- Abstract
Problems connected with refusal of real in the contemporary theater seem to be of primary importance for many branches of theatrical studies. Time is one of the elements to be subject to various modifications we were not accustomed to. The basic notion which is important for our study it that of narratology. In connection of that, Günter Müller distinguishes Erzählzeit, and erzählte Zeit. In spite of analeptic and proleptic travels in time the notion of time in all narrative texts must be quite naturally Kantian. Nevertheless it is possible to construct non-narrative texts of which the propositions are true in the world of Einstein´s time. The application of modal logic with its notion of possible worlds gives us the key to most of the artistic avant-garde movements, especially expressionism which is a subjective art form by its will to distort reality for an emotional effect. In our article we analyzed some French plays which often dramatize the spiritual awakening and sufferings of their protagonists as it was in German theater, amongst other Time is a dream by H.-R. Lenormand or L´Inconnue d´Arras by Armand Salacrou.
