Veränderungen adressiert werden, andererseits aber auch neue Aspekte aufgegriffen werden. Die stärkste Veränderung wurde sicherlich durch das Auftreten der Coronapandemie verursacht, die über viele Monate hinweg Präsenzveranstaltungen unmöglich machte und so neue Lehr- und Veranstaltungsformate gefunden werden mussten. Gleichzeitig geht es um Coaching als neues Element in der bibliothekarischen Weiterbildung., The paper focusses on the results of a nationwide survey on the topic of continuing education in libraries from 2021.It is the follow-up survey to an initial study from 2016, so that developments and changes are addressed, but on the other hand new aspects are also taken up. The strongest change was certainly caused by the occurrence of the corona pandemic, which made face-to-face events impossible for many months and so new teaching and event formats had to be found. Innovationen erfüllen aus der Sicht eines Innovators/Anbieters meistens einen speziellen Zweck, der vom Anbieter vorgegeben wird. Doch gibt es immer wieder Innovationen, die weit mehr als genau diesen Zweck erfüllen bzw. einen ganz anderen Zweck erfüllen. Anbieter von Produkten und Dienstleistungen müssen sich daher fragen, mit welcher „Aufgabe“ beauftragt der Kunde ein Angebot? Die Beauftragung mit einer (anderen) Aufgabe erfolgt häufig unbewusst und das Unternehmen erfährt davon nichts. So wurde Starbucks zu Zeiten von kostenpflichtigem WLAN häufig damit beauftragt, kostenfrei im Internet recherchieren und in Ruhe dort arbeiten zu können. Der Auftrag war häufig nicht primär der Genuss eines Getränks. Dieses wurde konsumiert, um Starbucks mit einer anderen Aufgabe beauftragen zu können. Ziel von Innovationen – und das gilt auch für Öffentliche Bibliotheken – muss es also künftig verstärkt sein, herauszufinden, womit der (potenzielle) Kunde Einrichtungen, Produkte und Dienstleistungen beauftragt bzw. beauftragen würde, um auch 2030 eine Daseinsberechtigung zu haben. Der Beitrag orientiert sich u. a. an den Ausführungen von Christensen (2017) zu dem Thema.

Most prices in the information economy (scientific information) are based on length of information, duration of online time, actuality etc., but most of these price concepts give little satisfaction to the customer because they are irrational and not comprehensible. Till today there exist no price concepts in the information economy concidering the attention or understanding of information. Therefore the theory of Georg Franck (1999, 2002) will be an interesting attempt for new price models. People nowadays stay in confrontation with a maximum number of information per day and recognise only the most attractive and readily comprehensible information. Advertising agencies are measuring the attention drawn by a particular medium like television. The private TV as a leading mass medium finances itself by selling the service of catching attention. These are systems of channels supplying information in order to gather attention in return and determine the financial success. It should be the goal of every author (scientist) to gather attention by the scientific community. Every scientist and author should formulate his publication attractive to receive a maximum of attention and understanding because these two points will be rewarded directly with scientific success (Science Citation Index). But how much would the consumer (scientist) pay for understanding and attention? Till today no host or supplier of information uses this model.
